First time in La Quinta. So nice low key place. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant. We were greeted by smiling face and seated right away for lunch. Great hot! And amazing waiter! Gave some good suggestions for drinks ! Beans and rice were great! Chips and salsa were great too. I had poke tacos I thought that they would be on a hard shell or a wonton shell but it was like a soft corn tortilla. I should have read more . It was not what I expected and it was not fresh! My friend had hard shell tacos and was very pleased . Over all would go back but I will order something else. But a must try especially for the drinks yummy read more

We had a great time here! The happy hour specials are amazing and the food all tastes delicious. Our waitress Nubia took great care of us and went above and beyond making sure we had an excellent experience. The indoor and outdoor seating are both great options and it's a very festive setting for happy hour, lunch or dinner! read more

Here again, the reviews are mixed. It's a fun environment with terrific service compliments of Victoria. The menu is pretty good and the food's even better. I had their special grande shrimp tacos and I'd say they were the best I've ever eaten.! My friend is still raving about their enchiladas. Situated in lively Old Town LaQuinta, it's apparently the place to be weekends and after the snow birds leave. read more

super yummy mx restaurant located in old town LQ! A bit of a drive for me as I live in palm springs but sooo worth it! The appetizers and drinks were the highlight of the meal- and service was awesome! Will definitely be back! read more

Craving Mexican food we stopped here and had a great lunch. Carnitas, Carne Asada and cheesesteak tacos. The dessert- churros Over all pretty good. The only things that could approve was the service. Slow food delivery and drinks didn't get refilled much. read more

We had a great group meal at Tqlas. From the start, the manager was so helpful and quick to respond to my request for a large table. The service and food were great, and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend. read more

Incredible food, even better margaritas. I sound like I'm embellishing at this point, but the salsa is insane. All of this combined with Isaac's great service. Go and enjoy yourself. read more

I would say this was just ok but the bartenders were nice. The thing that was hard was my wife and I came before Stagecoach and everything was really, really slow getting going. We had to flag down someone for menus, ask for chips and then also for salsa. The drinks weren't bad. Their bartender was cool and comped us a Cazuela TLAQUEPaque and it wasn't bad. I wouldn't have ordered it otherwise. For food, we went small plates. The Flautas Coyoacan and the Queso Fundido were basic. The queso wasn't that warm to begin with so it hardened rather quickly. When it came time to get the bill, they charged our card to another person's bill which is just being lazy and not focused which there really was no reason for because the bar had less than 10 people in it. That caused us a delay. They apologized and then I had to ask for a receipt to show they reversed the charge. I just feel like from an operational standpoint, it needs work and the points of service were lacking. read more

Came here for a Saturday night bachelorette dinner. We had drinks and dinner and shared a dessert. We were a party of 8 and we were seated right away. Our server was attentive and quick. I ordered a ketel one dirty martini, which was $9 for the martini, plus $2 for the vodka upgrade. The chips and salsa were not free, $5 per order, which for it being a Mexican food restaurant is kinda disappointing that you have to pay. If they are going to charge, charge for all baskets after the first. The charged an extra $2 for a virgin margarita...that's really ridiculous! The elotes were worth the $9.95. The chicken enchiladas, I ordered one red and one green, were tasty, but I preferred the red sauce over the green. The rice was dry, but the beans were good. Overall, the group said that food was just okay, not great, but I guess it's to be expected for the area. I did not have the dessert as I am not a churro fan, but they said it was good (can't go wrong with vanilla ice cream and churros). read more

We just finished two rounds of golf. Hungry and tired we tried going to a brewery nearby and the menu was not it so we found this place and walked in. Friendly bartender helped us out and we had a great dinner and the food and beers hit the spot. Chips and guac, steak molcajete, wet burrito, fish tacos, everyone was satisfied. read more

Such great ambiance & service. We happened on TQLAS on a Sunday during Happy Hour... Omar was amazing behind the bar- Service =5 The Mole Chicken Tacos are ! I love Mole & it's rare to find tacos as an option. Smokey, sweet & just enough spice ! Chips were seasoned & a bit salty , the guacamole was adequate/ maybe a bit underwhelming for $13. Huge selection of Tequila & adequate options for Mexican beer, and other spirits of choice! Seems to be a local favorite & I highly recommend this place! read more

I have been a Coachella valley local all my life. About 3 years ago I moved into the La Quinta cove & recently just discovered TQLAS. Since my discovery they have become my go to for breakfast, lunch & dinner anytime I'm out with my family! Food: is easily 10/10. For breakfast: the chilaquiles are IT! For lunch: everything on the HAPPY HOUR menu. Dinner: Best enchiladas I've ever had! (Sorry mom) Service: the service is too tier. Everyone is very attentive & on point! Shout out the chiefs, servers & the WHOLE TEAM! Special shout out Angel and Kenny! Everyone here is doing a tremendous job! Ambiance: as you step inside the first thing you'll notice is the cool Spanish tile & cool authentic hand crafted Mexican chair out in the patio. However is behind the music is a wizard because they know exactly what to play. Shout out TQLAS! read more

Went to TQLAS last night and it was absolutely incredible. The service was top notch! From the walk into the restaurant to our departure we were met with smiling faces the entire time. Margaritas are big & good, their chips are incredible & my favorite, carnitas was perfect! My fav part is they are going to start offering champagne brunch. Cannot wait to give it a try! Well be back, ASAP! read more

What an amazing experience! My husband and I sat at the bar and Robert was our bar tender/server. Robert was very friendly and great to talk with. He made us some great mezcal margaritas! For dinner we had been debating about what to get. Zayd (the owner) gave some great suggestions. He was also very engaging and fun to chat with and made us excited to come back in the future. We even got to talk with the chef who was some very exciting additions coming to the menu! Can't wait to come back and try. When it came time to order we got the molcajete trio. That dish was very flavorful! My husband and I split because it was lot of food. The flavors were excellent and I highly recommend We also had the churro donut with ice cream which was excellent Overall great experience with great service! read more

We LOVE the SERVICE, DRINKS & DECOR here! We have been twice, sat inside and our waiter was fantastic! Went above & beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Other servers even came to our table to make sure everything was good, gave stickers to our little one so Jake relax, we felt the service was 5 star +!!! In addition to excellent service, we were lucky enough to meet the manager, Ashley, who is very friendly and hospitable :) The location here is great...in old town, La Quinta. They have inside and outside dining though I really do like the inside because of the decor. Their Cadillac margaritas are outstanding and well poured ;) The chips and salsa are good, but their avocado fries are to die for so I highly suggest getting those!!! I've ordered fajitas both times and they are very good though my husband says the short rib tacos are the BEST EVER!!! Last, if you save room for dessert, their mud pie and churros are out of sight delicious!!! We will def go back :) read more

We decided to stop by here for a late lunch and were not disappointed! My boyfriend and I were in the area on vacation and were craving some drinks and good food. The food here was pretty great and definitely exceeded my expectations. The main reason I wanted to leave this review was for the amazing service. Our bartender Robert was absolutely amazing and such a vibe! The cazuela he made for us was so good and we enjoyed the other recommendations he made as well! Robert's service was stellar and he went out of his way to make us feel like friends rather than just another client. Thank you Robert and to the rest of the staff for such a memorable visit! We Weill definitely return when we are in the area again! read more

The food was good and they serve generous portions. The service was exceptional. The location is among other restaurants and it stands out with it's unique decor. The salmon was undercooked so the manager intervened and acted quickly to make things right by replacing the meal and adding a free desert. This place is run very well. The place a little on the pricey side but worth it and I will return. read more

We have come to this place twice now and we are very satisfied for the most part. The main part of our entrees are always good but the rice and beans are not good at all to us or the friends we've brought as well. Actually both times we've come the beans have been cold for some reason. While the rice is kind of dry and not so flavorful. But the wings are incredible, and we love their avocado fries as well. Service has been good so far but both times we have heard the stuff right next to us cussing left and right and talking about their personal lives out loud with each other where we can hear every word. Once was outside on the patio and the other time was inside. read more

We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past but not last night. Ordered margaritas. The glass was overflowing with ice so consequently i only had 4 sips of the margarita and it was gone. Ordered chicken enchiladas mole and there was more tortilla than chicken.the beans were cold as if they came directly from the can. My husband ordered steak fahitas. The steak was beyond tough. Dont think we are going back read more

TQLAS is located in the La Quinta Village where there are several other restaurants. As businesses started to open up (again), the village has become packed. After checking in with our "go to" spot for lunch, we discovered the wait was really long. We had seen TQLAS before, and the setting was very appealing. We checked in and discovered the wait at TQLAS was more reasonable. After a short wait, we were seated and took a look at the happy hour menu, which was from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We ordered a beer and margarita, both were good. For lunch, we ordered the Street Corn (one cob is included in the happy hour for $3.95), Tacos Alambre, and the Flautas Coyoacan. The street corn was amazing, the beef in the Tacos Alambre was a little fatty but the mixed vegetables were very good, and the Flautas were good. The following day, our friends joined us in the desert and wanted to try TQLAS for lunch, which was outside the happy hour period. On this day, I had the Street Corn and Shrimp Tacos. The Street Corn came with two cobs and again was amazing but pricey at $9.95. Our group actually had three orders of the Street Corn, which was a total of just under $30.00 just for 6 cobs of corn. I noticed later the website indicates "a trio" of sweet corn, but our orders as noted above came with 2. I also ordered the Shrimp Tacos, which were average. Regarding the staff, they were excellent. The food and prices for what you get received 3 stars, and the setting and staff received 5 stars. Although the Street Corn was really good, the price is only right during happy hour. read more

Great staff and delicious food - go for the fajitas and the margaritas. Highly recommend.

Initially we tried to visit this restaurant on a Monday but were suprised to see that their summer hours meant they were closed on Mondays. Shame on Yelp for not having the updated hours listed. We didn't let that deter us! We came back the following day for Happy Hour at the bar and it didn't disappoint. The $5 Margaritas were delicious and we loved the elote (Mexican street corn). read more

Great flavors and dishes creativity, but the tiny Tapas portions are not worth coming back for. The service is attentive and prompt. Patio seating was pleasant and inviting. I knew we were in trouble when we arrived to be told that even though we had a reservation for a patio table, the only table they had was this crummy one behind a wall that feels like an afterthought. Like some efficiency expert walked through and said "oh, you can squeeze one more table in here." They bring us water in plastic cups like we are children who can't be trusted. We're literally the only table that does not have real glasses, candles and salt and pepper shakers. We were not offered their often mentioned and advertised chips and salsa. Our server was attentive. None of my issues were with them. We order drinks and are told we can't have blended margaritas because they only have one blender and the bartender is too busy. What? What legit Mexican restaurant only has one blender? The AirBnB we are staying in has more blenders than this restaurant. We order food. They have an extensive menu, so props for that. We want to try a few selections of different tacos, but no, you can't mix and match and also the one I want to try they can't make. The guacamole was ok, but the portion and ratio of chips to guacamole was off. My two tacos were good. The black beans had a nice smoky flavor. That's really the nicest thing I can say about this experience. read more

This food was phenomenal! My husband played a round of golf on the morning, and I was starving by the time we got done. I searched for lunch options around us, and TQLAS popped up. I decided on here because I'm a Texas girl who really wanted chips and salsa. I'm so glad this is where we chose. My husband had the two taco plate with a tikka masalla and Al pastor. Both were delicious! I got the flautas, and they were perfect! Crispy, delicious, and full of chicken. Oscar was a fabulous server! I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

There truly is nothing "ordinary " about this beautiful restaurant, located in Old Town La Quinta. From the moment you walk in, you're instantly living the "vacay vibe"....whether you're a local or actual ON vacay. The service is always so dang friendly, warm, and knowledgeable....regardless if you're in for a chill Sunday Brunch after the farmers market or you're out with your tribe on a festive Friday night. What I love most, though, that sets them apart....the creativity from the culinary and bartending team. They are so fun, love trying new dishes or libations, and are the best at suggesting things to get you outta your comfort zone. With several Mexican restaurants within a few blocks offering the same okd vombo plates, TQLAS has proven they are a notch above, elevating your dining experience. Oh, and.... Chef Wives Club "off menu" suggestion.... Get the Chicken Mole Tacos with shredded chicken.....and shhhhhhh.....order the crinkle fries with Chef Juan's infamous HOT sauce to dip them in. Finish off with a Rum-Chata Boozy Shake with a dark rum "floater" on top. Perfection! Tell them Chef Wives Club sent you. read more

We called before going and were told they were not taking reservations so we should come and put our name on the waitlist. We reached there and were told that they'll have a table ready for us in 30-40 minutes so we put our name in the list and went for a walk.
