The staff was incredible and the shoe selection is great. This is not a huge warehouse, but the inventory has a great selection of sneakers. I brought my 82-year-old Mother to the store and Andy took good care of her. He brought out a selection of shoes for her to try on, he was able to explain how the sneaker supported different muscles and parts of the feet. He even helped her get the shoes on. This is an excellent shoe-shopping experience if you are accompanying a Senior. The staff is patient, but they do their job fast. I have big feet and many places don't have a great selection with extra width sizes but com fit shoes on central Ave in Scarsdale does and I am glad I visited . Good selection of men's and ladies footware from sporty , casual , dress , etc and prices and service are two thumbs up . The gentleman who helped me was a kind dude who showed me about 6 pairs of casual sneakers and was knowledgeable explaining who , what and why . After 10 minutes I decided on three pairs and we'll worth the reasonable cost . I've gone to Con Fit for many years and I've always been incredibly impressed with the staff's knowledge and skills regarding what's best for my feet. They also specialize in providing orthotics which many of us need when we begin to feel pain in our arches. I went to Com-Fit yesterday because I had purchased special orthotics through a podiatrist but after wearing them in my shoes, instead of feeling better, I was having additional discomfort. Fortunately, Bill Liebman saw the problem and explained that I had been fitted with orthotics for a dress shoe and it wasn't providing the stability in my sneakers! I walked out with the right orthotics for my new shoes and realized I could have saved a few hundred dollars had I gone to Com-Fit when I first began to have foot pain. Com-Fit has been in business for over thirty years and they have a great selection of shoes in all different sizes. In general, the store and service are good and past experiences have all been good but my latest visit was not. I tried on a pair of shoes and when I said I'd take them I showed the postcard they had sent me for a $12 discount and then paid. When I got home I noticed on the receipt that the cost of the shoes before discount was $5 more than I had seen on the box when trying them on. So I looked at the box and saw that the sales woman had sloppily put a new sticker over the old one raising the price by $5. I wouldn't have minded if when she saw the postcard she said they couldn't apply the discount without taking a loss or something similar, but to try to slip this by is not cool. At the suggestion of my podiatrist, I went to Com-Fit shoes yesterday. Bill,one of the shoes salesmen was extremely helpful in finding me supportive sneakers and sandals for my long and flat feet. I felt like I was at a "shoe salon" . The customer service was exceptional. Bill took the time and shared knowledge of how arch supports worked as well as how to properly use a shoe horn, lol. He was very personable and patient with me. Though my purchase was expensive, I would say that it was worth it. I was educated on what to look for in a supportive shoe or sneaker. Arrived at the store at 4:43 to quickly check it out. The sign on the door said "open Sunday till 5," and customers were in the store. The salesperson looked directly at us as we tried open the door (which was locked), but he didn't even address us! We stood there for about a minute, but he looked at us again and walked away! I would never purchase anything from this merchant again nor would I recommend this place to family and friends. Merchants made no attempt to welcome me into the store,However the gentleman who took care of me managed to be cordial. The item that I purchased was over priced and didn't fit my needs so I returned it. Upon entering the store to return the item which was early in the morning no one greeted me nor did anyone say thank you upon my departure. Customer service means everything to me . Ok, so normally, I'm not one to criticize, but my only experience here was not a good one. I had come in to the store because I was looking for some shoes that would provide more support since I have I have foot and ankle problems from having high arches that collapse and breaking my ankle twice and having two screws in my ankle (which affects the nerves). Now I am young, (only in my 20's), and not the typical clientele for "orthopedic" shoes, but my needs are real and I heard that this place had shoes by good brands that were cute too! While the shoes were really cute, and looked comfortable, I was never able to even try anything on. I had walked through the entire store, looking at shoes on the wall, picking them up, feeling the insole and padding for 15 MINUTES and NO ONE bothered to help me or even ask if I needed any help. While there were only 2 other customers in the store, I had 2 sales associates walk right past me and stare at me, but no one bothered to attempt to help me. I mean, seriously, 15 minutes! That is a long time to be waiting and wandering a store hoping someone will assist you. or at least notice that your a customer in need of help. For the price and quality of the shoes ($100 and up), I'd expect the customer service to be a lot better. In fact, I've gotten better customer service and attention from Payless Shoe Source than I have from Com-Fit Shoes. I got the feeling from this store that they didn't think I was a serious customer since I am so young (and probably not who they expect to be shopping there). Go here if you want to find comfortable shoes and expert fitters. Marnie (sp?) has been a lifesaver for me.... I am used to going to shoe stores where nothing fits well, and the best shoes I can find are a "B" -- they leave blisters and marks even when they are from "comfortable" brands. Marnie diagnosed my issue quickly (an unnaturally high instep, which makes most shoes rub up on me on top) and picked out shoes that would sidestep (ha) my issue. I seriously could have walked out with any shoe she recommended and have had happy feet... I limited myself to 3 pairs. You're not going to find manolos here, nor are the shoes uber pretty. But if you like comfort brands (aerosoles, Clark's, naturalizer, etc) you are going to love their expertise. And also- they are in the bottom floor of what looks like an office building and fairly set back from the street. Com-Fit Shoes is a store I'm always glad to visit. The owner and staff have an enormous body of expertise. With just a glance, the proprietor easily described my fitting challenges (wide ball, curly toes, ultra-high arch, and narrow heel). WIthout wasting any time having me try shoes that can't accommodate that combination of challenges, he identified just two designs: An almost perfect pair of dancing shoes (very hard to find the right combination of style and comfort--alas, this pair didn't handle my ultra-low ankle bones). Next I tried a great looking pair of jogging shoes (I bought them). With all that, I walked out in under 15 minutes.
