The interior is spacious and well-appointed, and the staff were consistently courteous and professional. I ordered the cinnamon coffee and found it excellent--robust, well-balanced, and flavorful, not diluted as is unfortunately common at some other cafés. The quality and care in preparation were evident. Overall, The KOOKABURRA is a delightful and ethically run café. The corned beef is full of shredded corned beef with just a small amount of potatoes. The hash browns with onions were nice and crispy as I asked and the eggs were cooked nicely with the right amount of run when broken. It was smooth, cozy, and somehow tasted like a hug but also woke me up like I had responsibilities. This was much needed after we landed from cold Chicago, like "hey girl"! Perfect balance of flavor and caffeine, not overly sweet, and actually tasted like real coffee (which is rare these days). However, it took 27 minutes to be served two microwaved breakfast sandwiches. With all the local bagels shops in the area, the cornerstone cafe gets flat bagels that are baked in Jacksonville. The cafe does need some work. I think this place is convenient for the local college students. It will definitely be sometime before we try this place again.
