    Chicken teriyaki meal

Good portion size, and I like the coleslaw with rice - directly mixing the coleslaw in with the rice is the way to go! The chicken was tender and flavorful, but I don't know if I could really tell the difference between seattle vs standard style. I would return here!

There are a lot more better teriyaki restaurants for the same price than here. Portions aren't good for the price. The lettuce they used for the side salad was so old that the color had changed.

Toshi's was THE original Seattle teriyaki restaurant back in the late 1970s, with the first one in Lower Queen Anne. The guy who started it would open a couple of new locations then sell them. Eventually, he got smart and started franchising instead. From there came the thousands of teriyaki places we have today. Not sure if this was a bought or franchised unit. But it's a shadow of the former Toshi's (the originator is not involved in the business anymore). Food is okay. It's decent teriyaki. But so many mom and pop shops have improved on the basic idea over the years that this just isn't the best now. Chicken was tasty and tender. Gyoza were cooked to perfection but taste like frozen premade. My biggest issue was the salad with some bad lettuce that should never have left the kitchen. Serving stuff like that speaks to lack of attention to detail and to lack of care. Not good. And the salad dressing seemed a bit watered down--tasted good but too thin. So, look elsewhere for your teriyaki fix. There are teriyaki joints on just about every corner in the Seattle region.

    Not fresh soaked in dressing.

I'm sorry to say I will never be back to Toshi's Teriyaki. I ordered a spicy chicken today for lunch and was dissatisfied and disappointed with their lack of quality. Normally the chicken is cooked with the spicy sauce but for whatever reason they just plopped chili paste over my *chicken breast* and called it good. No, not good. There's no flavor and the chicken breast has been cut up in all these giant, sloppy pieces. I ordered chicken breast to avoid that type of meat and that's all I got. The chicken is also stiff and dry. To top it off, the salad it comes with is brown at the corners and soaking in sauce. They put a small amount of chicken on top of the rice and fill the rest of the tray with a soy sauce container and random cabbage slices. I won't be back.

    Ordered chicken yakisoba to go.

Love this place. Portions are huge so it's great to have leftovers for lunch. Service is polite and respectful.

Super kind, fast, and great food! Spicy chicken teriyaki is decently spicy and the salad is great as usual.

Dry flavorless beef, old vegetables, overcooked rice. Over priced for the portion size.

You enter through the sushi bar; everything looked clean and we were greeted promptly. Went to the restroom to wash my hands, and I appreciate when restaurants actually have hot water in their restrooms for washing your hands. My friend ordered a Vietnamese tea and a curry with tofu. I had lemonade, edamame (which we were supposed to share), and the eggrolls. There was leftover edamame and lots of leftover curry with tofu which my friend was happy to take home with them. The eggrolls were wrapped like spring rolls, which threw off my friend who is currently choosing not to eat meat. (I grew up on the East Coast, where eggrolls are different at Asian restaurants.) The menu is extensive and we would return.

They were fresh, tasty, and priced reasonably. We tried the Soft-Shell Crab Mango Salad Roll, Golden Dragon, Rainbow, Sea Turtle, Sunshine, Samurai, Volcano, and Godzilla, basically most of their rolls. My favorite was the Volcano, surprisingly spicy and really good. The restaurant is nice and big, and they can accommodate large group reservations. Our group was 15 people. Service was good, fast, and attentive. I want to go back to try their Thai menu next time.
