Thank you for your response. -------------- Super rude server - Nina. We were told we could not mix and match tacos even though one of our three menus said you could as well as the display menu at the entrance of the restaurant (picture). However, we were told we could order one taco a la cart to try them. Thus, we ordered a chorizo taco which clearly says on the menu (picture attached) comes with beans on it. When it arrived there were no beans - when we asked why there were no beans she aggressively said it doesn't come with it - grabbed a menu to say "I told you so" just to see it says beans then explained that a la cart doesn't... as you can see in the picture - plate tacos come with a side of rice and beans, but the actual chorizo taco is supposed to have them ON it + sides if you order that. After arguing - she begrudgingly offered to get the beans but after being treated this way we said no thank you for a response of, "well then what was the point sweetie?" Honestly super rude and off putting. This was after several other issues - her tone and "sweetie" sealed the deal: Won't be back. read more

Promptly greeted and seated. The best way to start the experience at Tqlas. We did the full boat experience again with cocktails, appetizers and entrees plus dessert. Cocktails & Mocktails - Tequila flight is a must if that's your poison. Going the Sans Booze fought- snag the aqua Fresca for the light and airy beverage boost. Apps- we did the elote / grilled corn, plenty for probably 3-4 but with 2 of us it was plenty and so tasty! Plus it presents well with the little char marks... so perfect. Entrees - Made the choice for the Jicama and Mango salad plus the chicken flautas. The salad was very refreshing and crispy. Flautas always my fav. Dessert- try the award winning flan. Show stopping! So, new ownership; but it's a good thing! Dinner service for us was a couple hours on a packed night. We made the best of it. It's hard to be upset with such a nice team! Zayd and the staff made us feel like family. With so much riding on the success for the new owners; be a nice customer. For lunch: everything on the HAPPY HOUR menu. Dinner: Best enchiladas I've ever had! (Sorry mom) Service: the service is too tier. Everyone is very attentive & on point! The food was good and they serve generous portions. The service was exceptional. The location is among other restaurants and it stands out with it's unique decor. The salmon was undercooked so the manager intervened and acted quickly to make things right by replacing the meal and adding a free desert. This place is run very well. We have come to this place twice now and we are very satisfied for the most part. The main part of our entrees are always good but the rice and beans are not good at all to us or the friends we've brought as well. Actually both times we've come the beans have been cold for some reason. While the rice is kind of dry and not so flavorful. But the wings are incredible, and we love their avocado fries as well. Service has been good so far but both times we have heard the stuff right next to us cussing left and right and talking about their personal lives out loud with each other where we can hear every word. I would say this was just ok but the bartenders were nice. The thing that was hard was my wife and I came before Stagecoach and everything was really, really slow getting going. We had to flag down someone for menus, ask for chips and then also for salsa. The drinks weren't bad. Their bartender was cool and comped us a Cazuela TLAQUEPaque and it wasn't bad. I wouldn't have ordered it otherwise. For food, we went small plates. The Flautas Coyoacan and the Queso Fundido were basic. The queso wasn't that warm to begin with so it hardened rather quickly. When it came time to get the bill, they charged our card to another person's bill which is just being lazy and not focused which there really was no reason for because the bar had less than 10 people in it. That caused us a delay. They apologized and then I had to ask for a receipt to show they reversed the charge. I just feel like from an operational standpoint, it needs work and the points of service were lacking. read more

What an amazing experience! My husband and I sat at the bar and Robert was our bar tender/server. Robert was very friendly and great to talk with. He made us some great mezcal margaritas! For dinner we had been debating about what to get. Zayd (the owner) gave some great suggestions. He was also very engaging and fun to chat with and made us excited to come back in the future. We even got to talk with the chef who was some very exciting additions coming to the menu! Can't wait to come back and try. When it came time to order we got the molcajete trio. That dish was very flavorful! My husband and I split because it was lot of food. I love Mole & it's rare to find tacos as an option. Smokey, sweet & just enough spice ! Chips were seasoned & a bit salty , the guacamole was adequate/ maybe a bit underwhelming for $13. Went to TQLAS last night and it was absolutely incredible. The service was top notch! From the walk into the restaurant to our departure we were met with smiling faces the entire time. Came here for a Saturday night bachelorette dinner. We had drinks and dinner and shared a dessert. We were a party of 8 and we were seated right away. Our server was attentive and quick. I ordered a ketel one dirty martini, which was $9 for the martini, plus $2 for the vodka upgrade. The chips and salsa were not free, $5 per order, which for it being a Mexican food restaurant is kinda disappointing that you have to pay. If they are going to charge, charge for all baskets after the first. The charged an extra $2 for a virgin margarita...that's really ridiculous! The elotes were worth the $9.95. The chicken enchiladas, I ordered one red and one green, were tasty, but I preferred the red sauce over the green. The rice was dry, but the beans were good. Overall, the group said that food was just okay, not great, but I guess it's to be expected for the area. I did not have the dessert as I am not a churro fan, but they said it was good (can't go wrong with vanilla ice cream and churros). read more

We LOVE the SERVICE, DRINKS & DECOR here! We have been twice, sat inside and our waiter was fantastic! Went above & beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Other servers even came to our table to make sure everything was good, gave stickers to our little one so Jake relax, we felt the service was 5 star +!!! In addition to excellent service, we were lucky enough to meet the manager, Ashley, who is very friendly and hospitable :) The location here is great...in old town, La Quinta. They have inside and outside dining though I really do like the inside because of the decor. Their Cadillac margaritas are outstanding and well poured ;) The chips and salsa are good, but their avocado fries are to die for so I highly suggest getting those!!! I've ordered fajitas both times and they are very good though my husband says the short rib tacos are the BEST EVER!!! Last, if you save room for dessert, their mud pie and churros are out of sight delicious!!! We will def go back :) read more

Had a weird experience at TQLAS today. It started off ok with them getting us seated quickly and everyone being very welcoming and friendly. Once we sat down, a server greeted us and sent waters, chips and salsa to our table. A few minutes later, someone else stopped by to ask about apps and drinks. We put an appetizer order in then drinks. As he's taking our drink order, the first waitress came over and started fighting with him about how this was her table. It was super awkward and we were all very uncomfortable. We then ordered drinks with her, which most came out pretty good. The sandia margarita was tasty but the table didn't like the spicy margaritas. We got our apps of guacamole and wings. The guacamole was ok, nothing special, but one person at our table bit into a wing which was literally still frozen in the middle. After that, we didn't see our waitress as often as before and had to flag her down to take our order. The food was all pretty good. We liked the tacos--fish, chicken tikka masala and barbacoa. They cleared the plates but then it took a while to get the check and have her come back to grab it. We saw her chatting with people at the bar so ended up taking it up to them. Overall, food was pretty good, I'd say 4/5 but the service left a lot to be desired, 2/5. read more

We just went there for drinks and chips and it was a very nice experience. The wait staff was very friendly. I think they kinda wanted us to order food but we just wanted something to drink. They were fine with us bringing our dog into the patio area. The only problem was the singer on the patio who, God bless him, was a little annoying and not singing on key. I knew we were in trouble when we arrived to be told that even though we had a reservation for a patio table, the only table they had was this crummy one behind a wall that feels like an afterthought. Like some efficiency expert walked through and said "oh, you can squeeze one more table in here." They bring us water in plastic cups like we are children who can't be trusted. We're literally the only table that does not have real glasses, candles and salt and pepper shakers. We were not offered their often mentioned and advertised chips and salsa. Our server was attentive. None of my issues were with them. We order drinks and are told we can't have blended margaritas because they only have one blender and the bartender is too busy. What? What legit Mexican restaurant only has one blender? The AirBnB we are staying in has more blenders than this restaurant. We order food. They have an extensive menu, so props for that. We want to try a few selections of different tacos, but no, you can't mix and match and also the one I want to try they can't make. The guacamole was ok, but the portion and ratio of chips to guacamole was off. My two tacos were good. The black beans had a nice smoky flavor. That's really the nicest thing I can say about this experience. read more

This food was phenomenal! My husband played a round of golf on the morning, and I was starving by the time we got done. I searched for lunch options around us, and TQLAS popped up. I decided on here because I'm a Texas girl who really wanted chips and salsa. I'm so glad this is where we chose. My husband had the two taco plate with a tikka masalla and Al pastor.
