AVOID at all costs. There are too many other GREAT optometrist in Pleasanton to choose from!! We've come here (family of 5) for 2+ years. Year one, pretty good, though slow when ordering contacts, receiving eye glasses. This past year though ... just HORRIBLE customer service. 1. ordered glasses, told it would take 7-14 days. On day 15 (business day 15!) I call and I am told "someone should have called you, the manufacturer doesn't make that frame any longer" ... what? No apology, just "so come in at your convenience and pick out new frames" and wait another 7-14 business days to receive. 2. my daughter went in for her yearly appointment. New prescription, ordered glasses and contacts. When we went to pay, my daughter noticed the prescription written on the paperwork receipt was different than what the dr. had told her. The person accepting the pymt FIRMLY told my daughter she was wrong. Luckily the dr. walked by and we flagged him down. He CONFIRMED her prescription had been changed and "not sure why the file wasn't updated". I am ok that mistakes happen. I am NOT ok to be told 'you are wrong' end of story! 3. called and re-ordered contacts and was told it would be 7-10 days. Day 11 I call and I am told "the order wasn't placed" ... what? No explanation except, 'some people are having trouble with our new online ordering system'. BUT I didn't do the order online...I called & spoke to a live person, your employee! I didn't order contacts from Foothill, instead I drove over to Hacienda Optometry. The guy took my order and in 3 days I had my contacts (oh and he gave me a 1 month disposable for free b/c he wanted to make sure my eyes stayed healthy). In summary ... AVOID at all costs!! read more

I recently brought my boyfriend in for an eye problem, and Dr. Liu was able to tell right away that it was actually related to a back problem that causes eye inflammation. I was really impressed, and he went the extra mile to make sure that he kept coming in for follow up appointments as he was healing up. I liked the office so much that I decided to make an appointment for myself. I knew that my vision wasn't bad, but I was having a lot of migraines and noticed that things never looked quite right on the computer screen at work. I was told by another optometrist that I didn't really need glasses, but he still gave me low perscription glasses that did nothing to help. I had a feeling that maybe there was something else that I could do and had faith that Dr. Liu could help. After saying I had 20-20 vision Dr. Liu kept checking my eyes and doing more tests. He told me that I had convergence insufficiency, which meant that my eyes weren't lining up like they should. It made sense of a lifetime of issues with reading and headaches. The glasses are definitely showing great improvements and I couldn't be more grateful! read more

I've been coming to Foothill Optometric for about 20 years now (back when they were still at Rose Pavilion), and their superior service has only gotten better. To say that I've never experienced better service anywhere still doesn't do them justice, because they're continually striving to improve themselves, all while remaining warm and humble. To me they continually redefine excellence in customer care. I can't say they're perfect because every time I do, they break the mold! What I can say is that every time I've visited, I've been provided with the best care I've every received in my life. I simply cannot imagine a higher standard for care and service. Last time they asked me to come in 10 minutes before my appointment time. Figuring that it was the holiday season and therefore likely to be more hectic and busy than usual, I obliged. They began my exam...ready for this?...10 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. Who else does that?! Who else can? No one I've seen, and thanks to Foothill Optometric my vision is 20/20! :P read more

I was referred to Foothill Optometric Group by a previous coworker, specifically to Dr. Yang. The entire office staff is very professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I wish I had found them sooner! Dr. Andrew Yang is the best eye professional I've ever seen, and able to explain things to me. I recently went to him with some vision problems, and he went above and beyond to check possible causes, and was so patient and thorough with my eye exam and the explanations. I learned more from him than an ophthalmologist I saw back in June. The optical technicians were also very helpful in getting my glasses to fit optimally, as well as explaining new solutions I am going to use for my contacts. My only criticism is that I thought my eye glasses were more expensive than what I would have paid at a different place. I plan to continue to come to this place. read more

Very bad experience. Avoid this optometrist group. Lost our family and friends business due to greedy office staff. My experience dealing with was office staff was worst than dealing with a car salesperson. As they know I was not looking for dollar and cents they start adding more and more out of pocket expance. It did not stop after I paid and left the building. I got a call with in 30 min for some additional charges. Next day I get VM from DeDe " I just want to let you know that the lab is going to charge you $25 for the lenses that have been surfaced already and that's your insurance lab and then we have the there's no I'm sorry the page you 35 and then we have the $25 restocking fee. So you will have a a $60 taken away from your your payment. Okay? " read more

Couldn't ask or find better than FOG! REVIEW DESCRIPTION Always professional and friendly. Willing to go the extra mile. Dr. Longacre is outstanding - brilliant, creative, friendly and willing to think outside the box. I enjoy coming to FOG and never dread it like other medical appointments. They are also very timely and respectful of my time. The front desk staff are amazing - especially Shelly, the office manager is truly delightful. Highly recommend. We are planning to move to San Diego in 2020 and I will try to work out staying with FOG and coming back once a year to remain a FOG patient. read more

Our family has been going to Foothill Optometric Group for close to 15 years. We love Dr. Staples and the rest of the team. It's wonderful that they offer evening and weekend appointment options. Dr. Staples is always helpful, thorough, and makes the experience fun and friendly. She also did the Pre and Post-Op care after I had lasik surgery. The rest of the staff is also knowledgeable and helpful whether checking in or out, selecting glasses, or helping make any adjustments that might be needed. Definitely looking forward to many more years with this great team of people. read more

My experience at Foothill Optometric yesterday was fantastic. I called at noon because I had something wrong with my right eye. They were able to see me at 1:00. The doctor recommended that I not wear my contacts for a while but I didn't have a pair of glasses. I was fitted for a pair of glasses, they had them made, and I was out the door before 2:00. Service like this is practically unheard of. They were extremely professional, accomodating, and you could tell they care about their patients. I'm speechless. You wish every business would treat their customers this way. read more

Our family have been going to Foothill Optometric Group in Pleasanton for many years, and we absolutely LOVE this team! They are so professional, friendly, and efficient. From check-in, to prep, to exam, to check-out, every step is smooth and easy. And they carry a great selection of frames and contacts. Dr. Andrew Yang is an excellent choice, but you can't go wrong with any of the other doctors in the practice. And the office staff is outstanding - so friendly, too. It is a pleasure to visit the office for our annual exams and other eye health needs. Highly recommend. read more

I've been a patient at Foothill Optometric for well over 10 years and there is one reason why - they are incredible. From everyone at the reception desk through to the tech staff and doctors - this is a Class A #1 team. Even when the office is full as is often the case on Saturdays, the team works very well together providing very efficient service and never getting rattled and slipping on attitude. They always stay on their game. I've been seeing eye doctors at least once per year for the last 45 years and Foothill Optometric is the best I've ever encountered. read more

If you know me, you know I may be biased. But if you know me, you will also know i have the inside scoop. I can not imagine doctors that could be any more invested in helping patients and be genuinely concerned with positive outcomes. From keeping up with the most cutting edge technology (i mean crazy new stuff i didn't even know was possible) to finding the newest, hottest boutique frame lines. Your eyes are safe here and you can know they have been thoroughly checked. This grassroots business has flourished under the patient care they provide. read more

From the moment I walked in to the moment I left was an impressive experience. Everyone was friendly and upbeat, despite it being the end of the day- the admin, the lab assistant, Dr Staples. They were very busy, but they seemed to have it down like clockwork and I never felt rushed, Dr Staples explained everything and elaborated when I asked. I was able to take my time to pick out glasses and my plan was explained perfectly to me. Would definitely recommend to others and will continue to go there myself. read more

Dr. Kevin Sjodahl was excellent at bridging the gap between technical and practical. I had never had a complete eye exam I feel like I really understand now what is going on with my vision, and what to expect in the future. Everything was explained thoroughly and was easy to understand. BTW, the 3D imaging of both of my eye's was really incredible to see and have explained. It also is now a living history to compare to when I have my next exam. Highly recommended whether covered by insurance or not. read more

I highly recommend Foothill Optometric. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the office is inviting and comfortable. Dr. Liu is absolutely the best. Not only is he professional, thorough and educational, he is witty and a delight to be with. I hate having anything done with my eyes, yet he makes me feel at ease and laugh. It is not fun going to the doctor, but he makes it fun. Thank you for giving me and my family the best of care. read more
