After seeing some fellow yelpers recommend this place we took our pub passes and made the easy trip to old downtown Grimes. This place is right on the corner, well maintained and has good signage. It lacks on curb appeal, but we came for the food, drinks and atmosphere. Upon entering we were greeted by big crowds and a very busy place. We lucked out and were able to sit right down (at the bar of course). The place is dated, and slightly divey but it has a lot of seating and the staff all seemed to be busy making it happen! There is a lot of table seating both high top and standard table and chairs. In addition to about 20 seats at the bar. Plenty of televisions with all types of content playing. Although it was busy we soon had 2 bartenders offering us drinks and menus. Shortly after we were drinking our beers and ordered some hamburgers. Kim opted for the regular hamburger with cheese and a side of fries. I ordered the jalapeño blue cheese burger. It was loaded with plenty of blue cheese crumbles and the jalapeños were a nice touch. I will say they were both solid choices. They make it clear that the $12-15 sandwiches do not come with sides unless you order the baskets. So sides are all in addition to the prices on the burgers. So it makes it a bit more expensive and for me $20 for a burger and fries is on the high side for anywhere in or around the metro. The service was good and as the crowd began to die down we ordered a second round. Though I feel the prices for stand alone sandwiches are high, at least the ones we had and the ones we saw delivered to other tables were pretty generous in size and the ingredients seemed fresh. All in all a pretty decent experience. If you are looking for a well made sandwich, in Grimes this seems like a good place to find it. read more

I had the coldest blue moon beer I've ever had! The bar was doing music bingo on a Sunday so the atmosphere was fun and friendly. I also ordered a Tenderloin that was delicious! The bartender was super chill and friendly too she was very efficient. I Highly recommend! read more

I couldn't pass up the $2 beer special and today we went with the Breakfast Burger (see picture), Tater Tots (see picture) and Frisco Burger (see picture). Have been to this place several times and have never had a bad experience. We have been for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and have never been disappointed. I especially love the fried jalapeños and wings. The service is always great and everyone walks around with a smile. Megan and Cindy are amazing and the best severs/bartenders I have ever had. I would come back just to see them. I love coming here. There is always something on the TVs to watch or great live music to listen to. read more

My wife, daughter, and I came here for a Pubpass- the first thing I noticed is the location is in the old uptown part of grimes in an old building that smelled delicious from a block away. We were able to seat ourselves on a Friday night around 6:30 so that's always good. We were greeted by our friendly waitress for drinks. For beers, they had a handful on tap and a descent selection in cans and bottles. I noticed for the special, it was French dip with a side of $10 and I've been craving one for awhile so that's what I got with a side of tots. The tots were good and crunchy like I like them. The French dip was also very good- no gristle and the au jus didn't even spill to make my bottom bun soggy! My wife ordered the cowboy burger . The cowboy burger was nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly with cheese, onion rings, jalapeños and a delicious slightly spicy sauce. My daughter ordered the basic cheeseburger (sorry no pics) and it looked really good. Honestly i might order that next time. The burgers are 1/4lb so they are big enough to split if you're not that hungry. There isn't really any healthy options which is why I didn't give it a full 5 otherwise I probably would have. Also I think they might be slightly understaffed because service slowed down when they got busier. Nothing too crazy though. We went to this bar and grill as a halfway point for our family. It wasn't good at all. There were 7 people in our party. The waitress brought our drinks 1 at a time and mixed drinks them up which should have been a clue. Our drink order consisted of a tea, coke, and 5 waters, 3 with lemon and two without. Our food was delivered to one person at a time. Our orders were: plain chicken quesadilla, chicken philly with red pepper, bacon cheeseburger, Rueben, chicken fried steak, chicken sandwich with fries, boneless wings and fries. The Rueben's bread was burnt with cold sauerkraut, bacon cheeseburger was rock hard, the chicken fried steak looked like a pork tenderloin with a dollop of white gravy with two slices of bread slapped together with butter, the fries were barely warm and soggy, and the boneless wings turned out to be popcorn chicken. The only ones that were decent was the quesadilla and Philly. All in all it was a terrible experience with everyone leaving feeling like it was a huge waste of time and money. read more

Great food and service. The menu is mostly burgers and sandwiches with weeknight specials. The sandwiches do not come with french fries but is ala carte. My son said the shrimp was really good. I got the philly and it was also delicious. The fries are thin and very crispy. Stopped for a quick lunch with my wife and this place did not disappoint! Burgers are huge and amazing! I ordered the frisco burger and it was absolutely delish! My wife had the hot blue burger, just the right amount of heat balanced perfectly with the flavor of the blue cheese. We ordered a side of rings and pickle chips as well, some of the best I've had! The portions are large, so come with an appetite! This will be a regular lunch spot for sure! read more
