She reached out to one of the makers, on my behalf, about a cookie mix without chocolate, took down my phone number and immediately contacted me once hearing back from the maker. In addition to the Buddha chip cookie mix, she is also making oatmeal raisin and sugar cookie kits! Kristen stated she will contact me and leave one to the side when it arrives. I'm sold before it even makes it into the store simply because of the overall exceptional customer service. Would highly recommend a visit to support/buy local. However, aside from these interactions, I found the overall customer service to be lacking. Several associates did not acknowledge me--there were no greetings, smiles, or offers of assistance. Upon leaving after completing my purchases, I passed a group of staff members engaged in conversation, and no one acknowledged or thanked me. I would also like to note that, as a person of color, the only individuals who greeted or engaged with me were also people of color, including the security staff at the entrance. I believe this is important feedback for fostering a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all customers.

Each area of the shop is well curated and items are displayed with thought and care (I thought the basement was organized well IMO). I spent about an hour and a half at Valley Vintage to hit all of the areas, and some time was devoted to flipping through their records. This was well organized and some good finds. I ended up buying a copy of the original soundtrack from The Man from U.N.C.L.E. on vinyl for around $13. It was in good condition and plays.
