Stopped into Tory Burch with Old Orchard Mall to look at watches. The store itself is well designed on the inside and I loved the displays. They had two sections of watches and staff was helpful in telling me about the sale they had going on, how they can service items in store, and making other product recommendations based on what I was gravitating toward. And then today I was on my way to get my hair highlighted (my fiance started referring to me as the two toned monster so I think it was about time) when I looked up and there you were. I got so excited that I tripped over my boots, which probably wouldn't have happened if I was wearing your oh so cute (yet comfortable) ballet flats. Extremely rude and condescending staff. Had 2 of my Tory earrings just come apart with no pressure on them, just taking them on/putting them on and took them in and they had the nerve to say they couldn't replace them for me. They could give me som credit towards new earrings that id have to buy that will probably come apart anyway. While I was waiting for the scared girl in the back room to come out, she sent two other girls to say something to me. While I was waiting, some guy came in to show how the sandles he got his wife came apart after wearing them twice and they were rude to him as well. Shoddy materials! read more

I went in expecting some uppity sales girls and was delighted when I was met with nothing but kindness and great customer service. Emma this is a shout out to you!!!!! Too many temptations in this store, so I try to stay away as much as possible. When I have come to this Tory Burch location, I've always had positive experiences with the staff here. The staff always immediately offers their assistance, and also does a great job at helping me find items that I've seen on their website. I've ordered items from the website, but I normally prefer to see items in person if possible before making a purchase. One time I came just to look for small accessories, and the sales person brought out several gorgeous pieces to pick from. The store is two levels and has a super homey feel to it. I went back to Tory Burch this weekend because I naively hoped that I had run into a bad bunch of employees during my first trip. I'm a sucker because I believe the best in people. Have you ever read Sartre's "No Exit"? Hell isn't other people, it's actually located at 45 Oak Street. Unfortunately, I would like to report that the employees are STILL rude and a waste of space. When I walked in, there were three girls standing in the little hallway - no greeting, no offer for helping me out. I stared at one girl until she acknowledged my presence. One highlight was a tall black woman in the shoe section - not only was she super nice but it sounded like she meant it! The other folks in the shoe section acknowledged me but acted as if it was a waste of time. On my way out, an African American man said "thanks for coming in" while the other two girls in the hallway continued chatting. Attention Tory Burch: your employees need training and you have too many people on staff who do nothing who you should fire and save on the overhead. Here's a tip, people are more willing to make a purchase if you're nice to them. I'm definitely sticking with online shopping from now on. First time shame on you, second time shame on me. Before Seattle was (finally!) graced with it's very own Tory Burch boutique, we had to make all TB purchases through Nordstrom or online. Luckily, I had a small vacation in Chicago coming up so I knew I had to stop by and grab a pair of reva flats for my bestie back home because not only does she love TB, but she likes collecting the the cute shopping bags from TB stores. It took a while to find the store since I'm an out-of-towner and assumed it would be on North Michigan along with everything else, but was pleasantly surprised to see those big bright doors standing out among everything else next to it off a side street. It made it all the more gem-like and made me excited to go inside. Once my friend and I walked in, the excitement faded. We weren't exactly welcomed with open arms. There were three girls working and none of them seemed particularly interested in helping us or even bringing their noses down from the upward position. It made it slightly uncomfortable for me to browse, so I just bee-lined to the shoes. I was able to find a pair that my friend wanted in her size quickly enough, and headed to the counter. The girl who I purchased the flats through seemed nice enough once we were finally ringing up the purchase but it seemed much more forced than it needed to be. Still uncomfortable. I'm happy to say that now Seattle has it's own TB, so I won't need to travel all the way to Chicago to get mediocre service. read more

Overall I had a great experience! They do get crowded and seem short staff, however, when you are finally helped the service is excellent. There was a bag I wanted at this store and since I live in the suburbs, I wasn't able to come till Saturday. Did I mention it was the last in the store? Due to policy I had to call everyday and put it on hold but 2 people watched out for it and it was there when I came Saturday to buy it! Now that is service!!!!!!! I will return to the store from now on instead of online! It's fun and gorgeous inside! =)) Hopefully your not claustrophobic because it is tiny with a bunch of mirrors lol. read more

I have died and gone to fashion heaven. I love Tory's style. It represents everything about me and my typical style. Simple, classy, yet stylish. My Tory fetish started with a pair of Revas that I purchased in the fall... that I wear to work almost everyday. I was in the neighborhood today and decided to pop into the boutique. ::: angel bells ring::: First, I have to say that I was a bit apprehensive when I walked in and was not greeted by one of the two sales people working. They were both assisting a woman with some shoes. After a few moments, the younger of the two stepped aside to say hello and tell me about the promotion that was going on. Nice recovery! She turned out to be a complete sweet heart. As for the older one... I heard some things she said to the customer... not so nice, kinda grumpy, and a bit rude. I have my eye on some denim trousers for Spring. At $169 they are fairly reasonable... compared to the prices of some designer jeans. And one day... I will own a gray Tory cardigan with those little gold logo buttons. Oh... and a fabulous tunic, too. read more

I was so excited to learn that Tory Burch had opened in Chicago. My fiance had bought me the black Reva flats for Christmas and within 6 months they had been worn out with very minimal wear. I took them to the store where they shipped them out to have them fixed free of charge. Upon picking up the shoes, I was going through the racks to look for a white dress for my Bridal Shower and the sales associate pulled a similar one I might like......this one was on sale! It turned out to be perfect. I have been back many times. I don't feel that Tory Burch has the usual pretension of the other shops on Oak street and the sales associates are always extremely helpful. read more

Horrible, horrible customer service...go to Nordstrom to buy your items. I went to their store to inquire on fixing my Tori Burch purse. They said they would contact their repair shop and get back to me the next day. They never did and I had to call them to follow up a couple days later. In the same visit, I bought a pair of sandals and they did not have my size. They did not want to send it to me via their website (which they could have easily done) because it was in their storage facility and said they would get them out to me the next day. I purchased and paid for them and almost 2 weeks later did not receive them and had to call them once again. They did not go to their storage until 1.5 weeks later and told me they could not overnight it but with no apologies. They were supposed to do that almost 2 weeks ago! read more

I went in here to check out what was new and check out their shoe selection and I felt like I couldn't relax and just look around because 4 people talked to me in less than two minutes. Tory Burch is a great store to find beautiful items! Shoes, clothes, and purses, just to name a few. I've purchased 3 bags from the particular location. All are excellent quality with an elegant touch. At the store, everyone very helpful and accommodating. I like how the store displays everything so that you can touch and see all the products. A lot of higher end stores don't allow that. The jewelry section is decent too! You can find unique statement pieces, or subtle earring to wear to work! Overall: I realize it makes me sound pretentious but.. Tory Burch shoes are THE. BEST. Service: Wonderful! I did a brief wander through the shoe section and then plopped down on the couch and waited for them to arrive. Unfortunately, 1 wasn't available in my size but the sales associate was quick to locate it at a different store and have it shipped to my house. Even though it was a holiday, it still arrived in a cute and well-packed box in record time. Atmosphere: Small, homey and comfortable. It's what you would expect for an Oak Street store. Tip: These shoes do run narrow so if you have a wider foot - they may not be the best option for you. Tip 2: I've found the styles with the elastic around the top run about a 1/2 size small. i love the new location of the TB store. More space to roam and browse and a significantly larger selection of cute and fashionable bags and accessories. I do adore TB sweaters and tunics, but wouldn't be caught dead in a them with these man shoulders of mine. Plus I am not a wearer of bright and bold colors except as an accessory. Tory loves her orange and animal prints and that is kosher with me. The staff at this store are very helpful, knowlegeable about their product and not snobbish at all! Maybe a one star rating will actually prompt this store to acknowledge my request for an exchange after the past 30 days. Made a shoe purchase in late July from the store, they shipped to my house and I clearly didn't end up with the same pair I tried on in the store. The right sandal is stretched out and defective. Immediately emailed the rep and received no response. Emailed again a week later. Nothing. Called customer care and waited 8 days to finally get an email. No idea why this is taking so long, but I simply needed an exchange. At this time, that no longer makes sense as it's not even sandal season. What a waste of time, effort and money. Errrrrrrrrrrg. That vocalization is the only one I have after stopping into Tory Burch on a weekday afternoon. The store itself on Walton is really attractive: sleek, shiny, and full of bright pinks and oranges, with mirrored glass shelves to fully showcase all their beautifully made bags. Each section of clothes is lit to showcase the use of Tory Burch's exuberant colors. The shoes have their own little cove with comfy couches for you to relax on while trying on their signature footwear. But the store is not the problem. The service is. I can't imagine that the time I chose to come to the shop for a pair of shoes I saw on the website was particularly inconvenient. But the three saleswomen I encountered during my brief visit were a combination of unenthusiastic, ignorant, haggard, unfriendly, and completely disorganized. I was totally ignored for the first 10 or 15 minutes I was in the store, even though I was standing next to the sales desk, holding a shoe. The woman made it clear in her tone and her demeanor that it was a pain in her rear-end to help me. Things were only complicated when she informed me that the store didn't have my size (a very normal size). From there, it seemed as though two women were trying to order my shoes from another store, and I couldn't get a straight answer from either of them about how long it would take for me to get my shoes. Both of them wanted my credit card information before they would even answer my questions. Tsk tsk. Also, you'd think that a a classy brand like Tory Burch would make a priority of keeping normal sizes of popular items in stock. Guess not. Also, apparently their stockroom is in the basement, and the saleswomen themselves don't go down there--they have a cordless phone to call someone to bring up EVERY PAIR of shoes anyone ever wants to try on. This can keep people waiting for quite some time, and the constant phone calls create chaos, while undermining the upscale atmosphere. There's no reason for me to visit the store again. If they didn't have a specific pair of flats I wanted, I would have left in the first 5 minutes. read more

Ok. I take it back. I love this store. After I broke my Reva's in, they quickly became my favorite shoe. I have put a lot of miles on those puppies, and they are horrendously worn out. So I went to TB and picked up a pair of their adorable ballet slippers with the bows at the top. SO CUTE. I love them. What made my shopping experience even better were the girls working there. They were not pretentious AT ALL, and showed me five pairs of shoes before I made up my mind. I'm slightly confused by the other reviews, because I walked out feeling pretty great about my purchase. The sales reps were fun, bubbly and gave me some good input. Tory's clothes are also kind of growing on me in that "weekend getaway" look. Super cute. I wish I had thought of these amazing designs before Tory Burch did. Sadly, her Oak Street store is not one of her better designs in logistics. Although this location is most convenient for me, it's more like a maze, mirrored sardine can than an upscale store, especially when there's several shoppers in the store at the same time. I arrived on a week night looking for a gift, only it was way too tight in there with the other customers bags and coats. The mirrors are deceiving, and there really is limited space when the store is even slightly packed, which TB usually is. Despite the staff being friendly and willing to help, I dragged myself to Oak Brook Mall for the much better-laid-out TB store there. read more

I specifically went to the TB boutique to purchase a birthday gift as a favor for my sister. Three associates and not even a "hello" I even picked through the merchandise and that still didn't get their attention. I finally had to interrupt the chit chatter and ask if the item I was looking to purchase was avail in stock. The response was "no" and back to the chit chatter. Since the inception I have never had an acceptable greeting from the sales persons and this precluded me from visiting this location. The only reason I did last year is because Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue where I have purchased a plethora of Tory Burch shoes and accessories was out of the Ella tote at the time of my scheduled business travel. The atmosphere and energy are still the same. What do I mean? Unprofessional, lack of customer service, stuffy, etc. This past summer when my Mom was visiting me from Florida we ventured here and she refused to purchase anything due to my above comments. We both gathered our own thoughts of why this behavior continues to occur which I will not mention in my post. I have attempted to give this location and its sales persons the benefit of the doubt on the fifth try this past weekend and the atmosphere did not sit well with me. Upon entering the store there was no formal greeting as usual. I approached a sales person with my receipt and stated to her that I had received a phone call apprising me that my Ella tote had returned from repair due to its handles peeling awfully and that it was ready for pickup. The only friendly person who spoke was a young lady who I presumed to be the store manager. A sales person finally approached me with my tote in a Tory Burch shopping bag and asked, was it the Ella tote? I couldn't believe her when I had initially verbalized this when entering the store and not to mention it was noted on the repair receipt. Once I received my tote I decided to peruse to the up stairs floor. As I entered the second level there were (2) sales persons on the floor. Neither spoke; however, one did receive a call via her techno device that I was approaching the second level and she confirmed by stating that there were (2). It was so obvious that she confirmed of my presence and another customer who was also on the second level. It's not complicated when I can read between the lines quite well and knew exactly where the blanks needed to be filled in. In my personal and professional opinion It was unreal and quite ridiculous! Not to mention disheartening. About (3) years ago I complained to Tory Burch Corporate about this same location and this has been my reasoning for not spending my monies at the Oak Street location. However, I was out shopping last Saturday and decided to check out the relatively new boutique even though I'd been up and down Michigan Ave for hours. I am so glad that I did. Okay, you can usually find me at the local vintage dive or second-hand shop loading my basket up with uber cute stuff. But last month, I received a flyer from TB on Oak regarding a sale. I had to check it out. I was surprised and walked away with a great green spring/fall jacket. The sales rep was genuine and really nice. No pretension here. I will be back for their sales. Ahh, Tory Burch... how I love you and your splurge-worthy, African-inspired clothing, purses and shoes. The problem with this boutique is just that - it's a boutique. I happen to be a rewards points whore, meaning that I prefer to rack up rewards from loyalty programs at department stores like Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus (which sell Tory's collections). If I'm going to splurge on an item from TB - like those comfy Reva ballerina flats or a chic leather tote for work - you can bet your butt I'm going to do it at a dept store that will give me some sort of return on my purchase (even if it's only a $10 off gift card the next time I spend $100). Speaking of which, Bloomie's is right down the street at 900 N. Michigan - yaaaaay! Of course, if rewards points don't matter to you and you simply love Tory Burch, you will love this boutique. I enjoy browsing here, even if the saleswomen do have the intuitive ability to sniff out a girl who isn't planning on making a purchase (and therefore will ignore me). i love tory burch flats and this store is SO fun. from the decorations to the friendly staff its a really fun experience. Its bright and happy and definitely something to be seen, even if you don't plan to do heavy shopping. the staff doesn't mind you trying things on, including the flats in every single color, and aren't snobby or rude at all. Her flats come in every color and i tried on at least 6 before i chose one and plan to go back for another pair. her sunglasses are adorable too!! and the store carries a lot more than the department stores so they have a great variety (and cuter stuff than the department stores!) read more
