Love Trader Joe's - loved their food their selection, their prices their customer service. I love it all.

This is the Trader Joe's I frequent when I'm in town visiting family. I get my usuals here but I find that this Trader Joe's is somewhat smaller and doesn't carry what I normally get in Florida. Could be a location thing but I still enjoy this location. The employees are very nice, even more so than where I normally shop. One thing I was happy to find here is the impossible ground "beef" which I quickly used to make burgers and my family didn't even realize it wasn't real beef. I also really enjoy their corn dipper chips and their delicious spanish style pepper dip (see pic) which happens to be vegan friendly. I love their seasonal items especially in the fall when they bring in pumpkin everything. My family really enjoys the pumpkin pancakes, and only 1.99 the box! I think their location is ideal as well. The Hampshire Mall is walking distance, and there's also a Walmart and several other eateries nearby. read more

I just want to say that I went in the other day for nothing special. They had just received a shipment and were restocking. I wanted an item that was not on the shelf. The employee there told me they would go through the shipment find the item I was looking for and then locate me in the store also asked me how many what I like. He was so kind it made my day. Service with a smile. I always ending finding a new item to try and the food is fresh. Building is always clean. read more

I absolutely adore Trader Joe's. And this one has a special place in my heart, because this was the first one I ever set foot in. I used to run a territory out of our West Springfield office, and one day when I was driving to see a claim out near U Mass, I saw the Trader Joe's logo, stopped in and have been a big fan ever since. Today being Super Bowl eve, it was crowded, really crowded. But the people here are oh so chill and laid back. It's like Woodstock. The pushy carriage banging folks at the TJ's in West Hartford can learn a thing or two from their neighbors to the North. Trader Joe's carries a great low fat peanut butter I can only buy here -- so we got two jars. They have good prices on breakfast cereal with excellent nutritional stats. We got two bags of pot stickers, a few packs of smoked salmon, a pack of muffins, and a few jars of salsa. The quality here is always good. The selection is great. The vibe in the store and from the team members is sweet. Trader Joe's is a pleasure to visit, and I am definitely a fan. read more

Trader Joe's is hot and cold with service and finding what you need. It depends on Management and the staff. Most of the staff members seem annoyed when a customer is looking for assistance because they are always doing more talking than stocking. The talking doesn't stop there because it resumes in the checkout aisle. read more

I previously had a somewhat positive attitude toward Trader Joe's, mostly due to the quality and uniqueness of their products. However, after having visited today I am done. This is due to their over-the-top regulations they have put in place for their customers. First of all, I can commend them for their adherence to the occupancy rules -- they are enforced more stringently than any other store I know of in Western Massachusetts. However, that does not make up for the stupidity. They require every client to take a carriage saying that it forces social distancing in the store. That is just hogwash, all that accomplishes is an increase in unnecessary congestion in the aisles and does nothing to help when people pass one another. I observed several clots of people close together, far more than in any other food store I have visited. One would think they had more respect for their customers' ability to adhere to social distancing rules on their own. Then comes the regimentation. Wait here, take the carriage, turn to the left on the way out -- buggers! Other stores will post notices explaining their policies, I saw nothing in the store that said I could stand on the other side of the plexiglass barrier while being rung up, like in every other store. I found the experience demeaning and will never return. read more

Trader Joe's is doing it right. Not close to any stores so I stopped in to see what all the fuss is about. Was very impressed by the whole store. Produce was beautiful and affordably priced. Everything was we'll marked. The store layout was different, not good or bad, just different. Saving the best for last...the number one reason to do as much of your shopping as possible at TJ's is the staff. Not only were they super helpful to a newbie, they all looked genuinely happy to work there. We need more businesses like this. read more

A great place to get some good buys on produce, and their seasonal items are also a must have. Before my low carb days I loved their pumpkin bread mix. They have decent prices on a lot of items-- my mom even buys her dog biscuits from them. I like their black bean and quinoa tortilla chips, and their juices are also very good. That being said, I wish this location could organize their stuff a little better, especially in the produce section, so that people aren't on top of each other and always running into each other. It's not their fault that they're so popular, but every time one attempts to maneuver around the vegetables and nuts, it's a claustrophobic nightmare. It is so clear that from corporate on down the messages come that place importance on friendliness to the customer and if you're not doing that you are not being a Trader Joe's friend. Very nice alternative to the high prices of Whole Foods. To keep their prices cheap they have a limited selection. Meaning, instead of 10 varieties of say frozen corn, they'll have one. My only problem is the quality of the produce, which can be hit or miss, like Aldi's across the street. The Trader Joes brand is really good. They offer a lot of ethnic and unique frozen food choices. I primarily buy their frozen and dry items. Service is friendly. The store and parking lot is a madhouse on the weekends, so be prepared. Tip: still read ingredient lists if your serious about your health. Unless it's organic some foods have questionable ingredients such as, msg & caramel color. read more

I would like to give TJ's five stars, but I can't. First the good news: Their recently unionized staff is invariably cheerful and friendly. Generally, they have a good range of products, but a limited range. The bad news is that some products that I have come to like and expect have been discontinued. These include Jarlsberg cheese, with first an acceptable substitute, and then nothing but a lame Swiss cheese. Gone is their dark sourdough bread. So long to veggie sausage links and patties. No more scrumptious chocolate flakes. And prices are rising (so is everyone's). If TJ's takes notice, I'll give them more stars. read more

My kids love to hunt for the stuffed cow and get their rare treat of a lollipop. Once, when it was raining and the kids were a little exuberant, a nice woman helped me out to my car with an umbrella! Even though I grew up around Trader Joes we never really shopped there. My mother wasn't a huge fan of it and we usually opted to go to Whole Foods down the street instead. I now live in Hawaii where there is no Trader Joes.....but everyone from work always seems to bring back gifts from Trader Joes when they are on the mainland so I figured I'd do the same and purchase some goodies. The thin almond cookies are bomb, I'll give them that but the store is mostly filled with ready made foods and frozen foods so its not exactly the ideal grocery store for healthy eating. I have been to a few Trader Joe's in the west coast, so comparatively, this one is much smaller. The smaller space makes it seem a little more cramped and less space for awesome Trader Joeness on the shelves! This has turned into a regular grocery store for my family. The drive from Longmeadow is pretty far, but it is worth it. When I compare this to my local Big Y, I spend the same amount of money, but I get better quality from Trader Joe's than I would at the Big Y. Anything organic at the Big Y tends to be on the pricier side. The downer about this one is that there is no alcohol. What?!? I was pretty surprised. They normally have a decent selection of flowers also, a total plus. The worst day to shop here is a Sunday, it's like the store has been rampaged or something. The store is clean and the employees are really nice. We normally bring our own bags and start on the bagging while the cashier rings us up. I normally head up there on Saturday morning, as soon as it opens and it is great. The crowd hasn't rushed in yet and I can actually park in the Trader Joe lot, which is rarity. This place is much cheaper than Whole foods and the people here are less hoity toity. I totally recommend coming here to do your shopping. I love this place, I just wish it was closer. read more

I've been to a number of Trader Joe's around Southern California, so I know what to expect at any given location. Having said that, I thought this particular TJ's was one of the nicest I've visited, although it was a bit confusing to get into the parking lot around the other shops. Everyone who worked here was exceptionally helpful and friendly to my hamkey and myself, from the stockers to the sample lady to the checkout dude, Ezequiel. The shelves were neat and stocked, and the displays were well-done. The cheese section, my particular favorite, looked well-run and the guy stocking it even joked with the hamkey about how she couldn't decide. What would I do without Trader Joes? I eat organic and I always stop at Trader Joes first and buy everything on my list there first before I go to Whole Paycheck down the road :) No wine at this location due to Massachusetts law which only allows three stores of the same kind in the state to carry alcohol. Trader Joe's is amazing, I can go there and get most of my staples for the week without having to blow a huge hole through my wallet. I can get things like almond butter, pesto, goat cheese, and much more and still have money left over in my budget. Plus, I love their free samples! And the staff at this location is really terrific, very helpful and friendly. But for the love of God, don't even bother buying any product from this place! I once bought a pack of organic spinach from here, opened it the next day and found that it smelled terrible and was completely rotten, despite its healthy appearance. And the bananas, though they may look unripe or perfectly ripened, are pretty much all spoiled when you peel the skin back. I think the only things that are safe to get here are bell peppers and tomatoes. All the other produce has gone bad very quickly. Sometimes it's still worth it because it's much cheaper than other places but when you end up having to toss 3/4 of a banana and only being able to eat that last 1/4, you have to re-assess whether it's worth it to spend the money on it in the first place. I love TJs for the bulk of my grocery shopping but I opt to grab my produce at a local co-op these days. read more

The prices are amazingly reasonable. Their business practices MOSTLY give me a happy. They have some great snacks, you won't find anywhere else. I find the produce to be good, and inexpensive. Some of the other things are a bit touchier. It beats Wholefoods by a mile for decent business ethics for a chain store. (I ethically boycott Wholefoods due to spurious business practices.) The kids love to come here. They love the samples. They get so excited about the checkouts. (It's hard to wrangle them sometimes. I'm sorry. I try.) Everyone is SO friendly and helpful. I wish there was one a bit closer to me, but, hey... I'll take what I can get. read more

Trader Joes is like a little independent supermarket. They sell little quirky items that you generally don't find anywhere else. Staff are helpful and friendly, however the products are much more expensive than you general supermarket. My advice is to do your main shopping at your major supermarkets, however still come here to get that something different. read more

I was at your store in Hadley Mass December 30 between 3 and 3.30 pm I love your store and your staff but yesterday was different the store was busy and your staff was stocking replenishment which is great but when you are told you have to wait to get to what you are purchasing it not okay you want to get in and get out so other shoppers can get in a suggestion for now do your stocking before you open or closed then we get to checkout first checkout by the the front door or last one going out we had this very rude cashier all over us wanted my produce in a bag asked why we could not hold the cauliflower like that on its own insisted on it just was a total bad experience all around it's hard enough to shop these days without rude people she by far way out of line read more

They use to be expensive, but the prices have stayed pretty much the same for years and I would say it's now equal with what you pay at large grocery store. I hardly ever go to big Y and Stop & Shop, cause I get better quality food here for the same price, or even less. They change their selection from season to season, which I love. I totally love Trader Joe's! Friendly out-going employees, really cool selection of quality products at great prices, all in a fairly small footprint so you can get in and get out efficiently if that's your thing. If you're a cheese lover, definitely go here! TJ's has an awesome array of cheeses -- special shout out to the herbed goat cheese log and the black pepper toscano which is totally crave-worthy and that thing on the cheese board that reliably makes my guests go "hmmmm what is this one!" I also used to love the morbier but haven't seen it in the case in quite a while. Across the board, Trader Joe's cheeses are a fraction of what you'd pay elsewhere. Other TJ's products in regular rotation at our house are the artisanal chianti and pinot grigio salami logs, ginger chutney, salsa verde, masala simmer sauce (throw a jar of this into your slow cooker with a bag of TJ's frozen mini meatballs and a side of ginger chutney dipping sauce, yum!), pesto from the fridge section, frozen naan (need a 10-minute no-time-to-cook dinner? spread the pesto on the frozen naan, top with a couple slices of fresh mozz and some chopped roasted red peppers or whatever else you want and bake. TEN MINUTES til dinner, for real), frozen lemongrass chicken stix (omg, try these wrapped in a piece of green leaf lettuce and dipped in the ginger chutney), frozen grilled vegetables such as corn and also the bell pepper mix which give your dishes a nice smoky flavor without the work, frozen edamame, greek yogurt, frozen ready-to-bake mini croissants, and I know I'm leaving tons out but I'm just going to stop there because this list could go on forever. The sample table in the back corner of the store is a must-do perk, and they always have dixie cups of fresh hot coffee available there as well. Other larger Trader Joe's locations have full kitchens where they crank out some serious gnoshes, but this Hadley spot pretty much just has whatever they can do at their little sample stand. Think Lucy's 5-cent psychiatry booth; that's about the size of it. An electric frying pan provides the occasional hot treat, but you're just as likely to get a piece of a cracker with a shmear of something cold. Besides the lack of a full kitchen, the downsides of this particular Trader Joe's are: no "two-buck Chuck" ($1.99 bottles of Charles Shaw wine); the stocking is sketchy and they are frequently out of things; and the small footprint that makes quick in-and-outs a breeze also means some seriously crowded aisles, especially during peak shopping times. But the good definitely outweighs the bad and if you haven't checked out Trader Joe's yet, it's worth a trip. read more

I am a local and I love this store. The staff is phenomenal and they make it a pleasure to shop here. I am always greeted with a smile and the lines move quickly. I don't get the complaints from other yelpers about the produce at all; I don't share their experience. Everything's fresh and the prices tend to be better than Whole Foods. This looks like one of the newer Trader Joe's in a standalone building. (It looks exactly like a Walgreens if it weren't for the store name stuck on the building.) While the format and product placement is almost exactly like that of most TJ's, the aisles are wider at this one, making the shopping experience a little easier. Love this store! They have some of the coolest foods and snacks. The store is clean. The prices are fair and the staff is always helpful. They will run all over the store to help you find something as well as going into the back to see if there is any not on the shelves yet. Every time I've gone there has been someone serving samples to try out one of the food products as well as either coffee or a cold beverage do sample too. When checking out they have stickers for kids. Definitely one of my favorite places to shop. read more

I work nearby so when I'm in the mood for a healthy lunch but without the insanely high prices of Whole Foods I come here. Good selection of prepared foods but I wish there more vegan options. When I'm in the mood for chicken, I get the arugula and Israeli couscous salad. It has this ginger carrot dressing that is out of this world good. I don't know why they don't sell it! Nice staff, but they can be overbearing and too in your face at times. The parking lot leaves much to be desired so make sure you pay attention. read more

Not a big fan. Very little local product in the store. Take maple syrup for example they import grade B or C un bulk from outside the country and try to pass it off as Grade A. There are likely 100 farms within 25 miles which could provide high quality product. The stock is mostly mass produced product just like Wal-Mart just at a higher price. read more
