This review is overdue... I relocated to Arizona recently and was in desperate need of a skilled alterations expert and thank God I found Aneta!! When I lived in Southern California I had a great alterations guy and never dreamed I'd find someone just as good near my home in Arizona. I had a colorful, halter maxi dress that had been in my car for weeks while I searched for the right person to alter. A few weeks ago, I was driving on Bell Road and noticed an alterations sign and decided to go in to see if they could alter my maxi dress. Upon entering, I was greeted by a sweet, funny, personable woman (Aneta). I explained that I needed my dress taken in and tried the dress on (yes they have a dressing room on sight). When I came out Aneta had me stand in front of a 3-way mirror while she pinned the dress. I liked that she took the time to ask what/how I wanted the dress to look, gave me her honest opinion and provided a few options. In addition, she was able to complete the alterations quickly at a reasonable cost and my dress fits perfectly!! She also sells a number of masks with various sports team logos. Horrible experience. If I could give zero stars, I would. She was extremely rude whenever we asked questions and became defensive when we were simply trying to understand the alterations process. We even explained that our questions were out of curiosity, not because we were doubting her work, but she still responded with attitude. At one point, when we were trying to reason with her, she outright told us she didn't want to be nice. Her customer service was completely unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable throughout the experience. To make matters worse, she shortened my dress more than what we had agreed upon. Horrible .Took my dress in to be shortened. Agreed on price and time. Upon returning the dress was not even started. it was at home with another employee who said he didn't know what to do with it. I was asked to wait for him to come in. I did. once again went over hem length and was to return upon closing later that day. as I was pulling out of parking lot the employee began knocking on my window. He then told me it was a lot of work and he was increasing the price another$30 I was appalled! Not only had it not been done,no phone call to let me know,and now a price increase!! I needed to have a garment altered and added fringes to it in three days. Not only was this done, it was so affordable the $40 tip I gave seems unfair. This seamstress was so nice and accommodating I continue to buy items on display at her shop. I'd recommend this seamstress to all that needs good work. read more

First time needing a seamstress so I wasn't sure what exactly I was walking into when researching a place. My main reason for choosing Aneta, was location. The reviews being so old made me a little nervous to try her, but I'm glad I did. I told her what I needed, two bootcut jeans altered and she delivered. Same day too! I can understand the bad reviews (she is aware of her bad reviews but doesn't care, she expressed this to me in person before my terrible encounter explained below). I called in on a Saturday requesting for pricing to shorten two of my dress pants. The lady told me $10. Initially, I was very happy with this price so decided to come in. The lady, Aneta, told me to come in Monday instead as she was closing early at 2pm and did not have a helper (I am assuming her daughter). I come in on Monday and I put on my dress pants for her to pin where I'd like them to be cut. She writes down $18 on the receipt. I immediately tell her she told me $10 each on the phone. Before I could finish stating this, she rips up the receipt, pulls out all the pins from my dress pants and throws them at me and tells me to get out. I needed these pants to be done by Friday (and it was Monday so I had only a few days) so going elsewhere was something I was unable to do. I fell for her trap but I will NEVER come back. I will NEVER recommend this place to anybody. I picked up my pants when they were done and never looked back. Aneta complained to me that she's "old," she's "70 years old and she still has to work for a living." It still doesn't give you the right to treat people this way. It was the most rudest interaction I've ever experienced by anybody in my life. I was so stunned I stood there and stared at her for awhile. This was beyond disrespectful, beyond rude, beyond everything I've ever experienced. Her daughter was quiet in the back room, it seems her daughter knows this is an occurring thing and just stays quiet. She needs to close down. read more

Fantastic workmanship and fast professional service. I had a formal gown hemmed and new wider straps made out of the excess material from the length. I am beyond impressed with the final product the straps look better than the original ones that came with the dress. I will be using this business for all of my alteration needs. read more

I had had her alter my kids clothes, a blanket and about 40 other things. She even completely changed the neck of a dress I had and it looks amazing. I am typically not in a rush. A week or two or three doesn't bother me. I am so happy with her work, she is really lovely. I have been coming here for 4 years I believe. There are only a few negative comments about this instillation but all of them are true because I experienced the same unprofessional rude behavior from the owner. I have been here on 2 separate occasions and she was rude to me and she was rude to another woman. She wrote two different prices on my receipt, told me it was the cheaper one, and when I went to pay she tried to charge me a more expensive price. When I argued the original price and explained her reasoning for charging me the original 60 instead of 70, she realized her mistake but she stated, verbatim, "just give me 60 and leave me alone" Her work may be ok but I do not recommend this instillation. read more

She charged me $45 for a dress hem. Maybe it was a rush charge since I wanted it done in a week and a half (which still seems like ample time). I didn't know of any other places so I agreed. The hem fell out during photos before I even made it to my event! I did a few hand stitches to try to help it not get worse. By the end of the night it had completely fallen out on the front half except for where I had hand-sewn it, and an additional spot had fallen out on the back half! read more

First, I wish I found the reviews prior to going into this business. I called the night before because no one responded on the email they have listed. She seemed a little annoyed. However, she told me to come in but could not get anything done soon. The next morning we stopped by and within 2 minutes of showing her what we needed to alter, she rolled her eyes, and seemed annoyed! I turned around and told her nevermind we'll go somewhere else. We brought it here & it was taken in & downsized perfectly. She will have you try things on so she can see exactly what needs to be done & pin it all up before you take it off. Aneta, the owner of Aneta Alterations is an excellent seamstress and a super cooperative business person. She came to my rescue by doing some alterations that were needed the same day to my grandson's basketball uniform . Aneta made this alteration while I waited and did not charge me a cent, Instead she wished me a 'Merry Christmas'. What a generous spirited lady! And that isn't all. The previous evening I brought in another uniform for the same alterations. Although Aneta was busy, she spent time instructing me how to do this myself. This. Woman. Is. Amazing! I brought my work skirt to her because the pocket ripped. She stayed after hours to finish it! How amazing is that, I mean who do you know in this world that has that much customer service anymore!? She does quality work and helps you in anyways she can. She definitely knows her stuff too. If I could rate this place with negative stars I would. No one has ever been as rude to me as this lady to want to post a bad review but here it goes. When I dropped my pants off for alteration, a nicer, younger lady helped me with no problem. I called a few days later to ask if my pants are ready and that's when the older lady started to yell "WHAT PANTS? I HAVE NO PANTS?" She speaking in an angry tone and wasn't willing to cooperate until I heard the younger lady in the background explain that she had my pants. I immediately went to pick up the pants. When I got there, the older lady gave me attitude and asked why I looked mad? I told her because she's rude and she went on to explain that she's an older woman and I should respect her. I told her I'm not here for a conversation and to just give me my pants. She refused to grab my clothes and said I have to listen to what she has to say first. She refused to give my pants until i was the one to apologize to another customer waiting there. Poor girl looked terrified. People be warned! I will NEVER go back. STAY FAR AWAY. She was very rude when we walked in and wouldn't even look at a picture of what we wanted. She assumed she knew what we wanted. She proceeded to be rude the entire time she was pinning my husband's suit coat. As I was requesting prices, she told me that she would not be able to give a price until she cut it apart. She literally told us "no one will teach me how to sew" when I we wanted to show her the picture on my phone. Then when we told her that we were going to go somewhere else, she yelled "I don't cry for customers!" "I'm good at what I do and I don't need any more customers" as she was ripping the pins out of the brand new suit. She was quoting ridiculous prices for the tailoring job like $160 and up. Aneta tried charging me $35 for a simple dress hem and the proceeded to be rude to me when I was shocked. First of all, for that price you better have great customer service. I have been going to her for almost 10 years, and have never had a problem. When I got married, she took the measurements for my custom wedding dress. She did such a wonderful job, no changes were necessary at my final fitting. My husband and his best man also had their measurements done for their custom pants, and again, no changes were needed. Since I have moved to another part of town, I have not found any other place as good as her and that is reasonably priced. She has everything done faster than I expect. I still make the drive to take my items to her. I appreciate she does what I need, for a good price, and in a quickly manner. I recommend her to all of my friends. read more

We have brought her anything from street clothes to highly embellished horse show clothing for alterations - she has done it all without error and in a reasonable time frame. Aneta is extremely rude and actually yelled at me. I brought my wedding dress in for an alterations quote. She didn't have me try it on. She took one look at it and said it was not possible to let out because of beading. When I told her other people said they could, she yelled at me saying "I don't care what other people say, I'm telling you it's not possible." She then continued to look at it, on the hanger, I tried telling her it was just the bodice, not the beaded area but she was fixated on the beading. She told me she has too much work and I would have to find some with the time and patience to do it. Then with her continued attitude told me she did not feel we could work together. She proceeded to zip up the garment bag, too quickly, and caught my dress's tulle in the zipper. At this point I was scared she was going to rip and ruin my dress. I told her to stop and that I would do it. She got offended, threw her hands in the air and walked away. No goodbye, nothing. Now I will be honest, I was a bit taken aback by her yelling at me and may not Have been as nice to her after that as I was at the beginning. However, I did nothing and said nothing that warranted that level of hostility and rudeness. My family has been going to her for years but will not be anymore. Awful customer service. I brought my 500$ jay Godfrey dress to this lowlife to get it hemmed. Realistically it was an easy job. She cut one side to long and one side to short and SHE blamed me!!! Is she crazy. She said I have an attitude problem cause I told her she overcharges (50$) for such an easy job. Then going off on how i count her money. She lost her mind she told me she woke up on the wrong side of the bed that's why she gave me that price . I was like can you get it for me a day early since your charging so much. I brought in 2 pairs of pants to have them altered in length. I had already unstitched one leg and iron it to show the length I wanted. She charged me $35.00 advance. She said it would be one week and because of my work it was over 2 weeks before I could pick them up. I picked them up and only the one leg was altered, but back the way it was when I purchased them. She didn't even touch the other 3 pant legs. The tan ones came back with black grease on the leg. 7/18/14 went back in to get my money back. Had one pair on that I had to roll down at the waist to keep from stepping on. She was very rude and argumentative with me. Started telling me she did the work, I showed her she didn't. She said give me pants and I'll do them. I said no I want my money back. She refused. I said that she did not perform the service and that I wanted my money back. She refused and said if I did not leave she would call the police. I said go ahead, I'll wait. I told her the law is, "Theft of Services". This lady is every bit of what is said in these reviews and worse, Rude, dishonest, and argumentative.
