Macy's is fine. My opinion is neutral on this location. I think I would visit Macys more often if the checkout process was easier. And returns? Wow. It took 4 employees to help a woman return a spoon set today. This is why A.I. is taking over! It's been many years since I've been in this Macy's. It has more energy and style than Gimbels or Stern's ever had. It's almost fun to shop. There is a wide variety of merchandise at different price points. Employees on the floor are identifiable, by their name tags, that actually help if asked for assistance. There are a few places to sit. Get new eyeglasses, or coffee. There is ample free parking, indoors and outside. The B-Line services both ends of Xavier Ave; the street between Macy's and where Target is now. read more

Never shopping here again. I was shopping around for a cologne to get a friend as a gift, when one of the "helpers" decided to "help" me everywhere I went. Instead of asking if I wanted to smell any cologne, she would just follow me, and not say anything, and stare. Who would've thought Macys would be racially profiling in 2026. Was very pleased with the items in this store. Almost all the other Macys near me have closed but not this one. I honestly haven't stepped inside a Macy's in about a year but was not disappointed. I honestly think is the best store in the Cross County shopping center. I only found things to buy here, not at any of the other stores. They have so many name brand items and amazing sales. I now know the reason as to why one might have a decent experience while another might have a horrible one here. I've had so many different experiences at this location and it has become apparent that, if you're interaction is with a permanent employee, you're likely to have much more pleasant outcome as opposed to if you're dealing with a seasonal employee, the outcome will likely be less appealing. It is November so sine of whom you're dealing with are unvetted, angry individuals, that have no interest in working earnestly to make a good impression and keep their jobs past 2023. This past weekend, Saturday 11/05/22, at around 5P, we came to purchase a birthday gift for a child. I really wanted to go to a boutique in one of Westchester's walkable villages but hubby insisted we just come here; mistake number one. Parking was atrocious because it was the weekend so the place was crammed with people looking for deals. We went right up to the top floor, found some cute clothing pieces and I went to go and pay. Matthew was working at the cash register and was not exactly rude but there was definitely a feeling of, "I don't want to be here", coming from him. Sometimes, it's just the way you speak to people that can turn them off from you. I didn't pay him any mind. I paid and requested my receipt be sent via email. Afterwards, I sent hubby to the car with the bags and went to use the restroom before leaving, remembering that I just purchased a gift but forgot to ask for a gift receipt. After using the bathroom, I went back upstairs and before even approaching the cashier, I asked a random employee what I needed to do in order to have a gift receipt reprinted. They said I could use the email receipt and didn't need the actual items, and that I could go to any register. Since I was already on the floor, I just went back to where I initially purchased. Matthew that rang me up prior was dealing with a customer, so I went to the other cashier, Brittany. My first sentence to her was that I just made a purchase and mistakenly forgot to ask for a gift receipt but was told that I could just show the email receipt and have it printed. She tried but it didn't work. Matthew also tried to help. I asked what I could do and unprovoked, this girl begins to speak down to me, with the nastiest of attitudes, that it was too late and I should have gotten a gift receipt when I bought the items. Even Matthew knew she was being rude because he had to hold up him hand to cue her to stop. I repeated myself and said that I already explained it her that I forgot and she didn't need to be nasty. Matthew said that the only recourse would be to bring back the items to return and repurchase. I went back to the car to get the items and then straight to customer service (I-service? on first floor) and spoke with Michelle, who was a complete 180° of friendliness. I explained the situation and she left her post to walk me upstairs and rectify the issue. When we got up there, Brittany had no name tag on and left her register. Matthew was still at his post and initially would not move when Michelle requested that he take his customer to the other cash register. By the looks of it, Michelle had to take over his machine and cancel the transaction to make him move. She then inquired as to what occurred and he had the audacity to lie to everyone present, saying that stormed off with an attitude when he tried to explain to me the procedure. I had to speak up for myself and said that while he did give me the information, I only walked off after the other girl was extremely rude for no reason. For some reason, this kid felt the need to keep talking and Michelle had to step in to silence him. All of the employees in this area are seasonal so there's a reason they treat people like crap. They have nothing to lose because they're desperately needed for the moment and then they'll be let go by January/February. I worked in retail and if I could offer up some sound advice, it would be to not take a job where you have direct contact with the public if you can't be respectful and courteous. Work from home or behind the scenes if you can't handle normal interactions with actual people. As Michelle and I walked away, we saw a manager and I explained what happened. He apologized profusely and Michelle brought me downstairs to complete the transaction. This entire episode is the reason I order online. I gently reminded hubby why I didn't want to come here to begin with. It's just not worth it and in the end, the business suffers because less people shopping in person means that they don't see other displayed items that might catch their eye, prompting them to spend more. These businesses should get their temporary employees better. read more

Macys has established a no tefund OR exchange policy since March 2023 after 30 days ordered. . I never was notified of that or it does not show uponline when ordering something. Meanwhile, they push you to buy clothes in the summer that are for fall or winter. Ibought a fall jacket in aug. and my husband didnt try on until today (sept) because it was cool today. It is too small. All i wanted was to exchange it for next size. They will do nothing. They are not losing a dime by exchanging it. I feel this is very unfair. From now on I will go to Amazon instead of Macys when shopping online. read more

Arrived @ Cross County Macys on Friday, October 18th, 2024 @ approximately 12:45a on the 2nd floor and I noticed Deon (Cashier) texting during my entire visit. When it was my turn to be serviced he barely lifted up his head to acknowledge me b/c he was into his texting. Finally, to brush me off, he tells me he can't do my transaction and sent me several feet away to the Executive Office. When I arrived @ The Exec Office and I explained why I was there., the kind gentleman asks me, "Who sent you over here - they're suppose to do this". Before I left the store, I returned to Deon and told him what the Exec Office said to me. My opinion is that this Deon character is LAZY. He continued texting throughout my entire store visit. Deon has horrible customer service skills and shouldn't be allowed to work for Macy's. Get rid of him‼ read more

Resulting from the container ship delays, almost everything in this department store is literally up to 70% off. I purchased a Columbia winter jacket for $35. This same jacket is currently selling for $130 on Columbia's website. Keep im mind, I shop online at Colombia about 3x per month. If you're reading this, just smile and throw on your boots, your going to want to be here! Customer service is always great at this location, so no worries there. Cannot say enough about this store. It's clean, well lit, beautifully laid out and they offer a large selection of merchandise attractively presented. I don't understand all the negative comments about the staff as every interaction I've had here has been wonderful. The staff is courteous, attentive and they know their merchandise. Recently my husband needed a suit for a wedding at the VERY last minute....ugh. We went to Macy's on a Tuesday afternoon and were helped by an amazing young lady. She measured him for the suit, shirt and belt which all fit so perfectly nothing needed alterations! When does that ever happen? I've also had great experiences at the Lancôme counter, costume jewelry and women's clothing so I'm perplexed by the negative reviews. If you shop on a weekend then expect crowds, a messy store (some customers are slobs) and longer waits for service this is just common sense. I frequently order online for store pickup and have never had anything but a positive experience with the wait, the line or the staff. The app is a pleasure to use. This Macy's has a LensCrafters outlet, a very nice Starbucks with more retailers to come along with free, covered parking to protect you from the elements. What's not to love? read more

This is by far the worst Macy's I've ever been to, though, to be fair, I have yet to check out the branch in the Bronx, which I hear is a complete debacle. First off, this place is gangsta swagga central, yo. Not the most fun atmosphere to shop in. Second, the staff is thoroughly useless. I was trying to figure out if there was furniture on site, but unfortunately, there were no workers to be found anywhere on the first floor. When I finally tracked someone down, all I get back is a "wha happen". Awesome. Finally, this is probably nit picking, but stock looks picked through and messy, like 1000 hands have been all over every piece of clothing, towel, and plate. On the positive side, it seems to be cheaper than most Macy's, but it wasn't enough to keep me around to check things out. Pass on this Macy's branch. read more

They try, but they fail to meet their mark at this location. Located in Cross County, this store renovated itself like the mall did by adding an extension, but much like the actual mall in which it's located, it looks good, but came way too late - and in this store's case, without much rhyme or reason inside the store, the extension was pointless in the grand scheme of things. Of course, the store is now larger on 3 of the levels and can house more items, but that also means more of a mess in some areas. I can't even count how many times I can't avoid stepping on clothes that are on the floor in areas I'm looking. Makes me wonder if the clothes I'm looking at were also once on the floor being stepped on. I do know that a lot of the customers that come through this location are animals and are careless, but it IS the store's responsibility to maintain at least passable presentation - but they rarely ever do. Speaking of animalistic customers, this store can get very noisy and crowded at any given time - more during their frequent sales. It's almost the unwritten rule of everyone for themselves. Not the store's fault about what garbage shops there, but this has to be one of the biggest slop pits stops for customers in the area. Again, not the store's fault in that regard, only in the regard that what paid employees they have, should be maintaining. Employees range, some are nice and courteous, while others are lethargic and have attitudes. I find that more of the pleasant workers, are the ones who make commission on sales, so that pretty much explains itself. The ones in the perfume/cologne area, never a problem. With many registers to choose from, I often find myself walking past several to find an adequate one - some are unmanned, some are ridiculously slow (memo to Macy's, when training a new hire on register, it's best to do it during lulls or weekday mornings). I'm always humored when passing an empty register, seeing the employee assigned to that area, almost "hiding" a little ways away - if you don't want to work, then quit. You get what you pay for I guess, but a good portion of employees in that store need to be terminated for people who actually want to work and can work. I was there recently to pick up T-shirts for myself. The whole area was a mess, but I was able to find 2 packs of my size......only to come home and see that 2 of the 4 inside were not my size (though folded inside convincing enough). Obviously, a customer did it, but I fault the store for not keeping a watchful eye on both thieving customers and horrid stock conditions. I generally always have to eyeball whatever clothing I get from there, because half the time, there's rips, stains, or whatnot on the item. I shouldn't have to, but I do here. Ok for some merchandise, some of their sales, and of course, convenience......but I've been in better Macy's locations than this, so there are better options out there. read more

This store has horrible customer service even I wasn't there. They charged me for something I didn't purchase and when I called store to straight it out they transferred me left and right to....no where. They actually let someone used my email address at which I used for my Macy's online account at check out and charged the card I save in that email Macy's wallet without checking any I'd????? I have to call my bank and report fraud and requested a new credit card which messed up all my automatically payments using that card. Be aware with them. read more

This had to be one of the worst Macys I have ever stepped foot in. I love Macys, it has plenty of crap to buy at usual low prices with good sales. This location however was a nightmare to hang out in, when I was visiting family nearby. They were blasting reggae music, due to I guess reggae at the mall day. Guess my Irish ass did not get the memo. Anywho, the place was mobbed and a mess because of it. Clothes flung everywhere and in aisles. It looked like a going out of business sale. While the building itself went through a complete overhaul/renovation a few years ago & parking deck got added.....ghetto is ghetto. The place is a mess. I went to the MAC counter and the sale girls were too busy chatting away, not acknowledging new/waiting customers with the usual 'I'll be with you in a few moments', bumping into people without saying 'excuse me'. I haven't been here in ocer 2 years, so since i was in the neighborhood looking for a nice shirt i thought why mot stop here. Besides the exterior changes they have changed a considerable lot on the inside. I used to walk in and boom, mens section right there. But with the more space they utilized after the rebuilding they have spaced everything out. So it seems more of a journey to find what you may want. Overall its macys. So this is definitely not the best Macy's BUT today I happened to have the best experience so I thought I'd share. If your looking for assistance in the Men's department (suits) search for Damien. He is amazing!!!! My husband is a gym rat. Finding something in-store to fit his arms is almost impossible. Damien assisted us for about an hour, all while ringing up other customers and helping other associates. He's the king of multitasking. Some things you need to know about this store: 1. ITS HOT IN THERE. Every time I go, no matter what season it is, its always hot. When I've asked management about it, each time they tell us how its in the process of getting fixed. This has been going on for over a year!! Dress light! Everytime I'm trying on clothes I'm sweating!!!! 2. There is always at least one escalator broken. 3. Going on weekends is a death wish. Pack a lunch becuse you will be there a while! After countless horrible weekend experiences there, I vowed to never go on a weekend again. Lines are soooo long and they move very slowly. Workers are slow and talk to each other alot instead of ringing up customers quickly. I force myself to go during the week after work. A better (but still not good) experience. 4. I hear all the compliants about the staff here being incompetent but realize this.....its the management style. The staff does not care because they are paid peanuts! Management treats them like crap. Most of these people are working two and three jobs to make ends meet. So you can tell in their handling of the customers. All I want to say is THANK YOU to show sales associate TIMOTHY from the woman's shoe department. It was such a mix up and run around about one shoe that a manager said was not there, then we're there. It was a lot and ridiculous. All over the place. But he single handedly made everything better. For one he FOUND the shoe. He clearly put more effort than the manager ever attempted! Unfortunately I did her have time to get her name because I just could not. Some highs and lows for this store There are some amazing sales people that work there very helpful and there are some that aren't The lows the store is always an oven especially around the holidays the lines are long it seems they always have one person doing the registers what's more frustrating is they send one on break leaving us with one cashier. The music in the pocket book section across from Starbucks is to Loud very difficult to shop and concentrate I was on the phone I couldn't hear the person on the other line more of the highs! Not only did I feel like the sales representative was dismissive in the lenscrafters but I felt like he was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was trying to inquire about glasses and he was not helpful and made me feel as if I couldn't afford the glasses there. I don't see myself ever returning to this lenscrafters ever and if thats how they do business I don't foresee myself ever shopping there moving forward.
