This hotel is right in front of the water. It has a tiny beach and in a well-maintained neighborhood. The pool and restaurant area are great with a very nice view of the ocean. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean also. The room itself could use some improvement. The bathroom has very minimal amenities so I suggest you brnging your personal care stuff like shampoo, soap, lotion, etc. No fridge in the room. Bedsheets/pillow looked a bit old as well. I like my pillows fluffy and these weren't. 3 stars for the location and Sunday morning buffet. They had a variety of thing and their chilaquiles were very good. read more

Let me start by saying don't let the map view fool you. This hotel is on large, expansive grounds that are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. It's on the water and has it's own very tiny beach. They provide an opportunity to jet ski, kayak or just lay about with a drink in your hand. There are several tiers of rooms here and you truly get what you pay for. If you reserve a cheap room next to the parking lot, you will get one that's moderately decorated, with no WiFi access, thin walls and a greater noise level. If you pay more and get a poolside room, your room is well decorated, thicker walls, WiFi access and limited noise. The staff here speaks moderate English and the guests were mostly Mexican. Overall, everyone was friendly. They are pet friendly as well. The bar and restaurant were awesome. The service was terrific, especially considering my pathetic Spanish. The local wines are delicious and anything you order with fish was very fresh. My favorite was the shrimp ceviche tostadas which were out of this world and I ate them every day. There was live music at night, they were mostly playing old American tunes which was kind of funny with the Spanish accents, but the bands were very talented. Overall, our stay was nice, but considering price and location, we will likely explore other options on our next trip. read more

I came here twice on a class trip with Professor Wells for a Marine Biology course and the hotel was kind enough to allow us to use their facilities at a discounted price. The service is top notch. They will go out of the way to make you feel welcomed. The little things in life put a smile on my face and just a "morning" as I take a leisurely stroll in the morning has quite a good feeling attached to it. Most of the visible staff are fluent in English so that's a bonus. Didn't stop me from trying to take my terrible 3 years of Spanish and try to put it to good use though I won't sugar coat the fact that you won't get the true local feel of the city through their hotel food. Of course that's not to say it isn't delicious, it's just that its price feels as if I was still in the states. If it's one thing you got to try though is their shrimp cocktail. It's simply mind blowing. I swear that may have been the reason I came back again. Their drinks won't blow a hole in your pocket either if you're looking for a quick fix. Their property is right on the beach front but in terms of pretty sandy beaches that you can lie around this is not that kind. There are periods of low and high tides that completely vacates the ocean front of water and it allows you to do a bit of exploring on what is the ocean bed. But there is a pool with two jacuzzis that look over the Estero. Also the wifi is free but do be warned it is VERY spotty. I think at one point half of my class was huddled around this one beach chair because for some reason we only got signal there. But hey we're there for class (and relax ofc) and we need to really disconnect ourselves from all the hectic things going around us. read more

Let me start off by saying this was my first time staying in a hotel in Ensenada, MX. Prior to this stay, I have only visited the city during the day while on a cruise. I have nothing to compare this hotel to other than American hotels so my standards may be a bit higher. My boyfriend and I stayed here over night. It was $100/night US dollars. Our stay was good and the amenities were considered 4 star in MX. I would consider our room similar to a Holiday Inn. it was clean but the decor was a bit dated. Our room (218) had carpet and was not like the ones pictured online with tile flooring. The beds were comfortable enough although they had very thin sheets and a thin fuzzy blanket. I must say the AC unit was very strong and just the way I like it! Another plus is there was a vanity area outside of the bathroom, perfect for doing your hair and makeup ladies! The balcony with two lounge chairs is a nice plus. The hotel restaurant was okay. I felt the food was lacking in flavor and a bit overpriced (as expected for a hotel restaurant). $60 for 2 fajita plates, 1 small shrimp tostada, 1 shrimp ceviche and 1 queso blanco appetizer. The service was great but I would not come back here as there is better food outside of the property. My boyfriend got a chicken fajita plate and I got a shrimp tostada. My boyfriend who is Mexican is used to very flavorful food said everything was bland and I agreed. We added lots of lime and salt on everything to try and make it tastier. I would say this restaurant is catered to foreign guests very middle of the road flavors. The hotel had a mix of guests, mostly families but some younger groups. Everyone was very friendly and were having a great time. I would stay here again but next time, I would try to upgrade the room to a suite or poolside room for better in-room amenities. To Whom It May Concern:   I recently completed a stay at your hotel from 2/26/16 to 2/28/16. I am extremely disappointed in the way the hotel is being run, the poor service and the lack of communication regarding the construction. I was never told about the construction and was not told of the noise, dust and parking issues. Our stay was further deteriorated by the upstairs people above our room. When we called to complain the noise only got louder. When trying to call the front desk. no one answered. The noise and stomping above us continued our entire stay. When I was preparing to leave on the 28th, I was confronted by a security guard asking me where I was going. It was apparent that I was staying at the hotel. When I returned to my car with my luggage, the same security person asked me what room number I was in and stood and stared at me while I was loading my luggage. When I went to check out, I told the lady at the front desk the issues in English and Spanish. I also asked for the phone number of the general manager and she just stared at me and said that was too bad. I am sadly disappointed at the way you run this hotel now. Had an amazing time at this Hotel! We visited as a family of 15 and were so happy with the entire visit. From the staff, to the huge rooms with ocean views, to the amenities. It was our first time there and definitely not our last! Its very close to restaurants, taco spots, grocery stores and gas stations. About a 5 min drive to dt ensenada where we enjoyed some of their nightlife:) Has two huge jacuzzi's where we spent most of our days with a nice cocktail in hand read more

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend, took us FOREVER to drive down to LA... I didn't realize this when I first booked the hotel but it's actually quite a distance from the main Ensenada downtown area. Takes about 15-20min driving and costs $10-20 dollars taxi depending on how much of a foreigner you are. I was hoping we could just walk into town and explore all the food stands and restaurants but you need more precise planning for this to plan from Estero Beach. The hotel itself sits on a huge area of land, with ocean views from the pool and restaurants and select rooms which definitely is a huge plus. The grounds itself was nicely maintained but the rooms (yes we got the cheapest) was very very outdated. Think curved screen TVs, tiled bathrooms, old decor. Despite the travel back in time, it was sufficiently clean and comfortable to rest in. I hope if you're down here, you won't be spending too much time in the hotel room anyways. The crowd is a mix of young couples, older couples, bachelor parties and families. There is a small private beach which I didn't go to where you can rent jetskis. But aside from that and the pool, there isn't much to do near the hotel. We only had breakfast at the restaurant and it was OK, omelets, scrambles, american style breakfasts entrees etc. At least the prices were suprisingly reasonable for a hotel restaurant, under $10 for entrees, $5-6 for alcoholic drinks. Can't say I have much desire to return to Ensenada anytime soon, but Estero Beach is a decent hotel choice if you want to be a little away from all the action. read more

The room was huge and we got an ocean view even though we were told the ocean views were all sold out. So with that we were pleasantly surprised. The negatives were the website said the pool was heated. It was not unless heated to 60 degrees.. brrrr. And the swim up bar was closed. Most things were not available according to their website so it must have been off season when we went. It was very quiet, seemed like maybe 10 rooms were booked. The sushi bar was surprisingly good. Only one restaurant so you are either eating there for every meal or driving off lthe hotel grounds. read more

While down with friends on vacation in Ensenada, it occurred to me that one of my companions had never seen the beautiful beach front property of Estero Beach Hotel and Resort. In the area already I decided that I would make a short stop and give a brief tour of the resort to my friends. Little did I know that I wouldn't even make it past the outer most entry gate. I was stopped, as always, by the guard that was standing post at the entryway. The gentleman was middle aged, thin and spoke excellent English, however he told me and my friends that we would have to pay a $10.00 (American) entrance fee to even take a quick tour of the grounds. I was shocked as not even 2 months before I had been allowed entry free of charge and with no hassle. The gentleman then explained that a voucher would be given to take $10.00 dollars off anything we bought inside Estero Beach. I felt like this was a scam, so I left without paying the supposed fee. I have been going to Estero Beach for over 30 years and not once have I been asked to pay a fee. Wanting clarification I called the hotel and was told that this policy has been in effect since March. I will no longer be going to this hotel and was extremely disappointed with this news. Apparently this policy will remain in effect until September, fair warning to anyone interested in even just visiting. read more
