I'm laughing as I write...90% of my shopping is done online. ALL of these retailers will be gone in the very near future. Brick and mortar is done. Toast. I honestly don't understand how anybody walks into a store these days to make a purchase? Must be the baby boomer market holding on for dear life. I haven't purchased a "wearable item" from a physical store...in about 17 years. However, my wife convinced me to try The Rack. I was pleasantly surprised. She went her way, I went my way, we met in the middle after 2 hours. The store was crowded and the customers were carelessly shoving unwanted items anywhere. Think Fordham Road meets the Westchester Mall. It's an eclectic mix. The employees, were diligent in trying to keep things in order. I'd be dropping F bombs at these customers. Pigs. I was also pleasantly surprised that an employee approached my wife and I, as we struggled to carry all of our finds, and brought us a cart to make it easier. Really? Wow! Excellent service. I wish I knew her name. Dare I say this...I'll be back! Loved everything we purchased and we saved a bunch of money on designer duds. I'd give 5 stars however...there was an employee drunk in the ladies shoe section. I felt bad for her but she was wasted. Smelled like a bar and kept asking if we needed help. Very nice but confused. At least she wasn't an angry drunk. Still, shouldn't be drinking while working...not a good optic. Had a great experience and will be back each season. I recently visited Nordstrom Rack at City Center with my sister while she went to pick up an online order, and unfortunately the customer service was very disappointing. We were not greeted upon entering, and when my sister approached the register to ask about her pickup order, the employee behind the counter seemed completely uninterested in helping. After my sister explained she had received the pickup email about two weeks ago, the employee immediately said orders are automatically refunded after one week if not picked up. She didn't even bother checking to see if the order might still be there. On top of that, the store itself felt very dim and dingy. The lighting was poor, and several pieces of luggage on display looked dirty and used, especially the wheels. Overall, not a pleasant shopping experience and unfortunately not a place I would return to. read more

In general, Nordstrom Rack has great deals on clothing, shoes, and items for the home. This location, in particular, is conveniently inside the White Plains City Center on the first floor. However, the lines for the checkout are always very long and I often find that the clothing section is disorganized (especially in the sale section). Walked into the store to pick up an order I placed online. Was told it would be ready yesterday on the 22nd, but than it changed to the 23rd. So now I'm here and then being told it's not ready. And they're not sure if it's even gonna be ready today because there's hundreds of orders ahead of mine. I also can't cancel until the order is ready for pick up. Then I'll it'll take another 5 to 7 business days for me to get a refund. Another part of the story which is wild. When I first walked in, there was a man cursing out an employee. I thought man this guy must be crazy. How can you do something like that? But then after my experience with the cashier. I understood she was so nonchalant and dismissive. I buy a lot of clothes, so I'm always looking for high quality fashion at good prices. I come here mostly for shirts--Robert Graham, Bugatchi, Thomas Dean, etc. Like any outlet or discount shop, it's hit or miss. Best day to visit is on delivery day, which is usually Tuesday. You're more likely to find your size and will have a much bigger selection when the store is fully stocked. You can't expect great service on the floor as this is not a boutique. That is not particularly bothersome to me. In fact, I prefer to be left alone when I'm searching for that one or two gems to add to my wardrobe. The prices are marked down considerably from the original price. I sometimes leave with 3 or 4 items; other times with nothing. That's the fun of it. You never know what you might find! This location is not as good as some of the others, but it's close to my home, so I visit here more frequently. read more

I originally only came in here because I was shopping at Target and I still had money on my parking meter so I went to browse Nordstrom Rack. I found so many cute purses in this location that I wanted for myself but I had to control my shopping impulses because the goal was to Christmas shop for others. I found the cutest Steve Madden purse. The line was long which was expected because it's Christmas time. Aida S. was the cashier that assisted me. She was the best, super helpful and pleasant. Like Saks Off 5th and Bloomingdale's Outlet, Nordstrom Rack is (almost) right around the same ballpark. Located at the City Center in Downtown White Plains, Nordstrom Rack, carries designer clothing at a fraction of the cost. Not necessarily cheap, but not over expensive either. A super supple UGG hobo leather bag, for instance, was less than $200- I'll take it! Men's department is oddly doable, Shoe department, lacks for me as I rarely can't find my size 10 heels. But, I will admit, Women's clothing are made well and some, really cute, 3/4 sleeve T-shirts that I like to lounge in or go out with, are just too see-through for me. While I seldomly shop at Nordstrom Rack, their bags always do call my attention. I prefer their Dooney and Bourke and Hobo brands that Off 5th doesn't stock. Their bag section though, is nicely varied with a decent selection of Dooney bags, wristlets and wallets. You'll find a small Beauty section, with high-end brands such as, Estée Lauder and Dr. Perricone products. Without a hitch, though, Nordstrom Rack is straightforward with helpful staff and a decent price tag. read more

Hi, I have never posted a review on yelp but felt this was important to share with others potentially shopping here. I was looking for a dress when I came across this white and blue one. I looked on the bottom thinking since it was long, it had collected a little dust along the bottom while on the rack. This dress was one of 4 others on the rack. I looked closer and realized there was MOLD along the entire bottom of the dress. I brought it to an employee, and was told to just leave it because no manager was within eyesight. After waiting 10 minutes for any manager to show up, I proceeded to ask 3 other employees to see if I can bring this up to a manager, and was told the message will be relayed; to leave it. I was shocked at the indifference by every employee I spoke to about the situation considering the sheer amount of MOLD on this dress. This is dangerous. And every other dress up with this one, in my opinion should've been taken off the rack. It's should have been handled with more urgency and seriousness. I immediately dropped all other items and went to the nearest bathroom to wash my hands, and leave. Really upset, So please make sure to check garments before buying or trying on! Nordstrom has a policy where an item in an online order can't be cancelled MORE THAN AN HOUR after it was purchased. I chatted with them and they just said there was nothing they could do as that was their policy. Nordstrom used to be the home of private shoppers and amazing customer service. I came here with my boyfriend because we really love their Soho location in NYC. This one is a lot closer to us so we figured, why not stop in? As for the store it is pretty large with many nice things. However, everything seems very unorganized. The shoe section is in a super weird order where sizes are kind of just all over the place. The purse section is extremely underwhelming in comparison to how large to store is as a whole. The coats are a mess. They will say medium in one section and you will see a bunch of 2x. There was also a bunch of things thrown on the floor. I didn't see any workers here besides the cashiers. I think this store would greatly benefit by having more people on the floor to organize and assist the guests. All in all I really enjoy a great deal and do see a lot of potential here, just wish it was a bit more put together. read more

The cashier was extremely cold and never had intention to call us to move forward and check out. Neither did Alana F greet me (I said hi first) nor did she help expedite finding the price tag for the sneakers. She did not ask about my loyalty account jnfo and she just stood there. When I asked her to page the person who was checking she just said "He is here"..... Amazon did not take away retail stores' profits. I headed here to check out some of the undergarments that Nordstrom has, having had some luck at Racks in Virginia. I was pretty disappointed with the selection here overall. This Rack is a bit smaller than some of the other ones I've been to, and with a smaller selection overall. It was a bit messy and disorganized, with not a lot of merchandise being put back where it belongs. Overall, I'm left pretty disappointed in this location, particularly as compared to other ones I've been to. read more

Seriously killer deals! If you take your time you can find some amazing designer deals but I also love coming here to stock up on basics. This location is my favorite because it's not as crazy as the NYC locations but they still have a great selection. I have a large shoe size and I can always find what I'm looking for from heels to sneakers they have it all. The staff doesn't harass you but are more than willing to answer questions. The line can get a bit long but if you go in the evening it's usually not that bad plus I love looking at all the trinkets that have at the check out. Overall a great hidden gem! read more

I should start by saying I was never much of a Nordstrom Rack fan to begin with, however I ordered a bunch of stuff online recently before vacation. Needless to say, a couple things didn't fit, so I went to this location in White Plains to return those items. While here, I decided to look around first and possibly make an exchange. I was a bit surprised to see the deplorable condition of this location in comparison to other Rack locations. At Rack stores in the past I have found merchandise to be more or less grouped together in appropriate categories, and placed on racks in size order that was more or less accurate. HOWEVER, at this rack location I found many of the racks to just be a jumbled up mess of merchandise. You were lucky if tops and bottoms were separated. There was little to no size organization, even though different racks displayed signs saying so. Then there was the return: everything started off smoothly, albeit all the employees I encountered at this location seemed as though they were having one of the worst days ever, judging by their attitude. What shocked me, having worked in retail in the past myself, was when the employees scanned each item to be returned, he then took a PERMANENT SHARPIE MARKER, and wrote the current selling price DIRECTLY ON THE FABRIC thereby ruining it. After the return was completed the employee then threw all the returned merchandise on the floor behind him. I've honestly never seen anything quite like it, and its safe to say that I will not be returning to this RACK location anytime soon. read more

I always find the rack to be really hit or miss. When I come here with no intention of buying clothes I usually end up buying something but if I come looking for something specific, like a dress, I never make a purchase. I think the key to shopping here is being open buying something simply because you like it rather than looking for something specific. read more

Recently talked with store supervisor, very nice young man. Everything Nordstrom carries over to all of its subsidiaries. So, will make an effort to greet him personally, get to know him, and possibly pick up something. Called about tailoring a pair of Vince trousers purchased at Union Square store, suggested the tailor at The Westchester Nordstrom, which I have utilized last year, and is phenomenal. So, because of his attitude and suggestion, upped my review. And I really like Nordstrom Rack as well. read more

I have never had a problem with Nordstrom Rack before. I am a frequently shopper. But what happened today deserves a review so I can be heard. The manager called Terri was disrespectful and racist. I was with my mom and my baby and we were at the register when one item was not ringing out the price it said on the tag. My cashier said that the item was not on clearance and I said that several sizes of the same item was in the same rack. The manager Terri was next to her. I requested for someone to double check that was i was saying was true and to go to the rack. Suddenly Terri said that the tag was not the same as the item. So I was ok with it, and I decided not to take the item. And kept saying that the tag was not the right one. After that, the manager kept looking and my clothes and she kept saying to the cashier: Check her clothes, make sure the tags match her clothes. I may look straight Latina but I speak English fluently. So In my mind, I was like what is that she trying to say? I didn't say nothing about that, at that time. After that, she kept looking at my cashier and all my clothes, and suddenly one of my other items had a tag of $20 and it was supposed to be $10 because of the extra 50% discount. She took the item (a romper) and I said I had taken the item from the clearance section. So she said, this is not the right tag for this item. And she took the stickers and threw them in the garbage. I said: The sticker says $20 and what says in the sticker is what I am going to pay. She said: that is not the right tag. So I said: that is not my problem. That's your problem. You have to check that your merchandise matches the item before somebody takes it. She then said: well the tag is $69. I was already upset about the whole situation where she was implying that we have changed the stickers. I asked her: So why exactly is that you were telling to check every single one of my items? And then she said: well it's because when an item is next to another the tags can be confused....so In my mind I am thinking: sooooo the tag would just jump from one item to another? Then I asked: where are the red stickers that were there? She said that she had thrown them in the garbage, so I made her take the stickers out of there because she was saying that the sticker said $69. I requested to speak to the store manager. And I also requested that they check the cameras. When the manager came. Terri said to the store manager that the problem was that the red sticker were put on top of the romper. Which is a lie because those stickers were on top of the tag. I waited until she finished telling her side of the story. She never mentioned what had happened prior nor what she was saying to the cashier. I explained to the manager what really had happened. I was sooooo upset. I understand English perfectly well, and implying that we have changed tags and trying to lie about what really happened is just disappointing. How many people that do not speak English go through this, and do not even understand what is being said. My daughter was crying, my mom (who doesn't speak English) didn't know what was going on and I was (I am) beyond upset. The store manager was very nice, she was very understanding and sensitive about this situation. My cashier was great. It is not fair that good hard working people pay for the rest. But a bad review is usually heard by the company. I don't want this to happen to nobody else. Looking to be personally offended by company employees? Than this is the place for you. Some of this store's employees are wonderful, like 'Dominique' who couldn't have been more courteous. On the other hand, you have these creatures with lip rings sitting behind the registers like 'Jazmin S.' who prove that Nordstroms does not drug test their employees. After waiting for 15 on the line to buy a $25 shirt, this upstanding citizen and employee could not utter a 'hello', 'how are you', 'did you find everything okay', nope...nothing more than "You wanna sign up for a Nordstrom card?". And after replying verbatim in a friendly tone as always, "no thank you" she mutters "mhhmmmm, yea I'm sure you don't need one anyhow" as I'm swiping my bank credit card. It was noticeable enough that the customer behind me in line asks "what did she just say?". As my receipt is printing I stood in shock. She hands me my receipt, she doesn't say thank you or anything aside from 'whateva' after I take hold of the receipt in my hand. Furious as myself and my family have spent tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars over 20 years of shopping at Nordstrom's and Nordstrom Rack, I decided to give the company a chance to resolve it first. I called the store to speak to the manager on 2 occasions in which I never received a call back either time. I submitted a survey at the bottom of my receipt and received no response either. So here we are on social media 3 weeks later and thank goodness for it. Maybe this review will inspire others to post up their stories of insults from this store on Yelp and perhaps things will change but as it stands it seems Nordstrom's doesn't care about their long term, high-profit, loyal customers. read more

This store has after market Nordstrom merchandise! They have everything from shoes, watches, clothes to perfume and makeup! The one thing that has impressed me most about this store is the shoe selection. Its organized by size! I can't tell you how many times I've gone into DSW see a shoe I like get excited only to realize they don't have it in my size. The way this is setup you know exactly what's available in your size. I have big feet, I'm a size 11 sometimes a 12 and this store has 2 yes 2 rows of shoes for large women's feet. They even have a Large Shoe event a few times a year where they open up more racks of large size shoes for both men and women. Bravo! Let me first start by saying this review is based solely on my experience with a certain employee at this location. My only reason for visiting this store was to return a pair of boots I ordered on the hautelook website. As I stood online I noticed all of the employees and their interactions with each customer, when I was my turn to be called I immediately saw the cashiers facial expression change. I brushed it off and walked up to the register, at the same time my bag brushed up against the gift bags causing one to fall on the floor. Before I could even turn around to acknowledge what I did, she said with an attitude you dropped something. So I said oh my fault and turned around to pick it up. Through the whole return process she was curt and rude, very unprofessional. My only regret was I didn't get her name to put in this review, the store wasn't put together nicely at all by the way. All item s bought in Mass by family members at Nordstrm rack in Mass. I had some difficulty with tags and receipts.. The teller was excellent,cordial and professional. We hit some obstacles and the teller took the time and effort to get the Mgr involved-Chris-extremely helpful,professional and caring Definitely an assets to Nordstrom Rack.. the obstacle was handled and solved to my satisfaction and then some. I wish I had gotten Chris s last name. We of course then spent additional money in the store. Nordstrom Rack also now has two new customers, my wife and I, even though we come a long distance. I wish I had gotten the tellers name, she was the closest teller to the door. Very Pleasant. We also came in contact with numerous other staff members while we were there all were just unbelievable, friendly,courteous,helpful and gracious. What a wonderful experience. The prices at this store are pretty good but the customer service is crappy. I was there with my husband on 10/22/19 around 6 pm. We were waiting online to checkout for a while, when one of the cashiers freed up, I barely moved up when she barked at me, I'm not ready yet and started placing clothes in hangers and picking up calls, which was fine, but she could've said in a proper way, i will be with you shortly or whatever. She still going when the other cashier frees up. We get to the counter, no hello, not a word from cashier Khari Bs mouth. So my saint of a husband pays and says thank you and still not a word from her mouth, we were buying an umbrella and she didn't bother to put in a shopping bag, I then hear my husband say "can i please have a bag, thank you" and then I hear cashier say "you're welcome, I appreciate your manners" So when you go here make sure you beg for a shopping bag and give THEM good customer service. So i wander in here, Kool i'll come back and get it at the end of the week if its still there. So i start looking around. I found this adorable candle for 3.00. i saved 9.00 dollars on it. I have been a loyal costumer for the last 4 years. Two years ago my Mother had a bad experience in the shoe department.....But one employee came to her rescue. cant remember her exact name ,but a very sweet Hispanic woman sweet talked my mother into purchasing 5 pairs of boots , instead of 1 (one).My Mother was very Pleased with this Hispanic employee. Her experience with the Hispanic employee was outstanding, and she made may Mother feel welcome My Aunt came in last july and told me the same thing ,that she also had a bad experience with the susenda person. She just told me recently and that it is why I'm gonna have to stop shopping there. I did ask around for this employees name,I was told her name is susenda...sorrenda....Something Like that.This employee has a very condescending attitude. Not very very good...Not happy when my Family is treated in such manner.As I have heard other employees complain about her. Nordstrom Rack carries designer items at discount prices. It is not as well priced as TJ Maxx or Marshalls for designer items but they often carry a larger inventory of designer goods. You have to be patient and willing to sort through items to find good deals. My biggest gripe is the customer service. Don't expect the same level of customer service regular Nordstrom provides. Their cashiers are extremely slow and the line is always unbearable!! There have been times I just walked out because I couldn't wait in line any longer. Today was the worst experience however. After standing and waiting on a long line at the front, a cashier opening up another register comes and gets people from the back of the line. This was just completely wrong. What about everyone towards the front who had already been waiting for 20 minutes! When I said something she just ignored me. I really try to avoid shopping here. read more
