Most important for me at nail salons is the cleanliness and I will say that Tranquility Day Spa/Salon is clean. I fear unsanitary nail salons for their risk of fungal infections and always worry about how they clean tools/ facilities. Upon arrival I found that the smell was pleasant, the pedicure stations were clean and had footbath liners (which helps minimize sharing of germs) and all the tools were periodically cleaned by the nail specialists. I even watched one of the ladies wash out the footbath after removing the liner. Thus, I would recommend this place above many others. I came here on a Saturday to get a pedicure around 1pm. Prior to this, I had contacted them on yelp on Thursday in hopes of making an appointment ahead of time for efficiency. The yelp response was fast and efficient and she confirmed that I had an appointment on Saturday. However, when I called to confirm on Saturday morning, the receptionist could not find my name on the list, asked me to come in at 5pm instead and then finally decided that I could come in at 1:30 pm. Upon arrival I was greeted by a pleasantly clean room (see photo) which was filled with customers. There was only one girl waiting ahead of me, but when I reached the receptionist he, again, could not find my reservation. He said there was some confusion between yelp scheduling and phone scheduling, but could not find my name anywhere. Instead he asked me to wait in the queue. Luckily there was only that one girl ahead of me - I waited about 20 minutes which would be reasonable, had I not already tried to schedule an appointment. Other than this appointment confusion everything else was great. The pedicure itself was nice they switched between two girls in the middle of my pedicure which left a little to be desired since there was no sign-out on what was being done. However, both girls were polite and checked in with me. They were extremely busy so service was not as great as expected - they didn't offer water or explain the use of the massage chairs as many spas will do. However, the nail clipping was good, the leg massage and paraffin treatment was also very nice. The painting itself was a little messy, but much better than I can do at home by myself and they coated it well. They also provided me toe separators (new - so they were clean) and as my sandals were not suitable to dry in, they provided me fresh flip flops. The entire pedicure with shoes cost me $25 + tip. They also rushed me out, but I will attribute this to their busy state on a Saturday. Overall, very clean - which is a TREMENDOUS plus. However, difficulty with scheduling. Otherwise, service is decent, maybe a bit crowded on weekends I will definitely be back for more pedicures - perhaps not on a weekend and recommend calling to schedule an appointment rather than yelp. read more

Finally, I made the visit after having this nail shop bookmarked for a while now. My friend invited me to a nail day on a weekday afternoon. From her frequent visits, she made us an appointment as this shop appears to be quite busy... and it was! The door seemed to have a endless jingle with many customers coming in for their scheduled appointments. Inside is spacious with many pedi and mani stations and lots of nail practitioners. I was overwhelmed by their nail selection! I needed time to choose my selection and ended up showing a picture of what I wanted done and the practitioners choose for me! My artist, Teresa, had great attention to detail taking her time with each part of the manicure. I would definitely request her in the future. After I was done the paint job looked like it was already a week old because they painted so far from the cuticles. Mani chipped and peeled less than 48 hours after. First and last visit. Walked in to my appointment for a dip mani, and was only given two color wheels to select from. Lmao alright I guess. I had two different ladies doing my nails, one of them did the beginning & end of my service, and the other lady did my manicure. The first lady was not friendly at all and hardly said a word to me. Didn't even bother letting me know that my nails were finished, she just got up and left once she was done with me. The other lady was nice, but this experience did not make up for the first lady's attitude. I had a previous dip manicure on when I came in, and the way they attempted to remove it was strange to say the least. The foils were wrapped on my nails for at least an hour, which is never acceptable. They thought that using electric heated hand mittens would be an efficient way of removing my old manicure, but it honestly did nothing. For some reason, using the drill was a last resort for them and I ended up having to endure sitting for longer than I had to in a nail salon that I didn't feel welcome in. read more

I love that they are clean, consistent, and friendly here. Super efficient service and nice gals working here. I also like that their nail polish offerings are huge and new. The first time they cut two of my fingers from filing which bled quite a bit. My regular nail salon was closed so I decided to try this place because of the good reviews. First time going to this place and it started out well. I like how they took off my dip powder with a nail file (more gentle) and put my hands in a warmer. However, my appointment was at 10 and they left my hands in the warmer (checked on me twice though) for an hour. They didn't start actually taking off my nails until 11. It looked like the person who I had an appointment with was really busy and did two other peoples nails before me, so I was basically just sitting there waiting for her- didn't appreciate how the appointment was managed. Secondly, they didn't use a mechanical file to file the dip powder around my nail bed edges, they just used a regular nail file. I admit, the surface was actually smooth, but the edges of my nail were already lifting three days later. Thirdly, one my dip powder nails completely chipped on the third day...that has never happened and I've been getting dip powder done at multiple places for two years now. I went into the salon to get it fixed and I really appreciate how they took my in quickly and didn't make me pay for the fix. However, it took 1 hr and 15 mins to fix one nail Two days later, another nail chipped! I appreciate them fixing my nail for free but I don't have time or money to go to the salon 3 times for nails that honestly aren't that great. I have been coming here for about a year now, I needed to find a new salon during COVID as my previous nail salon was not practicing safety measures during COVID. I found this gem on a whim after looking on Yelp. I have felt very safe getting my manicures and pedicures here, all the ladies are masked and they sanitize between customers. They have always done an excellent job on pedicures and manicures, I can now go three weeks between shellac appointments versus my previous two weeks. I'm sitting in my chair now in a paraffin dip for my "deluxe pedicure" after a massage an "extended" hot stone massage of literally one minute. Very disappointed in my service so far with this manicurist. I've come here once before and had great service but from the get-go this lady has been rude. I had an appt at 9:30, walked in at 9:26 to see others were already in chairs-they open at 9:30 so I was waiting in my car until then but walked in after I saw others going in. I still had a few min before my appt so I was looking for my polish and my manicurist says, "just pick a color and can you sit down in the chair" and I thought she was just directing me to the chair I would sit in but after 10 seconds she says again, "can you pick a color and sit down?" Again I didn't think she meant "go sit down now" So I said "okay I'm just choosing a color, I'll be right there." Mind you it just hit 9:30. So she tells me one more time, "can you just pick some colors and take it with you and sit down?" Okay.... So I grab a few bottles, hadn't had a chance to really look, and go and sit down. She asks me what I want and I told her I was scheduled for a deluxe pedicure. Which is supposed to include: Deluxe Pedicure $40 Extended Spa Pedicure That Includes Soak In Sea Salt, Callus Treatment, Exfoliating Sea Salt Or Sugar Scrub, Masque With Hot Towel And Paraffin Treatment, Extensive Hot Stone Massage, And Polish Application I did not get a soak in sea salt, barely a soak at all because she was rushing, it was probably a 3 min soak before she started cutting cuticles and cut right into my skin on one toe so I will have to treat that before an infection-no apology after I said "ooh, ouch" just her quickly dabbing the blood off my toe and adding what I hope was disinfectant. The callus treatment was again about a minute and the exfoliating sea salt and sugar scrub, maybe a good minute and half before she hurriedly added lotion and rubbed the hot stones on my legs, no kidding about 3 times up and down. That was the "extensive" stone massage, what a joke. I get being busy and in a rush but what the heck am I paying for? She quickly put my feet in a paraffin dip and wrapped it hurriedly with a towel before jetting off to do another pedi. Oh, lest I forget asking her about adding a mani if there was time. "We will see, since you only made an appt for a pedicure" Yet there are walk-ins coming in asking for mani & pedis and the ladies next to me were asked if they'd also like manicures‍. And the lady next to me? She came in before me and got the same deluxe pedi and her massage was still going while I was sitting in the paraffin post my 1-2 min massage. ‍ My manicurist left to do another pedi so I'm kind of glad for that since the other two who did my nails and toes were very nice. I don't think I got the deluxe treatment but I will still leave a good tip since the other two were nice and did a decent job. Will probably visit another salon in the future. I've come to tranquility around 5 times since it's very close to my work and have had excellent service every time! The staff are efficient and skilled! I would definitely recommend making an appointment if you are coming right after work. I came on a Friday after work around 6:30 pm and had to wait around 40 minutes since I didn't have an appointment. I think that's completely fair since they are a popular salon! They set me up in a pedicure seat that also has a mechanized back massage which is awesome! Linh did a great job cleaning up my feet and massaging my legs. She's also a great conversationalist so it made the nail treatment even more fun! Lina then did my shellac manicure and as always her nail art skills were on point! The salon always has relaxing music playing and doesn't have that strong chemical smell that some nail salons have. It's definitely a fancier place than your average nail salon but the prices are fair (I paid $72 for a spa pedicure and a shellac manicure with nail art on two nails including tip). They spent all of 15 min after having me dip in lukewarm water for 15 min. Most of the dead skin was still there and the feet were super dry by the time I got back home. I love the deluxe pedicures here, but the shellac manicures are a hit or miss. Most of the time, it's a miss. I don't know if it's the quality of the polish or the work, but most of the time, the polish starts lifting about a week in and that's just not acceptable. The deluxe pedicures are wonderful, but I don't get shellac, only regular polish. I love the soak, massage, hot stone, wax, everything. It's soooo relaxing. I feel that you can get a better shellac manicure just about anywhere, but the deluxe pedicure is one of a kind. I'm still trying to find a place that can do both. Ugh. My nail tech was super friendly, asking permission to trim my nails for shaping, if lotion was ok, and made sure I was ok with the extra design fee.
