CON ARTISTS. These people are so shady, they deleted my review from their Google reviews. Notice the difference in their Google reviews which they control, from the commentary and scores here on Yelp which they do not control. If I could give them -10 stars I would. In 46 years of being in business, and in my opinion, this is the shadiest business I have ever come across in my life. They are not trustworthy and again, in my opinion, are scam artists. Last year my brother in law and I rented 2 wave runners for the day. When we got there my "spidey- senses" were alerted when a technician was checking in an ATV returned the night before and the manager stopped and said "no, write it back up, there's a scratch on the decal of the door. $480" We video-ed the delivery of the 2 wet bikes and off we went. I have owned wave-runners since 1993. I have had 7. I know how to care for, use and repair them. Upon return the technician checked everything, got on his back and crawled under the double trailer to check the intake grates and impellers, signed off on the paper work (which we failed to photograph) ... off we went. 45 mins later I get a call. Allegedly, one of the bikes sucked up some fishing line and caused wear to the O-ring. (Impeller ring) More the $1000 of alleged damage. We had taken out the insurance, but still would have been hundreds out of pocket. We immediately drove the 20 minutes back and the "show" began. From behind the counter, Prop #1 the "fishing line" closely followed by behind the counter Prop #2, the "worn" O-ring. Most important part of the show, Prop #3, the altered paper work. We demanded and were repeatedly denied the ability to speak to the technician. Lied to about the paper work, and taken as rubes and idiots. In full disclosure things got so heated and I raised so much hell, the cops were called. When threatened by that peach of a manager I insisted they be called because I wanted the police to see the conduct of a business in their community. There was a point of comedy.. when the peachy manager told me that I could no longer rent from them ever again, I looked her straight in the face and said, "That's funny, I made the decision on the drive here!" Ultimately and appropriately they dropped the claim if I promised to allow the charges for the rental to go through on my Amex. Of course I would, as prior to the attempted coercion, we got the services we paid for. In my opinion, these are the biggest group of cheaters and charlatans I have ever encountered. BEWARE. If they are willing to delete negative reviews from Google in order to fool and LIE TO prospective customers about the caliber of their service rating what else are they cheating on? read more

Not really sure why this has so few reviews. We rented a snowmobile today and the place was packed. I think they have 65 sleds and by the time we got ours there were only 5 left so everybody is renting from here and not leaving reviews? So for anyone coming from out of state and worried about lack of reviews- don't. We got a new 2023 model with only 150 miles on it, heated handlebars, gps/navigation and also rented heated helmets and everything was awesome. They are located right on a trail so you can just hop right on and start having fun. I'm only giving 4 stars because as I mentioned the place was packed and it took us about an hour from when we showed up to when we actually got on our sled. Otherwise great and wouldn't hesitate to rent again. read more

After we dropped off, got a call about a bunch of damage that was not our fault, they tried to show pictures before and after as "evidence " that were completely worthless, and no time, date, or ability to determine where/what equipment it actually came from. Always greeted as soon as you step in but not much after that. The showroom for new sleds is pretty nice, clean. There isn't much for used stuff and what is there seems like it's priced way too high. After the initial greeting you don't get much interaction. I don't really think I would go out of my way to buy from trackside, there isn't a lot of appeal. Also if you buy a brand new sled for $10k+ you have to come pick it up, no delivery. What?! read more

Track Side - ATV Rentals/Tours Near Me - Eagle River, Wisconsin

This was for a UTV rental and I was probably the biggest pain for them. Leading up to the trip our plans kept changing forcing me to contact trackside a few times about changing our rental date... which was never a problem for the store. The day of our rental it was storming and the staff at the store gave us an option to back out of our rental with no charge, which i thought was nice. Once the weather calmed we ended up renting their Commander 800 max. The machine was clean and performed perfectly. No problems when I returned the machine. They even gave me a great route to follow. Had a great experience here. We rented 9 snowmobiles for a bachelor party and they were awesome! The sleds were in great condition and very new. All of them had less than 4,000 miles on them. A couple only had 300 miles. They had plenty of gear to purchase in their shop for very reasonable prices. Things were a little disorganized but everything was fine. There are awesome trails in this area! Make sure to get the two stroke---they're so much more powerful than the comparable 4 stroke. read more

Rented a two-person sled for my wife and I. First time in the Northwoods, first time renting a snowmobile and the first time snowmobiling in over twenty years. Whole process went really well. Initial rental was easy and the guy that gave us the sled and helmets went out of his way (after they'd already closed) to explain the trail system. Dropping off was just as easy. Had to wait about 5-10 minutes as about ten other people were dropping off at the same time, but it was a painless process. We'll definitely use Track Side next time. read more

Stopped into the service department to pick up some parts for my husband who had called and talked to Steve about our ATV. What an amazing and painless process! Of course I had no idea what I was going to go pick up because my husband had made all of the arrangements over the phone. When I walked in I was greeted with a Good Morning and a smile! I've been to other dealerships that didn't give me the time of day, but Steve took the time to explain to me what it was that my husband had asked for and how it affected different parts of the ATV. I was blown away by how kind, helpful and knowledgeable he was! I'm so glad that Track Side had the part we needed! It really got us out of a bind! I would recommend to everyone! WORST service department ever! Brought my Ranger in for repair. Told me I needed whole new frame, when in fact, frame comes in two pieces and front and back sections can be installed separately. Quoted me $8,000 for repair assuming my insurance company would not mind being ripped off. Went somewhere else and got the total repair done for $2600. Not sure if rude to me because I am a woman or they are just rude and abrasive to everyone. Do NOT go here if you hate being screwed over!! read more

BAD experience. When somebody rents a can am 1000 cc side-by-side from you they are probably going to be performance minded, looking for your best performing machine. When you tune it way down like you do, you have a golf cart with 1000 stickers on it but somehow you guys still charge a premium price for it? Come on guys that is a scam, your customers deserve to know that the 570 you guys rent for a cheaper price Will out perform the 1000 in every aspect while trail riding. Beware, when calling to reserve a Snowmobile rental they try to charge weekend rate when we were renting during week a $65.00 per day difference, than after returning sled from 2 day rental person checked snowmobile in and gave us the all clear and we were on our way home. 2 hours later we get a phone call saying there is damage to one of the rentals and they want to charge us??? Convenienant for them considering we were already on road home and cannot see the supposed damage. I will be renting elsewhere for sure you may want to do he same. read more

Trackside is a great place to rent and buy adult toys for land and sea! This past weekend we used one of their 4 seat Polaris RZRs and let me tell you, I have never had so much fun in my life! I have been renting snowmobiles with my buddy for years from Trackside. Never a problem. This year my buddy bent the front bumper. we took pictures of the sled. bent front bumper and cracked plastic grill. They charged $1,500 for $350 worth of damage. this included a new muffler. They sent pictures of a different sled that was damaged. We sent pictures of our sled and still kept their story. Do not do business with them. It was easy for them to do this because we live in a differant state. they also do not sell insurance when you rent. read more

Take your business elsewhere. Took my PWC there to get serviced. When they called me to tell me what was wrong with it they stated they had only put in 30-45 minutes of labor figuring out what was wrong. I decided not to spend the $600-$900 they quoted for the repair and indicated to not do anything else. When I went to pick it up, the investigation labor magically jumped to 1.5 hours. Had to pay $160 for nothing... AND they indicated if I did decide to fix it or buy a new one that money would be in addition to anything else. Most other places will put that investigation time toward repairs or other purchases. Would not recommend. read more

Dropped off our jet skis over Memorial Day weekend to get serviced for the summer season. We kept checking in with them for about a month to confirm they would be ready by 4th of July weekend. We were reassured they would be. Well, here we are, over a month later, and the skis are untouched. Instead of apologizing, the service dept made excuses. Bottom line, they had over a month to complete a 3 hour job, and they couldn't deliver. Take your business somewhere else. This place is a joke! read more

We spent over $5,000 in rentals over two days time and had minor incidents on trails, when returning the snow mobiles we were accused of "causing a train wreck" and employees were very rude. Minor damage was blown out of proportion and we were accused of damage that we had not done...we were told to return snow mobiles by 4, for 5 closing but they were already shutting shop down at 4,and were going to charge us extra day rentals. Two Gendelman had gotten in an accident and requested help but the employees stated they were closed and too bad, we can't help you! Very poor customer service and not worth doing business with ever.... Take your business elsewhere! read more

We rent a house every year in Eagle River and also rent a jet ski. We always rented the jet ski from Trackside. This year we decided to also rent a boat. So, I called Trackside in April to ask questions about renting a boat for a week during the month of July. The rude girl said they were taking names because they have not decided on rates for this coming summer. July is 3 months away! She suggested that I hold tight until they have more time to decide what their rates would be without any guarantee that we will have a boat during our vacation. What kind of ho dunk place is this? Wait until they are ready? What happened to customer service? I called both Boat Sport and Bubba's and talked to some great knowledgable people. They both had rates available and in fact have rented a few boats for the summer. I called back the rude girl at Trackside to tell her that her competition has rates available and in fact has rented a few boats for the summer. Took my Sea-Doo Challenger 2000 in for repairs due to it not starting after storage for the winter. They said the problem was a bad fuel pump. Then they did NOTHING, as far as making any repair attempts! They said they could not get a new one, and wanted me to try to get it. When I checked, they are readily available from many sources on the internet, as well as Mercury. Why does the customer have to supply their own repair parts? Needless to say, I told them I would simply picked up the boat. When I got there, it was in their yard with the keys in it, and NO ONE even stopped or questioned me from driving in, hooking it up and leaving, so anyone could have stolen the boat from right under their noses. I would not bring anything there again. read more

Not the best place to rent your snowmobiles. The girl who was checking us in was very rude and unpleasant. It took forever to check in even though we had reservations and even longer to get our snowmobiles after the check-in. They also love to charge for everything that they could possibly think of. Will not be returning. Last year we rented at Paul's Rent All. Everything went smoothly and quickly and the staff was very helpful. read more

I RECOMMEND AVOID TRACKSIDE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I purchased a used jet ski in 2014. It was in good condition and had been very well maintained. Our family used it that summer while vacationing in the Eagle River area. It ran well and we had no problems with it. Since we do not live in Wisconsin, I had Trackside winterize, maintain and store the jet ski. They convinced me to pay the additional charge for indoor, heated storage to help prevent any maintenance issues related to weather exposure. When I requested to pick up the jet ski in the summer of 2015, they called me back and advised me that it wouldn't run and needed a new starter for approx. $450 which I agreed since I needed it to be in running condition when we arrived for family vacation. After installing the new starter, they called back and advised that it also needed a new battery and spark plugs for approx. $75 which I agreed to. After this, they advised that it was in good working condition and ready for the water. When I finally arrived, picked it up, and got it to the lake, it started but repeatedly stalled and would not run. I ended up stranded on the lake for 2 hours awaiting rescue and towing back to dock. I called Trackside and took it back in to them. After a couple of days of frustration and phone calls, they said that the problem was related to the fuel shut off valve not working properly and probably some old fuel or deposits in reserve fuel line getting into the main line. My understanding was that these were the very reasons that I had paid them to winterize, maintain and store the jet ski. If I delivered it to them in good working condition, I expected that it would be returned in the same condition. I called and asked repeatedly to speak with the owner of Trackside to complain. I was told repeatedly that he was out to lunch, with a customer, in a meeting, etc. He never returned my call. Instead, he had a manager call who attempted to explain that these things just sometimes happen and maintaining a jet ski is expensive By the time we finally got the jet ski back, we were only able to have use of it for a few days before returning home for the summer. We decided to give Trackside the benefit of the doubt and allow them to store it again in the winter of 2016. I called in June of 2016 to advise that I would be arriving and needing pick-up in July. The service manager I had worked with in 2014 and 2015 was no longer working there. A different service manager called back and advised me that the starter was frozen and the spark plugs needed replacing. When I questioned this, he just said that sometimes old starters simply go bad especially if there is residual moisture left in them before winterizing. I explained that I looking for or eliminating moisture would be part of the winterization that I had paid for. Then I reminded them that their service department had installed the starter and plugs the previous year. He said that he would look into this and get back with me. He called back a week later and said that upon a second inspection, the starter was actually ok and did not need to be replaced after all. It just needed to be lubricated but they racked up a $127 service charge for this. When we went to Trackside to pick up the jet ski, their service staff attached the trailer to my truck with the cover over the jet ski. After driving the short distance to the lake, I discovered that they had not secured the jet ski to the trailer with the anchoring belts. It was simply latched at the nose through the eye hook. It had been setting on top of the trailer but they had not secured it. They had placed the anchor belts in the storage department of the jet ski. I was very fortunate it didn't slide off of the trailer while driving. Finally, when I removed the cover, the jet ski was filthy dirty. I spent 30 minutes wiping it down and cleaning it up. For all that I have paid them, I would have thought that they might have at least taken a few minutes to wipe it off. I very much want to support local businesses in the Eagle River area. I do not gain any pleasure from speaking critically about a business. But in this case I believe others should know my experience. I have taken my business elsewhere in Vilas County and do not plan to return to Trackside. read more

We have previously used Track side to purchase our brand new RZR and had other good business experiences with them. We then bought speakers to install on our new machine. We had issues with one of the speakers so we dropped it off for them to fix. When we questioned the status of the speaker some weeks later, we were told they did not have it and we must not have dropped it off. That being said, we are sure we dropped it off. They insisted they had no documentation or anything (mind you it is now a new service manager than when we brought it in). Instead of us both splitting the difference in good faith of both parties, we were in so many words told, your problem not ours. So much for good business etiquette. The first time I brought my boat to Track Side for service and they ended up having it for a month! It was very nice weather for the whole month and my family missed out enjoying the boat. I thought it was an electrical issue. They told me it was the fuel pump($700) and that was not the problem. They racked up all of these hrs trying to fix it and then told me it might be the computer($1000). Lets change every part on the boat to see if that is the issue game. It ended up being a fuse ($ 2 dollars) and they put like 10 hrs on the boat! Then they gave me a bill for over $700 dollars which I went in and talked to the owner. He deducted a few hrs of labor and my bill was still over $600 dollars. He said he could not do any better with the labor cost. I told him OK and paid the bill. I then asked if we can work out something to store the boat over the winter and he agreed. I had it winterized and a oil change. (second chance for them) I run a business with very high end clients and believe in superior customer service! Well I also told them to detail the boat before putting it away. I paid the bill up front for everything. When I called to get the boat into the water in May they said they can't do it for two weeks and they are very busy.( I guess replacing fuses on other boats!) When I did get the boat it smelled and there was mold all over the place.I have tons of pictures and will show everyone this summer. NEGATIVE Word of mouth reviews are the worst kind for a business plus pictures don't lie. So once again I go down there and talk to Mike in their service shop about this issue. He said they cleaned the outside of the boat instead. I told them to clean the inside and once again bad customer service. He also told me before they store the boat they wipe it out and clean it. Before I went down there to talk to them I brought a bucket, shop vac and tons of cleaning supplies to clean the boat. Mike told me not to worry they will pull the boat out of the water and get it cleaned right now. I said are you SURE and told him I had all the stuff in my car now to clean the boat. So two days go by and the boat still has mold and it was never moved or cleaned. I can tell it was not moved, I tie the boat up a certain way, I call Mike and told him and he said someone wiped it down. IT WAS NEVER TOUCHED AND I HATE BEING LIED TO AS A CUSTOMER. So my wife and I ended up wasting time cleaning the boat. I tell everyone this story and the feedback I get is everyone local knows not to go there!!!! I said," Wow wish I would have know this ahead of time". I told Mike in service that they would never touch my boat again. Eagle River is lucky to have Trackside. They offer great recreational products for sale and rent, but what really distinguishes them is the quality of people and service. Butch, Greg, Ryan are knowledgable and always have great insights on new products and options. Their service is also exceptional. A few examples. I let a relative use one of my brand new snowmobiles and unfortunately they drove it into a tree. I thought it was totaled but Trackside dismantled it, order the needed parts and reconstructed it. No one else would have even touched it. Another example is the service during peak seasons. The north woods is plagued by seasonal demand. When the snow is good everyone wants to use their equipment before it melts. Similarity when the weather is nice we all want our PWC and boats at the same time. Trackside is always honest on when you can expect your equipment. They have always meet their commitments and often exceeded my expectations. They don't add services that are not needed. I always take my 4 snowmobiles in at the end of the season with a list of work. Last year Trackside called saying they would be happy to do all the work but some of what I requested was not really required since two of the sleds had little mileage.
