Very disappointing experience with Luis at this store. I visited the week before and asked for…read moreestimates on porting two lines and buying two new phones (no trade-in), and I was clear about that from the start. He gave me monthly prices for both, but never mentioned that they depended on credit or that a down payment could be required. We even asked whether it mattered which of us was the main account holder, and he said it made no difference. When I came back on Monday, he charged eSIM fees and ported our lines. Only after the lines were already ported did he run my credit and tell me the monthly payments were about the same, but I'd also need down payments on each phone totaling over $1,000. I understand that approval can depend on credit, but that possibility should have been mentioned upfront, before our lines were ported, so we could make an informed decision. When we decided not to continue, he didn't help us reverse the port and we had to figure it out on our own with our previous carrier. It took us three days. Getting the eSIM fees refunded (for SIMs we'll never use) was just as frustrating. My mom went in on Tuesday specifically to ask what was needed and was told only my card. When she came back with it on Wednesday, she was told they also needed my ID since I'm the main account holder, and then a manager's approval. Luis didn't seem to know the refund process, and each time she returned with what they asked for, she was put back in line while other customers were helped. The manager never stepped in to help. Now I have to wait about 10 days to get my money back, even though the port happened instantly. Customers deserve full transparency before any process starts, and to be treated with respect. I would not recommend this store.

Well the fact is that this person was able to get through a Mother buying her daughter her first phone, then he dealt with a couple that he was trying to save money for but they said they absolutely "needed" the iPhone 16 Pro when they both had iPhone 15 pros. I love the fact that he said to them "you will be paying for your old phones while paying for your new phones" and he didn't seem at all like he was thinking what I was - which was "why? and what world are you in that you need the latest iPhone at all times"- but alas I am a curmudgeon when it comes to waste somewhat so that is my problem and the way he treated everyone was excellent! He didn't make them feel stupid for wanting the latest tech and he wasn't pushy - as a matter of fact the only thing he mentioned was that he just wanted to make sure they were aware that they would be raising their bill by X amount a month. Then it was my turn and he apologized profusely for having me wait - which I had expected - any time you go into a cell phone store I expect at least a 30 - 60 min wait time (unless it is a genius bar appointment - at which time you will wait over 11/2 hours (at least the one in old orchard)- and this is when I had an appointment lol. So yes go to this Verizon above all if you want to get a good deal and a sales associate who will get you it - you have found the right place.

Some kids asked me to borrow the phone on Thanksgiving and it got a virus after. As usual the place was really busy, but the owner Paul made sure that I was taken care of right away. He offered to provide a substitute screen replacement, that was compatible, as an alternate to the warranty product. He was incredibly fast with the switch out and helpful in letting me know the next steps to engage the actually company for an online warranty process. Definitely recommend. FYI, this location is north of downtown Chicago, about a 35min ride by uber or train.
