I have been to Tranquility Spa over the years and enjoyed great massages and fabulous facials. What I am compelled to share today is my experience with LASER HAIR REMOVAL. First, I cannot explain in one online review how self conscious I have been my entire life about the thick black hair on my legs. Waxing always left me with ingrown hairs, shaving didn't last but a few hours, I couldn't shave daily because it'd give me red bumps, etc. Finally, after years of hating to shave, wear shorts or skirts because the hair on my legs grows so quickly, I broke down and bought a package. I was at Tranquility for a facial with the awesome Maria and we were talking about laser. She suggested I try, told me about the success of her other clients and I decided to try. This past Sunday I had my second full leg treatment. When I returned home, I asked my husband to feel my leg because I could not believe how smooth it was already, after only 2 treatments. He touched my leg and said, "WOW." I only wish I had done this in my 20s so I could have enjoyed all the years of dresses, skirts and shorts with no regrets. Bottom line, this machine works! Maria is awesome, and if you're even thinking about maybe you should or shouldn't, RUN, DON'T WALK to Tranquility, see Maria and get it done! Love it here! Went with my mom as a early Christmas gift, we got full body stone massages and facials. My massage was excellent!!! I will definitely be going back. My facial was really good, and the lady who did my facial was super friendly and really nice. The place is stopless!! Excellent staff. Everyone was super friendly and professional and you can't beat the pricing here either. Very affordable for something that I thought was a luxury. The facility was clean and relaxing... especially the locker rooms, which is always a plus! As for the services, I got the deep tissue massage as well as the 30 minute reflexology. My therapist was great.. she was professional and knew what she was doing. I think the only [con] that i had was the awkwardness of being in a low lit room with someone I didn't know for an hour. My mom and I went to the spa to get massages for my birthday, and were very pleased with our experience. The spa is beautiful and clean, staff extremely friendly, and the massages were excellent! The price is as good as it gets for Westchester, and I will DEFINITELY be back on a more regular basis. I really wish there was a sauna in addition to the fantastic steam room. Went to Tranquility for the first time Tuesday, February 17 for a bikini wax.... I had the best experience ever! The front desk staff were very friendly! Took my coat, walked me downstairs, offered me the complimentary snacks... My wax professional, Carla, was THE BEST! Very efficient ;-), friendly, talked me through the process, DID NOT DOUBLE DIP, and made the experience nearly painless! I will definitely be back and will ask for Carla! read more

My first visit was truly great!! I was greeted right away and taken on a quick tour downstairs. The place is pretty , relaxing and clean. The locker was a little small but still nice and clean. I liked how they had little snacks out ( cookies , dried fruit ). I waited about 10 minutes ( I was early ) until I was called. I was a little disappointed I was called 5 minutes after my service time and not given that time back. I had a body scrub with Carla. She is truly a sweetheart ! Carla was friendly , helpful and gave a great scrub. Took a quick rinse and was surprised the service was over. Usually you lay back down and they apply cream. My skin was silky smooth. I than had a massage with Natasha. She was also friendly , understood my problem areas and gave a good massage. Was it amazing ? No. But still a good massage. i've been here a couple times i try to go here annually. I love the massages and facials. Planned a girls spa day and never in my life have i felt more uncomfortable and really knowing the meaning of "fat shaming". The woman who was in the reception walked us down to the lockers and had to tell us multiple times that she needed to take our the larger robes for everyone but MINE because larger robe will" definitely fit me". My daughter and I went here this evening for facials. We loved it. They were very friendly at the front desk. We were promptly taken down to the gorgeous seating area and within minutes we were taken to our rooms for our facials. Terry was very nice and explained everything in detail and took care with me since it was my first facial. She was extremely professional and did a great job. My 12 year old loved the services she received from Samantha as well. I'm happy to know this spa is close by in a convenient location with parking. We will definitely be back. read more

BAIT & SWITCH BEWARE Don't buy a gift certificate! I called to make an appointment with a gift I received. I told the receptionist I want to book a massage for the one that was paid for with the gift Certificate and she said ok. After I received my massage they said there was an extra charge for the extra services. What extra service? They claimed I booked for a different package. I hope the $40 extra they wanted was worth a BAD REVIEW, No recommendation and no repeat customer. Buyers beware! Plus the Massage was not top notch! Love this spa! My favorite as compared to others in the area! Went here soo many times and each experience was amazing! The customer service is excellent from the minute you walk in to the minute you leave! They treat you like you are special and that it is your day, everything about you! I have driven by Tranquilty Spa a million times and finally, for my birthday, I got a Swedish massage and it was fabulous! The facilty was beautiful and very clean. As you walk through the building there is calming music that plays. The staff was very nice and helpful. They provide a very comfy robe for you, slippers, and a locker to place your things. The changing room was clean and warm. My masseuse was friendly and tailored my massage to my liking. My experience way just great! I highly recommend. read more

I called to make an appointment for a massage a week in advance. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment. When I told the receptionist I was there for a 2:00 appointment and gave my name, she wouldn't even look at me and was very curt. She didn't check the computer for the appointment but said they had no appointment for me. I asked her to check again and said I made the appointment a week ago. She was adamant that they had no appointment for me. Never looked me in the eye, never checked the computer. I believe they are racist and I recommend to anyone who isn't white, don't bother with this place. They are quite hostile and don't deserve your business. Pretty good location; all the services are done in the basement. Its clean, quiet, you have tea, snacks if you like. As far as massage (thats the only service i had there) its good, if you get an experienced massage therapist; they all are different of course even though you always get an answer like: they are all very good. Tranquility Spa has been one of the best things to happen to me in quite a while. Hit by a car in 2010 I promised myself a spa day as soon as I was well enough. Tranquility has far surpassed my expectations! I called to set up a half day of pamper in May of 2011. The gentleman who answered the phone went out of his way to make it work, as I called only a week before I wanted to come in. Going in I was very nervous but from the moment I stepped in the door I was made to feel welcome. Being that it was the first time I was there, one of the girls from the desk walked me to the dressing room, explaining how to get ready and what the spa has to offer before and after the services. Changing into a robe I was a little apprehensive about going into the waiting area but being that everyone else is wearing the same thing you really don't feel out of place. I got a massage, a facial and a body treatment. Each service was luxurious. Since then I have mixed the treatments so that I could try as many as possible. My routine has become one massage a month with a day of pamper every three months. I ask for Ann Marie for the massages as I have fallen in love with her! She remembers you and what your needs are. Every time I go she is there with a smile to greet me. She asks if there is a particular area that I would like her to pay attention to or if there is anything that she should avoid. The spa is truly a beautiful experience. The atmosphere is calm and soothing. Each area of the spa is beautiful and tastefully done. The dressing rooms, sauna, and showers are available to you before or after your service(s). They are immaculate as it is constantly maintained. The waiting area is calming and serene with subdued lighting and soft music, with many sofas to lounge on, lemon water to drink and a few nibbles. I cannot say enough about the spa and wonderful experiences there except for the fact that I wish I could go once a week! read more

Love this place it's my little escape. Sometimes you get one or two therapists or aestheticians which are mediocre But over all I love it there. You feel like u escaped and you come out feeling rejuvenated. I wish there was more of a space to relax inside the locker room area especially after a steam and shower. While they have couches in the lounge it's cooed and i'm not that keen on that experience. I would also suggest when u get a massage therapist that talks too much remind them u are there to relax. They also have great promos throughout the year so I always suggest using those to test the place out. This week you can get a massage for $75! while it's still a lot of money - it's better than $125! :-) read more

I love the place, its quiet, clean, has a clean steam room, shower and area to dry your hair. Massage was great, the therapist is knowledgeable and kind. This place was sooo relaxing and the entire environment is so serene. You might want to bring your own slippers as I found the public ones sort of gross. I had a facial, body salt scrub (don't do this if you have any cuts!), manicure, massage, and I forget what else. It was so wonderfully relaxing, especially before a big event. LOVE tranquility spa. I've literally been going here since high school. I know some of those "massage envy" like places can be cheaper but i think tranquility spa is worth the little extra. Their prices are listed on their website and they always have specials going on, especially over holidays. For facials or any waxwings I love going to Anna. She's amazing. My eye brows have never been so perfectly full and even, and after leaving a facial my face is glowing and looks so clear. She also does a great bikini wax (no pain at all). As for massages I usually see Michelle or Alicia. They both are very sweet and give a great massage. I always leave feeling very relaxed. Another great plus is their locker room. Your given a locker and key with a comfy robe and slippers. They have changing rooms, showers and a very nice steam room which I always sit in after my massages. There's only a few complaints I've had with tranquility. Once while in the waiting room a girl was sitting with broccoli cheddar soup and a sandwich from Panera bread. It stunk up the entire waiting area and she was slipping her soda and eating her food very loudly. I was surprised no one told her to leave. I got annoyed and so were a few others in the waiting area so I said something to the staff and she was quickly asked to finish her food upstairs. One other time I had had a horrible massage with a woman who smelled of complete cigarette smoke. I myself do not smoke and hate the smell - for someone to smoke and come in reeking of an ash tray is unprofessional. However I will say when I told the girls at the front desk they called the manager for me and he quickly apologized and gave me a gift card to come back and try someone new. That's when I tried Michelle for the first time and had a great experience and i will continue to go to her for my massages. Over all I will continue to go back. Every place has little hiccups but it's how they handle it and tranquility handled it well.. They have great staff and a pretty place .. I would definitely recommend tranquility read more

The several Swedish massages that I've had at Tranquility have been mediocre. I was disappointed given the high Yelp reviews. Doubly so because my dear husband had researched the highest rated spa in Westchester (research is something he abhors) and bought me gift certificates to here as a lovely gift. I've had massages from the entire spectrum of spas, from expensive international resorts to divey joints where no one speaks real English. And for the price that Tranquility charges I've found them to be overrated. Now they do have a nice lounge area with cookies for their guests and the bathrooms and rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Plus service is professional. But at the end of the day I'm paying for the quality of the massage. I've tried different masseuses here and have been underwhelmed each time. read more

I come to Tranquility about every other month, usually for an hour or 1.5 hour deep tissue massage. I love the ambiance, particularly as it's very plush, clean and the waiting area always has cookies and water for you to enjoy. The keys to the lockers are also a special touch, as the whole experience of getting prepared for your services always seems like a luxury process. I've never had a bad massage here, and this is after going alone dozens of times over the past two years and also for the occasional couples massage. I highly recommend Louisa, who is very strong and attentive. Cons: While I've never had a bad massage, I did have one, isolated bad experience a while back at Tranquility. During my full body treatment with a male masseuse, I was heavily hit on and offered a personal massage at my home for a fraction of the cost. I never reported the incident, because I didn't want the poor man to lose his job, and from then on only requested women. Also, to my knowledge, this gentleman no longer works at Tranquility, which is a relief. If I had another complaint, it would also be that no matter how much I come in, no one ever seems to remember me. At which point I get the question of if I've ever been there before, which clearly, I've been there very often. Perhaps it's turnover on the front desk, but the place could use a more personalized touch. Again, I recommend it. It's a beautiful spa with great massage ability. read more

Today's visit not sure where to start First of all she starts 8 minutes past my time then she never asked me like other places do ask any particular places you like me to focus more Then she must of scratched me numerous time with her nails going up and down my back (painful) a lot more but to top it off we had paid for 30 minutes extra for our feet and what a waist of money All she did to my feet was squeezing different points that's all for 20 minutes but I paid for 30 My last time here very very disappointed read more

I purchased the "Day of Pamper" package, initially I was impressed with the décor and ambience of the spa. After changing into my robe and slippers I started my package with the Swedish massage; I was so excited....I kept hoping it would get better, unfortunately it never did. The therapist reeked of cigarette smoke and instead of a massage it felt as if she was just applying lotion....for an hour and a half!!! No attention was given to the areas that she asked about (shoulders and back) but honestly it wouldn't have mattered, she applied ZERO pressure. When I commented, she responded "This isn't a deep tissue massage, a lot of people get Swedish and deep tissue confused". I've had both, I know the difference! This wasn't a massage PEROID, it was an application of lotion! Next up, the facial....AMAZING (done by Carla)!!!!!!!! The same therapist did the facial and the seaweed wrap...they both exceeded expectations and truly saved the day (which by the way was my birthday). Carla managed to educate me during the facial and wrap without being to chatty and maintaining the relaxing vibe; I would defiantly return and choose another massage therapist. read more

This was a great gift. Great customer service and very professional. I had a Swedish message and I wish I could visit this place every weekend. I felt so spoiled. Extremely clean and 'tranquil' atmosphere. I didn't know I could get into a spa as much as I did. My father and two brothers also went and had very positive experiences as well. Thank you mom for giving us a great Father's Day gift - it was the best and I will definitely return. They do have strict cancellation policy but as long as you cancel within 24 hours, they don't penalize you. I think that' s pretty fair. read more

Used to be a nice place but not anymore. Terrible Customer Service. Steam Room Under Construction/not available. Made an appointment yesterday for a 1.5 hour deep tissue. Arrived 30 minutes prior to use the Steam -- changed into robe - NO STEAM, it is under construction? So I walked upstairs - in my robe - and she told me the best she could do was allow me to reschedule. WHAT? I'm already in my robe - you didn't tell me when I booked it, you didn't mention it when I checked in -- now that I'm naked you want me to reschedule? So I go read magazines and wait for my massage, which is decent. On the way out someone asks "how was everything" - I reply "Not as expected" - she says, "OK, well, thanks for coming, your gratuity was already in the payment so you are all good to go" -- Wait WHAT?? It was like they were all brainwashed into ignoring all non-positive statements. They had 2 CHANCES to make a customer's experience better and did nothing with either. All they had to do was offer a pass to come back and use the steam when construction was complete or give me a 10% off your next visit - anything, something! Instead - THEY LOST A CUSTOMER AND GOT THIS REVIEW - I recommend that everyone GO SOME PLACE ELSE, there has to be a better option! read more

I'm usually pretty happy with this place except for this past mother's day. I made a reservation for mommy dearest... as a SURPRISE... I specifically asked the receptionist for my mother not to be called (she's a prior customer so they already had her # on file) for the confirmation because it was a SURPRISE! But of course...who do they call?! Mommy dearest... I was thoroughly disappointed and my mother's day surprise was ruined.
