It's an easy, tasty, fast casual spot in a great location and the food is always unique and tasty. Superb initial visit, and wondered why I had not been here since moving to Ankeny this summer. An outstanding combination of food quality, good overall vibe, solid pricing, great menu, and options. We ate inside the restaurant, which is a fun venue with cool decorations and theme. Loved the booth setting. Sound was fine. They also have a drive-thru option. Stopped here based on the Yelp reviews and we weren't disappointed. It was pretty quiet when we came about 12:30p on a Thursday. We were greeted warmly and any questions we had about the menu were answered. The restaurant is very bright and clean. We ordered the pick 2 menu they have during lunch. I had the Margarita Chicken sandwich and PB&J fries. My husband had the Jerk Chicken Sandwich and Dirty fries. My sandwich was very fresh tasting with a delicious pesto sauce and balsamic reduction sauce. The PB&J fries were like no fries I've ever had and I would highly recommend them. I was excited to try this place after hearing many reviews. We came on a Friday night and it was empty but seemed to have a busy drive thru and lots of carry out orders. I ordered the hot honey chicken Mac and cheese, but received the bang bang chicken. They offered to remake it, but I always feel bad so I ate it. The chicken & Mac was so good, the sauce was not my favorite. My family got the gyros, Thai chicken bowl, and Thai chicken wrap. They agreed it was good. Moved from Beaverdale to Ankeny! Nice newer location! I like that this is even closer than before. Easy parking. Lots of space and they have a drive through! Brightly lit and a bright smile behind the counter as we came in. The staff was very friendly and helpful as we made our decisions. I was excited that the flash Brussels are easily added as a side to sandwiches or wraps. I got the Thai Chicken Crunch Wrap which includes chicken w/fresh slaw, cilantro, cheddar jack cheese, chow mein noodles & hoisin ginger sauce. It was very good. I filled up fast with the brussels sprouts. I really think this place has the best brussels sprouts in town. I cant get enough. I really also like the lemonade. So I really wanted to like this place. The pb&j fries were decent but a little too decadent. The disappointing item was the OG fire mac and cheese. The chicken was very good but the Mac itself was overly watery and I just couldn't get through it. We aren't sure how any other place is going to top this food! We got PB and J Fries and Dirty Fries to start us out. They were both awesome! For meals, we got Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad, classic cheeseburger, the Curbin Bacon Burger, the Nash Sandwich and everyone rated their meals 10s! Very interesting twists on these meals. My wife and I decided to check this place out to see what the hype was about- when we arrived I noticed you order at the counter and the awesome looking menu. My wife ordered the peanut chicken bowl with the pb&j fries- both delicious! And I ordered the cubano with Brussels, also very good! The cubano came in a toasted boogie with Dijon aioli and some sort of really good melted cheese! The Brussels were crunchy and cooked well with aioli and the choice of bacon! The pb&j fries were perfect and crunchy with pb & j drizzled on them (pretty self explanatory but I would recommend) the Thai peanut chicken bowl was also really good- it had chicken, lettuce, crunchy noodles, and a delicious peanut sauce drizzled on it. Our food was brought out to our table in like 5 minutes, the workers were all nice, and the place was clean. I would recommend this place and will be back! Both were pretty flavorful but the highlight (to our surprise) was the PB&J fries: fries with spicy peanut sauce and thin jelly. Actually very good. I think they're trying to do the best they can during the covid-19 to provide good food I've only gotten my food there to go they have some limited dining service but it's like three tables and they did have some areas outside to eat. There just aren't that many places in Des Moines with really good Jerk Chicken. Curbin Cuisine is the exception to that rule. I've been getting this sandwich there for several years. It's less than $10 somehow, even in our current crazy economy. As you can see from the picture, they don't skimp on the meat. It is both bountiful and flavorful. The jerk rub has a nice spice level, but nothing too crazy. You shouldn't need any milk on standby for this guy, but you definitely won't be asking if there's really any jerk seasoning on this chicken. It comes with Cole slaw on it by default, which I leave off. I am just not a fan of cabbage and salad dressing. My favorite dining companion is a big fan of the Crab Cake Po Boy. That delightful sandwich is only available on Thursdays. If you enjoy crab cakes without spending a fortune (as is the entire premise of a Po Boy sandwich, of course), you will definitely enjoy it. The two cakes are generously sized and very tasty. We always get take out, so I always remove the crab cakes from the sandwich and give them a little ride in the toaster oven for extra crispiness, before returning them to their humble abode. Curbin' has great food at very reasonable prices, and it is run by very nice people. If you want a solid Jerk Chicken sandwich, or Crab Cakes on the cheap, look no further. read more

This has been on my list of places to try for a long time. I've heard nothing but great things about it. My husband and I were pleased to learn they were open for dining in so we stopped in for dinner. I got the Volcano Pulled Pork sandwich and my husband got the Jamaican Jerk Chicken sandwich. We both loved our sandwiches but thought they needed a little more spice. My sandwich was supposed to be spicy but I detected no spice or seasoning on the pork at all. It definitely needed some. Both sandwiches came with slaw on them which were very flavorful and a nice accompaniment to the meats. I also got the side of fries with my sandwich. I thought the prices were kind of high for the sandwiches and the fries until I saw how big the portions were. You definitely get your money's worth. The ciabatta buns are a pretty good size and they load them up with meat and slaw. The fries were big enough for two people to share and had the perfect amount of crispiness. They're probably the best fries I've ever had. I'll definitely be getting those again. My only real complaint is that the bottom bun on the sandwiches should have been toasted, too, because the meat and slaw were kind of wet and were soaking through the bun. It was kind of a sopping mess, but it was delicious! The employees were super friendly and gave my husband free refills on his homemade lemonade. They even gave him a refill to go. Now that's service. The place is very cozy and welcoming. I really like neighborhood restaurants like this. There were so many yummy things on their menu that we'll definitely be back to try them. I've been here twice and really like their food. They make these specialty fries and my favorite is the Parmesan Truffles fries. The PB & J fries is definitely an interesting one to try too. My friend got the Philly cheese steak fries and she really enjoyed it. The portion size to me is pretty generous, both times I ate here I was stuffed. I also tried the SPQB and it was delicious! My review is based on ordering via delivery app. We ordered the Cuban Sandwich, dirty fries, "the special " and a brownie. The sandwiches were really good with great flavor and nice sized sandwich. The dirty fries were a little over rated- they seemed to be missing something. Didn't have enough wow factor to make me order them again- the fries themselves were very crispy and delicious however, so maybe we just get them plain next time. The brownie is pretty big. I had this restaurant in my list for a while. I order delivery. My husband gives the Gyro a 8.5 The french Fries were my favorite! they get a 10! So crunchy and have a good taste plus that golden look. Yum. My Quesadilla was good i give it a 8.7. The chicken is shredded and the spinach is good. It was full of flavor so delicious. But if you stop here you must get the fries, either plain or the truffle... they are excellent, crunchy and just delicious. My husband and I are MAD that it took us this long to try this little place out, given that it's only 4 minutes away from us. We were drawn in by the allure of their Thursday special (crab cake po'boy) and my husband was sold when I uttered the words, "PB&J fries" when reading their menu. We called in our order around 2 pm and delayed it for later in the evening. Pick up was super easy, and our food was ready right on time and packaged easily for me to carry out. I ordered two appetizers for my meal, plus a mango strawberry lemonade while my husband got the special with a side of PB&J fries. Special: Crab Cake Po'Boy - My husband had no complaints and seemed to enjoy it a lot. I tried a bite and it seemed good! PB&J Fries - YUM. They were crispy, and smothered in a lovely peanut sauce, with a slightly spicy jelly sauce drizzled over them as well. We both LOVED them. Pretzel Bites - OKAY. THESE WERE PERFECTION. Who could have known that a plate full of small, Parmesan (which I'm usually not a fan of) coated pretzel bites could bring someone so much happiness?! They had the perfect chew, were expertly seasoned, and dunking them in cheese sauce just made the experience that much more fulfilling. You get a LOT of these magical babies, too. I had them for dinner AND for lunch the next day. Spin Art Chicken Quesadilla - Another banger! I loved dunking the quesadilla in the provided salsa (a little spicy) and then some ranch (Yes, I'm super Midwestern). This was the perfect size for me as well, and I ended up with some left over for lunch the next day. Lemonade - I loved how this lemonade was on the tart spectrum of lemonades. They can very easily be overly sweet and come across as more of a child drink. This one tasted like it was designed for a more adult palette and I loved it. "The Restaurant" is in a Great Location in Beaverdale! Easy access and lots of parking plus other retail shops to stop by as well. I am here for the taste of "Goodness", as I've always hit their food truck whenever possible; jerk chicken sliders and seasoned fries, were on my mind. Instead their fabulous chalkboard designed daily special pulled my attentions! Thick cut bacon, brie, and dark berry jam made my day! Fries are as remembered and off the hook with very appropriate perportions! Homemade flavored lemonade is a must as well...and a side of chicken, bacon, spinach cassadilla to boot. I'm feeling pretty good about myself when I look at the main menu board and see "jerk chicken sandwich" dooo! There it is, well that is a true sign of things to come as well as all the fab pizza combinations. I am genuinely sad to write this review. :( I have heard nothing but amazing things about Curbin' Cuisine from many, so I was really expecting to be over the moon about this place. I'll start with the bad first so I can end the review on a positive note. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Sandwich and the Parmesan Pretzel bites with cheese. The Jerk Chicken Sandwich didn't have anything wrong with it, but I was very surprised with how spicy it was. I am not somebody who is intolerant to some heat with my food- I actually prefer it. I had read the reviews saying it had a bit of a kick and was ready! But this was an unenjoyable amount (in my opinion). The flavor of the sandwich was pretty good, but I didn't finish it due to the heat. If you are sensitive to spicy food I would steer clear of this sandwich. If you are crazy about the heat, I say get it! All of my opinions on the sandwich could really just be considered a personal problem. The Parmesan Pretzel Bites lacked flavor and were a little underwhelming. The Parmesan dusting was very subtle but the actual pretzel in itself missed that buttery, rich pretzel taste. On to the positive! I ordered this meal as carry out and the food was still warm when I got home (about 15 minutes away). The person working the cash register was wearing a mask and gloves and they had hand sanitizer ready and available which I was a fan of. Overall, I would rate Curbin' Cuisine 3/5 stars but will definitely be back. They have a very diverse menu and with all the positive reviews I'm sure I will find something i love. read more

Me and my partner called prior to arrival since we were arriving 10 minutes before closing time, the person who answered the phone said we were more than welcome to pass by. We were greeted by Misty who helped us decide what to eat after we gave her our preferences. Her customer service was excellent! She showed genuine attentiveness and was a great conversationalist. Food was prepared shockingly fast and everything tasted spectacular. We had the Brussel sprouts, Thai Chicken Crunch Wrap and Havana Cuban sandwich. Well we tried this place for the first time and one of us thought it was good while the other was less than impressed. The pot stickers tasted as though they were frozen but I don't know this to be certain. They were out of the the appetizer we drove across town to try. I have to assume it might be the item to eat since they were out of it. The sandwiches we ordered again were ok.
