First timer here. My initial overall thought is it's Expensive- especially for being bar food. Ankeny is not Miami, I paid $32 for tacos & 1 alcoholic beverage. Strawberry margarita mule at $9 was overly sweet & needed more ginger beer, overall not balanced well. I ordered the chipotle chicken tacos, 3 tacos. The menu says oversized however, I'd argue it's the size of a street taco. The side served with it is chips & salsa. I did appreciate that the salsa was flavorful, thick & not watery, and had a hint of smoked or chipotle flavor. The chicken in the tacos is meant to be served warm & was served luke warm at best. The slaw had no flavor. The one saving grace for the $16 street tacos was the cilantro-lime crema. The only other pro here is that they have 30 beers on tap. I will most likely not return to this establishment but I can say I tried it. read more

The food is consistently good from location to location and this 30 Hop nails it. It was a short line to get in and we were helped right away. There is great energy and lots going on to look at. Overall, we love 30 Hop and highly recommend. read more

We've been twice so far and are happy to have another dinner and brunch spot where you could also catch a game! It's a little on the pricey side for what you get, and both times we wished our server stopped by more often. We would have had another drink both times but it felt like they disappeared and then came back ready to check us out. Still, we'll be back! All of our food and the drinks have been tasty. read more

Went for lunch with a group of fun ladies. $11 you pick 2 lunch special. It was awesome! Shrimp tacos, sandwiches, and amazing salads. Best value for the money I have had in awhile. The server was attentive and the atmosphere was great! Can't wait to try the patio. read more

Was in town & stayed across the street and ate there twice. Food was above average -lunch had the corn chowder & salad. Both were tasteful. Dinner at the Poke Bowl. It was very good too. Very casual and was able to pop in no wait etc. I would return when back in town. read more

We only had drinks but we were impressed with the service as well as the drink menu. Whether you want beer, cocktails, wine, or something nonalcoholic, you should be able to find something you like at 30hop. The environment is modern, clean, and lively. read more

Excited to try the new 30Hop in Ankeny with some friends Sat night. Busy night but got sat right away. Our table facing the reception desk. Notice they have a 35ish guy mgr and LITERALLY 5 girls about 16-18 to escort people to their table. We wait for our waitress for 13 minutes before she shows. Meanwhile the mgr is giggling with his harem oblivious the fact his wait staff is working at 50%. Poor waitress was trying to handle an entire section by herself. So she made it to our table about every 20-25 minutes. Beer selection paltry, food OK at best. Thinking of going to 30Hop? Take 30 more seconds and reconsider. read more

We walked in on a Friday evening and were immediately seated. Our drink orders were taken and our server was knowledgeable on the drinks. Ordered a couple appetizers that came out quick and hot. The Brussels were tasty, and also the chorizo queso. Would order those again. Our main meal was just ok. Ordered some sausage rotini pasta that was tasty. Saturday lunch with Quick seating. Yelp check in didn't work for 5 and hostess responded times are accurate. Had Salmon Bahn Mi. Salmon was small and dry with cucumber, carrot and pickled mix too/side. Upgraded to Brussel sprouts which were great. Kid meal runner mixed up. Had Mac cheese and chicken strips. Strips were typical frozen variety and Mac cheese was good. Burger was really good. Fries side were really good too. Waitress didn't come back after kid meal problem. Slow to bring requested water and pop refill or remove empty plates. Showed up near the end after a hostess removed some plates. Food flavor varies though is overpriced. Large beer menu but again overpriced so didn't order anything. read more

We had heard good reviews about 30 Hop from people who have been before to the other locations in eastern Iowa. To begin, the food was subpar; however, the waiter couldn't have acted less interested in serving us. He didn't check in after we received our food to see what we needed. Along with this, we paid in cash which was supposed to avoid the convenience fee of a card payment. In doing so, we were still charged the fee. Our waiter did not pay any mind to this. We left a cash tip and When we left a tip on the table, the waiter pushed the money toward us and told us to "keep it" as he walked away annoyed. We were nothing but pleasant throughout our visit. We are very frustrated by our experience, which is sad given that we were excited to try this new local place. read more

Came here with 8 of our friends on a Sunday. Food was okay- a little overpriced in hindsight. Service was awful. Our waiter seemed like he would rather be anywhere else than be serving us. We got bottomless mimosas (which was suggested by him) and there are NO modifications allowed. Glasses were pretty much just juice. Every time we asked for a refill of the BOTTOMLESS mimosas he rolled his eyes like it was annoying him. My friend ordered a Buffalo chicken salad with no blue cheese and ranch instead. Came with a lot of blue cheese. I asked for salsa on the side. Didn't come on the side. I was too afraid to ask him to get it fixed because of his attitude. Even the people running the food and drinks seemed to be miserable. Idk if it's a management issue but we all felt super put out and as if we were inconveniencing everyone. We aren't super needy customers, we all work in the restaurant industry so we know it can be rough especially on Sundays. This was a super disappointing experience. read more

I ordered the Greek bowl and was very underwhelmed. it was supposed to come with quinoa tabouleh and cucumber salad, but instead was served with unseasoned quinoa and no cucumbers. hummus was under seasoned and everything served on top of undressed lettuce. very small portion size for a main dish. I have never written a negative review for a restaurant before but I am beyond disappointed with my experience at 30hop Ankeny this past weekend. We were a large party so we had to wait roughly 90 mins to be seated, and once we were all seemed to be going well. I ordered the chicken wings as an appetizer and then the beast burger for my meal. I finished roughly half of the burger while there and one of my friends commented on that fact that the meat looked really raw. I brushed it off since I didn't taste anything off about it and then finished the burger at home for a midnight snack where I noticed that the meat looked really pink still. For those who are sensitive I recommend you stop reading from here. I woke up around 3 AM to very aggressive vomiting and diarrhea, I say aggressive since it's the worst that I've ever felt from either of those two. These symptoms have been accompanied by full body aches and chills, again to a point that I've never felt like this before. I got no sleep last night and still haven't been able to sleep for more than 30 mins at a time since I keep on having to get up to let nature do it's thing. Upon calling 30hop to inform them of this, the manager on duty, Darren, told me that local health officials say it takes 24 hours for food poisoning to kick in and therefore it couldn't possibly have been from them. A quick google search that brought me to the CDC website says that's not true. For the symptoms that I've been having, the CDC website says it takes 30 minutes to 8 hours after consumption for food poisoning symptoms to occur. While I would like to find sone thing I ate in the past 24 hours to blame it on, I cannot. I didn't have anything at all to eat that day since I knew that we were going out for a big birthday dinner, and prior to going there, I was in school that day and had a rigorous workout. If the symptoms were going to occur before going to 30hop they should have started showing during that workout but they did not. I'm beyond disappointed with my experience at 30hop and urge others to STAY AWAY!! read more

Our party of 5 waited nearly an hour for a table. Granted, it was busy, however, a group who came in after ours was told there table would be ready before ours because they were friends with the hostess. When we caught wind of this, we asked when our table would be ready and the manager spoke to the hostess and told her her friends would have to wait. We ordered our food and my husbands order came out 10 minutes after everyone elses. He ordered jambalaya and it was literally soup. Jambalaya is not soup. I had Yakisoba ($14.50) salmon for an extra $6. 2lbs of noodles and 2oz of salmon. The restaurant boasts a "vibe". The vibe I saw was a woman who was obviously "over served" at the bar and being guided to the bathroom by another patron. Yes we were seated near the bathrooms. Did I mention there were so many little kids there??? I love family restaurants but not so much when drunk patrons are present. The only positive, our waitperson, Gabrielle was amazing. read more
