My wedding is in April 2026, and I wanted to plan ahead so I wouldn't be rushing once my dress arrives at the end of January. I found Mari online, called her, explained my timeline, and she assured me she could help. She instructed me to book my appointment through her website, which I did. Today, I received a notification that my appointment was cancelled. I called--no answer. I tried to rebook online, but the next available appointments weren't until May 2026, which is months after I need my dress done. So I drove to the address to get clarity. When I arrived, Mari told me her online booking system "has issues" and often double-books appointments, which causes earlier bookings--like mine--to get cancelled. When I asked to rebook, she said to do it online. I explained that the only appointments available were in May, long after my wedding. Her response was essentially that she couldn't fix it, and I would need to find someone else. As a business owner myself, the attitude and lack of accountability were really disappointing. I went to Mari to have my dress hemmed, a bustle added, and to have it taken in quite a bit as I lost weight since purchasing the dress. The prices were reasonable as was the amount of time it would take. Mari was very friendly and professional! Super easy to work with and very lenient on time which i appreciate because it was a bit of a drive for me. However, the problem I had is with the quality of the work done to my dress. There were multiple loose threads that she could have cleaned up to make the dress presentable, the thread on the bustle looks a bit sloppy, and the top button hole loop is coming undone. My dress also had two stains on it that were NOT there before, so now on top of taking it to another alteration place, I will have to have it dry cleaned and my wedding is LESS than two weeks away. This is extremely stressful to me and I'm glad I took another look at the dress instead of noticing this on my wedding day. I had 2 experiences with Mary, the first was for a bridesmaid dress alteration (chiffon material and just a simple hem). She was great and very reasonable, it was a few years ago but less than 100$. I reached out again as I am eloping soon, and have a very similar dress style, it is white this time, but still chiffon material and all I needed was another hem at the front, not touching the train or anything else, simply hemming the front. My dress got delayed (on me I totally get it), but I was upfront and gave Mary my short timeline and asked beforehand if she thought she had time to see me still and she said no problem at all; she could do a hem in a few days. I did not think to ask cost up front as it was a very similar situation to before. I went there, she pinned me and said she can have it ready in 2 days, then has me sign the paper and says it's gonna be 380$.... Trust me- I know the moment it becomes a wedding dress, prices are more expensive...but to charge 380$ for something like this was insane to me. Needless to say - be mindful and ask questions up front about cost and expectations as anyone I talked to said this was taking full advantage of the situation on her part unfortunately. I reached back out to her afterwards as I was pretty upset about the situation still and she claims this was a ball gown dress that was a lot more work, hence the price difference. I've attached photos of the dress - it's not a ball gown. She also at that point threw in how I needed it done quickly, which at no point when I texted her days before my appointment giving her my timeline did she mention it would be a little more $ to rush it, so to me that's just a poor excuse as to why she tried to get away with charging that much for this alteration. read more

I was so nervous about finding someone to do alterations on my wedding dress because it involved cutting a big portion and moving it up in order to save an intricate detailed design while shortening the dress. I was a little bit nervous about getting alterations. I have heard horror stories about alterations ranging from outrageous prices to just poor treatment in general. I did some research on places near my residence and kept coming back to Touch of Class alterations. I used a foreign dress maker and had the dress shipped to me in the states. I was really nervous the dress might be poor quality but it actually turned out really nice, just a bit too big (stupid weight loss! Bummer huh?) I called Mari and told her I needed some alterations done and that my wedding was in a month. She said no problem, she'd be happy to help! I asked if my having a non-traditional gown would be an issue as it wasn't white, champagne, beige, or any other the other light/white traditional colors... my gown is a deep plum. She said that was no problem either. Whew! The first fitting went well and her prices were extremely reasonable. She would have it done in 12 days. Sweet! I had my follow-up appointment today and wow! She did such an awesome job! She did everything I asked and I almost cried when I tried the dress on and it fit perfectly. So pleased with Mari's wedding dress alteration service! She is very friendly and accommodating and did a great job on the alterations. I needed the bust and hips taken in and the hem taken up. The result was a perfect fit for me. I also appreciated I could bring my MIL and SIL to the final fitting appointment - they noticed a thing or two that needed to be slightly adjusted (that I wouldn't have been able to see). I needed her services again to fix snags and train damage that occurred during our overseas wedding and she was so quick to help and charged me less than I expected to pay! My experience with Touch of Class was the opposite of "class", and similar to that of another reviewer. The barking dogs I was prepared for, but Mari was not there at the appointed 5pm. A man answered the door, saying "Mari didn't have my number, so she couldn't tell me she had a flat tire and was probably a half hour away." (She had my contact information from the scheduling form). While conferring with my mother and sister, both of whom had driven an hour in traffic to get there, Mari pulled up with a car exhibiting no problems. I got my wedding dress perfectly fitted 2 months prior to my wedding. Then 2 weeks before the wedding, I had lost too much weight so the upper part of the dress became way too big. I called her panicking, and she calmed me down and told me to just come on in that same day. And guess what!!!! she refused to take the money even though it was me that lost too much weight after the dress was fitted! So i tipped her. She took the dress and told me she only needs a few days, but I said I'll come back in a week. And there it was! I picked up the dress yesterday, perfectly fitted to my body in every way. She is the SWEETEST and the most flexible lady ever. Not to mention how talented she is. There isn't anything she cant fix. I see a few complaints about her dogs in the house ?????? Ok. When you walk in, she has a gate set up on the other side of the living room (far away from the master room where she works) where her two small cockapoos are just chillin and sleeping. They NEVER barked or made any kind of fuss. I actually went over there to pet them, and that's when they started wagging their tails. She has a cozy and neat set up over there. Went to this place today to get my dress fixed during hours of operation. Pulled up and surprisingly it's a house. This is not the bad thing. The thing is, I called the phone number about 3 times whilst parked in front with no answer; then I decided to go ring the doorbell. From the time I stepped to the front door I can smell strong marijuana coming from inside. No one came to the door and I stood out there and called one last time; still no answer. I called Mari and after meeting her, I'm glad I didn't go anywhere else. She works out of her home, so when you're there you are the only one her attention is on. She is very professional and was much more approachable than the women you meet in a bridal store. I actually needed more done to my dress than i thought and Mari quickly pointed it out. The dress was finished within the next week and when I went to try it on again I was speechless. It was like a completely different dress and i felt beyond beautiful in it. I went to Mari because she quoted the lowest price. I was a little concerned about going to a seamstress that works out of her house but the price was so low I took a chance. Big Big mistake. When I came for my final fitting my dress was ruined and she wanted more money to fix it. A LOT more money. I had only one week before my wedding and I knew I needed to take it to a professional to fix or buy another dress. So I took it to a seamstress my friend recommended and they were amazing and fixed it perfectly in time for my wedding. Buyer beware of Mari. Touch of Class Alterations was recommended to me by the bridal store where I purchased my dress from. While the owner is very polite and easy to schedule with and prices are pretty reasonable, she did a terrible job with the alterations. The dress looked nothing like it had when she pinned it on me. The sides were sticking out which made me appear about 15 pounds heavier and the front lace overlay was bunched in the front from being too far pulled to the left. The straps were not sewn on as I had asked her to do, she used hooks, and they were falling off my shoulders. I very politely asked her about these and was told "that's the dress" she refused to even take a second look at her work. I took the dress to another alterations and the seamstress there took one look at me and said it was all wrong, she fixed the dress beautifully! Lesson learned you get what you pay for. read more
