Omg. I love this place. Tuesday night I was very pressed for time. Didn't make it to Torrid until 8:50. (Ten minutes before closing) Lucky I had the pleasure of meeting Patty and Patty. The two employees with the same name. They were both very friendly and helped me and my mom find exactly what we needed. Us never shipping here before we needed sobe help and that's what they did. I never felt like they were rushing us out even after the store closed. She even let my mom sign up for credit card and we got huge discount. Two bras and leggings for $37! Great deal. Seriously no greet? No follow up? Nothing. Went in and no customer service at all. I'm a store manager for a well known retail store and a simple "hello" would have made me at least want to buy something so I wouldn't ruin conversion. But I had no idea what promos we're going on untill I left the store. The girls need stop talking with eachother and help the customers who are genuinely want to purchase. I've only been to this location twice, but I've had great experiences both times. The employees were different each time. I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door. Maybe I've just been lucky, but there wasn't a crowd at all during either visit, so I didn't have fitting room problems or customer service problems like the other reviewers. I came in to exchange some items that I ordered online. Reps were knowledgeable and quick. It was easier than I expected, and all were pleasant to talk to. I actually like the way this store is set up better than the Oakridge Mall store. Better visibility of all items. So, thanks! read more

This is the closest location to me, I live in Hayward. I went in yesterday to buy clothes. I was not greeted when I walked in. I went around the whole store and not one of the four employees acknowledged anyone of the customers. I never experienced this in any Torrid I've been to. I will now shop online for this store. Bought some items online...they came extremely late! So late, I ended up having to find other clothing options due to the need to wear them at an event. Per their return policy, I took the items back to the store and the store clerk told me she wouldn't return them because they are online exclusives. This is NO WHERE in their return policy! Not a happy customer having to now pay shipping to return items. read more

I read a lot of these reviews and thought "wait, what? Did I go to the same store they did?". I went to torrid on coleman in hopes of finding a dress for a wedding. I was pretty desperate as I had no luck at previous stores. I was pleasantly surprised to find a great variety of dresses. I went a little crazy and picked out a ton of dresses to try on. I didn't wait long because there was someone attending to the fitting rooms. In the end, I couldn't decide between 3 dresses, saw that the line was a little long, had a fussy baby to attend to, so I decided to leave and sleep on it. The ladies graciously offered to put the dresses on hold, which I thought was pretty nice and took some pressure off having to make a rash decision. During my first visit, the ladies at the store were incredibly accommodating, answered all of my questions and helped me navigate the store. The next day, I went back to the store and made a few purchases. What would have been a $165 dollar purchase, came out to $55 because the nice young woman at the register gave the inside scoop on some coupons and even took $10 off for my upcoming birthday...yay! I did not see or feel anything in relation to poor customer service. I will admit, the store is understaffed, especially on the weekends, which is the cause for slower lines at the fitting rooms and register, but that's not the ladies fault. In my opinion, the staff does the best under the circumstances. I will definitely be back because the sales, staff, and clothes are great! read more

Went in for a return and Erica REALLY helped me with deals, looks, and saving money. I'm only going back because she knows how to put together outfits and wasn't pushing the sale. Finally a store that just doesn't have clothes for stick figures! The gals that helped me were so easy to talk to. They weren't pushy with trying to sell me something but when I was looking for a specific item, they were very accommodating. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Many unique items too! read more

I worked for Torrid in 2007 in the Valley Fair location for a short time. I know what Torrids values and standards were and sadly in recent years they had been lacking. I went into the new location on Coleman today and was pleasantly surpised. It was spacious, clean, organized and simple. They had the BOGO sale for all original marked items. The sales were all clearly marked. Charlotte, one of the workers greeted me, told me about the sale, complimented my top (which was from Torrid) and told me her name and offered any further assistance if I might need it. Always helpful and nice. I'm very happy they are out of the mall setting and even more excited for the energetic staff who seem to be doing a great job keeping up on the store. This store has amazing customer service. I've never been let down. Today, I had a return and they handled it with ease and opened up a second cashier with two people in line. I can't forget to mention the beautiful clothes they have here! I spent some Haute cash and got out with 5 articles of clothing for under $100! I love Torrid! It's so nice to have a place to go shopping for plus size clothing that makes me feel gorgeous! read more

I've been coming to this location several times! Recently my dog chewed my new shoes I didn't have the money on Friday when it happened. But I called everyday to make sure they had them they where super nice held the shoes until Monday! The customer service is really good! Thank you! Let's start off with "Jen" per her, she was the manager on duty 1141am Friday 10 02 2015, Colman location. What poor customer service!!!! I went to this location 2 weeks ago to purchase some clothes for my daughter. The ladies that day were great, friendly, helpful and excellent customer service. One pair of jeans she chose unfortunately we're the wrong size. My daughter walked in today to do a even exchange ( the same exact jeans just different size) I was unable to go. My daughter spoke with Jen who told her that because she didn't have the reciept with her she couldn't do the exchange. My daughter called to tell me so I called the store. I spoke with "Jen" who repeated the same info I was told. I said we're not trying to return the jeans we simply doing a even exchange. Jen was agressivly speaking over me while I was still trying to explain to her that my daughter wanted to exchange for the correct size! Instead of trying to make the experience pleasant, she told me that "I thought I made myself clear!" Who says this to a paying and loyal customer? ! I refuse to give or send business to Torrid on Coleman, and my daughter will resume to shop at the Torrid on Blossom Hill. This was my first experience with this specific location and most certainly is my last! Maybe corporate needs to service their managers on customer service and phone etiquette. If I could select 0 stars I would. **** UPDATE: My daughter took her jeans over to the Torrid location in Oakridge Mall ,they greeted her as she walked in the door, asked her right away if they could help her with anything and did, not only the exchange but allowed her to choose another item with her remaining balance. Let me clarify this was over a year ago but i finally decided others should know about my experience. The worst experience i have had shopping ever in my life. Searching high and low for the only cute bra and pants they had in my size, my husband found both by chance on the rack of things to be re hung out side of the dressing rooms. Then as he was holding them for me as i continued to shop, the woman who was clearly the manager of this location walked up to him and asked what size the 2 items were he was carrying and he answered she says "oh those are supposed to be on hold for another store" and took them rudely out of his hands. She then places the items in a bag and sets them under the counter. Ok understandable if those were supposed to be on hold, our fault. But 20 minutes later she goes on a break, grabs that very bag and takes it into the dressing room to try on those items. You hear her shouting out to her coworkers halfway through the store "ooo guuuurl this looks so goood! I wish i had money for all of it!" We looked at each other thinking there is NO WAY she has the stuff she yanked out of our hands, we have to be mistaken right? WRONG! she came out of said dressing room with the exact bra and pair of pants that she took from my husband and said they were on hold for another store. We continued to watch in shock as she put them on a hanger together with her name taped to it and said to her 2 other associates behind the counter "you KNOW they gonna hold these for me til i get my check next week" and she took them off into the back never to be seen again. If any of you are like me and can rarely find just the right fit in an item but once you do you cling to it buying that same item everytime you find it in YOUR size which RARELY EVER SEEMS TO HAPPEN, am i right? Then FINALLY finding your size only to have a rude store manager literally yank the only one(s) they have in stock from your hands to put in the back for some day when she MAY be able to afford them... I'm sorry, i need those NOW. I have money to pay for them NOW. I know my experience is unique and that this should NEVER happen and hopefully i am the only one it has happened to but can you believe the nerve? read more

So I went to two Torrid stores this particular day, second one being this location. And compared to my previous visit two hours prior at Oakridge, the customer service here absolutely sucks. I've been to this location numerous of times, and there's probably ONE time out of a handful that was actually pleasant because of a nice girl who was helping me (I wish I got her name so I could give credit where it's due) - other than that, I get snubbed pretty much every time but my visit was because it just so happens that this location was closer to me at the time. There was maybe three other women in the store, me being the fourth one to do a return. When I first came in, nobody greeted me like they had at Oakridge; would have been nice but I really don't expect it as people could be busy. When I went to the register, there were two girls who obviously worked there who were just talking. One was working the register - who was off the clock and verbally stated this to the other girl who was beside her. She then informed me that someone would be right with me as she's off the clock. I was completely fine with this, but just found it interesting how the other girl who was "on" the clock was just standing there as I was awkwardly waiting and then left to go in the back and then walked around the store. So I continue to wait. Then finally another girl (African-American) came out of the back to the register to replace the other girl I'm assuming (sorry to describe them by race, I wish they wore name tags so I can name names!). And no hi, no hello. Good thing I was aware enough that her staring at me meant she was ready to help me or else I would have had no idea. It seemed like she was pretty much annoyed that I was bothering her to do a return. There was literally no audible conversation during my return, it's almost like I was to serve her and not the other way around. Long story short, transaction was finished and still no "goodbye" or "have a nice day" or even a "thank you". I mean, I gave her my information so I'm sure she's able to see I'm a "platinum" member having had spent an obscene amount of money in the last month so I kind of expect to be treated like a human being with a hi or even a bye regardless of my status. Otherwise, how else would I feel welcome? If their attitude is driven by sales, I'm sorry I'm not dropping a grand in their store this time just to be welcomed. But I am getting my return on a giftcard to spend MORE money right? I mean knowing Torrid, a $30 giftcard is only a small portion of a future purchase. Bottomline, I can't imagine treating customers like this at my job, no matter how bad of a day I'm having because A) it's unprofessional and B) it's just downright rude whether you're on the clock or not. So although Oakridge is a journey to get to as it is located inside of a mall instead of being a stand-alone; I'd rather take my business to either online or to another location where the likelihood I'm welcomed is higher. read more

I really like the store location, now that it is not in Valley Fair anymore. The store it self is nice, but the Staff is HORRIBLE!! One of the girls, I think her name is Jen, always seems in a bad mood and is never friendly. Even when I shopped at Valley Fair she was never nice. I can't believe with all the low stars that Torrid doesn't do something about the employees at the store. I have also called a few times in search for items and they say "They do not have it in stock ", and have gone in a few hours later and guess what they did have the items! read more

The nice girl who helped me was named viviana, she was super helpful didn't give me dirty looks or make me feel uncomfortable because I looked super trashed and bummy, she didn't pressure me to spend more money and helped me save a good amount of money. I always make my purchases online unless something I really want is out of stock. I make returns at this store all the time and I've never really had a problem. I was kind of surprised that other people were having such a hard time with the return process. I've always had a good experience with the staff. They seemed very knowledgable about the clothes and where a specific item was located within the store. Only negative thing is I've had to wait longer in line then I'd like. They only have 1-2 people working the counter and the line can get backed up quickly. Asking for a dressing room can be a pain only because they are busy at the counter. They need to add more staff to the floor. Overall I'm happy with the store but I suggest ordering online in order to avoid waiting in line and waiting for a dressing room. Can be a little expensive depending on the item but they have good clearance and sales from time to time so that's when I take advantage. read more

Went here on my birthday to find something to wear and JEN was absolutely horrible. I tried asking for assistance and she gave me one word answers as if she didn't feel like assisting me. She seemed to have an attitude with me so I asked her what the deal was and she snapped, said she didn't have an attitude and ignored me for the remainder of the time I was there. When I asked for a dressing room she gave me one but didn't ask my name and never came back to ask if I was doing okay. During this time she was helping another customer and being overly nice to her, kind of like a slap in the face to me. When I was done I asked her why she treated me so differently and she said it was because she felt attacked (I was asking her for assistance that's what customers do) I told her it shouldn't change the customer service and that her acting that way was completely inappropriate. I've never had such horrible service and I intended on buying something nice for myself and she completely ruined the experience, I left with nothing and resorted to filing a formal complaint with corporate because she's one of the worst employees I have ever met at a torrid location. WHATEVER YOU DO DONT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION, GO TO OAKRIDGE WHERE EMPLOYEES HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AMAZING ATTITUDES. And Coleman location, look into evaluating your customer service, maybe terminate Jens employment and hire someone with customer service skills and charisma because Jen is definitely lacking in those categories. read more

Horrible online experience with torrid. I ordered about 139.00 worth of clothes bc they had a buy 4 get 40 percent off deal, I paid and they sent me a confirmation email. I waited a week then sent an email asking them when my items were shipping they told me it takes two days to ship. I sent an email back saying it had been a week. I was then told the system glitched and my order didn't go through They would give me ten dollars off but I had to redo all my shopping. I go to do my shopping and realize I don't have 40 percent off I email them and they say that they can give me the deal and put the order through but I need my bank to approve the order. I explain that my order is through a credit card and I am not calling for 139.00. They respond with its to prevent fraud and I told them that They could put it back in my shopping cart and I would put the order through that way. They said no bc they need to check my card. I explained that my friends order online and none of them have been asked to give up credit card information over the phone to have an online order put through. I am just shocked that they made the mistake but I am punished for their mistake and expected to jump through all these hoops. read more
