I thanked him and began wandering up and down the aisles. I love hardware stores because they're filled with stuff that, when you see whatever, you think you can do something with it. They had a beautiful paint selection area and lots of little things like screwdrivers, axes, things like that. Anyway, the two people working there yesterday were very friendly and, if I lived nearby, I would probably try this place before I went to Home Depot or Lowe's since I prefer to spend money with "the little guy" rather than the big corporations. Unfortunately we made a mistake with the area we prepared and the house had to be left on our property but they were very accommodating and understanding, they came back and moved it for us on the prepared area once we finished it. The delivery men were very efficient and made sure the house was just right before leaving and they did it all in the rain!

Allow me to elaborate on today's experience. I walk into Lowes -Mt. Olive and head straight back to the appliance dept. I am looking for a new stove. An employee, we will call him "H" is assisting another customer. I stand nearby, never greeted or even noticed. I eventually say excuse me is there another employee in this department that can help me, "H" says, "yeah, he's around here somewhere" rather than him calling the other employee, I have to go on a damn scavenger hunt. The hunt turns up nothing. I return to the counter where "H" is still assisting the other customer who is now on the phone contemplating whatever purchase they are considering. I say to "H" can you call the other employee? He says, yeah... Like really? You could have done that all along? humph.. The other employee replies to the call after "H'" says there is a woman here needing help. The other employee replies, "Yeah, in a minute" Wow!! I wait around for a few more minutes, never to meet the other employee, I eventually say to "H" whelp Home Depot gets my money; "H" replies "okay, bye" I then go to the front desk to ask for the manager, giving a snippet of my experience today to the employee at the counter. A manager is called but again after a few minutes of waiting never comes up. I tell the employee at the counter, thanks and please let your manager know that they can read the review here, just like the rest of you. @Lowes-train your people @Lowes-poor customer service is not acceptable

We have spent an extraordinary amount of money in both of these stores. We rarely need to make returns, but we just had a recent instance of having to return 5 bags of polymeric sand because we decided to have the job done by a contractor. I saved the receipt and my husband went to the store to return the sand. It was a VERY UNPLEASANT experience to learn that there is a 90 day window on returns (with receipt) and NO EXCEPTIONS ARE GRANTED FOR A RESELLABLE ITEM such as polymeric sand! Needless to say, we have made our LAST purchase at Lowes and I will be sharing this VERY NEGATIVE experience EVERYWHERE I can.

The cashier was very helpful in ringing up the purchase, and provided helpful suggestions for planting the tree. While we spoke in the store she radioed a team member to tie up the branches for ease of transport. The gentleman put plastic wrap down to keep the car interior clean and braced the bucket with rocks to keep the tree from rolling while driving. I am pleased with the knowledge and service at Hoffmans. They always have quality plants.
