I never actually rented any tuxes from here, so why am I reviewing it? Well as a member of the…read moreSavvi Formalwear network, they fitted all 6 of my groomsmen plus my dad and brother-in-law, free of charge, and with quality and detail. The wedding was in California so I went with a local Tux shop in Torrance, CA, who told me my NJ groomsmen could and should get fitted at any Savvi Formalwear member in the country, as they knew best how to fit and measure them. I did a web search and found Sarno and Son in Rockaway. I told them I had a lot of guys to get fitted so I scheduled an appointment with them. I went with my guys on a Saturday morning and the employee there happily fitted all my guys. He not only took measurements, he had them try on sample dress shirts, pants and jackets to confirm the measurements. If you needed a neck extender, he wrote it down. If you wanted a tighter fitting shirt to show off your physique, he wrote it down. He filled out the form I gave him for each guy and he handed them to me when he was done. He was such a nice kid, I gave him a nice tip. If I ever were to rent a tux from a place in NJ, this would be the place. While I was waiting for my friends to get fitted, I browsed their book of tuxes, and they even had camouflage tuxes! Oh yeah! P.S. After you make all your friends come here for a fitting, bring them over to nearby Morris Tap and Grill for some craft beer!

I discovered that the seam on my pants had a 2 inch opening in the inner seam on the right leg of the pants. I received an email at 11:00 am on the day the tux had to be returned to remind me about returning the tux. I showed up at the store at opening time (12:00) and had to wait 20 minutes for the worker (in dirty pants) to open the store. When I questioned him as to why they didn't open on time, he said he had to attend a sweet 16 party the night before! Really? I had a wedding the night before! How about taking your job seriously and getting to work on time! I will look for a different store if I need to rent a tux in the future. Poor customer service!

Wide variety (sizes, pricing options, etc.) and beautiful options. Not pushy--willing to give you honest opinions on what truly looks/fits better vs. pushing the more expensive items. My husband and I went to this store to find clothes for attend a friend's upcoming Indian wedding…read more The woman who we spoke to, Ruchi, could not have been more rude! We went in, said hello, mentioned we were looking for Indian wedding clothes. When my husband found something he wanted to try, Ruchi responded and said "you cannot try that on. You said you are just looking, not buying right?" My husband responded by saying "How could I know if I'm buying something if I don't try it on?" She reiterated that since he had stated he was "just looking" that he would not be allowed to try any clothes on. At that point we realized we would not want to shop/buy anything there so we left the store. Thankfully, across the street at Vintage India a very nice young lady assisted us and we had great success in trying on/buying several outfits as was our goal. Ruchi could not have been more rude in response to our friendly hello. It was very upsetting and unexpected. Unclear if she was racist? We are Asian American...perhaps she dislikes Chinese people? Just bizarre and have never been treated so poorly before. We will never step back into this store again!

If you are searching for custom or alterations, especially for wedding dresses, do not hesitate to…read morego to Catherine! I searched everywhere in Manhattan and got lucky when I found Catherine. I was cautious on who I could trust with my over $12,000 Carolina Herrera wedding dress. On top of that, I had a 2nd wedding dress from a sample sale that I needed to get reduced from a size 10 to a size 0. As soon as I had my first consultation with Catherine, I knew I found the right person. Catherine did things with my sample dress that no other alteration specialist in Manhattan would even agree to do for me. She's incredibly reasonable, keeps her word, works extremely quickly, and is an AWESOME seamstress. Also she is a beautiful human being, accommodating for my timeline as I had my wedding delayed due to COVID. For my first wedding dress, she was able to change my entire neckline, changed boning, and hemmed perfectly the endless layers of tulle on a very complicated dress. For my second wedding dress, she brought in the bodice several inches, and took up over a foot of the multi-tiered skirts. She also made the bottom of this dress detachable with a zipper for me. Literally, magic. I am so incredibly grateful. I am adding some pics to my review to show you the difference between the before and afters. I recommend wholeheartedly. Thank you so much!
