It's been awhile since I've been able to Iowa and the Ankeny main Street has significantly grown! Stopped into TT for lunch and it didn't disappoint! Great casual spot to grab. Drink or some great bites! Grilled cheese and a side of tomato bisque was just perfect. Great drinks, great service!

French dip

Have always wanted to try this place and on a Saturday night after a Costco run my husband and I decided to stop here. There was a small but steady crowd throughout the night and we had top- notch service from our server- knowledgeable about the menu, attentive in the 'just right way' - carefully observing drinks and not interrupting date night more than necessary. A variety of local And other craft beers were featured although surprisingly not any from Firetrucker next door! The holiday decor was still up but even without it has a warm feel- love the various table sizes and heights and the long bar with a pretty decent offering for cocktails. While there, the bartender was experimenting with drinks and having fun. After recommendations I ordered the French dip which was phenomenal! Homemade bread, warm, generous meat and peppers and grilled onions, flavorful dip . I will say if I ordered again I would ask to have the sauce left off as I am not a fan of horseradish sauce. Still, it was tasty! Side salad as option was super fresh with mixed greens and the house creamy Italian was bursting with herby flavor. my husband had the tenderloin and while delicious- it was 'bougie' and not the traditional Midwest. It was generous and interesting as a dinner option. Would certainly return as the patio is inviting (just not in January)!'

Just A Burger - supposedly medium well.

Cool vibe, but mixed experience overall. Drinks came out in about 10 minutes, which was fine, but the food took 30 minutes, and the execution left a lot to be desired. The burger was undercooked, and the tenderloin had an interesting nutmeg flavor. The portion size was crazy big, but it came with a disappointingly tiny bun. On the bright side, the cauliflower wings were absolutely awesome--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Loved the live music drifting in from next door, and the happy hour deal (25% off apps and drinks before 6 PM) was a nice bonus. Would I come back? Maybe, but only for the cauliflower wings and the vibe.

Chicken bacon ranch flatbread (after I ate most of it)

I was excited to try this place out because I love the location near Main Street and on the High Trestle Trail. We waited a short bit to have a table outside on a beautiful evening and eventually got our drinks started. We got the crab Rangoon dip for our app and it was very tasty, took about 30 mins. For my meal I got the chicken bacon ranch flatbread which took a little over an hour to get. The pizza was good and I liked the ranch. The patio area was spacious, had good music, shuffleboard tables, and places to hang your bike. Overall, great vibe and food, but service was slow and several times people at our table had empty drinks.

Gotta have a beverage. Tellurium is always a solid option.

These Brussels have been sent to earth from heaving. Folks I cannot stress this enough if you come here and do not get the Brussels you are missing out.

Trailside Burger & tasty fries!

Nice place by the bike trail. Good service & good food. Hubby had a beer & liked it. We shared a trail side burger & fries & I got a side salad. Nice salad with good variety of greens. Friend liked her chicken bacon ranch & her hubby enjoyed his all American burger. Place is clean & bar-ish. Neighbor had a steak with carrots on top & it looked delicious!! He gobbled it redownload.

4.0* (out of 5) Food: 4* Atmosphere: 5* Value: 3* Service: 4* 01/22/2023 We stopped here for lunch while in the area as we had stopped before but hadn't eaten - just had taps. An initial disappointment was learning that they no longer were a part of the Pub Pass in 2023 (as they were in 2022), so we wouldn't be able to enjoy a complimentary tap. Even without the Pub Pass, we ordered a Bloody Mary (see picture) and Tip the Cow w/ Vanilla (see picture) as a starter...and enjoyed both of them a lot. For our meals, my wife ordered the Steak Sandwich (see picture) and I ordered the Cubano (see picture). My wife enjoyed the cheesy Steak Sandwich and having just returned from Tampa and some great Cuban sandwiches, this one here in Ankeny held its own - quite authentic with the pork, mustard and great bread. Maybe the best part though was the french fries - I really liked the thick, crunchy coating and they were fried to perfection (see picture). While I found it to be a bit on the pricey side with $16 sandwiches, the food taste and quality were good and worthy of a recommendation. Sadly, the band ended up…read moresequestered in a closet-sized space on the main level since the wind made the rooftop off-limits. Bummer! The Service: We were eventually seated at a booth (the one with no working TVs), and while we were quickly greeted by Jennifer--who was our waitress for the night--we ended up waiting most of the evening for her to come back. We did get waters and drinks while waiting for our friends to arrive. Once they showed up, it took a little while to get the rest of our order in, but it all worked out in the end. They were very busy that night--between the Indiana Fever game, graduations, and a band crowd. Jennifer was hustling, along with her husband and one other waitress, trying to cover the whole place. So, while I can't (and won't) complain about the effort, they clearly needed more help to reach that 5-star level. Same goes for the bar--it was overwhelmed and absolutely needed more than one bartender to handle that crowd. Just a note for management: the team was working hard, but they were outnumbered. The Food: The kitchen was on the ball. Our appetizer of Brussels sprouts was delicious--great flavors, perfectly cooked--and they hit the table just moments before our entrees did. I had the jalapeño burger with the ridiculously long name (you'll know it when you see it), and added the $4 onion rings. The burger was fantastic--well made, full of flavor. The onion rings, while not quite worth the $4 upcharge as a side, were the crispiest onion rings I've ever had. Really good. Kim's wrap, on the other hand, was underwhelming--$14 for a tortilla shell mostly filled with lettuce and not much flavor. Our friends seemed happy with their meals and later ordered a bread pudding to share. We all had a sample, and while it was decent, it was definitely missing a sauce or something to make it pop. The Value: Our bill--1 appetizer, 2 meals, and 4 drinks--came to over $100 plus tip. (Now that I'm writing this, I kind of wish I'd looked at the receipt more closely.) Still, that seems to be the going rate for this kind of night out in the greater Des Moines area these days. Pro Tip: Try coming during happy hour to stretch your dollars a bit further.

We tried both the signature fries and the double batter fries. The double batter fries were my favorite, but both options are good. Service was good, but sometimes a little slow. We sat at the bar and they only had one bartender on a Friday night. It didn't bother us much since we were just hanging out watching football, but could be bothersome if you are in a in a rush. Good place to watch sports and have a burger and some beer.

Taco Tuesday is ok, not good. Service sub par at best,…read more STOP assuming everyone that walks in the door is a lifer and knows that just because the locals know it's Taco Tuesday that it means no point in the menu, except it doesn't. I had no idea if there was meat choices (there isn't) or toppings or sides (there are sides like fries) I'm glad I asked for the menu, as I almost thought about the nachos. Which I would have not known about if I hadn't seen a menu. We did not appreciate the rudeness when she asked if we were ready to order and I replied how would we know we haven't seen a menu. Just for her to roll her eyes and come back and toss them on the table. That attitude made me not want to spend my money there and my tip absolutely reflected her poor behavior. She could have earned 20 from me alone out of our group, instead of what was left over from the change. I work in the service industry and I appreciate both good food and service and it also would have been nice if our checks were correct but I have learned to pick and chose my battles but that also helped contribute to her not super tip. To the taco loved the shell it's like fry bread and one taco is the entire basket you have been warned. Sadly it wasn't really warm my fries were not even close to warm and definitely floppy. Really the stinker of the show was the server, so don't expect much.

Where to begin, I'll just do a list: 1) I had the double…read moreBall Breakfast burger and it was incredible. Juicy, cooked perfect, sauce was awesome and came out super quick. Almost every Bar-food type place I go to leaves me disappointed when I get burgers and this place was really good and reasonably priced. Wife got the steak melt and absolutely loved it as well. Both came out fast and fresh. Fries were very good as well. 2) Service was great, it almost looked understaffed because of how few people were running around but it definitely did not feel that way at all. Our server seemed to read our minds coming by exactly when we were ready to order or whatever else. Also friendly and personable without being overbearing at all. 3) Price was good, before tip around $50 for two people. 2 entrees, beer and soda, and a piece of cheesecake to top it off. I would usually almost think thats a little pricey for american food, but this was so delicious it was worth every penny. Somehow hadn't found this place despite being only 5 min from us but we will absolutely be making this a regular dinner spot when we feel too lazy to cook! Minor complaint, the table behind the "Seat yourself" stand def needs a fix cus that thing was wobbly as heck. Might've been an annoyance if I hadn't been so busy devouring my food to notice.

Probably won't return.
