I am a fan of Trader Joe's. I think they are a really good store, and although not a huge store, it is still packed with some pretty awesome goods. The produce is always looking very fresh. The prepared meals that are refrigerated are good to go, the frozen meals such as the lasagna & penne arrabiata are also delicious. The selection of beer is nice (one of my wife's favorite isles oddly enough) and they have some wine. We have tried the breads and they were good. Honestly, I have only had a couple of things here that I didn't care and says a lot. They really do pack a lot of fresh goodness into such a small space. Uhhhhhh....I like this T.J.'s 'cause: it's the closest one to me. The layout of the store allows for easy maneuvering up and down the aisles. I have grocery favs I just can't get anywhere else. Cheap frozen Indian goodies like samosas, garlic naan and chicken tikka masala. Addicted to the raspberry and chocolate trail mix! Parking isn't bad and as usual the store clerks are extremely helpful. read more

Standard trader joes with friendly and quick moving staff at the registries. Plenty of places to park in the big shopping center as well. I love the frozen dinners and healthy options that are all way cheaper than places like whole foods. Done. I have had roughly 2 experiences at this location (Springfield Plaza, Springfield Virginia) both of them bad, and I won't be shopping here or likely at any Trader Joe's again. I made a special trip over there tonight to purchase a canister of protein powder, as i'm on a crusade to get healthy, and I wanted a healthy (high-protein, high-fiber, low-sugar) breakfast substitute. I remembered when I was there that I needed egg substitute for my daughter, so I got 2 pints of that. I went to the cash register and the cashier mumbled wondering if I wouldn't rather have egg whites? I said, "Nope. I got what I wanted." He then said, "Just for future reference, we also have just egg whites." I told him that I was buying them for my daughter who needed the extra protein. I never expect to have to justify purchases to a cashier. In retrospect, I really, really wish I had told him I wasn't seeking his opinion. As I left the register, he pushed my cart toward me and said, "okay, on to bigger and better things." WTH? I know that Trader Joe's has a cult following among those who consider themselves the educated elite and feel compelled to judge others based on a cursory glance at their shopping carts. So, I'll say it now since I didn't have the presence of mind to say it then - keep your condescending, judgmental opinions to yourself. If I wanted the opinion of the career cashier at Trader Joe's, I would ask for it. read more

Such a great store! I could just close my eyes and grab 100 things and I would love all of them. I dont know how they get so much good stuff under one roof but they do it. The kona coffee cookies are amazing, as well as the naan, and the string cheese, and the sour dough bread, strawberry lemonade... this could go on for a while. read more

The people that work here are friendly and helpful and there is a good general selection of produce and other food items. The only grocery store that beats it is Wegmans. I would like a wider selection of greens (like Wegmans) and a little wider aisles. But I still give them 5 stars when compared to other grocery chains not mentioned. read more

I stopped in to purchase some 2 Buck Chuck for a neighbor of mine. I haven't been to TJs in a while. The store was fairly crowded and felt a bit tight. The staff was very friendly when I asked about a wine they use to carry and offered some other options. Checkout was a bit interesting as many people were changing queues from being impatient. The parking lot for this store is tight and cramped as there are many other businesses at this plaza. I may just head out to the Centreville store instead. read more

Three things about the staff here: They're always busy, they'll ALWAYS stop what they're doing to help you and most of them know the stock very well. The benefit of a small store is that you don't have so many items on the shelf that you have to check for expiration dates. Their turnover is so fast that everything is always fresh. Their produce is priced between Walmart and Wegmans but is fresher than either of them, ergo less waste and more succulent as well as tastier. Everyone gets in and out quickly which means that you're not waiting for parking and then walking a half mile to get there. There are just a few things they don't carry that I prefer, but that's more of a brand thing. Also, returns are simple, no questions asked and no receipt required. I love this place! read more

We shop at Traders for all of our weekly groceries. This location has a great selection, and a seriously friendly and helpful staff. Tip : avoid evening shopping-- especially Sunday evenings- its hugely busy and can get very crowded. read more

I'm addicted to Trader Joe's! I go probably once a week - mostly to restock on their Roasted Red Pepper Hummus and Greek Yogurt (sooo yummy!). They have such a great variety of fresh/frozen food and beverages (they even have Two Buck Chuck! AKA Charles Shaw wine), I've never been disappointed. Their prices are pretty reasonable and the staff is super friendly. If I can't find what I need, there is always someone ready and willing to help me find it or check in the back. The store also sends out a cute little newsletter in the mail so you can see what new products they have and what the weekly specials are. read more

Great store. I am buying here tons of stuff. From dairy , to meats, cheeses, and snacks. Vine selection is great and i found the one i love for $5.95 a bottle. They always have something that you can not find anywhere else. Lots of food from overseas. You have to try raspberry tart from France, or Blinetz with cottage cheese from Poland. Ymmm. Love also Greek Swirl with 7 different type of cheeses (find in frozen section). I always make sure i have it in my freezer. Easy and so delicious when you have friends over. Also, i found a goat milk here. My daughter had allergic reaction on caw's milk , so i was buying goat milk from here for about a year. Stuff is very helpful and always nice. read more

The location at Bailey's Crossroads is too congested. It's absurd. We went there today and there was barely enough room to push a cart, and the lines were outrageous. Even with the high gas prices, I told my husband to drive me to the one in Springfield, where it was not as busy. Love this place now more than ever since we are into organic fruits and veggies. Plus I love their sour dough bread and bruschetta, which I bought 3 jars of. Always have a craving for it so we'll be going here once a week now, if not more. read more

Extremely wide variety of beer/wine. Fresh produce/meats available daily. I really like this one because it offers a regular supply of unique foods/snacks/drinks. In addition, it is quite big and it is easy to move around (even when its quite busy). read more

I was surprised on how they handled my purchase. The box that I picked up was not opened, and this is one of the products (cereal bars) that they sell individually. I did not think about it but as soon as the cashier reached the box, one tall man came over and told her that this is sold separately and make sure that the box is not opened. I did not understand what he was saying so I smiled at him to see if he would tell me what he said. His face turned read, and he left. She opened the box and then checked to see if it's opened, before asking me if I would like to have the box being opened. Why didn't they check the box first before they opened the box. Ahhh, Trader Joe's. I love that TJ's has delicious frozen food that's ready to go when I'm ready for it. I especially love their veggie enchiladas and black bean enchiladas, which is the main reason I go. This store in particular has a larger selection of produce than some of the other TJ's I've been to. This is awesome since I used to have to go to 2 grocery stores to get my shopping done, but rarely do I have to any more when I'm in the area. read more

I love Trader... They always have great new items coming in every week... and you don't have to pay a fortune for it... The prices are great! I always go here if I want to find a specialty item... or just for everyday shopping... It's surprising how much amazing stuff they can fit into a small store but they do! Hello Trader!! I know that doesn't sound very nice but I didn't pick the name. Actually I like Trader Joe's for the fact that the cashier that helped me thanked me many times for shopping here and he bowed like a samurai... I can't say I have ever had that happen, and his hair game was pretty good with the whole bowing too (willow smith would be happy). Any who, I ran in there to specifically get cookies, Vanilla Joe Joe's. A friend of mine asked me to get some and I was like what is that?!? I looked around and they were packed somewhat on the 4th but you know that is the game you play when you shop last minute anywhere. They aisles were clean and there seemed to be nothing out of place. There were free wine tastings along with cheese tastings too. I love free stuff when I am shopping! After looking up at the above the freezer items, jackpot... Or maybe joepot? I got some hummus, salsa, and chips along the ride. its a great place if you're vegetarian like myself and want to get away from carbs. Thank you Trader Joe's. I denied them the one star because I wanted a watermelon and they were outside so it means I would have to go back in to pick up and then pay. But no biggie. read more

This location always has a nice selection of produce that isn't past its prime. However I wish the local section was bigger, but I was happy with the saturn peaches. Recommend: the canned wild alaskan salmon, whole wheat mini pitas, truffle pizza. Oh and the avocados were perfect! read more
