I have never had so much fun! My sister and I went on the Tours Northwest Mt. Rainier Tour about 3 weeks ago. Our tour guide called the afternoon before to confirm our pick up and answer any questions. The next day started out early at the Urban Coffee House pickup spot where we met, the BEST tour guide, Andreas! Luckily, we were able to grab seats up front as I was worried about potentially getting carsick. I think I would've been fine in the back though, the ride was so smooth the whole way! We made one more stop in SeaTac where we arrived a bit early, but that gave the group some time to use the restrooms! Next stop was a grocery store about an hour away, where we were able to use the restrooms and grab lunches which we could store in the ice chest they provided on the bus. Once we made it to the park we enjoyed several fascinating stops all the while listening to Andreas share many interesting facts. He was extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to learn from! Unfortunately, the restrooms were down at our main park stop but Andreas ensured we had bathroom stops before and after our excursion. At our main stop, I was able to fit a 50 min hike in as well as some browsing time and a short walk down another trail. I chose to eat my lunch on the bus so I could squeeze it all in! I felt like we saw so many great aspects of the park and I was so excited to explore at each stop. Besides the longer treks between Downtown Seattle and the National Park, I feel like we stopped 1-2 times per hour to see something new. Andreas provided lots of great facts and gave us plenty of freedom to explore. He also offered to take pictures of anyone who wanted them!! On our way back into town everyone was pretty beat, Andreas still communicated with us on where we would be stopping next as well as offering FABULOUS insights into Seattle itself and what to do next as a tourist, as well as great local eats. Absolutely recommended especially if you have a long list of things to see. In one day, I got to experience a large portion of must see in Seattle. Apart from the get togethers with friends in Washington---this was one of my highlights! Hiked a moderate hike---frozen lake, got to stop on picturesque spots to and from every destination! And shout out to our tour guide who knows how to navigate and work around the busy roads and on time! She gave us tips on how to make the most of this tour including stopping at a QVC store to get packed lunch as opposed to to the so so pricey meals by the snack area in Mt Rainier. We stopped at the white river area, the split road where we almost saw a bear, we stopped by the mossy forest, and walked around the lake in Mather with the beautiful reflection/mirror of Mt Rainier. Our Mount Rainier tour was absolutely amazing! The bus picked us up right at the Museum of Pop Culture near the Space Needle, which was super convenient. About an hour into the drive we made a quick stop at a grocery store, then continued the journey. I preface this review by saying that I lived in the Seattle area for nearly 25 years and know the city very well. (I moved from Seattle to Canada in 2017, just 7 years ago). But I recently met up with a childhood friend for the day in Seattle, and he had never been to Seattle before, so we both thought it would be a great idea for him to get an overview of the city by taking this 3-hour tour, and for me, too, as the city has changed quite a bit in the past 7 years. As it turned out, it was a GREAT idea to take this tour! We liked the fact that you could choose one of 3 or 4 different pick-up sites in the city; we chose by the Seattle Public Library downtown. Very convenient. The tour is in a comfy mini-bus. The seats were plush (I have a bad back so I worried about the accomodations in the tour bus). And our driver was John, and he was incredible: funny, personable and super knowledgeable about the city and its history. I admit, I didn't really think I'd learn as much about the city as I did, as I've lived here for so long and had been on multiple tours in the past, but as mentioned above, the city had changed a lot, especially in its growth in certain areas (some areas were unrecognizable to me, TBH). And it was cool to see the city through the eyes of a first-time visitor. And even if I was super familiar with the city as it is nowadays, I was relieved not to have the pressure of being a tour guide, and to not deal with the driving and parking everywhere. We went by all the major sites (including Pike Place Market, the Space Needle and the EMP), through Pioneer Square and the waterfront, through Westlake Center, to the Starbucks Reserve and Theo Chocolate flagship stores, through the Fremont neighborhood, over the I-90 floating bridge, to the Ballard Locks and the Ballard Fishermans Memorial and docks, and to Kerry Park. And John was a wealth of information about the history of all these areas and more. There were ample stops to stretch our legs, use washrooms and/or get snacks, for those who worry about such things (like myself!). I recommend this company's tours wholeheartedly. read more

This was a great day trip. Well worth the expense and getting up early. I'm American and grew up in the Northeast US with four seasons. We live in a tropical climate in Asia, and my wife and kids had never experienced snow before. I booked this tour, in large part, for my family to experience snow for their first time. Even though it was 96 degrees at the base and around 85 degrees at Paradise on Mt. Rainier, there was abundant (wet) snow. We were in rubber boots and warm clothes, while many people were in the snow in sneakers, shorts, and t-shirts, with some women in tank tops and even bikini tops. That's how warm it was. My kids got to build a small snowman, have a snowball fight, and frolic in the snow. But this day trip was much more than that. Mt. Rainier National Park is gorgeous, with millions of trees. Ken was an excellent driver and tour guide, who shared much good information about the history of the park, and the flora and fauna. I highly recommend this tour if you have a free day while in the Seattle area. read more

Took the Mt. Rainier tour on a recent weekday. The weather was in our favor with clear skies and temps in the 70's. We were picked up right on time at the designated spot. The bus holds 24, there were 14 in our group. John, our guide, provided a great tour. He's funny and knowledgeable and narrated just enough along the way to keep us interested without being overbearing. Lots of great information about the history of the area, of the mountain and some trivia about surrounding towns. Rather than trying to follow a tourbook on my own, it was nice to just be brought to the key attractions. A few of them were just off the road, without signage, so would never would have known to stop unless I had a guide. The tour timing is right - we spent just enough time at each location to see the sights but not be rushed, or bored. A nice touch is the stop at a supermarket enroute to the mountain so we could pick up lunch and snacks. An even nicer touch is the stop at the ice cream shop on the way back. It's all the about the food, eh? :-) Great communication from Tours Northwest. Booked online and received a confirmation immediately and a followup to clarify pickup point. Seamless and flawless. There is no better tour to take if you are in a big group. We had a large group of 21 with 2 that needed wheelchair assistance. This was a great tour to start our vacation while we were in Seattle a day before our Alaskan cruise. Andres our guide was amazing! He was so personable and great with the adults and 7 kids in our group. He was flexible with the schedule while still kept us on track for our Space Needle ticket time. Was able to see the city while staying dry and not having to walk the steep inclines! Andres was nice enough to drop some of our party off to Pike's Place on our way back to our hotel. We recently took the 3 hour Seattle City Tour with pick up from the Urban Cafe, which was very conveniently located just minutes from our hotel, The Sound Hotel Seattle Belltown Tapestry Collection by Hilton. There were six of us in our group, and as frequent travelers across the US and Europe, we often book city tours to get a sense of the history and layout of the places we visit. This was our first time in Seattle, and we were really looking forward to learning about the city's history and seeing its main sights. Unfortunately, the tour did not meet our expectations. While our guide Jeff was a nice person, the experience felt more like an Uber ride than a guided tour. Other than repeatedly mentioning that many buildings in Seattle are owned by Amazon, there was little to no meaningful or interesting information provided about the city's past or points of interest. We were hoping for stories, historical facts, and unique insights, but those were missing. One of the stops was a glassblowing shop, which honestly felt more like a time filler than a point of interest. It was not very engaging, and most of us found it boring. To make it worse, the guide parked right next to a sign that clearly said "No Parking" and unsurprisingly, he got a parking ticket. It seemed odd and unprofessional, as we would expect a tour company to know the proper places to park. The best stop was the last one, which offered a beautiful view of the city and the Space Needle. Sadly, even there, we received no real historical context or commentary. To make matters worse, a woman sitting behind me was coughing and blowing her nose throughout the entire 3 hour tour. Everyone was uncomfortable and concerned about getting sick. I ended up with a full blown flu the next morning. In such a small and enclosed vehicle, sick passengers should not be allowed to participate for the health and safety of others. In the end, we left this tour with very little knowledge of Seattle and no real interest in exploring more. It is a shame, as we had high hopes. In the future, we will stick with companies like Big Bus Tours, which in our experience provide much more thorough and engaging historical coverage of the cities we visit. read more

We took the Seattle City Premium tour, 3.5 hours in a van with 6 other people, with Steve as our guide. SO easy, chill, and interesting. We covered many areas in Seattle and learned so many fun tidbits of history and information. We really feel like we know the city now. Thanks, Steve! read more

We took a day trip from Seattle to Mount Rainier national Park. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy and rainy day and we never actually saw the mountain because it was all fogged in. But despite this, our guide Ken made it a great day. We stopped and saw a number of waterfalls and old growth forest. He gave us a lot of interesting information. We had stops at a couple of the visitors centers and he allowed enough time to see the displays and shop, but never kept us somewhere so long that we got bored. He was prepared for the weather with umbrellas and he also had walking sticks available if you needed them. I myself did not do many longer walks because I'm dealing with an arthritic knee, but I still had a chance to see quite a bit. And for those who were ready for more, it was available. I really have to hurry up and finish up this review as this was one of the most wonderful experiences of my Seattle trip that I took at the early part of May this year. First, I have to give a huge shout out to Andreas who's in the third picture. He is one of the best regards I've ever had in my life. I absolutely love him and I need to take the tour again so I can double tip him for the tip that I unfortunately was unable to give due to a family and personal emergency. I had to leave the van at the corner Boulevard of my hotel, and did not have time to even do it. But I recommend that anybody who goes on a northwest tour must go on a tour with Andreas as he is truly the best And there's no way to describe his amazing personality. You just have to be in his presence. So I have to be honest about that. I really like Northwest and I'm hoping they have some other tours because I'm coming back to Seattle. I think anything they do is perfect and I will remember my tour forever and I will remember Seattle because of it. If you go to Seattle, make sure to do a northwest tour and go to Mount Rainier. It's an incredible experience and I'm so glad that I did. Below I have left many photos but it's so hard to describe. You really just have to go. We had special time to go do a little hikes on our own that were safe where we would all meet back at the camp and then get back in the bus and takeoff for the next spot. The beautiful little picturesque mountain towns below Mount Rainier are gorgeous. I already live in a real place, but this was like something special that even smells different than where I live, and if I could manage to live in a small mountain towns, I would, but I'm concerned because I'm older now and maybe I could not but it's a thought. Again, I highly recommend Northwest tours, and definitely their Mount Rainier tour. Make sure you go with Andreas! read more

Our guide, Ken, did a super Mr. Rainier tour. Even though the mountain wasn't 'out' Ken thoroughly kept our interest with expert background on all things Mt.Rainier National Park related to its geology, biology and history. He pointed out really beautiful aspects of the park such as gigantic 800 year old Douglas firs, 'nurse' trees, trilliums, waterfalls and vistas. Go with Ken! read more

My tour was back on 9/18/2022. The Tours Northwest is a great overview of all the different Seattle neighborhoods and history. You ride around different sides of Seattle on a bus and listen to interesting facts from history, news, and culture. For example, Native American historical figures and events, Nirvana and Jeffrey Dahmer were some things mentioned during our tour. Our tour guide Avery was hilarious with a great personality and made our introduction to Seattle a great experience! Avery loved talking about his dogs, which made us all laugh. There was an unexpected incident in downtown Seattle that was beyond anyone's control, and Avery handled it like a pro with a great sense of humor and kept it moving. If I ever bring friends new to Seattle, I would definitely book this tour for them. I recommend Tours Northwest! read more

We usually like taking city hop on hop off tours to get an overview of the city when we are traveling. I decided to do this tour for something different. We were staying in Belltown so we had already walked to the market and space needle. Although we liked our guide, I would probably not recommend this tour for the value. It was nice to drive around to different parts of Seattle but we did not enjoy the stops. Random coffee shop and seafood market. The other stop was at a water navigation lock which is nothing special to Seattle. We did like the stop at Kerry Park for the view. read more

During our vacation in Seattle, we did the Mount Rainier tour with this company. This tour turned out better than he had ever expected! Our tour guide was Kevin he did an excellent job providing us details throughout the entire trip. This is a two hour drive out of Seattle to the Mount Rainier National Park. Our transportation for this tomorrow was done via tour bus driven by the tour guide. After the first hour of driving, the tour guide will take you to a shopping plaza with a grocery store to go pick up your lunch for the picnic later on. On the drive up the mountain, we made many stops to go hiking and saw many of the notable sites. It was a lot of fun and incredibly breathtaking. For us, this tour took place on one of the most beautiful weeks of the year weatherwise. As a result, there were many others outside of our tour enjoying this park also. I enjoyed walking through the thousand-year-old portion forest to see those huge trees. After the majority of our hiking trip, it was lunchtime and our lunch stop was at Paradise point. This is host to Paradise Inn, the first camping lodge in the United States that set the tone for all camping lodges. This was the highlight of our trip as it was the most beautiful part to see with an even more beautiful hiking trail and a very clear view of Mount Rainier's apex. I believe lunch was approximately an hour and a half to eat and be able to see as much as you can. Afterwards, we took one more quick stop to take a look at another natural wonder. Then, we were off to Wapiti Woollies ice cream and gift shop. Wapiti Woollies has been known locally in that area to have one of the best homemade ice cream's including, but not limited to their famous huckleberry ice cream. Never having huckleberry ice cream before, I had some and enjoyed it. read more
