However if you come in at like noon on the weekends the crowd does slow down a lot so you can get seated pretty quickly! I got their breakfast tacos and they were pretty good! The loaded hash browns were a let down as they were a bit mushy and would have been better with a little crisp to them. The Gouda cheese sauce tasted more like Worcestershire than Gouda. My Americana had that oily glisten to it which we all know tastes bitter so no more of that. The vegi melt felt like it was missing something, it was pretty bland and even added hot sauce. I have had this place a couple of times and keep going back for the Fiesta Hash. I love how they have vegan options and are able to customize a few nonvegan dishes. Have not tried their coffee but I think there are mixed reviews on it. The first time we went there, our waiter told us they could not substitute the chorizo on the Totchos for bacon, but for a takeout order they said they could, so mixed responses for some food alterations. Stopped in this morning for breakfast after an appointment. Place wasn't too busy and we were seared right away. Definitely some new things on the menu to try. The decor is hip and lively, so it's always a fun place to be. i got the omelette. Sounded delicious, but something was off. Maybe the spinach or mushrooms, I'm not sure. For the price, I definitely won't try that again. However, hubs got the go-to amazing Cajun shrimp and grits. The flavor is out of this world. This time I wish the grits were cooked definitely longer, but the flavor and the shrimp combo had me overlook that part. We will be back. So many options to choose. It's hard to decide. Our server was very slow coming around and didn't ever come back for refills or to take orders unless we flagged her down. My wife is pregnant so she got the virgin mimosa flight which she didn't enjoy. Thought they would be more juices and less fizzy flavored water. I had the biscuits and gravy and I would totally recommend them. They went above and beyond and made my daughter a chocolate chip pancake she wanted even though it wasn't on the menu. My waffle was dense instead of fluffy and the eggs were under cooked from how I ordered. The bacon was ok, but not great. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, and it was fine, but again his biscuit was very dense and the gravy had an ok flavor but nothing special. went on a wednesday lunch with my parents, it wasn't overly busy so we got right in. my mom had a heck of a bloody mary. my mom can't handle any spice, pepper is a spice. so she asked for tomato juice instead of the bloody mary mix. the gal had them made new shrimp for her drink since they're spicy. I ordered the country hash. it was good. i could have done without the sausage links. I wish the jalapenos had been sautéed or been pickled, but still very good. my parents split the never Benny better. my mom said the hollandaise sauce had pepper in it so she couldn't eat any of her Benedict. i tasted it and found it to be pretty bland myself. she did enjoy the hashbrowns. S got a cinnamon roll. the table over looked like they had massive piles of pancakes. holy cow lots of pancakes, i almost regretted my decision. service ws great. I was impressed that the server took time to think about the spicy shrimp, she had no way of knowing that sauce was too spicy, i would have told my mom it was fine for her to eat, i know her pallet. I'd probably go 3.5 but I'll round up because service was pretty good. I came here twice over our weekend stay in Des Moines bc A. They're really limited in brunch spots here... and B. There were enough interesting things on the menu to give a try. The first day, I got the standard bfast sub blueberry cream pancakes. The eggs and ham were solid, pretty standard. The pancakes really fell short for me... the menu said they were cinnamon swirl pancakes, but there was no cinnamon to be found. The base pancake really just lacked good flavor... I found them to be very bland. So I wouldn't get pancakes here again. My sister had the buffalo cauliflower omelette and enjoyed it but the mimosa flight was very juice heavy and I don't think they use real juice as they were all very sugary. Despite the pitfalls, we came back for a second time to try some different things on the menu. We were seated very quickly with no wait on a Sunday morning around nine. I started with the breakfast corndogs, which I thought were pretty tasty. I then got the standard breakfast with hash browns and added a jalapeño cheddar biscuit on the side.
