Ran a napkin across table and I'm still grossed out. Avocado toast flight was cold. Like out of the refrigerator cold. One part had an egg, it was the only thing luke warm. Overall a great breakfast spot. Simple and delicious. The chicken and waffles was yummy as well as the Bloody Mary flight. Watch out though, that jalapeño Bloody Mary is def spicy. I had fantastic time. Our waitress was attentive and the vibe was lively. We were seated by the bar, so bicyclists were in and out grabbing a bite to eat or something to drink. Not sure if it's an Iowa thing but if you plan on getting dinner plan on being at the restaurant for 2 plus hours. With that being said, if you don't mind your food room temp then I'd give this place a shot. The waitress wasn't the issue it was definitely the lack of waiters, she was very nice but even she claimed that she could only do so much to work all these tables. The food on the other hand...probably could've been pretty good if I was drunk enough but unfortunately I wasn't and the food was good enough to be served at a public golf course. But let's call it what it is, it's a bar on a lake in Iowa. If you plan to have dinner here, drink just enough to make up the stairs from the docks and you'll think it's great! read more

**Vegan review** I really appreciate the vegan menu items. I tried the vegan steak and eggs. It was ok but kinda dry. I feel like it needed a sauce or v gravy. I also feel it wasn't worth $20. I finally decided on breakfast tacos with green salsa. Delicious, filled with eggs & bacon, cheese & onions. Friend's eggs Benedict--1/2 order--was tasty. Another's scrambled eggs & toast was spot on. Another had the breakfast rarebit & had to take 1/2 home. They were pretty busy and the patio filled up quickly. I had a party planned directly with the owner and went over every detail in advance. Two days before the event, he suddenly tried to add a $3,000 charge--after explicitly telling me there would be no rental fee since the party was outside of their business hours. I explained from the beginning that I planned to pay for the food and have guests purchase their own drinks at the bar. We had 30 people confirmed, and when he quoted the price for "appetizers," it came out to an outrageous $100 per person. He refused to work with me on the cost, then turned around and accused me of saying more people were coming--even though he was the one who asked for the headcount today. There was zero effort on his part to problem-solve or be reasonable. Instead, he told me he was "fine" with me finding a new venue--two days before my mom's surprise 70th birthday party. Completely unprofessional, stressful, and disappointing. I would not recommend planning an event here. read more

The burnt ends were a bit dry and the dish was sweeter than expected. Overall, I enjoyed it but would probably not order it again. In most other places the half order of biscuits and gravy are enough for the two of us to split, however, here is was a smaller than average serving with a rather flat biscuit. Tried many times to give it another chance because of its location. Never a decent experience. The poached eggs in the eggs Benedict has a 80% chance of being under or over cooked. The full order of biscuits and gravy comes with two mini biscuits for $10. Great gravy but it's a rip off. The pancakes, meat and eggs special is reasonably priced and tastes good. The service here is not good whatsoever. Been a server for years and I cannot believe the quality of service here. We have literally seen the servers hanging out chatting while our food is getting cold waiting for them to run it over. The servers are inattentive, and take so long that an hour long meal becomes 2 hours in a restaurant that is not busy at the time.
