This location doesn't have very much. It seemed.... Empty? I got an abandoned warehouse kind of vibe from this Torrid store. The racks had some clothes. It just didn't have much. This is probably my least favorite Torrid location. I wouldn't come here again just because of the lack of selection. Value is there when you have Torrid cash. Love love love this store and I just found out Corporate decided to close this store in particular because they didn't want to "deal" with the rent situation. Not only is this store a great place to shop for the "New" normal size women, but in this mall, it gave curvy women a chance to feel safe to shop and not feel uncomfortable when hoping to find their size in these other stores that don't have much respect for curvy fashion. The Employees here were ALWAYS so helpful and kind. It was very disheartening to hear that not only is corporate closing this store, but they won't even be relocating these employees and now at the brink of holiday they find themselves with no job. It's a big disappointment to whatever leadership in corporate decided to do this, but it shows what kind of hospitality you show for your employees, which appears to be none. I know one phone call to corporate won't make a difference, but it felt good to express to them how stupid of a move it was to be letting this store close. read more

Torrid - This store is closing on Sunday! - Women's Clothing Near Me - Brea, California

I headed to the mall yesterday to shop at my favorite Torrid store, which I do regularly (I was just there about a month ago)... And the store was GONE. Poof. This is SOOOOO disappointing - this was the best Torrid store in Orange County. The folks that worked here were THE ABSOLUTE BEST. They were helpful and genuinely nice. They were the perfect example of what customer service should look like, and they were also just great human beings. I hope that they are ok and that they can find other work quickly. Now, my closest store is Orange and I hate that location - I will not be going there which means that Torrid has lost my $. The parking is awful and the people that work at this store have horrible attitudes. (They act like they hate their jobs and you too.) I don't know why Torrid decided to close Brea instead of Orange. I am sure that it has to do with some kind of bottom line, perhaps Brea Mall increased their rent due to the mall's recent renovations? Brea was a much better location, hands-down. I might make the drive to Cerritos to check out that location, but that requires planning for a weekend instead of the spontaneous after-work visits that I could make to Brea. This is a disservice to the plus-sized ladies of North OC. With City Chic gone from the mall (years ago), there are now no stores specifically geared towards us. Bad decision, Torrid. read more

I had an issue with my order that I placed online and shipped to store for pick-up. In short, I didn't realize I needed to pick it up within 7 days. I was notified the order was canceled so I freaked out and went to the store, in-person, to see what I could do (for context: I'm going on a trip in a few days and was counting on this order. Lesson learned! Pick up within 7 days!!!!) Anyway, ASSOCIATE MIKE IS AN ANGEL! He helped me get all my items together, with the help of Cheryl who wasn't very helpful initially but ended up saving my order, too. Distasteful customer service here. A male employee was rude. He was talking to some guys who were there (I don't think they were their buying anything because I didn't see them shopping, so they may have been friends or family of his, just talking to him). Because when I was going to the register to pay they were at the register talking to this male employee, maybe they were just flirting with him who knows. But once they seen me come behind them they stepped over to the side of the counter to allow me to pay for my purchase. So I knew they weren't paying for anything. So I was a little reluctant to hand my purchase to the male employee because they were bras and I had wanted to ask about a size but I didn't because those guys were right there next to me, at the counter all up in my business. The employee could have told his friends to step aside or that he will just talk to them lady because he is working. But no, the employee grabs my merchandise and for no reason loudly says my bra size in front of the other males and he said it in a disgraceful manner. It seemed he was I'll intended to say my bra size out loud to try and embarrass me. It was rude and unprofessional, even as I was leaving he gave me a fake smirk and cheap goodbye as if he was patronizing me. Such odd behavior for what looked like a grown man. He seemed to be trapped in a high school mindset the way he was treating me. Hopefully his work ethic has improved or that he has left this job because you don't treat your customers that way and learn to have general etiquette toward others and not try to body shame them. In the ten years that I've been shopping at Torrid, this lovely little store has given me my first really bad experience. I love Torrid, and I've been a loyal customer and supporter since the doors opened in 2000. However, this location - while beautifully updated, modern and clean - has left me with a sour taste in my mouth enough to come and Yelp about it. First of all, the Brea Mall closes at 7pm on a Saturday. What? ...Really. In the entirety of forever this is honestly the first time I've ever been to a mall that closes this early without a holiday, special event, or some kind of emergency. I would understand closing early on a Sunday, but on a Saturday? Completely unorthodox! My Mom and I had decided that we could probably make it to the Torrid to buy what I needed. We already knew what we wanted, and we went in knowing exactly what to grab. We headed in about 6.50pm, more than enough time to snag the items we wanted. I needed a belt and some jeans, it was pretty simple! I walk in, with a big smile, admiring the store's setup, cleanliness and design. The Torrid's I usually go to have the older and darker themes. I came up to the cash register to ask about the belts, and the first thing out of the woman's mouth is, "I hope you know what you're getting, ladies. We're closing soon." First of all, the gal didn't even BOTHER looking up at me. Secondly, when I asked her where the belts were, she simply gestured towards a rack and continued fiddling around with the computer she was on. Fine, whatever, I shrugged it off. I went ahead and grabbed the belt I wanted, and then I made my way over to the jean wall. I grabbed the jeans I wanted, ran over to the fitting room, made sure they were the right size and quickly walked to the cash wrap. Lo' and behold, at 7.00pm SHARP, they had CLOSED out all the registers, without giving me a forewarning or even acknowledging that I was a CUSTOMER still IN THE STORE. There were FOUR employees there, all of which did not greet me, did not help me, or even bother to apologize when I went up to pay. They all blew me off, pretending I wasn't in there. They were completely rude, disrespectful and displayed the WORST customer service I have EVER received at a Torrid establishment. I left my items on the seat, turned around and left without another word. I was so aggravated at the terribly rude and horrible service, that I rambled to my Mom all the way back to the car. I would not recommend this store, ever. read more

Crystal is the one I always happen to run in to when I get my happy ass over there. She is SO helpful and polite, and she isn't too pushy with sales, but she makes you want to buy what she suggests. Obviously, I am in love with every detail and fabric and strand of hair about this company, and this specific location in Brea. Brea is always my favorite location to come to torrid even if the one in Downey and Cerritos are closer to me. No matter what season or occasion that I am shopping for someone is there to greet me, help me, and give me a heads up on any of the sales. Very disappointed in the service we received today at the store. My wife has spent tons of money at this location and a couple of the managers even know her by name. Went in to exchange some items bought online and Morgan was not interested in helping. Because the items were purchased over 2 months ago she did not want to give the amount shown on the receipts. For 3 items that she spent almost $90 she wanted to give a store credit of $35. My wife decided not to get exchange the items and told Morgan she has never been treated so poorly in that store and that she would never be back. As we were leaving Morgan began to joke with other customers about what just happened. Not professional at all. If I was the store manager I would have fired her on the spot. read more

First of all, let me take just a second here to express my frustration with yelpers who write reviews based things that are not pertinent to a specific location but rather, to a company as a whole. Why make that location pay for comments that have nothing to do with their specific business? Yelp is to comment things like customer service and overall experience, not for you to complain that you don't like the style they carry. Go start a blog if you want to talk about your personal style for crying out loud or write to corporate if you feel the need to talk about that stuff. Yelp is meant to be based on things a store has control over. Onto things specific to this torrid location: These girls are amazing at really listening to what you are shopping for and bring suggestions that are right for you. My most recent stand out experience in this store was when Megan helped me. She was completely honest with me about how things looked and I felt like I was shopping with a friend and not a sales associate. I forget the assistant manager's name who helped me check out but she was so patient with me in searching the store high and low for the items i fell in love with online. She found most of them and happily ordered what she didn't have. As far as sizes go, this location is the best. They are the home store because they are closest to headquarters so they are always fully stocked. Attentive customer service and ladies with great fashion sense...in all the right sizes. Aside from the fabulous clothing choices, the customer service is amazing...out of another time when sales staff was trained and expected to treat customers well. They are all super helpful, polite, and just plain nice. The sales team are all very knowledgeable about women's body types and their merchandise. Every time I go there, I end up walking out with an item I would NEVER have thought to try on, but a salesperson suggested I try on because she thought it would go with my body type and look good on me. They will cheerfully and promptly bring you alternate sizes when you are in the dressing room, so you don't have to re-dress and dash out to get different sizes. This past weekend Jen and Emily helped me, and they were fabulous. I've been to a couple of other Torrid stores and while they are also nice, this branch has the best customer service, hands down. So sad to see this Torrids customer service fall so far since they moved locations. It's like they left behind helpful and kind at their previous location. Don't get me wrong, they still greet you with an annoyed roll of the eyes and perky yet empty and fake "welcomeeeee " but you get either bombarded aggressively with being followed around and told about sales even after saying your just looking, or the other extreme which is being completely ignored until you need a dressing room and your falling over clothes you're trying to carry to find someone to open it. I frequently shop at torrid, a couple times a month. It takes a fair chunk of my paycheck tbh, but the past month or 2 I'm strictly online because in store is just uncomfortable. After today, I feel like im going to have to pull back on my ordering all together. I had to go in store to return some things I had purchased online and was greeted as always with the usual empty welcome. I'm not going to name the employee i had the negative experience with, because I don't believe anyone should be fired over this, but maybe it will inspire Torrid to retrain their employees. When this particular female employee saw my bag of returns she was unenthuasiastic to say the least. Her "perky" voice immediately made me feel unwelcomed. I had every intention of exchanging most of the items, but honestly after feeling like she wanted nothing but for me to leave I decided to hurt her KPI a little. It's not in me to act like that normally but she rolled her eyes so many times at me, threw my items, sighed extremely loud several times, just an all around horrific customer service experience. THANK GOD FOR MIKEY! A slender male rep that came in to help me finish my returns. Tbh I was apprehensive to be helped by him since I felt self conscious asking a thinner person about plus size options, but he was genuine! Star employee, someone get this guy a raise! He offered me to exchange, and made me willing to change my mind a little. He told me briefly and kindly about promotions based off my style and walked me to the items he suggested. I also ended up getting a perfume and he was so willing to help me when I asked for a tester. To the woman originally "helping me" we've all had bad days and I genuinely hope that's all today was for you but the way I was treated really made me feel like this is usual behavior. I have been to other Torrid's in surrounding cities and none of them come close to this one and a huge part of that is because of it's staff. The girls that work there are welcoming, friendly, and encouraging. They aren't there to pressure you into making a sale but to help you and offer their suggestions. They have the cutest clothes and the store is just the right size. The only reason for the 4 stars is because they tend to run out of new products fairly quickly and they hardly bring the same clothes back. But other than that, this store is amazing! read more

I really really like this location. I have never had a bad experience. Today I took back a couple items that I was going to throw out because I lost so much weight that my clothes don't fit. They where so kind to let me exchange them and did everything humanly possible to find the receipt. I spent more money of course. Everytime I go into the store jess always remembers me and asks me how I'm doing and about my personal life that I've previously shared. She's very personable and she's always finding me the cutest clothes everything that she's found me pretty much I've bought . I used to come here on my breaks when I worked in Brea. Most of the time it was fine, but there was always a few of the workers trying to push clothes on me, and I always had the same responce, but they kept pushing! I only shop here for pants/shorts, and maybe a dress if it runs small, the shirts do not fit, but the workers didn't understand this! It got frustrating! The pants are great though, I have wide hips and like my pants to fit loose so I shop here. Hoever I agree with Kaela, this shop doesn't always have the best clothes for larger women, and the workers sometimes push a smaller size even though the fit isn't as good as a larger one. read more

I also like the recent remodel. The lighting inside the fitting rooms are very flattering & illuminating, there are fans inside as well.
