I've been to Hotel Lucerna in Tijuana many many times. And I've stayed at Lucerna in Mexicali. Now came Ensenada's turn. I came here with the girlfriend for a weekend getaway. We drove farther south, toward Ensenada. After an hour and a half along the toll road, we finally arrived to this fine place. Pulling up, there is valet parking, so there is no hassle in finding a parking spot. The lobby is nicely decorated, clean, and lively. There is plenty of seating, as well as a billiards table, and a fully stocked bar. Toward the back of the property, there is a pool and plenty of lounge areas. We got a room halfway up, which provided decent views of the ocean. There is some construction going on in surrounding properties, but it didn't take away from the great vibes in this place. During part of our stay, we decided to take some photos. The staff was nice enough to allow us access to the rooftop bar, which we were informed that place is only open to special events, and only with a reservation. We went up there, took plenty of great photos. The stay was overall very comfortable. We mainly had food out in town, although I did order some snacks and drinks via room service, which were on par with the same offerings at their TJ location. Hotel Lucerna in Ensenada rocks. This marks another one in my bucket list, leaving only the ones in Hermosillo and Culiacan left to visit. If you're looking for a comfortable stay in Ensenada, consider Lucerna. You won't regret it.

If you are looking for a luxury hotel to treat yourself, this is the hotel for you as it was EVERYTHING I could ever ask for and more. First, the hotel itself is STUNNING! So new and modern from the beautiful gold fixtures in the lobby, to the live pianist playing from dawn to dusk , to two on-site restaurants, large pool and fire pits and of course the beautiful Pacific Ocean in the back. What more could you ask for? But there's is much more! We booked the Deluxe Ocean View room and each room comes with a private mini patio which I loved! Our room specifically had a extra shared patio that no other rooms had which was cool! The room was spacious, clean, and has everything you need! The service and staff honestly made the entire stay awesome as they are so friendly, kind, quick, and bilingual! Anything that you need, they are sure to help you! A special shout-out to Alejandro who helped us so much during our stay! I could go on and on about this hotel but you should come stay and see it for yourself. I'm home now and I already miss my room, the staff, and all of the amazing amenities at Torre Lucerna.

Booked this 4 star hotel for our trip to Ensenada. Was a bit disappointed. The room was expensive and nothing special. The view was ok, no tub, nothing great. The service was good. Probably wouldn't return.

Hotel Torre Lucerna Cleanliness 5 Comfort 5 Location 3 (just north of town) Service 5 Friendliness 5 Fitness center 4 Pool 5 Parking 5 (underground) Price: 4 Decor 5 WiFi 5 Torre Lucerna Hotel Ensenada is a new, elegant, luxury hotel with a wonderful full breakfast buffet and restaurants, spa (additional charge), free fast WiFi, comfortable spacious rooms, and great service. A couple of the first reviewers gave a negative report as apparently the hotel worked out a few wrinkles upon opening 8 months ago. However my 5 day stay was top notch. I found the bilingual staff attentive, competent and eager to help. The room overlooking the ocean was very nice, the bed super comfortable and everything well supplied. The closet has an iron and ironing board, and a safe. The bathroom was well supplied with the customary and quality toiletries. The shower has a rain style shower head. The towels are soft, thick and well sized. The views and sunsets are spectacular. I loved listening to the waves crashing on the beach. No coffee pot nor microwave in the room. However there is room service, two restaurants and a bar on the ground floor. The hotel has an ocean view, but there is a small neighborhood of nice homes between the hotel and the beach. No actual direct beach access. Most anything you need is at the hotel. A grocery store (Soriana) is a short five minute walk away if you need something else. A shuttle or a city bus (every 15 minutes) can take you into town, a short drive away. The outdoor swimming pool is beautiful and there is a fitness center. They also offer a business center, and the free WiFi is fast. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and served till noon! The restaurants serve Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine. The lobby and indeed the entire hotel is beautifully and elegantly decorated. The garden area is gorgeous and immaculately maintained. I will mention that at the time of my stay (December 2018), there is a construction project next door which causes some noise outside during the day. However I could not hear it with the window closed. So the day I slept in late I didn't notice it until I awoke and opened the sliding glass door to the mini balcony. (The balcony is only big enough to stand on to get a good view, no balcony seating.). I would definitely stay here again.

This place is very popular, people are always coming and going. My room was actually quite large with a nice balcony facing the ocean. I had the fortune of occupying a newly renovated room. My only complaint is the amount of noise that makes its way into the room from the exterior hallway. As soon as you enter on my left by the doorway was the bedroom which had a wall and windows facing the hallway. I guess, I was fortunate because most of my neighbors were quiet and respectful. The hotel can easily solve this problem by utilizing more sound absorbing materials. The hotel's restaurant has an outstanding breakfast buffet which was the most memorable experience of my stay. It's worth staying here just for the delicious breakfast. Would I stay here again? Most definitely, the hotel's proximity and food made all of the difference. There are also trails along the ocean front which I made use of after breakfast.

That killed the appetite pretty quick. We also ordered wine but we did not ask for the price and they ended up pouring a very expensive bottle. It was good but make sure you ask because the bill was pretty high We also booked this place because paddle boarding was offered. When we went to rent the boards they said they were not renting them out. Major bummer, if I would have known I would have brought my own board Over all nice hotel but I'm not sure if I would go back

I'll list the pros and cons. Pros: Beautiful view of the marina, though they tried to give us a room, the same floor as the lobby, though I booked a sea view room. Thankfully they changed it when I spoke up. Staff speaks fluent English Spacious room (Jr suite) and a lovely balcony I loved having a coffee maker and a fridge Pretty Americanized if that's your thing and full of tourists You feel especially safe with the guard, who asks you to verify your info Restaurant on the premises though you have to pay for it Cons: VERY noisy rooms with paper thin walls You can hear everyone, alongside their kids walking in the hallway (floors are tile) The rooms are outdated and the carpet is dirty Very loud at night (the hold events at the hotel premises but the noise goes down past 11pm) Our TV was broken but thankfully the bedroom one worked. The lighting in the rooms is a bit dark and depressing. A remodel is much needed Nice hotel, but if want something more clean, up to date and quiet, this is not the one. If you desire security as your number one (most hotels tho have a guard) definitely consider this one

WARNING We bought their time share 3 years ago and are VERY…read moreSORRY we did. BEFORE we purchased it, they showed us a nice newly remodeled room with a small kitchenette area and mini sink. We live in San Diego and liked the proximity. It was our anniversary and my husband wanted to get me a nice gift. He paid nearly 20k for 2 weeks per year in a Presidential suite which supposedly sleeps ten people. They incentivized the purchase with a one X one exchange at a hotel in Valle de Guadalupe and a free weekend stay in a smaller suite. They have NEVER honored the incentives, the availability to the suite we purchased has become difficult, and the rooms we are given are not the same as we were shown before purchasing. We have complained to no avail, they promise to call to discuss but never do. The hotel has become run down even in the three years after we purchased it. The children area is dangerously neglected, the small "beach" area (there is no beach access) has become dumpy and dirty, the furniture is broken and dirty, no cushions on the sofas, the indoor pool is always full of children and teenagers, the water is cloudy, the adjacent hot tub is dirty and the bathroom inside is just NASTY always. There is an almost full size refrigerator in front of the bed in one of the bedrooms (unlike in the room we were shown) and there is usually something broken in the bathrooms when we stay there. They have obviously over sold and continued to remodel other rooms while depleting the inventory of the suite we purchased, this has affected availability. When we call, even beyond the 30 days they said would secure our (preferential due to our type of membership) place, they just tell us there is no room unless we accept whatever room they want to give us. I am Mexican and it is not pleasant to give this report. Mexico has many beautiful places and there are plenty of honest people there too.
