We even explained that our questions were out of curiosity, not because we were doubting her work, but she still responded with attitude. At one point, when we were trying to reason with her, she outright told us she didn't want to be nice. Her customer service was completely unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable throughout the experience. To make matters worse, she shortened my dress more than what we had agreed upon. I found Mari online, called her, explained my timeline, and she assured me she could help. She instructed me to book my appointment through her website, which I did. Today, I received a notification that my appointment was cancelled. I called--no answer. I tried to rebook online, but the next available appointments weren't until May 2026, which is months after I need my dress done. So I drove to the address to get clarity. When I arrived, Mari told me her online booking system "has issues" and often double-books appointments, which causes earlier bookings--like mine--to get cancelled. When I asked to rebook, she said to do it online. I explained that the only appointments available were in May, long after my wedding. Her response was essentially that she couldn't fix it, and I would need to find someone else. As a business owner myself, the attitude and lack of accountability were really disappointing. I'm sharing this review to help others avoid the same experience. If you're looking for reliable wedding dress alterations, I recommend choosing someone else.

She raised her voice when I calmly said it was too big when I tried it on. This was just two weeks before my wedding, and she said she was too busy to fix it, then suddenly had time after my sister-in-law called on my behalf. She then lied about the price she was going to charge me to fix her own mistake and then raised it. I paid her the initial $800 she asked for, which I regret so much. The wedding dress alterations from The Bride's Tailor were so bad that Luv Bridal had to completely redo the dress when I brought it to them instead. Do not hire The Bride's Tailor in Peoria -- unprofessional, dishonest, and manipulative.

I needed the dress hemmed fairly because I decided not to wear heels and I am 5'3. The price was a good deal! It was about an hour away from me but was worth the price and reviews. I DID NOT GET A BUSTLE! Too much dress and I did not like it, maybe the back of the dress way too big and hid the beautiful aplicase. I had to short but great consultations, first to pin everything and second to check it and take it home. I also tried the dress on multiple times at home. It fit amazingly! Come to my wedding day and I put on the dress and feel a prick. The top layer in my lining was all still pinned and not hemmed. We had to safety pin the whole top lining so I could walk. Very inconvenient and disappointing. Thankfully I had people who could pin it and thankfully had pins. It wasn't horrible but I did trip a lot and had to fix it a few times. Next day I reached out to Melinda and she felt really bad a refund me a 1/3 of the cost. But unfortunately my dress is still not done. Moral of the story, check for pins.
