What a hidden gem. Captain Steve is great and his pizza is even better. Bring the family and enjoy. Great time.

Great views of the water, food and hospitality. Would highly recommend, especially for families with kids.

We had a group of 16. Service was amazing and Steveo was very accommodating. Food was delicious!! read more

Pirates Hideaway - Pesto citrus pizza and sausage and pepperoni pizza. Very yummy. Wood fired. Great flavor and crust. - Boat Charters Near Me - Eagle River, Wisconsin

Captain Steve & Pirate Christian were greats hosts for our group of 6 adults & 7 kids (1-11.) their ship was clean, easily boarded, enough seating for all guests. We learned all sorts of history about Eagle River and saw a few eagles & their nests as we navigated thru the Eagle River Chain. We took the 11:15 am tour & missed the worst of the recreational boat traffic. Great family event. Good value for the money. read more

Have been coming up north for 35 years. This is the first time we have come to Pirates Hideaway. Upon arrival at 11 am when they opened we played bags outside and got some alcoholic beverages at the bar. Their pizza is amazing. Their margarita was good and not crazy expensive. The boat ride was great and it had a bathroom on it which was helpful. The owners are so kind and get everyone involved. They give out chips and lemonade/water they have pirate tattoos and pointed out eagles nests along the path. I wish they would've went one way down the chain instead of going halfway one way and halfway another. We got ice cream before we headed out. Overall, definitely a place to check out if you have kids or want to sit outside and look at the lake. read more

While the pirate ship ride is expensive our 7 and 5 year olds loved it. They give out snacks and water /lemonade on board and the kids get a 'tattoo' and a bandana. We grabbed a couple beers from the tiki bar to take with us. After we were finished we got ice cream as well. Fun little place to visit. read more

The service was decent, you order at the bar and your food is brought to you. There is no server to bother you. Once you're done you toss your garbage yourself. Then you go back to the bar to close your tab if you didn't pay initially. The ambiance is alright. I'm not sure how it is on the ship, since we didn't go on it. Otherwise, it's outdoor seating. There is corn hole you can play as well. The pizza is amazing, especially the crust. Definitely recommend. I got the margarita pizza, it was amazing. Lots of flavor. The only downside is the price. It's a little expensive in my opinion, but the food makes up for it. I also got nachos as an appetizer, a little disappointed at the size of them for the price. Although, the veggies are fresh and you can taste it. Overall, the food was delicious. I do recommend you go here, it was a fun experience. Especially if you're on vacation. They have live music Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. read more

This was a wonderful experience for the kids & adults too! Captain Steve was great as was Lindsey, the first mate. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & looking forward to returning. read more

This place is an actual dream oasis. Chill reggae music playing, plenty of shade, lawn games on the most beautiful quaint bay. The cocktails are cold, staff a pleasure and the wood fired pizza looked delicious. Fun place for families or groups. Yet we enjoyed it at as a couple. The happiness overflowed in everyone around us! Only wish we could see it at night. read more

Brought my two kids here along with family to try the pizza. It's a wonderful environment for kids to run around and get their energy out. The tables were aplenty and each had an umbrella for shade. The pizza was super tasty and the cheesy breadsticks were top notch! We'll definitely be back every summer! read more

For many years we have enjoyed the "pirate" ship sightings while out on the chain. However, when the grandkids arrived, how fun it was to stop in for ice cream and pirate dress-up (while us adults enjoyed drinks and a warm fire). But I have to say the real kicker for me was the addition of wood-fire pizza. Wow, these folks really mastered the art. I've had pizza in many fine restaurants here and abroad, and I'm amazed that some of the best I've had can now be found in the Wisconsin northwoods. Well done! read more

The Pirate Cruise was one of the highlights of our Eagle River vacation! Captain Steve and his son Steve-o are awesome and super friendly. Captains let my son "drive" the ship and he had a huge smile on his face the whole time. We got to the hideaway a little early and grabbed drinks. We then ordered coal fire pizza and brought in onboard with us for dinner. Pizza was very good. After the cruise we had ice cream and listened to some live music. Perfect vacation evening! read more

We did the scenic hour and a half tour on the pirate ship and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was fun, lively and the perfect way to relax with our family. We have two boys, age 12 and 8 and the 12 year old thought this adventure would be "babyish". It didn't take him long to change his mind. Captain Steve and Stevo were excellent. Both are super personable, outgoing and funny. Our youngest got to drive the pirate ship and yeah, he thought he was the coolest kid in the world. We will absolutely be back in 2021. Bonus: the expanded tiki lounge and the live music was a great way to be welcomed back to port and the ice cream selection was top notch! read more

Good food, fast service with a fun atmosphere and they are dog friendly. Plenty of dock space to tie a boat up.

We had the best time doing this! With adults and kids ages 19-5 we loved this. The staff is so friendly and helpful we can't wait to come back and do it again next year! read more

This is hands down the coolest place right by the waters. The captain of the pirate ship let us go on the ship and look around and it is really neat, if you ever get the chance to go on a cruise on this I definitely would. The bar is also really neat, they have a great area for bags and hula hoops and outdoor seating. On Friday night, they had a stage with live music. The best part is the ice cream shoppe upstairs! Their pirates booty ice cream is hands down the best ice cream flavor I've ever had. It's a Carmel ice cream with m&m pieces and chucks of cookies!!!! They have a gift shop in the back but it was never open when we were there. But again, a place you MUST stop by for drinks and/or ice cream! read more

My family had an absolute blast on Captain Steve's pirate ship! The lakes are beautiful, the crew so kind and hospitable and the boat was comfortable and full of options for kids to stay entertained. My daughter got snacks, a pirate bandana and two handrawn tattoos - she is already asking when she can go back. The property is beautifully landscaped with a gorgeous lakeview, tons of outdoor seating and lawn activities and a great tiki bar. We didnt stay but apparently there is live music at night as well. Highly recommend with or without kids and would head back just to hang at the tiki bar and hear live music or sail the high seas again with Captain Steve:) read more

We attended a 6:15 tour at Pirate Hideaways last week and had an absolutely incredible time! We have a 3 year old daughter who is absolutely obsessed with pirates right now and although we live in St. Paul, near the Mississippi and St. Croix and many river cruise and paddleboat ride opportunities, this was the closest pirate themed boat ride that I could find in all of my Google searching! We had to drive 4 hours to Eagle River, WI (and 4 hours back!) but this was a magical pirate adventure for our daughter which made the whole trip worth the drive! When we arrived at Pirate Hideaways we were quite early for our cruise.  We got to explore the BEAUTIFUL flower gardens and we found the ice cream shop, immediately.  There were so many flavor options and the half scoop was more than enough for a 3 year old!  The deck overlooking the ship and yard was the perfect place to enjoy our treat and prepare for our ride. We figured out that we had to check in for our boat ride at the gift shop. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful.  We hadn't thought to bring warm clothes as it was a very warm day, but the wind on the lake really made you chilly. We attempted to purchase sweatshirts- they were very nice sweatshirts! Beautiful colors and cool styles! But they didn't have our sizes as many people had bought out their selection!  Instead, the family offered to bring out blankets for us so that we would be comfortable.  It was so nice and we felt so special and taken care of!  The brick fire pizza oven was apparently a fairly new addition to the Pirate Hideaways experience, but I couldn't tell.  Everything ran so smoothly!  We ordered our pizza and then realized that we only had 20 minutes before our boat ride left.   They made sure that our order was ready with plenty of time before our ride and let us take and eat our food on the boat.  I wish I could remember the name of our server, she was so helpful and friendly!  Also, the pizza was delicious! They had a honey glaze that was *chef's kiss.*  My husband said that if he lived closer he would go just for the pizza!  (High praise as he is highly critical and quite curmudgeonly.) Under the deck where we originally set up shop, we discovered that there was live music and a bar as well as pizza and hot dogs available for purchase.  In this area there was also a stern with a steering wheel for kids (and adults) to take photo ops or just pretend to be a pirate!  Our daughter enjoyed waiting for her food as she pretended to steer the pirate ship and yell "Ahoy! Mateys!"  Tables and chairs were set up outside, people were playing bags, kids were hula hooping with the various hula hoops that were available. It was like a giant family reunion at the lake.   That was my most unexpected noticing: everyone there seemed to know each other, or at least Captain Steve-O, and it was like hanging out at a block party or being with family. Such a great environment!  We didn't know anyone there when we arrived but felt welcomed and like part of the family when we left! As for the actual boat ride, I was told it was just "a scenic boat tour," but it was incredible!  We saw lots of wildlife, the setting sun was a spectacular backdrop, and the Eagle River chain of lakes is absolutely GORGEOUS!  We were given a choice of several different bandana styles and taught how to wear our bandanas like a pirate!  We were also given popcorn and drinks for our ride.  Captain Steve and Captain Steve-O were enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and kind.  They were great with our shy child.  Captain Steve-O invited her to drive the pirate ship and encouraged her and praised her so kindly and gently! Today I asked her who her favorite pirate is and she told me "Captain Steve-O because he the best pirate."  She has also asked to go back to our pirate adventure at least three times over the course of this week. We will definitely be back and we will be enjoying a longer visit in Eagle River.  We were encouraged to check out Kartway, just down the road from Pirates Hideaway.  I have already recommended this adventure to several families with young children! Thank you for such a wonderful experience! COVID note:  As a family with a young child and adults at high risk for COVID, we've been extremely cautious and picky about the activities we participate in.   This was an outdoor space and families were able to stay well distanced from each other even on the boat ride!  We also saw Captain Steve wiping down tables and keeping the space disinfected.  I don't know what the masking policy will be in the future.  We went before the delta variant positivity rate started to rise and no one wore masks, but for those who may have concerns, I would consider this a fairly low risk experience. read more

We always have an amazing time when we go here!!! Captain Steve and his family are seriously the nicest people!

We were in Eagle River last week. Made a last minute reservation for the Pirate Ship. Unfortunately, when we arrived we realized I had made the reservation for the wrong week. We were with an almost 2yr. old, a 5 yr old, a 5 month old and 8 adults! Stevo was incredibly nice, so friendly and smiled the entire time and said "Let me check with Captain and see what I can do"! He and the captain were amazing!!! They got us on the ship!! Everyone was so happy and they saved me from my huge mistake!!! The kids got to sit on the Captains lap and "steer" the ship! Jamie was wonderful!!! She provided lemonade and popcorn and chatted with EVERYONE on the ship! It was a beautiful cruise and the kids loved it!!! Thank you for your kindness and outstanding service Stevo, Captain Steve and Jamie!!! read more

I can't say enough about how great Pirate's Hideaway is for people of all ages! We have seen them grow, over years of vacationing in Eagle River at the family cabin, and each summer they get even better! Covid has set many businesses back, but these pirates have grown even more amazing! Now they have a real wood burning pizza oven and have mastered cooking some of the best pizza I've ever had! They even make their own crust from scratch. Plus, they have a bar for the adults and ice cream for the kids! Truly can't get better than that! I recommend visiting the pirates if you're ever in the northwoods! read more

Great place. Father and son converted a small resort into a pirate tiki bar and boat trip. Nice decor throughout the property. The area near the water had plenty of seating, games, hula hoops and other things for kids and adults to play with. You can drive up to the place or sail up in your boat. The bar area is open and beautiful and they offer a variety of drinks. We went on the pirate ship cruise. The owner said it was a houseboat turned pirate ship. He and his son explained about the lakes we were on, pointed out eagle nests and wildlife and waved at everyone going by. Very pleasurable cruise. We learned a lot about the area. They did a bunch of "piratey" jokes and gestures and even did sharpie tattoos for all the kids on board. Popcorn, water and lemonade were available for all on the boat. There is a gift shop on the property as well. It was well worth the fee. I recommend this place and the cruise. read more

We ended up going to this place by making a google search for ice cream. We pulled in and it looked a little run down, but hey sometimes those are the best places. Sure enough, you walk down a path on a hill down to a beautiful tiki bar on a lake. Absolutely breathtaking from the initial appearance. They also offer pirate ship rides; we weren't able to get on due to the holiday (4th of July), but we will most definitely be back next year with a spot booked to sail. Very neat place. Also, be sure to talk to Steve-O and his dad, they are very pleasant people with great attitudes! My kids loved them both! The bar doesn't have a liquor license but don't be fooled, they make drinks using liquor flavored wine and you absolutely wouldn't know the difference! If you're ever in Eagle River stop out you will not be disappointed! read more

It was a fun trip and the kid and adults liked it. A unique and interesting way to see the lakes. The kids like the handmade tattoos. I was a little underwhelmed by the condition of the boat, but still had fun. Based on what the website said, I thought the kids would get eyepatches and hats with the pirate package, but instead they only got fake tattoos,( so, a Little disappointed there with the value for the pirate package) but would still get the regular tickets. read more
