We had a great time at this resort. We looked at their museum and the woman that worked there was incredibly informative. All of the staff were very friendly. Our room had a great view of the ocean, the rooms were large and comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi were great, the whole location was very well taken care of. I brought my paddleboard with me and cruised around in the bay. All around it was a great trip. My uncle is the one that brought us all because he likes to stay here and fish, I will definitely be coming back to visit again.

A breezy day looking out at the island from the restaurant.

We've been coming here for 5-6 years. As had been said by many reviewers, it's quiet and safe and the views of the estuary and the private beach are amazing. The sand is so soft and the sunsets rival any ocean sunset you've seen. There has been a major renovation and upgrading in the last few years. The grounds and buildings are well cared for. It's very clean. The restaurant has amazing views from everywhere and the wait staff is plentiful. We've never had anything but top notch service. Bring your fishing pole. It left such an impression on us that we actually bought a house here after the last visit. Mexico perpetual dream vacation come true.

First time here....came with an off-roading group. Love the security gates, Love the views. The price is affordable and the rooms are decent. Needs a little upgrading but not too bad. Will most definitely plan another trip here.

Very quite and secluded. 24 hour security at gate is a plus. Customer service needs improvement and prices are the same as Los Angeles.

Such an amazing resort and weekend get away. The staff was amazing, they were very attentive and went out of there way for us. The food and drinks from the restaurant and bar were great and fairly well priced especially for the large portions. Room service was the same menu as the restaurant and was super fast. The pool area was so nice with an ocean view, plenty of seating, and swim up bar. Will definitely be going back soon!

Local friends brought me here for a "nicer" buffet brunch. Let the attendant at the gate know that you are going to the restaurant and they'll direct you to the correct parking area. The restaurant is beautifully located by the water. Brunch will run you about $12USD/person. They take credit card, but bring some cash to tip at the table. Our party of 5 was seated right away. The servers were efficient in filling waters and coffee. There was live music. I enjoyed the chilequiles, fresh fruit, stuffed French toast and cafe de olla.

I have been coming here since I was a little kid. I just visited again a couple months ago while on a road trip. Didn't stay here this time as we were camping out in casa de Tacoma truck bed. We did eat at the restaurant and also used their "private" beach. It was super beautiful and relaxing. There was no one at that spot for hours! Time to get a REAL tan heehee. You can also go horseback riding and rent jetskis. The restaurant is awesome and surprisingly under priced for a resort! I will continue to come here.

The Resort is great for the price, but we had a horrible experience between making reservations online and at check-in. As soon as our card was charged, mysterious fraudulent charges from multiple traveling agencies, flights reservations and even Amazon Prime payment appeared on our credit card. A big red flag was at check-In when they had to swipe our card multiple times, supposedly, because there was a connection error. Almost $1,000 charged. What is worst, even though we complaint and ask to speak to the manager, that was "not available at the time"... the manager never reached out to us. Be careful when using their online reservation page and at check in.

The Spanish word estero relates to the English word estuary, which is a tidal channel inlet. Estero beach is aptly named because it is at the estuary of the magnificent Todos Santos Bahia (All Saints Bay) of Ensenada (pop. 250,000). Built in the 1950's, this huge resort has a dramatic view of the bay, which in itself is worth a visit. I didn't plan to write a review, or I would have taken some "Yelp" pictures in addition to our personal pictures. We just wanted to check out this famous resort for a possible future stay and to satisfy wanderlust. But when I discovered that no Yelper has boldly gone before, I thought I should do a good First Review (ta-daaa!). To reach the resort from Ensenada Centro, you take Reforma / Highway 1 south for 6 miles (10 km) and you will pass the El Cipres military base on the right side of the road. Go another 2 miles and pass the AM/PM PEMEX gas station and on the right and you will turn right at the next traffic light, at Lazaro Cardenas street. There's a little green sign saying Estero Beach. You go through this rundown section of town (reminds me of Imperial Beach, CA) to the end of the street, then you turn left on Lupita Novelo street which takes you to the guard gate at the resort entrance. Although the resort is gated with 24-hour security, your apprehension from the area will remain as you see the lesser side of the resort, which frankly looks a little neglected like a tradesman's entrance. Go through the second guard gate and the resort buildings are on the left. Estero Beach Resort has a southern Mexico Yucatan - Riviera Maya theme, with the buildings named for places like Maya, Tikal, Palenque, Uxmal and Akumal. You'll also see the museum of Mayan and Aztec artifacts (which we will be sure to visit next time). It looks like the lobby and check-in is in the building on the right of the second guard gate, which is separate from the residential buildings. The pool area is a showcase! Palm trees, a lovely big pool with a swim-up bar, two spas and a snack bar. All with a dramatic view of the bay. I believe the pool is only heated when the number of guests justify it. We came in the late afternoon and the two large spas were crowded; the next morning the spas were cold and of course empty, which was a shame cause we were going to partake like naughty teenagers. I hear that cruise ship people come on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and the pool and swim-up bar are working. Live entertainment sometimes. The bay side has a magnificent boardwalk past the small private beach to the magnificent Playa Ensenada which stretches almost 12 miles (15 km) to Ensenada. The estuary has a large sandbar where seals come to play. The restaurant patio of course has the great view. I hear the Sunday brunch is very good for about $13, and with a crepe station and omelet station. You can go for a great ocean beach walk and the grounds have beautiful mature landscaping. Locals are fishing along the shore. Amenities include tennis courts and table tennis (rent rackets and balls), jet skis, kayaks and bike rentals ($10 per hour). I wonder what the jet skis cost as the protected bay is ideal. Sometimes beach horse rides are available. The room choices are Ocean View, Pool View and Parking Lot View (haha). We checked out some rooms from outside. They looked spacious and rustic. Usually two queen size beds and a 21-inch cable TV. The bathrooms have a shower-bathtub and there is a vanity area. There is a fridge and some have a kitchenette. You can get a good room for less than $100, which is great value. In the U.S you would pay 3 or 4 times the price. Check out the multi-night packages with dinner or breakfast. Estero Resort is adequate for a family pool vacation or a romantic getaway on a budget. You can also pay $500 per night for an Uxmal Suite or an Akumal Suite. Looks like some renovations in progress!

This place is very popular, people are always coming and going. My room was actually quite large with a nice balcony facing the ocean. I had the fortune of occupying a newly renovated room. My only complaint is the amount of noise that makes its way into the room from the exterior hallway. As soon as you enter on my left by the doorway was the bedroom which had a wall and windows facing the hallway. I guess, I was fortunate because most of my neighbors were quiet and respectful. The hotel can easily solve this problem by utilizing more sound absorbing materials. The hotel's restaurant has an outstanding breakfast buffet which was the most memorable experience of my stay. It's worth staying here just for the delicious breakfast. Would I stay here again? Most definitely, the hotel's proximity and food made all of the difference. There are also trails along the ocean front which I made use of after breakfast.

That killed the appetite pretty quick. We also ordered wine but we did not ask for the price and they ended up pouring a very expensive bottle. Overall, everyone was friendly. They are pet friendly as well. The bar and restaurant were awesome. The service was terrific, especially considering my pathetic Spanish. The local wines are delicious and anything you order with fish was very fresh. My favorite was the shrimp ceviche tostadas which were out of this world and I ate them every day. There was live music at night, they were mostly playing old American tunes which was kind of funny with the Spanish accents, but the bands were very talented. Overall, our stay was nice, but considering price and location, we will likely explore other options on our next trip.
