We were here for my nieces graduation party and had rented out the back space... How fitting "business in the front and party in the back!" I would 100% recommend this spot for rentals! They cater the food, and it was delicious! We had fresh fruit, pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and cheese... all delicious and had everyone going back for seconds. They had two different waiters coming back to take drink orders for adults, and one of them was always in there taking out trash, picking stuff up, refilling the food stations.. super attentive and very kind. Their beer selection is great, food was great, I'll definitely be going back next time I'm back in town.

Time to check out the new location of Mullets. We have been chomping at the bit to get up here and check out this new location. We headed up on a early Friday evening with a table top of 5. It was a beautiful day. Street parking is available. We parked down the street a little and walked in. I had read the menu online before hand and knew exactly what I wanted. We were seated immediately and there was no waiting. We did not opt to sit on the rooftop this time, but plans to do it on the next visit. The servers and everyone was in a good mood. Lots of TVs on and music playing. The waitress was fairly new. She kept apologizing for not knowing some things, but it didn't bother us in the least. Everyone is new at some point so we didn't care and were happy for her to check on things for us. It came my turn to order and I wanted the Burnt Ends Benedict. I had not seen it on the all day breakfast menu, so I asked. After checking the waitress gave me the bad news that the All day breakfast items. I did my pretend pout and ordered my back up option. I ordered the Avacado and Egg Burger. Beef patty grilled and topped with avocado, egg over easy and American cheese. I got the house fries with it. Hubby (birthday guy) ordered the Wild West Burger. He said he wasnt impressed and wouldn't recommend it. Not worth the cost that it was. Everyone was enjoying their meals when realized we goofed and forgot to order the sweet potato tots. We laughed and said that would be the second reason to make our way back cause we knew how good they were. I also sneakily asked the waitress if they do anything for birthdays celebrations. She smiled and returned with fresh mini doughnuts. They were tossed in cinnamon and sugar and served with our sweet bourbon sauce and chocolate sauce. They were shared around the table and we expressed how the same sauce is served with the tots and how good it is. Overall the experience was good. I need to get back there so I can have Burnt Ends Benedict. Shout out to our waitress again. She handled us well and was very attentive. Some other reviews sound like there are some revolving staff, however our food was hot, and came out decent time and we were all pleased. I am hoping to add a star on the next visit.

Fun and diverse breakfast menu with some amazing items. Definitely recommend the Burnt Ends Benedict and the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. Service was superb and it's a fun environment. Definitely add this to your Des Moines area breakfast haunts.

Very nice when we went, the waitress was also very nice. Very clean place. Comfortable seating and atmosphere. Did get charged twice for soda even though we got one water and one soda. The breakfast burrito is to die for.

Food was pretty good, roof top ambience was best for view. Character count on yelp is annoying.

Taco Tuesday is ok, not good. Service sub par at best,…read more STOP assuming everyone that walks in the door is a lifer and knows that just because the locals know it's Taco Tuesday that it means no point in the menu, except it doesn't. I had no idea if there was meat choices (there isn't) or toppings or sides (there are sides like fries) I'm glad I asked for the menu, as I almost thought about the nachos. Which I would have not known about if I hadn't seen a menu. We did not appreciate the rudeness when she asked if we were ready to order and I replied how would we know we haven't seen a menu. Just for her to roll her eyes and come back and toss them on the table. That attitude made me not want to spend my money there and my tip absolutely reflected her poor behavior. She could have earned 20 from me alone out of our group, instead of what was left over from the change. I work in the service industry and I appreciate both good food and service and it also would have been nice if our checks were correct but I have learned to pick and chose my battles but that also helped contribute to her not super tip. To the taco loved the shell it's like fry bread and one taco is the entire basket you have been warned. Sadly it wasn't really warm my fries were not even close to warm and definitely floppy. Really the stinker of the show was the server, so don't expect much.

Visited and really enjoyed the food. Service was good. A definite classic establishment.read more

There was a small but steady crowd throughout the night and we had top- notch service from our server- knowledgeable about the menu, attentive in the 'just right way' - carefully observing drinks and not interrupting date night more than necessary. A variety of local And other craft beers were featured although surprisingly not any from Firetrucker next door! The holiday decor was still up but even without it has a warm feel- love the various table sizes and heights and the long bar with a pretty decent offering for cocktails. While there, the bartender was experimenting with drinks and having fun. After recommendations I ordered the French dip which was phenomenal! Homemade bread, warm, generous meat and peppers and grilled onions, flavorful dip . I will say if I ordered again I would ask to have the sauce left off as I am not a fan of horseradish sauce. Still, it was tasty! Side salad as option was super fresh with mixed greens and the house creamy Italian was bursting with herby flavor. my husband had the tenderloin and while delicious- it was 'bougie' and not the traditional Midwest. It was generous and interesting as a dinner option. Would certainly return as the patio is inviting (just not in January)!'

The food menu has sandwiches, Flatbreads, salads, appetizers, and entrees. I had trouble pinning down a selection, as a lot of things looked good. All food and drink is VERY reasonably priced. I got a Philly Cheesesteak and my wife got the Buffalo Burger. Both were fabulous! Fresh tasting, nicely cooked, and flavorful. The Sweet Potato fries were piping hot and delicious, and the shoestring fries were hot, fresh, and wonderful as well. There are about a dozen bar seats, outdoor patio tables, indoor booths and tables. There are 6 TVs that have a variety of shows on as well. Being a Navy veteran the branding caught my attention when I heard about Anchors Away when it first opened back in April. We were greeted right away when we walked in and told to take a seat anywhere. We had a party of four. Two of our party had been here before and could probably be considered regulars. Not much has changed as far as the physical layout from when it was Wheelhouse. I think a wall or two had been painted, new exterior signage, and some nautical decor items have been added. Same L shaped bar and bar stools. Low top tables and chairs and a couple booths are available for indoor seating. Lot of TVs if you want to sit back and catch a game. There is a nice little patio along the East side of the building and they have a large adjacent parking lot. Caitlyn (might be misspelled) was our server. She came over and introduced herself right away. Took our drink orders and presented us with our menus. Standard table service. Now the menu... That has completely changed! A large selection of appetizers (including fried chicken gizzards), burger and sandwich baskets, and other entrees including pasta, steak, pork chops, salmon, and shrimp. They also offer salads, flatbreads, chili and other soups, and a kids menu. Everything was reasonably priced. We ordered the following: 1x First catch fried shrimp with a side salad with ranch 1x Maritime mushroom and Swiss burger and a side salad with blue cheese 1x 1st mates choice flatbread. Added onions and peppers. 1x An order of tater tots 1x tall white Russian 1x tall cranberry and vodka on the rocks 4x Green tea shots 2x fountain drinks (Pepsi products) The drinks were all good. The food I had was on point too. I normally lean to a medium burger..., but I understand there are health code limitations and most of the time a burger out is served done. I really enjoyed my salad alongside the burger! Their side salads are definitely elevated over what you get at other places with an order. I'd probably explore some of the other different menu items next time... I wish I'd grabbed a a piece of the flatbread... Lol It looked really good! I heard really good things about their wings, the breaded tenderloin, and Philly too. Caitlyn did an amazing job! A couple of the other staff members came over to check on us during our meal, introduced themselve, and visited for a bit. Everyone was very friendly and personable! Overall... An enjoyable first vist to Anchors Away! I'd definitely return for the drinks and the service alone! https://anchorsenterprise3.com/
