Gave some good suggestions for drinks ! Beans and rice were great! Chips and salsa were great too. I would say this was just ok but the bartenders were nice. The thing that was hard was my wife and I came before Stagecoach and everything was really, really slow getting going. We had to flag down someone for menus, ask for chips and then also for salsa. The drinks weren't bad. Their bartender was cool and comped us a Cazuela TLAQUEPaque and it wasn't bad. I wouldn't have ordered it otherwise. For food, we went small plates. The Flautas Coyoacan and the Queso Fundido were basic. The queso wasn't that warm to begin with so it hardened rather quickly. When it came time to get the bill, they charged our card to another person's bill which is just being lazy and not focused which there really was no reason for because the bar had less than 10 people in it. That caused us a delay. They apologized and then I had to ask for a receipt to show they reversed the charge. I just feel like from an operational standpoint, it needs work and the points of service were lacking. read more

I have been a Coachella valley local all my life. About 3 years ago I moved into the La Quinta cove & recently just discovered TQLAS. Since my discovery they have become my go to for breakfast, lunch & dinner anytime I'm out with my family! Food: is easily 10/10. For breakfast: the chilaquiles are IT! For lunch: everything on the HAPPY HOUR menu. Dinner: Best enchiladas I've ever had! (Sorry mom) Service: the service is too tier. Everyone is very attentive & on point! Shout out the chiefs, servers & the WHOLE TEAM! Special shout out Angel and Kenny! Everyone here is doing a tremendous job! Came here for a Saturday night bachelorette dinner. We had drinks and dinner and shared a dessert. We were a party of 8 and we were seated right away. Our server was attentive and quick. I ordered a ketel one dirty martini, which was $9 for the martini, plus $2 for the vodka upgrade. The chips and salsa were not free, $5 per order, which for it being a Mexican food restaurant is kinda disappointing that you have to pay. If they are going to charge, charge for all baskets after the first. The charged an extra $2 for a virgin margarita...that's really ridiculous! The elotes were worth the $9.95. The chicken enchiladas, I ordered one red and one green, were tasty, but I preferred the red sauce over the green. The rice was dry, but the beans were good. Overall, the group said that food was just okay, not great, but I guess it's to be expected for the area. I did not have the dessert as I am not a churro fan, but they said it was good (can't go wrong with vanilla ice cream and churros). read more

The food was good and they serve generous portions. The service was exceptional. The location is among other restaurants and it stands out with it's unique decor. The salmon was undercooked so the manager intervened and acted quickly to make things right by replacing the meal and adding a free desert. This place is run very well. We have come to this place twice now and we are very satisfied for the most part. The main part of our entrees are always good but the rice and beans are not good at all to us or the friends we've brought as well. Actually both times we've come the beans have been cold for some reason. While the rice is kind of dry and not so flavorful. But the wings are incredible, and we love their avocado fries as well. Service has been good so far but both times we have heard the stuff right next to us cussing left and right and talking about their personal lives out loud with each other where we can hear every word. Went to TQLAS last night and it was absolutely incredible. The service was top notch! From the walk into the restaurant to our departure we were met with smiling faces the entire time. What an amazing experience! My husband and I sat at the bar and Robert was our bar tender/server. Robert was very friendly and great to talk with. He made us some great mezcal margaritas! For dinner we had been debating about what to get. Zayd (the owner) gave some great suggestions. He was also very engaging and fun to chat with and made us excited to come back in the future. We even got to talk with the chef who was some very exciting additions coming to the menu! Can't wait to come back and try. When it came time to order we got the molcajete trio. That dish was very flavorful! My husband and I split because it was lot of food. They have inside and outside dining though I really do like the inside because of the decor. Their Cadillac margaritas are outstanding and well poured ;) The chips and salsa are good, but their avocado fries are to die for so I highly suggest getting those!!! I've ordered fajitas both times and they are very good though my husband says the short rib tacos are the BEST EVER!!! TQLAS is located in the La Quinta Village where there are several other restaurants. As businesses started to open up (again), the village has become packed. After checking in with our "go to" spot for lunch, we discovered the wait was really long. We had seen TQLAS before, and the setting was very appealing. We checked in and discovered the wait at TQLAS was more reasonable. After a short wait, we were seated and took a look at the happy hour menu, which was from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We ordered a beer and margarita, both were good. For lunch, we ordered the Street Corn (one cob is included in the happy hour for $3.95), Tacos Alambre, and the Flautas Coyoacan. The street corn was amazing, the beef in the Tacos Alambre was a little fatty but the mixed vegetables were very good, and the Flautas were good. The following day, our friends joined us in the desert and wanted to try TQLAS for lunch, which was outside the happy hour period. On this day, I had the Street Corn and Shrimp Tacos. The Street Corn came with two cobs and again was amazing but pricey at $9.95. Our group actually had three orders of the Street Corn, which was a total of just under $30.00 just for 6 cobs of corn. I noticed later the website indicates "a trio" of sweet corn, but our orders as noted above came with 2. I also ordered the Shrimp Tacos, which were average. Regarding the staff, they were excellent. The food and prices for what you get received 3 stars, and the setting and staff received 5 stars. Although the Street Corn was really good, the price is only right during happy hour. read more

I knew we were in trouble when we arrived to be told that even though we had a reservation for a patio table, the only table they had was this crummy one behind a wall that feels like an afterthought. Like some efficiency expert walked through and said "oh, you can squeeze one more table in here." They bring us water in plastic cups like we are children who can't be trusted. We're literally the only table that does not have real glasses, candles and salt and pepper shakers. We were not offered their often mentioned and advertised chips and salsa. Our server was attentive. None of my issues were with them. We order drinks and are told we can't have blended margaritas because they only have one blender and the bartender is too busy. What? What legit Mexican restaurant only has one blender? The AirBnB we are staying in has more blenders than this restaurant. We order food. They have an extensive menu, so props for that. We want to try a few selections of different tacos, but no, you can't mix and match and also the one I want to try they can't make. The guacamole was ok, but the portion and ratio of chips to guacamole was off. My two tacos were good. The black beans had a nice smoky flavor.
