This was a perfect spot to grab some really delicious treats this morning! I went in some 9:30am on a weekday, which was not busy at all. I was afraid all the pastries would be picked over and I would not have a good selection, but to my surprise, I picked several winners! I honestly cannot remember the names of all the pastries, but it's a self serve setup with tongs,bags, and wax paper for customers to grab upon entry. The place has great windows and natural light btw, if you want to sit and enjoy your treat solo or with a friend! I remember the yuzu pastry.... oh my. If you like you and crisp crunch, you must buy that pastry. I also ordered and thoroughly enjoyed an ube latte. I got mine w 1.5 pumps off the syrup so it wouldn't be overly sweet. I feel like sometimes ube can be added with too much sugar and then it just tastes awful to me. I was very pleased with the ratio since the normal amount is 2 full pumps. I got the mango cloud cake, which visually was very pretty but also the taste was good! The rich, fluffy cream layers were balanced by the acidity of the mango cream that stimulates the senses. I was disappointed that the service was not good. I chose a slice of pizza and a latte and I feel I should have been offered a plate and to warm up the pizza. When I asked if she could heat it, she directed me to a self serve tiny toaster oven. Seriously? I had to stand there waiting to heat it and finally I just took it out so I could sit and enjoy my lunch date with a friend. I have no idea how long it would have taken to heat up. A professional heater could have toasted it in 2 min I suspect. I asked for a plate and she gave me a dessert plate that would fit a cupcake. Pretty dissatisfied for a local bakery. How am I just finding this now? I love it! So many cute pastries, you can pick up tongs and a bag and grab whatever you want and then order coffee at the register. It's so cute and has a ton of Korean / French pastries! The only difficult thing is remembering what you put in your bag to tell the person checking you out. THE CUTEST FUSION BAKERY EVER!!! My parents, my husband and I were strolling in Chinatown Square and came across Tous Les Jours. I am not a huge fan of matcha or ube but I thought it was really cool how there were so many cool French pastries that incorporated those ingredients! I actually ended up getting a piece of their chocolate cake with strawberries to take home and it was HEAVEN! I wish we would have gotten more to bring back! It was also super impressive how they made coffee, as they grinded their own beans literally for every cup (see attached photo). I wouldn't recommend getting a matcha latte from here EVER. They use a faux matcha powder essentially like 70% sugar and 30% matcha.. really cheap stuff. And then charge like $8 for it and it literally just tastes like sweet milk. Gross. Also, they price things differently in the cases than what they actually charge. I went to buy a cloud cake slice for $8, it ran up as $9.25. I told the cashier, she just said they forgot to change it. Really bad practice to not honor prices displayed literally right in front of the register. The pastries are good and fairly priced, but charging $10.25 with tax for a a tiny slice of cake is obnoxious and greedy. Would give zero stars if the pastries and baked goods weren't so yummy. read more

Didn't realize that this bakery is a nationwide chain until I stepped inside thinking "wait a minute this is the same tongs-and-tray bakery format like 85 Degrees Bakery Cafe and Paris Baguette" and then later browsing the business website lol. Was looking for strictly Chicago-based bakeries but, still, I'm glad that I checked out this spot. In fact, I ended up actually preferring this bakery chain to the other two. The spotlight is the bread base used in this bakery. Milky and pillow-fluffy! The taro cream bread was one of my favorites that I tried; it reminded me a lot like Filipino pan de ube but instead of ube halaya as the filling it's light taro cream. The milk cream bread was pretty similar except more neutral in taste (cream custard); a must-try here. The yuzu pie was super delicious with its citrus filling and crispy puff pastry. The cream butter scone was a bit too crumbly but it still had a nice butter taste to it; it was like eating a weirdly-shaped shortbread lol. Wasn't a fan of the twin egg bread; too much mayo. I read about this French-Asian bakery chain before visiting Chicago and Nate and I stopped in for a treat while in Wicker Park. It was similar to another bakery chain we visited in NYC where you take a bag and fill it up. The pastry cases were full of beautiful cakes and sweet treats! It was tough to decide what to get with all the options. The sweet choices outnumbered the savory items, which normally I wouldn't like but we were in the mood for something sweeter anyway. We ended up getting a milk cream bread, which had a sign indicating it was a favorite of children, which was kind of funny. It was a pillowy bun filled with some kind of cream filling - honestly the whole thing tasted like nothing to me. It was sweet but other than that it didn't have a distinguishable flavor... "Milk," I guess. I would definitely try other items here in the future but probably skip the milk cream bread next time. Love their kimchi and curry croquettes! Kimchi had good flavor and pastry was nice and crispy. Curry could have more of a kick but still delicious. Just got back from Japan where I fell in love with croquettes from the conbini and these hit the spot (yes I know it's a Korean bakery).
