Its brunch time here at 30hop, the menu selections all look delicious. I sadly didn't try any this time only because I was craving a burger and Brussel sprouts. Oh and my favorite soup in the area the tomatoes basil bisque. So I ordered the 30hop burger I did take off the lettuce only because of the recent situation. I did end up taking off the tomato as well it didn't hence the burger and made it taste off. Ate them on the side with the ranch. My only thing I wish they would improve on is to thicken up their ranch its so thin it drips off quickly and is all over the place. Allison K did an amazing job with answering my questions and the next time I come back in the Turkey Panini will be my next choice with the soup dipper option. My friend and I came here on a Saturday night, and although it was quite busy, we were seated right away. The service was excellent--our waiter was kind, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of. I ordered the yakisoba bowl without any meat add-ins, and I'm so glad I did. It was easily the best yakisoba I've ever had. The sauce leans more sweet than salty, which made it really unique and flavorful. I absolutely loved it. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area. I definitely think it would be a great spot to watch any sporting event. 30hop - Our 3rd 5 STAR visit at this location! The Ambiance: Well of course we had to come back. Sadly we missed the happy hour the ended at 6, but that didn't stop us or any of the other people that were waiting for a table. We were a party of 5, and were seated within 5 minutes. If you haven't been here it is quite the place, with big opulent spaces, high ceilings, modern decor and tones of windows. The popular seating is on the outdoor patio that backs up to the main stage in the district at prairie trail. The vibe and atmosphere of this place is just awesome. Great job! We sat at a huge booth that might seat 8 or even 9 in a pinch. My only real complaint of the night was that we were seated at a really freshly wiped down table that was literally sopping wet. We used our napkins to dry it up. Oh well, moving on! The Service: Our waiter Aiden was on the ball and provided us with some great suggestions and services. He was very personable, attentive and did a great job! Drinks: We ordered some beverages and water too. A couple of Blueberry Fig Mules (#8.99), A classic mule, and a 30 hop Old Fashioned ($10.99). The Food: The menu is has a lot of selection but not over the top. They have a wide selection of fantastic dishes. We ordered some Bang Bang Brussels ($13.99) to share, not only they amazing, they were a large enough portion for 5 of us. The dishes ordered were the 30hop Caesar Salad $10.99, The Baja Fish Tacos ($16.99) , The Korean Steak Sandwich with Wok Veggies ($18.99) and The Crispy Shrimp Bowl ($19.99). Everything was delivered fresh and looked pretty delicious. My Opinions: I personally had the Korean Steak Sandwich and to be honest for the price it was maybe worth about half the price. There was nothing remarkable about it, and I do not recommend it. So far it has been the only thing on the menu that I have had that left me wishing I had ordered something else. Visited 30hop for the first time and was pretty impressed with it. The venue is definitely larger than I expected. And TVs are massive, so it's a great spot for watching sport events. Busy, noisy and chaotic. Had a staff member walk by fast and hit the back of my chair and didn't say a word. The service was less than expected for as many people as they have. Took quite awhile to get a server to the table and by then I was debating drinks, instead of making suggestions she started to say she would come back? I stopped her from leaving, picked my drink and ordered my food so I didn't have to wait longer. My food came out several minutes before my drink, no water was offered before hand or at all! Presentation was nice, salmon was overcooked, slightly dry and the majority of the $22 dish was rice with sauté vegetables. The vegetables were not listed in the menu, adding in carrots, zucchini, broccoli and overcooked onions.. be cautious if you have allergies! The margarita was okay, not worth the $10, filled to the top with ice. Salt foam just made it sour and it was hard to taste much blueberry. Definitely disappointed with the lack of service, time of delivery and cost compared to amount of food you get. The .99 cent surcharge for using a card is ridiculous for an establishment with that much customer base. read more

Ahhhhh what I would give to have this meal again or even have this restaurant closer to home. I LOVED the menu at 30 Hop. There is easily something for everyone, from burgers, salads, and tacos, to poke bowls! They have great cocktails, craft beer, and even wine. Their happy hour is stellar and they even do brunch. Now, normally when a restaurant tries to be everything to everyone I get suspicious and think that quality is lacking, but I was so impressed with this food. The vibe of the restaurant was also top-notch. Awesome decor, plenty of TVs, space for groups, and plenty of great staff to answer all of your questions - and give you samples of their extensive beer options. Although we don't have one of these in Sioux City, yet, at least they are spread across the Midwest for you to find one and enjoy! They have locations in Omaha, Ankeny, Coralville, Cedar Rapids, and even Lee Summit, Missouri. Stayed overnight in Ankeny for ISU commencement. Found this restaurant online and family agreed to try it. We were impressed by the architecture of the building inside and outside! We were immediately impressed with the menu. Maybe the best tomato basil soup I've ever tasted, daughters agreed. Pulled pork tacos were delicious and fresh. The double smash burger and sweet potato fries were delicious! Cannot say enough positive comments about our experience and the menu choices and the five menu selections we made. Maddy was a great server; her entire team was good at checking in for refills, ensuring expectations, etc. The very berry salad was excellent. Perfect flavor throughout--just the right amount of dressing, balsamic glaze, and core ingredients. The candied pecans added the right amount of texture balance with the strawberries, cheese, and vegetables. I didn't love the fish taco. We've never been to this location before, so going on a Tuesday night was a good choice because it wasn't too busy. But still busy enough to where we were seated in the bar area at the high tops. It's a sports bar/brewery and as a whiskey drinker, a great selection at very affordable prices. I got to try the Elmer T Lee for only $15. On to the food, my husband loves bacon jam so although the Korean ribeye sandwich or the Philly cheesesteak sandwich sounded delicious, he went with The "I'm all about that jam burger." It came with fries which were crispy and seasoned, and even the bun had a crisp to it. He liked it. I went with a Berry salad that had goat cheese, nuts, and a vinaigrette, and I added grilled chicken. I went with the small and trust me that was still a plenty good size with a full-size chicken breast. Our server was great even when it started to get busy. I enjoyed my first visit to 30hop in Ankeny's District. It offers American lunch/dinner food in a cozy setting, as well as opportunities for sports watching and spending time with friends in comfy booths. They have two other Iowa locations (Coralville and Cedar Rapids). I browsed their menu and found they have Mon-Wed $5.99 specials that will pull me back in, plus giant-screen TVs that will make this a good spot to watch some games. Happy Hour is Fri-Sun from 3-6 PM and includes 30% off apps and drinks. I also like their hours of operation, as being open from 11-930 most days provides many options and a later closing time. I enjoyed my Classic burger, cooked exactly as requested, and the fries were yummy. I had been wanting to try food here since they opened. An early Friday dinner worked out for a girlfriend and myself. Warmly greeted when I arrived. The automosphere was a restaurant mix sports bar. Was immediately seated and helped. My friend arrived shortly after. I couldn't decide on a drink, and the waitress was kind enough to bring me a few samples till I find the right drink. I had seen a couple of other reviews about service, but our waitress was attentive and busy with the tables around us. We wanted to sample the appetizers, and I think our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. I ordered the Bang Bang Brussels. My mouth is watering thinking about them again. I also tried the breaded cauliflower. This was in lue of Buffalo wings. I recommend these both. The helpings were way bigger than I thought and we couldn't finish them. My friend got the truffle fries, and those too were on point. Since I didn't write the review right away, I can tell you these are all good the next day. Just warm them up in an airfryer, and you're set. Over all the experience was good. Price was reasonable but overall okay. I want to bring my husband back for a full meal. I enjoyed a nice Lunch here at 30Hop last week on my way back to Ames. My first choice was Firetrucker plus a Jimmy Johns sandwich, but this and other brew pubs don't do Lunch time hours mid-week. So thanks to Yelp and Maps, I found my way to 30Hop in the middle of a fake Downtown Ankeny Development. Parking was easy, seating was comfortable, service was friendly and prompt, and my half Turkey Panini sandwich with fries was tasty and just the right amount of food. In hindsight, I could have chosen healthier, but that correction is for another day. And yes, they had a very good beer selection that honors this restaurant's name. My choice was a Cousin Eddie Brown Ale. I like IPAs, and as I'm tired of them right now, I appreciated the variety that 30Hop offered. Atmosphere and service is great, but if you're coming hungry plan to have another meal elsewhere. Used to have a great BBQ Mac and Cheese bowl, but they took it off them menu for a while, and when it was brought back they left out some of the spice and flavor. Now the portion is appetizer size. The chicken sandwich my wife got was pretty small as well. Leaving now to get something else to eat! My wife wants me to add that the sandwich was very good. I think I read a review with the exact same experience. My family came to try it for the first time - there was no wait & we were immediately sat. We ordered a few drinks & the espresso martini was interesting - not a usual martini, was more of an iced latte. The frozen drink was also okay, wasn't super impressed. As for the food, incredible, we got the cauliflower wings - delicious with the Buffalo sauce, I could eat my body weight in them. We ordered the mushroom & Swiss sandwich. 100% misunderstood the menu, thinking it would include protein - it didn't, it was still delicious!! Their fries were incredible. The chipotle chicken tacos pack HEAT. We were sweating, however, honestly delicious as well. My less of a review is solely service. Our server was training, there wasn't that many tables in the place sat. We had to wave another server to get ours to come to our table to place our meals (hate doing this, cringe every time doing that) but, we got our orders placed. The service makes the experience for sure, it was just a let down. Need a little more attention to detail & maybe check ups after the food is delivered - to ensure everything's going ok & we don't need additional items would be appreciated. We stayed in Ankeny this weekend because we couldn't find a room in Ames which was great because we got to try a new restaurant. My daughter had tried 30hop for her birthday and said it was some of the best food ever - so she brought us here. The service was excellent - while we didn't sit outside, they had plenty of outside seating - and overall, the vibe was very chill.
