My first review was based on the terrible experience I had when I first visited the restaurant and was summarily ignored. I thought it only fair to make sure I tried the food also and update my review. I did not have the same issue to get a table, but the service for an uncrowded restaurant, was very polite and good. I think they still have to work out some kinks because when it came time to get my bill, I couldn't find anyone for quite some time. Not a big issue, just a matter of some polish needed. First of all there are two Yelp entries for this place. I read the four star rated one with a handful of reviews and decided to try. It was only when I tried to checkin did I realize that it was rated lower with several reviews over the years. Anyway, since we were hungry and were already at the restaurant we decided to give it a try. We were served some chips and salsa while we waited. We can get a pretty good assessment of a Mexican restaurant based on the salsa and the salsa here was spicy but not enticing enough to keep pulling us back for more. The kids got their usual chicken cheese quesadilla. They don't have a separate kids menu but we were told we could order either fried chicken or quesadilla for the kids with fries. We asked for suggestions on what to order and were recommended the chicken taco trio and enchilada with red sauce. The chicken tacos were unlike anything I had before. They were either deep fried or shallow fried with cheese all over them. Interesting, not the healthiest. Tasty enough but I could not go back for more looking at the amount of fat. The enchilada came with a red sauce as we were told that was better than the green but I didn't fancy it much. It had raw undertones and the flavors just didn't fit well together. The kids quesadilla had generous amount of chicken and cheese and tasted decent. Ambiance was unlike any Mexican restaurant I had seen before. We ordered onsite, Togo. This is our first time trying. We have lived in Campbell for over 15 years, but this spot is new. We are dying for a good Mexican place since there aren't in the area. We ordered Alex's Cajun chicken tacos with birria consome - the chicken flavor was good. That meal was my husband's favorite. It also came with the soup of the day, posole. I'm not sure why the soup is so oily; it tastes good but is exceptionally oily. $17 Next, we tried the potato flautas. They were OK. I didn't like them. I don't know why they add so much garnish. I'm not a fan of sprouts at all. I had to wipe everything off, and it wasn't that great. $14 We also tried the chicken flautas with rice and beans. They had a purple or dark-colored tortilla with lots of garnish, but they tasted good. $19 Our experience wasn't too fabulous. They forgot to add the rice and beans to the order, so my husband had to drive back to get them. When he returned, the food was cold, which ruined my experience. Wiping all the toppings off just ruined it for me, too. I'd love to try the food in person and give it another chance. I think her name was Francesca, and she took the order. Our order wasn't checked to see if the food was correct, which was a disappointment. Please check your Togo orders so customers don't have to return to get what was paid for. The night we went, the restaurant was practically empty! Only a couple of other diners. The service was good and our server was friendly and helpful. We had the Pollo en Tinga (chicken Tinga )tostadas and the Coctel de Camaron (shrimp) tostadas. They were piled high and were delicious. The shrimp ones were a bit too spicy for me, but I enjoyed having the cucumber in it to cool down my mouth. All is all a great meal. read more

I am very disappointed in this restaurant. We were there last night celebrating my mother's 67th bday. Our server turned out to be the manager as well (Julia). We were a party of 13. Let me just start with my food...I ordered chiles rellenos. They were entirely burnt. The egg was so burnt it tasted charred. Our appetizer came with our food after I got up and asked for it. Julia NEVER checked in on us once our food was dropped off. I had to ask another server to get our server and he kindly asked if we needed anything he can help with. My plate was so bad I couldn't even eat it. I returned my plate and he was very kind and asked if I wanted anything else. At this point everyone was already done eating since our server never checked in on us. Then 20 minutes go by and we still don't see her, so I got up and asked for a manager so we can get our tab. That is when I found out our server was the manager. Julia, never refilled our drinks. Didn't ask if we wanted dessert. When I complained to her about the service and everything I just mentioned. She still never refilled our drinks and simply just said we don't have a dessert menu but if you want dessert you have to ask for it. She was not kind and seemed annoyed. She did give us $25 off and removed my plate off the bill. She also apologized and said they are not used to a big dinner rush like this on a Sunday. Mind you the place didn't really look that busy. I think we were just forgotten because we were such a big party we got sat in the back room. Sadly we will not be returning and will not recommend this restaurant. Took my very pregnant friend here from a nice meal before she has her baby next week! When we walked in it was fairly empty. Beautiful decor. We were greeted right away and brought some tostadas and salsa that was beautifully presented. Our server was an older lady who seemed super nice. She took our order and eventually our food was brought to us. Food was delicious!! Rating 3 stars bc service was bad after we received our food. Our server didn't check on us once. My friend wanted to order a juice and I needed water but because I've been a sever I was trying to be patient as I saw she had a large table and one in the back corner . 10 minute later still nothing.. 10 minutes later she finally came by and we asked for water refills and a box and she never came back with either the box or water. We waited a long time until my friend waved down another server to get our check. More waiting to pay so I finally walked up to the host stand and the server that gave me my check rung me up. On our way out, we even past our server and she didn't even acknowledge us. I am almost always understanding to situations since I worked in the industry a long time and I am huge tipper! this was the worst I have ever tipped because this was the worst service I've had in years. I felt bad leaving a small tip but couldn't do it. Overall food 5/5 but our server was a 1/5! She needs more training or time management skills. It seemed like we had to wait awhile for this to open, but so worth the wait!! The staff was attentive, knowledgeable and experienced. The food was incredible! My friend had the Birria Tacos which came with some Beef Consomme - out of this world good. I had the Mexican Benedict which was so incredibly delicious! (Sourdough toast, Longinisa, grilled tomato and onion and of course Hollandaise sauce. Served with a side of roasted potatoes.) And I had to try the esquites (Mexican street corn in a bowl). If I could give this place 0 stars it would be applicable. We came for lunch and got seated but then it took 10 mins of waiting and waving down a server to get assistance. We asked for water since we didn't get any as we were seated. 20 mins of waiting and I had to go up to the bar to ask for water and decided to take it back myself. The food came out after 20 mins. We ended up just getting the check and boxes to go since the experience was horrible. The waiter decided to joke about receiving a $75 tip to make his day when honestly a tip was not deserved from the level of service provided. Another amazing Tostadas location!! My boyfriend and I have been dying to take his parents here since visiting their location by San Jose city college and thought we'd check out their new location while doing so. Honestly as soon as I walked through the door I was instantly impressed. The decor is beautiful inside and we were greeted right away by their friendly host. Luckily, we got to sit in the dining area with the beautiful leaf wall and the comfiest chairs! They definitely made the experience that much better because they were so comfy to sit in. When dining at the other location I tried their bacon birria cheeseburger and loved it so I decided to try one of their brunch menu items this time. I got the tres leches French toast and OMG....soo yummy. I finished the entire thing and that never happens! The only thing that could have made it better was having a side of hash browns or something to make it more of a complete meal. We ordered the nachos for the table which were awesome and we also loved the complimentary salsas as they had great flavor and heat. They have such fun drinks here as well! I got the cantarito which was so yummy! I've had their margaritas before too and they are also really good. They offer a full bar so there is sure to be a drink for everyone! Four of us came here for dinner. Food and drinks were very good from appetizers to our entrees. Our server, Francesca, was really great. I removed 1 star because the service wasn't that great. We had to flag someone down to have them remove the finished plates. We had to do this twice. If you're dropping off entrees, remove the appetizer plates at the same time. Finally had the opportunity to visit. I've never been to any other locations, but it has a unique atmosphere to the Bay Area- much cozier than the majority of other restaurants. Had an absolutely fabulous dinner here. I'd been driving past this place for months and was so excited when I saw they were finally open. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, especially our server Natalie who gave us great recommendations. We split the chicken tostadas and the roasted octopus.
