This place is really great compared to another place we've been when traveling. It's our go to. It's a beautiful set up in the lobby with the piano music. All the staff is pretty attentive. The food is pretty decent as well, purchase the breakfast buffet online with the reservation, it's a bit less expensive. It's also just a little drive from the port, restaurants, and shops. read more

Great hotel with a really modern and cool vibes. The lobby and restaurant were very elegant and comfortable. The hotel had a piano player in the evenings which made hanging in the lobby very cool and chill. The breakfast buffet was impressive and reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again. A beautiful hotel in Ensenada with either ocean or mountain views. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The pool and huge jacuzzi are great to cool off in and enjoy. When making a reservation - one option is to pay for the morning buffet which is fantastic. Valet parking or "self parking is free". Location: Hotel is about a 10 minute drive into the heart of Ensenada. The less expensive "Superior Rooms" do not have a small refrigerator (mini bar) and are on the lower floors. Some Deluxe Rooms have patios but are also in the lower floors. Premium Rooms are a nice choice and the Loft Rooms are fantastic. Hotel lobby is gorgeous and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday they have a piano player which is beautiful all around. Weekend brunch is amazing as well. A pleasant stay for sure. Medical Pass (fast pass) cost $50 to cross over into the USA available at the front desk. read more

I've been to Hotel Lucerna in Tijuana many many times. And I've stayed at Lucerna in Mexicali. Now came Ensenada's turn. I came here with the girlfriend for a weekend getaway. We drove farther south, toward Ensenada. After an hour and a half along the toll road, we finally arrived to this fine place. Pulling up, there is valet parking, so there is no hassle in finding a parking spot. The lobby is nicely decorated, clean, and lively. There is plenty of seating, as well as a billiards table, and a fully stocked bar. Toward the back of the property, there is a pool and plenty of lounge areas. We got a room halfway up, which provided decent views of the ocean. There is some construction going on in surrounding properties, but it didn't take away from the great vibes in this place. During part of our stay, we decided to take some photos. The staff was nice enough to allow us access to the rooftop bar, which we were informed that place is only open to special events, and only with a reservation. We went up there, took plenty of great photos. The stay was overall very comfortable. We mainly had food out in town, although I did order some snacks and drinks via room service, which were on par with the same offerings at their TJ location. Hotel Lucerna in Ensenada rocks. This marks another one in my bucket list, leaving only the ones in Hermosillo and Culiacan left to visit. If you're looking for a comfortable stay in Ensenada, consider Lucerna. If you are looking for a luxury hotel to treat yourself, this is the hotel for you as it was EVERYTHING I could ever ask for and more. First, the hotel itself is STUNNING! So new and modern from the beautiful gold fixtures in the lobby, to the live pianist playing from dawn to dusk , to two on-site restaurants, large pool and fire pits and of course the beautiful Pacific Ocean in the back. What more could you ask for? But there's is much more! We booked the Deluxe Ocean View room and each room comes with a private mini patio which I loved! Our room specifically had a extra shared patio that no other rooms had which was cool! The room was spacious, clean, and has everything you need! The service and staff honestly made the entire stay awesome as they are so friendly, kind, quick, and bilingual! Anything that you need, they are sure to help you! A special shout-out to Alejandro who helped us so much during our stay! I could go on and on about this hotel but you should come stay and see it for yourself. I'm home now and I already miss my room, the staff, and all of the amazing amenities at Torre Lucerna. read more

The hotel responded in Spanish to my review, but it is as if the response is boiler plate and not at all related to what I said. my impressions still stand that they tried to price gouge and take advantage of US citizens and towards us their responsiveness was very poor. Booked this hotel recently for a weekend trip to Ensenada/Guadalupe from San Diego. This hotel has top-notch service, and not just in Mexico, ANYWHERE. They are so accommodating and professional. Their service is great, whether you're at the front desk, their restaurants, picking up your car at the valet, walking around the hotel, etc. They have free parking with valet service. We arrived and they quickly assisted us in putting our luggage onto a bellmen cart while waiting for us to check-in at the front desk. After checking in, they accompany you upstairs to bring your stuff into your room. Their elevator requires you to tap your room card for it to work - a great extra security precaution. However, the resort felt extremely safe and we never had an issue roaming the hotel. They constantly have a pianist in the lobby which provided a relaxing environment, and they have a convenient bar open throughout the day if you're looking to drink at the pool or around the hotel. I highly recommend the breakfast package deal! I couldn't find many reviews when booking and took the risk, knowing an extra ~$12/person/night was no biggie even if it was a simple continental breakfast. Turns out, it's a luxurious breakfast buffet. They have pre-made hot foods, a made to order station for eggs, pancakes, and other hot breakfast foods, soups (loved their menudo), pastries, juices, fresh fruits, nuts, yogurts... On the second day (Sun morning), they even had a taco station and a cold bar with oysters and shrimp ceviche! So good and so worth paying a little extra for the breakfast package, although you can always pay individually if your room didn't include it. Believe it's around ~$15 if you pay at the restaurant which is still a great price. Pool was open (April 2021) and there were a decent amount of people outside by the pool or sitting out at their fire pits which they turn on at night. We didn't eat at their hotel restaurant but there were a couple walkable restaurants in the area. We went to Parrilla 107 (bar food/ beer brewery) one night which was about a 5 minute walk. Other times, their valet service is fast and will bring your car out if you're looking to drive to Downtown Ensenada or other areas for food. I docked one star because of the walls... they are paper thin. The first night, we were placed next to a room of girls who pre-gamed with extremely loud music until 10PM and then returned to their rooms at 4AM and continued banging music, slamming doors, talking very loudly... We could hear everything, from a shoe dropping onto the floor to the lyrics of their songs. It drove us crazy when we were looking for a quiet place to relax and de-stress. We called front desk at 4AM and they did send security up which shut off the music but it was still very unfortunate we had to be woken up in the first place. The next morning, we asked to change rooms but they stated they were "100% booked" but confirmed the group of girls were checking out that day. We're not sure if anyone checked in the next day but it was a lot quieter so we had a better night of rest the second day. If you're looking for a luxury resort in Ensenada, look no further. I highly recommend and think the service I received here has been the best I've ever had (including from SD to around the world). Be aware they do have thin walls so bring ear plugs and/or call the front desk to have them send security up. Hotel has a convenient bar, two restaurants, and a fantastic breakfast that you can purchase on most booking websites as part of your room deal. Free parking with valet, convenient location about ~10 minutes from Downtown Ensenada and lots of restaurants going both directions, and approximately ~30 minutes from Valle de Guadalupe if you're looking to go to the wineries. Great place and would come back next time we're in Ensenada! read more

I found the bilingual staff attentive, competent and eager to help. The room overlooking the ocean was very nice, the bed super comfortable and everything well supplied. The closet has an iron and ironing board, and a safe. The bathroom was well supplied with the customary and quality toiletries. The shower has a rain style shower head. The towels are soft, thick and well sized. The views and sunsets are spectacular. I loved listening to the waves crashing on the beach. No coffee pot nor microwave in the room. However there is room service, two restaurants and a bar on the ground floor. The hotel has an ocean view, but there is a small neighborhood of nice homes between the hotel and the beach. No actual direct beach access. Most anything you need is at the hotel. A grocery store (Soriana) is a short five minute walk away if you need something else. A shuttle or a city bus (every 15 minutes) can take you into town, a short drive away. The outdoor swimming pool is beautiful and there is a fitness center. They also offer a business center, and the free WiFi is fast. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and served till noon! The restaurants serve Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine. The lobby and indeed the entire hotel is beautifully and elegantly decorated. The garden area is gorgeous and immaculately maintained. I will mention that at the time of my stay (December 2018), there is a construction project next door which causes some noise outside during the day. However I could not hear it with the window closed. So the day I slept in late I didn't notice it until I awoke and opened the sliding glass door to the mini balcony. (The balcony is only big enough to stand on to get a good view, no balcony seating.). I would definitely stay here again. read more

Front desk at check in was horrible, ruined my whole experience with my family. I show up at the hotel 130pm with my wife and a 4 months baby, I asked if I could do a early check in as we had a baby with us and we need to change diapers, feed her and change her clothes. She said no, only at 3 pm as the hotel was full capacity( but when I arrived I had asked the valet guy if the hotel was full and he told me they were only 30% capacity). The whole hotel was empty, she made me seat at the lobby until 3pm. My wife had to change diapers and feed our baby in the middle of the lobby.... They didn't care at all... I even offer to pay an extra fee for an hour early check in and she said no... I asked for a manager and she said that manager was not available... read more

This place used to be very well ran but as of lately they have less staff and the hospitality feels lost. During breakfast we asked a few different waiters (apart from ours) for small things like water, or extra milk for our coffee and it seems like the waiters refuse to help each other or other tables. A few of the waiters we had come to know and liked have left the establishment and certain things they offered before they no longer offer. We used to come here for the raw fish dishes like the tiradito, which they no longer have. I can't speak for the rooms because we have never stayed here but we have been coming for dinner and breakfast for a few years and the experience has drastically changed. The hotel is nice and the rooms on the west side have a good view of Ensenada Bay. The restaurant is quite good and a catered dinner for a business meeting was top quality. The hotel staff is very friendly and earger to be assistance, with the exception of the front desk staff. The outdoor balcony patio for my Room #130 had a significant accumulation of pigeon poop and I really was hesitant to walk out on it to enjoy the sunset view. The front desk refused to move me and never sent anyone to clean up the mess. There seemed to be six or so pigeons resident in the eves of the patio roof and the accumulation of poop suggests they have been there for a while. I am surprised that the hotel has not dealt with this problem. read more

Saturnino was the best employee. Very attentive during the breakfast buffet and when working my friend's wedding reception. Room service took 1 HOUR LITERALLY for 1 banana, a Diet Coke, croissant, grilled chicken breast, and a fresh spinach, pineapple, and cucumber juice. This was for the bride. Tried to talk to the manager but got the run around, they basically explained that they couldn't cancel the order after one hour because it was already in the process of being made. I didn't keep my credit card on file so denied the room service when they finally brought it up. I had already went downstairs to grab a banana, croissant, and Diet Coke from the little bistro in the corner. Room service definitely needs more attentive staff. read more

This hotel was very beautiful. I booked it without knowing how beautiful it was going to be. No offense but I have booked hotels that look way nicer in photos than they really are. We had such a wonderful stay here. I think they had some event going on because there was a gentleman playing piano so beautifully. The only think I would say is, one of the days my cousins and I decided to take the stairs and we heard a woman crying out for her kids (all 5 of us heard it!) we all tan like the wind and are still convinced la llorona was in the hotel. We told someone from the staff and he just laughed at us (as would I) but it was real! Anyway nice place but I kinda don't want to go back cause that was creepy. read more

Will never be back. Came here with my family. Check in was at 3pm, my daughters were looking forward to the pool, and we didn't get our room until past 6 pm. At no time did any of the staff come down and try to make the situation better, they could have offered free drinks or appetizers for us, but nothing. The rooms had missing electrical outlet covers. The bathroom had residue from the tile work, there was drywall dust on the corners of the rooms. The TV was not set up and staff had to interrupt us once we finally got our rooms to set up the TV. After a brief trip to the pool, we came down to the lobby to have dinner. We ordered, and 45 minutes later still had no food. By that time my 4 yr old daughter had fallen asleep in my arms. I got up, cancelled our order and went up to the room to fall asleep with an empty stomach. Then at 10 pm we had staff try to open our room door without knocking!!! They were coming up to hook up the room telephone at 10 pm. What a joke! We sent them away. The next morning I came down from our room to try and get some drinks for us and take them back up to our room, and the bar was closed. On a Sunday / 5 de Mayo weekend. That's what people do in Mexico! They drink!!! But not here. There no small convince store here either like most hotels in Baja have. So if you forget your toothbrush, toothpaste, or if you want to buy snacks for your room.. tough luck. You'll have to drive into town and get that stuff at a 7-11 like we did. There's also no beach access here. It's near a marina, with a neighborhood between the hotel and the marina. The best part about this trip is that we only stayed here for 1 night. This review is to provide hotel Lucerna opportunity to improve on service for amount of money we are paying a night, should be better service. Beautiful lobby and outdoor patio seating in front of the pool. 1.There were too many small children in Jacuzzi, jacuzzi water was dirty and cloudy jacuzzi jets were broken no bubbles 2. pool water was a very cold not heated 3. Not enough waiters in outside pool area. We ordered ice several times from different waiters for our ice chest finally the security Gaurd brought it to us. 4. Room service was great delivered food hot quick and tasty club Lucerna sandwich came w/fries 5. Valet service for vehicle was great service was fast 6. piano player in the lobby was excellent! 7. Hotel room was clean and comfortable mattress. 8. No ice machine on any floor if you want ice you need to call front desk and request them to bring to your room. I think this hotel was so beautiful. It looks very modern, you walk in it's huge. I really like how they have their parking underground. To get into the parking structure you must pass through and give your room number. I really liked this because it assured me a bit that my belongings and my car would be safe. My husband and I came in and stayed at the romantic suite. This was our late late honeymoon. Since we got married at the beginning of COVID we decided it was time to treat ourselves and relax. The reason I am not giving the place full stars is the customer service. Unfortunately, the lady in the front checking us in, forgot to get her name, can me a bit rude. The check in just did not feel welcoming. On our first and only night we ordered room service. We had never ordered room service anywhere. Our food took over an hour to arrive, not sure if this is how long waiting is. But I think this is such a long time to wait for a coke and a burger. I would not order room service again. Other than that the gentleman at the pool getting us drinks was very polite and brought drinks fast. I wish I could have gotten his name but he was nice. Horrible check in with Ana Luisa (who was extremely rude) I arrived at 2:50pm and she was on the phone, ignoring me and asked me to return at 3:00pm during check in time (10 minutes away) Check out the pictures below. We fist checked into our hotel room and it was dirty and nor well maintained. We found hair and dirt on the carpet (see pictures) then we moved to another room and it was worst. The room had beds that weren't comfortable and broken. This hotel was beautiful when it first opened. Now they have staff that doesn't care and the property is poorly maintained. So I booked this hotel for a quick getaway for my wife and I along with my in-laws to go wine tasting. The photos looked great and the fact that it was only a year old was a huge plus for us. Upon check in, we were told that we were all on separate floor although during the reservation process we were extremely clear that we needed to be on the same floor. Mind you, we reserved our room over a month in advance to make sure this was doable. We were told that they were completely booked for the weekend and there was nothing they could do. We can to terms that we would all be on separate floors. We then proceeded to our rooms, first stop was my in-laws room and to our surprise, they had provided the incorrect room. We had reserved Deluxe room, 1 king bed, ocean view and we got a Mountain View room. We were told by the receptionist that Expedia had sent the reservation incorrectly. I didn't believe her but she would not show me how Expedia sent the reservation. Once again, we were told they were completely booked and there was nothing they could do. During checkout, I was provided the Expedia reservation and Expedia had it down correctly! Deluxe king bed ocean view room. So they not only overbooked certain rooms and didn't care to downgrade the guest upon check in. But they also lie to you and blame it on Expedia!! We then headed to our room and upon arrival, we noticed they gave us an incorrect room as well. They gave us an ocean view room but it was with two twin beds and not a king bed as reserved. We went back down and we were told that they were booked and there was nothing they could do. They provided a slight discount on nightly rate and included breakfast for my stay. While I thank them for doing something to accommodate, it ruined my trip. A. If it was about money, I would've booked the less expensive room to begin with. B. I don't go to a different country to eat breakfast in a hotel, I want to experience the authentic culture. So I wouldn't be using the hotel breakfast voucher. At this point we thought that an upgrade was in order but they said we would've have to pay an extra $400 per night per room. They made us feel like we were begging. It was extremely insulting and they would not allow us to leave without losing one night stay deposit. Moving forward.. the walls are paper thin and could hear everything from the next room over. Talking, snoring, bathroom,... EVERYTHING! If that wasn't bad enough, there is construction right next door and they begin at around 3:30am.. at least that when I began to hear it. If that wasn't bad enough, at about 6:30am you will hear the hotel staff start DRAGGING patio furniture around with no care for sleeping guest. So if you're planning to sleep at all, do not get an ocean view room. The hotel is really ran down for only being a year old.. grout in room is really filthy, drywall falling off in the hallway. If you decide to stay here, you will see what I am talking about. For the most part, the staff was courteous, specially Bernie, if you do stay here, look for him. He's usually helping guest with their luggage up to their rooms. There is a coffee bar in the lobby that doesn't open until 7am. I had an experience were my watch said 7am and I was refused service because their clock said 6:58am. I couldn't believe that those two minutes were the difference between being served and not. This coffee bar was disgusting because they keep all their pastries in open air and it is no further than 30 ft from the front entrance. Whatever is not sold is will be put out the following day. It safe to say that I will never return to this hotel. I'm sure there are typos or a run on sentence or two. My apologies. read more

Had an amazing experience here for our 10 day stay! The front desk staff was kind at check in, although when we checked in they told us they would upgrade the room because they didn't know if the room we had booked was clean but at the last minute they took it back - so that was a little annoying. The food at the restaurant that's open every day was alright as some entrees lacked flavor, but the service from certain servers was great! Super attentive. I will say that their Sunday brunch was 10x better than the food they serve during the week. I definitely recommend going to the seafood restaurant which is only open Thursday - Saturday as their food was way better! Go and try their Spicy Tuna sushi!! So flavorful! I also recommend that because this hotel is close to downtown, going to downtown Ensenada and walking around and trying some of the street fish tacos!! Shout out to Maritza in housekeeping who was so kind every day and always asked if we needed anything (towels, water)!! I will definitely be coming back here! read more

We booked this hotel with family( my wife and I and some family) . We wanted to go visit the wine country during our 3 day stay and this hotel was really nice and a very convenient location. 5 minute drive to downtown Ensenada and a 20 minute inland drive to Valle de Guadalupe (wine country) Pros: The location was really nice . Very new hotel, I think it was only a year old. Rooms and bed were very nice as Well. Cons: We decided to sit in the back with family by a fire pit. We were hungry and tired the first day so instead of going out we decided to eat and order drinks and the hotel. I'm hoping it was a off night but it was the SLOWEST service. Drinks arrived 1/2 hr later and food almost a hour later. The bar was literally only 50 feet away. It was also a very lonely Monday night so it was not a busy night. The coffee bar and little store is super super expensive. Anytime you wanted something you needed to get up from your chair and flag a waiter or some employee. They never took initiative to come up to us. Customer service needs improvement. I really see the potential to improve. Jacuzzi by the pool was cold so we asked the staff if the could turn on the heater. The maintenance guy took forever to come and when he did he touched the water and left and didn't say a word to us. It was never heated. Very displeased. I really liked the hotel but I wasn't impressed with the service. Before I would even consider staying here again I will look somewhere else first . When we arrived it was obvious the room had not been cleaned in a long time, as dust was ACCUMULATED EVERYWHERE! Thick too. The floors had not been cleaned, spots of dirt were visible. I made the mistake of allowing my 1 year old walk abound, he literally was BLACK BECAUSE OF THE FILTH. Totally unacceptable. After 10min in the room we demanded a refund and left! Do not waste your time or money $230+ per night (dollars) NOT WORTH it. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED. In addition- I paid extra to have a luxurious ocean view suite and we could not even go onto the balcony because they permanently locked the balcony doors. Again soo disappointed. read more

We stayed 4 nights and could not be happier with the experience. We recommend it highly, especially for those who are visiting the Valle de Guadalupe wine country. I had a terrible experience!! We stayed this Friday the 1st of April for our anniversary. We got woken up at 4am first by 2 knocks on the door then someone keys into our room. My husband jumped out of bed and says who's there..the person shuts the door and leaves. It scared the crap out of us. We called the receptionist and she said that we didn't have a credit card on file and they couldn't charge us for the 2 drinks we had at the bar like at 630pm that evening. Really? Your going to come and not just knock at 4am but actually enter our room for 20 bucks?? They had our cell number and they had our room number..why didn't they let us know by phone at a reasonable time? When you check out couldn't of they taken care of it then? This was super shady..I tried speaking with a manager during check out but I guess they were too busy! Oh but they said they won't charge us the 20 dollar bar bill! That's garbage. The stay at Torre Lucerna Hotel was beyond my expectations. Luxury hotel at a economical price! You will not be disappointed. Very clean rooms with beautiful views of the ocean (literally steps away). The hotel is new. I'd love to return to this hotel. & the staff are nice. read more

It definitely is pricey, but the rooms are nice (mine didn't have a nice view though), and the lobby is huge and nice. There was a person playing the piano live, which was awesome. Drink prices are good. Some waiters aren't great while others compensate for them. Restrooms look nice and mostly clean, but no ventilation in toilet area (lobby restrooms) so it feels suffocating. read more
