This Trader Joes location is relatively smaller than many I have been to. It seems to have fewer selection, less dry goods, and not as many floor employees to assist guests. But, it is located in downtown Danville so it is very convenient for those in the area. Store itself: Cluttered, messy, and products on the floor. Ive never seen a Trader Joes is this condition. Salads on the floor, the freezer goods are all disorganized with random foods items everywhere, and employees running all over the place in the front of the store. Items: Seems to be a condensed version store of the store. Many items that I enjoy in the San Ramon store are not available or out...still seems to have a decent produce and alcohol selection. Overall: Been here a couple of times, but prefer the store in San Ramon due to great service, wide selection of goods, and a clean and tidy store.

I have always enjoyed shopping at TJ in Danville not because I'm biased because I live here but because of the consistency on their great customer service whether is a normal day or during a pandemic. Even though I had to stand in line for a few minutes on an early Sunday morning, and at least 6 feet a part from others, I felt comfortable and safe shopping even during this most uncertain time. They're also limiting the number of people who can go in the store to allow for social distancing while shopping. Before you go in, someone will have hand sanitizer for you and the wipes for the carts are well stocked. I was able to get everything I needed for the two week grocery run. It was well stocked and employees are always willing to help. As for toilet paper, they had them but you can choose between a pack of toilet paper or paper towels but not both. I feel that's fair. They also announce if there's anyone standing in line who is over 60 years old that they don't have to stand in line. TJs is also using their own brown bags and aren't charging so you don't need to bring any of the cloth ones or other recyclable bags you may have gotten used to bringing (for now). Cashiers are wearing gloves and before you exit the store, another employee will gladly spray your hands with sanitizer and wish you a good day. Thanks TJs for making it a pleasant experience. Appreciate you keeping employees and customers safe.

Omg you have to try these!

Loved my recent trip here. Staff is really friendly and is always willing to help you find something! I came to grab some gluten free, soy free, dairy free snacks and couldn't find one of the items I was looking for. So happy with my interaction with one of the older employees. So sweet and knew exactly where the new chocolate covered rice cakes were. I tried the salt water taffy and it was so delicious! The flavors are amazing and the ingredients are even better. Overall came out with three really good snacks for $10. Not bad for good quality stuff.

3 bags of organic items for $60. Great deal

I absolutely love this TJ more than any other one that I have been to so far! They always are stocked with a ton of product and the staff are so nice and helpful! Right now they have buckets and buckets of peony flowers that are beautiful for only $7.99! The fruit and veggies always so fresh with a ton of variety! My go to spot to make charcuterie boards! Such reasonable prices cheeses , olives, and meats Must buy avocados from TJ. They are cheaper and perfect size I love their frozen meals and items such as cauliflower rice. Items such as eggs and milk are much cheaper than other super markets! Some of my favorite items: Aloe water Peach Moscato wine- MUST TRY ON A WARM DAY Cauliflower frozen rice Ricotta lemon zest rav - seasonal :( All the variety of cheeses Bruschetta in a container- just ass a tomato for that homemade feel Macaroons!!!!

Check it out!

Came here just cause I happen to want to visit any Trade Joe's in a given town I happen to be in. Staff was friendly and polite as I expect for my favorite grocery store chain ever!!! I will add that I was impressed to see the quick check out lane for 15 items or less (I've never seen one in any other Trade Joe's, even out of state!). Since I didn't know where things were (each store has items placed differently), I had to rely on asking an employee and I was happy to see that that aspect as well, is something that doesn't change with location (quick to help). Thank you, Danville Trader Joe's!

High class prices and foods.....low class customer service!…read moreI drove 50 miles roundtrip from Oakland to their store in Danville on Saturday afternoon to purchase premium sandwiches for a party we were having. At 3PM I attempted to order 6 sandwiches from the deli department....the guy working there said he was out of rolls! What? Out of rolls at only 3PM? How can ANY huge supermarket run out of rolls? So, I went over to their bread department and found some rolls. He then told me he can not use rolls from their own bread dept to make sandwiches. I made it clear to him I was willing to pay extra for the rolls but he said he couldn't do it. So I went and got the store manager on duty, a nice fellow named John. John was very apologetic about having run out of rolls and he also agreed that his staff should have made my sandwiches with bread from the bread department, given they prematurely ran out of rolls. He went over and spoke to the woman behind the deli counter. She told the Manager that they never said they wouldn't make the sandwiches from alternative bread, it was just that I did not say I would be paying extra for that bread! That was not the truth. When I said to her directly you are not speaking truth to your manager and I said do not put words into my mouth, she insisted I never told the guy back there I'd pay extra for the bread! Who needs such confrontations and frustrations over sandwiches after driving 25 miles each way to buy some? I walked out. We will never be shopping at Lunardi's market again. They sure know how to apply excessive high prices to their goods while at the same time not providing any exceptional customer service! That store has some major issues with their staff and attitude problems. This is the fault of upper management not instructing their underlings what a "premium store experience" should feel like. I certainly could have gotten a more customer friendly, positive experiences from any local Dollar Store, compared to the circus I received at Lunardi's Saturday!

Any butcher worth their salt, should know what that is. He huffed and puffed, and said "tell me inches." I told him 1 1/2 inches. He rolled his eyes again and said "there you go buddy!" I told him to forget it. They offer full service butchery, but they will hate you if you ask for anything. If you want that kind of attitude for overpriced choice beef and the same Swift Pork you can get at any grocery store then you will love it here.

This grocery store is the second one that I visited this morning, and I'm so thankful that they are here and there were many options to choose from, and the aisles were clean, and the two staff members that I spoke to were really nice and friendly even though they were working during this cold holiday morning.

On Friday 5, 2026…read more Danville store # 786 Pathetic enough for a company that's open to the public to have a 2 1/2 star rating. The company in higher authority, needs to look at that as detrimental, & really look at this as a crisis in changing management practices. I'll go into further details. My elderly client likes to shop here to get her items. To stock up for the week. Since she lives in Blackhawk, she prefers shopping at the Danville Smart & Final store. Every time I go in, there's always conflict & harassment within the store. Among the employees, and even the customers that shop. Completely disrespectful and it takes zero dollars to be decent. Which the majority of humanity fails at doing. There's been a couple of incidents between a supervisor named Natina. Calling out a specific employee named Lina, right in front of my client and I. There was another customer in the back of us when, I did not finish my transaction at the register. Completely unprofessional, the right thing to do is take the employee in a private setting and confront the employee not in front of the customers. Another incident with Natina, when I had asked where the Polish sausages were. She had yelled out, YOU CAN'T SEE them? Pointing RIGHT here. I bypassed and telling her anything that I wanted to tell her. Because I'm not with the drama. But unfortunately, after encounter and encounter, of the disrespect. I want to go above and beyond to report the ladies that work at this company in management. Creating so much havoc. When my client and I shop here. The treatment at the store, with the customers & employees is mind-boggling. If there were no shoppers in the store, that whole company would fall to the ground. Which puts money in their pockets to pay their bills. A customer by the name of Carl Kumar. Had reported the company as well for the harassment and treatment of the customers. Not only the customers but a specific cashier & employee that's been with the company for a really long time. I honestly don't know how management. Lisa and Natina. Go to sleep at night with themselves. They must really not like their life, to treat anybody within indecency. My client sees the harassment in the store as well as other customers and myself. Confronting this issue I brought it to the store manager Lisa's attention. Lisa did not want to hear my side of the story. She had told me that because I had confronted her, that this would fall back on Lina. An employee that's been the company for a long time. I didn't feel like I needed to know that. That's none of my business. My problem is not with Lina. My issue is with Natina. A supervisor that is always harassing the employees and the customers. Lisa not wanting to hear the conflict between the situation. Plus solving the issue at hand. I don't know who put her in charge. She's horrible at doing her job. Management at the store is completely disrespectful. I do not know why Lisa would bring Lina into the equation. Other than Lisa wants Lina to lose her job that & isn't right. Lisa said this because i told her. I will report the situation and issues at hand, to the Higher official. Every job title needs to have conflict resolution management classes, in how to solve an issue among the employees. And no harassment or conflict should be even obligated or facilitated between customers EVER. Natina is right! lol I don't own the company at Smart & Final. Neither does she, but she fails to realize that I am a customer. I will not be going to human resources, for any of the conflict at hand or complaints. Simply because I am not an employee at Smart & Final. I am a customer. Which in retail Customer Service the customer is always right. There's always somebody above somebody else. The messiness at the store is mind-boggling. Not only from the customers disrespect by the management at the store, but also to the employees at conflict. Also I would like to mention the lanes at Smart & Final are not wheelchair accessible. They are so narrow for any kind of disabled person to get through those lines and navigate effectively. Too many things in the aisle, with crowded spaces. I also wanted to bring this up to Lisa's intention, but she did not want to hear what I had to say. Therefore Lisa not handling the conflict at hand. I felt like my only obligation at the time was to contact Danville Police to report this issue. The conflict and the issues that are undergoing at Smart & Final store # 786 For sometime now. I will also be bringing this to corporate's attention as well.

Come to think of it, it makes sense to have a store that offers balsamic vinegar and olive oil tastings in quaint downtown. The walls are lined with so many different flavors you can read about and sample. We stayed in the balsamic vinegar corner where there were all types of fruit flavors and had signs offering recommendations of how to use it (on salads, fruit, cocktails, even ice cream). We didn't wander to the olive oil section, but I definitely will next time. They have the following price breakdown for bottle size: Small: $8 Medium: $14 Large: $21 They also have tinier bottle sizes and gift bags which would be fun to give/receive. I believe the owner rang us up and she sealed our bottle for us to preserve freshness (it was just corked when purchased). She said to come back with the empty bottle for $1 off!

The shop ladies were so super friendly and kind. They said we could try any of the balsamic vinegar flavors mixed with sparking water if we wanted to. (But I thought these were only for salads? So wrong of me!) They have a glass jug with the sample flavor of the day already mixed with water. That was the first one I tried: Cranberry Pear. Ooh!!! It was so delicious. Not what I thought it would be. It tasted like a soda without all the sugars. It was actually quite refreshing and delightful. I asked what their top 3 flavors were: - Cranberry Pear - Peach - Sicilian Lemon I decided to try Peach. She added sparking water to it. Omg! That was even more delicious. I'm pretty sure any of these flavors will be a hit. Different flavored vinegars and olive oils adorned the walls! Each flavor has a sign with its name, what they are best used for, and what they are best paired with. I wish I could try them all but I can save that for another visit. They also sell pastas, tea towels, little bowls, and other cute things to go with their products. Also found out that Maison Benoit uses their products at their bakery. Love local businesses supporting each other!
