I have been a patient of Dr. Vidal for years. My son has been seeing him since he was a child and he is now 23 years old, Dr. Vidal is knowledgeable, thorough and patient and always a pleasure to deal with. His staff is terrific, polite, courteous, and extremely helpful. We feel extremely fortunate to have such a great eye doctor. We have recommended him to several friends and everyone agrees that he provides outstanding service. read more

One of my friends recommended this place to me and I'm really happy I decided to make an appointment! I had such a great experience here today! I haven't been to an eye doctor in a long while and I was sort of nervous, but everyone was so awesome and kind. Dr. Y was fantastic and super knowledgeable. He was clear explaining everything as he went along. He made feel very comfortable with the process and was easy to talk to. He was excellent! I don't recall the name of his assistant that helped me in the beginning, but she was amazing as well. Overall, such a positive experience and highly recommend! read more

I love this place. The staff is amazing. Every single lady I've dealt with has been nothing but helpful. The Dr is so nice as well. Takes his time and is great with kids. Not to mention the selection of frames is huge! Got gucci sun glasses and gucci reading glasses. Whenever I needed something they were so quick and efficient. Definitely give them a try if you're in the east county area!! read more

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Vidal for many years, and now my youngest son sees him as well. Dr. Vidal is very thorough, and takes the time to address all of our questions and concerns. We NEVER feel rushed! His office staff is wonderful as well. Cheryl, Brenda, Tina, Cindy, and Angela are professional yet incredibly friendly. They really know their stuff and have helped us with everything from finding flattering, affordable frames to getting the maximum benefit from our vision insurance. I picked up a new pair of glasses today-- last week when I needed new lenses on short notice I had told them I needed them by March 8. They put a rush on them and I now have them on March 1-- AWESOME! Thanks, guys! There may be slightly cheaper places to get glasses, but I won't go anywhere else and give up the terrific personalized service. read more

My 4 year old daughter snapped the hinge off her glasses less than a week before her school pictures. 20/20 Vision had a replacement frame set with her lenses and shipped to the store within a few days. Thank you for your excellent customer service. read more

Been coming here for years and never issues with receptionist till today. Front lady receptionist a older Asian lady was very rude and unprofessional. I was already taken care by another receptionist handling my case but she kept following me for no reason. She was rude towards me. I am no longer wanted to be patient here for eye exam. I believe she did this base of my race. read more

This is probably the worst eye place in the world. Not only do they overcharge for all their services you have to wait a long time before anyone replies. During my eye exam Dr. Peterson disappeared with his secretary for 30 minutes while I was stuck waiting in the exam room. Also the entire staff decides to take a 1hr lunch break but they don't tell you that during that time they are closed. This is the last time I will ever step foot here. Do yourself a favor and don't even make an appointment here. Save your time, save your money and go someplace else! read more

First time getting my eyes checked in a LONG time. The entire staff was extremely friendly, and the check-in/wait was very easy. Dr. Peterson was great; knowledgable and thorough (the most important thing), but he was also extremely friendly and personable. The staff helped me pick out my glasses, and didnt try to push me towards the most expensive option. They genuinely cared about what looked best on me. I highly recommend Dr. Peterson and his team! read more

I went here for an eye exam 1.5 years ago, and I'm still wearing my glasses with the wrong prescription in them because I haven't been able to afford new glasses. A new eye doctor confirmed they were the wrong prescription. I'm sad I wasted all of this money after my appointment and haven't been able to see correctly since. read more

Annie, Cheryl, and Dr. Yeghiazarian, did a great job. Very helpful, polite, and professional. I appreciate Annie's step-by-step simple explanation of what each portion of the eye exam would entail as we approached it. Dr. Yeghiazarian was thorough and Cheryl gave me great lens/frame options to choose from to accommodate our budget. read more

The receptionists do not pay attention to detail and are slow to solve any sort of problem. They forgot about me while I was waiting for an appointment for half an hour. Only upon asking for my appointment to be rescheduled did they realize I was still there. read more

I'm a very satisfied customer - for 20 years now. When I go in I get excellent, professional service on a consistent basis. They take the time to do the job right and are nice, too. I recently had an eye exam through my medical (not vision) insurance. It was rushed, the staff seemed to be on an assembly line,,,, I prefer 20/20 Today. I certainly have had the opportunity to go somewhere else with my vision insurance but I would get anything better elsewhere - they provide excellent all around service. I don't know what happened with Karina L's visit but that is not the service my family has received, and we have been there often. I have recommended Dr. Vidal to many of my friends and have received positive comments from all who have gone. read more

Met the professional office of Dr Peterson today. I received outstanding service from Irene and Dr Peterson. The office is warm and inviting, the people really nice and the eyeglass selection superb. But what is memorable is the genuine feeling I got that they cared. We explored different options for vision correction. Recommend these folks! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Vidal at 20/20 Vision Center for a few years now. The staff has always been very helpful and efficient. Dr. Vidal has always answered my questions and has also offered lots of knowledge when it comes to taking care of one's eyesight. Dr. Vidal and the staff has always made me feel welcome. read more

I love this place. They are so nice and go out of their way to take care of you. I have never had my eyes checked here, but since it is close by I get my contacts there regularly. I once had them change the lenses in my frames and was more than satisfied with their service and speed. Great parking too. I really trust 20/20 and highly recommend. This will be my choice for the next eye exam I need and I won't go anywhere else to pick up my contacts. I call them, they have them ready for me at the desk 5 minutes later. A well run office! read more

As someone who has been only wearing glasses/contacts for the past three years, I don't have a tone of experience with other optometrist. Dr. Peterson and his staff at 20/20 vision were exceptional in helping feel comfortable in doing something that I had never tried before. This was a great experience for me and would highly recommend going to 20/20 vision. Hope this review can provide some insight into how great this practice really is. read more

This place is the best! Friendly people and good prices to help everyone. I was nervous to get fitted for contacts but it was very easy and quick. Lots of experience in the office as well. Highly recommend seeing these guys! read more

I needed to be seen outside regular business hours and not only was Dr. Vidal available, he met me inside 15 minutes from my distressed phone call. Now less than an hour later, two foreign objects have been removed from my eye and I'm going to be able to sleep tonight (unlike last night), watch two soccer tournaments without suffering, enjoy a long holiday weekend and avoid the ER! THANK YOU! Also, this is our regular eye "place." I bring my family here because the staff is wonderful and they have a great selection of eyewear. They were so good teaching my daughter how to use contacts. Look no further. This is a great business, the kind you're grateful to find (trust me). read more

This place is Amazing!!! Cheryl made this place feel so warm and caring right off the bat over the phone. She went the extra mile to help us with our insurance forms and make us feel welcomed. Once we got there the entire staff was just as great including the doctor. My wife and son had a very efficient and easy eye exam. We will definitely be returning customers =) read more

My husband and I both had a great experience here. The staff, techs and Doctor were all very polite and helpful. The exam was very thorough. The lab made an error with my frames and the office kept in constant contact to update me on progress and arrival. I would recommend this office. read more

We have been going to 20/20 Vision Center for over 20 yrs. Dr Vidal was who we saw then. He was always professional, courteous and knowledgeable. When we heard he was retiring we wondered if we'd be looking for a new eye center. After one appointment with Dr Y, we were relieved that we could stay at 20/20 Vision. As was Dr Vidal, Dr Y is thorough, professional, knowledgeable and listens intently to our concerns. From the moment you enter their office, you're met with friendly accommodating staff. Cheryl who has been there since my first visit is always cheerful and welcoming. Any questions I've had about my glasses choice and options, she has answers. If I've needed adjustments later on, it's a quick visit without having to wait. I was in the office last week getting my eye exam and met Annie for the first time. She's a great addition and helped me pick out some frames. The process of ordering was quick and efficient and her suggestions were much appreciated. I typically don't post reviews but during this last year of trying times in our communities it was encouraging to know that as much as things have changed, 20/20 Vision Center hasn't. read more

I can't say enough great things about my experience with Dr. Peterson and 20/20 Vision center! Dr. Peterson is very professional and helpful! I had to go in for a routine check-up and he was efficient and knowledgeable. I have contacts and the cutest pair of glasses that he helped pick out. They are Michael Kors frames that are very stylish. He has a ton of glasses to choose from and his assistants are extremely helpful as well! I will definitely go back to Dr. Peterson for all my eye exams. read more

Doctor Notes: Dr. Peterson has been my eye doctor for 10+ years, quite possibly even longer. Dr. Peterson is personable and warm. He is awesome at building positive relationships with his clients, with a great memory of your prior visits and past conversations. He is a proponent of LASIK. After a lifetime of glasses and contacts, it was time to pursue his recommendation. Best decision I ever made - a life changer! Dr. Peterson helped me throughout that whole process. Yearly, I continue to see him for eye exams and have recommended his services to my family. Office Notes: The office has many name brand eye glasses to choose from. The waiting room is cozy with all your major magazines. The staff is efficient in getting you into your eye tests rather quickly which decreases waiting room time. read more

First time ever there and very impressed with the staff and Dr, very proffesional. Very detailed eye examination and fast and friendly staff, as well as a great selection of frames and lenses. Not a ghetto environment like others I have used in the area. Would definitely go back. read more

I took my elderly mom to 20/20 for an eye exam. Right off, the staff was extremely nice. Dr. Vidal did the exam and he is great! He was so nice, caring and professional. I cannot say enough nice things about this office and all the people we dealt with there. read more

My family and I have been going here for many years, and I have never been disappointed! Super nice staff and doctors. They are very thorough and really know what they're doing! I have not only received glasses and contacts from them, but I also had cataracts at a very early age, and they referred me to my medical doctor for surgery. Thank you to this entire staff! read more

Hopefully, my experiences with 20/20 and Dr. Rasmussen will shed some light on the previous negative review... Dr. Rasmussen has been my Doctor since I was a small girl... In fact, I worked for him for nearly 10 years! He has worked over 50 years as a member of the American Optometric Association, and has contributed a wealth of effort and research to the field of Optometry. He is a perfectionist and chooses only the very best labs to create the glasses and contacts he prescribes to his patients. He would never choose one of those drive-thru lab which create cheap lenses and frames in a day... He only uses the best for his patients. Quality takes time.... The young lady who wrote the scathing review seems to have a problem slamming the professionals who have worked hard for years and years to establish a reputation. Dr. Rasmussen wasn't even her Dr. Her beef wasn't even about Dr. Petersen... It was about the staffer who offended her by implying she wasn't able to afford "Fendi's"... That is silly cattiness! Come on... Do we really need to be impressed? The staffer should never have dispensed broken glasses. (By the way, that staffer isn't even there any more!) The staff they have will surely treat everyone with the greatest kindness and respect... I have always been impressed because Dr. Rasmussen won't compromise, and continues to use only labs which craft your lenses out of the very best materials available -- in spite of the economy! I know Dr. Petersen is the same way! God gives us only one set of eyes! We need to take care of them! read more

Okay, so when I first got there one of the receptionist was nice. The tech that checked my eyes was really nice and really helpful. The lady that was helping me pick out my frames.... NOT so much she was rude. When I picked up a pair of Fendi glasses, she goes " Did you look at the price on those" OH that was it for me, I dont know why ANYONE would say that. Wether they thought you could afford it or not, it should not have been said. I had just gotten off of work and I was wearing scrubs and I didn't look like a bum! Anyway after that they tell me it will be a week for me to get my glasses.... three weeks later I get them AND THEY'RE BROKEN!!!! It has now been about a month since I went and I have broken glasses :) This is Dr. Steven Peterson and Donald Rasmussen's office. its in the back when you enter the 20 20 vision. I will NEVER GO there again, and I would def. NEVER recomend their office to ANYONE! I hope this helps! Again, it was a member of the STAFF that made my experience horrible. oh and I did FINALLY get my pair of glasses that weren't broken about 2 months after my original appointment. read more

First, I want to say that Dr. J. Michael Vidal deserves 5 Stars!!!!!!!!! I gave 3 star rating of my overall experience. I had an appointment here about two weeks ago for an contact and glasses exam. The building space is shared with another eye glass/optometry company so the division of space is not very clear for first time visitors. So upon arrival I was kindly greeted by the other company and directed around the corner to 20/20 vision. There were two women behind the desk both chattering to each other and providing no eye contact and brief greeting. To say the least, the customer service was sub par. While waiting to be seen I viewed the eyeglasses and tried on some while one of the receptionist was in clear view of me trying them on she did not offer to help. So asked another lady to help me, she explained she is not an employee of 20/20 but can get someone to help. Someone did come to help, she didnt seem to interested in helping based on body language...this poor service, inattentiveness and lack of motivation continued throughout my appointment up until and after I was seen by Dr. Vidal. The last comment that warranted the three star was the comment I received from the receptionist regarding an eye drop. Dr. Vidal asked the receptionist to give me an eye drop to try due to my allergies. Instead she ignored his request and continued to check me out, and when I asked about the eye drop she appeared irritated asked whether I needed it. ..that was the final straw. I must make it clear that if I were to rate my experience with Dr. Vidal solely, I would definitely give 5 Stars. Dr. Vidal was kind, funny and courteous. You can clearly see that Dr. Vidal is passionate about his craft and enthusiastic when educating his clients. He was warm and welcoming throughout. I would like to return to Dr. Vidal because I trust his assessment and care though I am reluctant because of the poor service I received from the receptionist. read more

I have been going to Dr. Vidal for over 25 years and think he is the best out there! I am leaving San Diego and know that I will likely never find such a great place for my vision needs. I have referred lots of friends and coworkers to him over the years and everyone loves him. You cannot go wrong with 20/20 vision! read more

Not a big fan. I've been going here for the last 15 years, but not anymore. I called today to see if I could get a lens to hold me over until my eye exam and they said "There's nothing we can do to help you". They said I hadn't been in since 2008 for an exam. Whatever. I asked if there was anyway their files were incorrect and she said "no". Anyway, went to Target Optical by Sports Areana. No appointment, walked in. Saw me immediately. Super detailed exam. $82.00. Lens were way cheaper than at Dr. Vidal plus they're running a special, buy a years supply of contacts and get any glassed you want for $89.00. Sold. I would TOTALLY recommend Target. read more
