We had the best experience ordering our custom made playhouse for our children. They were able to choose the color of every detail the exterior, trim and roof! It took a few weeks (about 5) to have built and delivered but was worth the wait it is perfect. Unfortunately we made a mistake with the area we prepared and the house had to be left on our property but they were very accommodating and understanding, they came back and moved it for us on the prepared area once we finished it. When asked about making a custom shed, staff directed me to their website for the option to design. We intended to speak to an expert in person to help answer our questions. Let me first start off by saying, the customer service from Jim the manager at Amish Mike's was about the worst I've seen in a long time. Actually no, the worst I've EVER seen or been put through. To tell a customer to "suck it up, it was your mistake" was about as disrespectful and discourteous as one could be. He had other choice words to say but I'll leave those out of this review. If there was an error in an order is that the way to do business or to respond to a customer? Sad, just sad. Mike, you should be embarrassed to have a manager running your facility like that. If anyone is wanting to buy anything from Amish Mike's in hackettstown Here is my experience. They gave me a shed with mold all in it. It's going on 8 months of them maybe coming back to fix it Doors are crooked and they don't line up. Garage door is dented. They spot painted it when the did come back and left and it looks like trash. They wanted to just floor paint over the mold in the shed and said that will fix it. I got to the point That I asked for the paint and floor paint and it took them a bit to get back to me but when They finally did they said they will give me the paint( so I can paint it over the summer) but still have not given it to me. I'm sure many people have had a positive experience but mine is straight trash. I asked for the owner to call me several times and they simply had someone lower call me and say they told him them deal with it because they didn't want to deal with it. I have been withholding this review for a couple weeks, waiting on a response to an email I sent. No reply to-date, though. I had been in communication with many reps at Amish Mike for at least four months in regard to a custom lean-to shed. My requirements were for 7' to 6' height (or as close as possible for the interior). I had limited height space outside to place this shed - 7'3" as the ground was at the time). What I did not know, since the first time ordering a shed, was that the shed pad would lower the existing outside foundation several inches thereby giving additional height than the 7'3". I also did not know that the 4x4 under the floor and the foundation above the 4x4 to the interior floor would take up 9"+ and count toward the 7'. My final product came in at 6' to 5' of internal height. I emailed my complaint a couple days after the shed was received (headed out of town right after delivery) and for two weeks now I have not received a single reply - though I guess it would have been similar to Tom K. who they told it's not there problem or fault and "suck it up". Sean, who did the site check, actually called me a week later to schedule a site check - like what did he do when he was here if he forgot? He should have advised about the dimensions, told me that the pad could go lower and that the exterior physical dimensions could be amended to accommodate the desired interior space. Nothing. Also, the spring lock on the left door at the bottom does not line up and does not sit in its slot so that is a construction error and the doors themselves are slightly unaligned (though minor compared to the height and lock). The overall customer service was subpar and now stuck with an inferior product. The construction quality (aside from the lock) does seem good, though, if only the dimensions were closer to what was expected. read more

I bought a shed from Amish Mike and was quite pleased with the shed. Sheds are not cheap and to be clear, Amish Mike is not offering cheap sheds--but they are offering good service. I was most impressed with how they stand behind their product for several years. I had no bad experiences in the buying or delivery process. If prices were all close to each other, I would pay a few hundred dollars more to get my shed from Amish Mike. There is a confidence there that other places don't seem to give. read more

I never write reviews but... Amish Mikes was great,when I went in the Gentleman at the counter was nice seemed helpful. That is until I mentioned a custom shed. I wanted a simple custom garbage shed. Probably a quick easy job for them. The gentleman took down all the specs and such, so far so good. Then when we were done he took my phone number, I double checked it was right and he said he would reach out to me in a few days maybe a week with an estimate, this was roughly April 18th. Well to this date that call has never come. Even if they were disinterested in building my shed a nice courtesy call would've been A okay with me. But to totally disregard me is unprofessional. They do have high quality sheds and things for sale, but they are terribly expensive. I was really shocked actually.

I have to warn any buyers who live in a city that this company will not live up to your expectations. We agreed upon a price and signed a contract after pictures of our home access (and door dimensions) were shared with the sales staff. We were truly excited for this shed although it was overpriced when compared to competitors such as Home Depot and Costco. We received a phone call one week later stating that the labor and delivery price would increase by 20 percent. Upon hearing this and escalating our concerns, the company responded with an additional 20 percent charge for install due to the access of the home. In total, our labor cost were abruptly raised 40 percent of the total cost after we signed the contract. They repeatedly offered to refund our money and we finally accepted it. This company is not capable of difficult jobs and does a poor job living up to their end of their deal. They aggressively priced us out after contract signing. On a positive note, the durability of the shed seems good but their execution and reliability as a business is poor. Buyer beware for the bait and switch if your home presents a challenge. read more

I had my shed delivered today and couldn't be happier with how the entire process went. Mike was very responsive to my initial email inquiries. He was able to work with me on the design, options, and pricing. I made one trip to the store to finalize everything, and that was it. The shed arrived at the beginning of the two hour delivery window in perfect condition. The delivery person was unbelievable. Despite some snow still on the ground and wet conditions, the shed was perfectly placed on the back of my property with absolutely no damage to my lawn. I will definitely use Amish Mike again.
