This is a pretty intimate restaurant with very cultural interior design so it feels like your immersed! I'd say the food is only slightly overpriced. We went on a Monday night with a large group of 8 so we made a reservation! We were seated promptly upon arrival. We ordered a bunch of different dishes and shared family style. The dips were all delicious along with the kebabs and entrees. The kebabs were served with two different types of rice and grilled tomato- it was really good with the yogurt sauce. I minus a star for their service. They were rushing us too much by always hanging around and picking up plates that we weren't even done eating. We were just trying to enjoy the end of our meal and digest but we could tell that they were trying to kick us out and kept staring us down. Brunch special has 3 course for 12bucks. You can choose either salad or soup, and an appetizer, and then a main dish wish soda or tea. I think the portions are generous and also plus free bread, the lunch deal is definitely worth it. The waitress' were a bit slow in the sense that they forgot to bring more bread or refill our tea, but all in all I had a pleasant time. I went with a very large group of 10, and the service was fast and quick with bringing our food. I would go again if I am around the town. read more

Really good Turkish cuisine. My friend and I wanted lunch when we were in Clifton picking up some used furniture. Toros did not disappoint. They had a weekend lunch special and it was so filling. We had the tomato eggplant appetizer and the salmon entree. (yeah we weren't feeling that adventurous) with a great salad. Then we had the turkish version of custard. SOOOOOO GOOD. The ambience in the place is beautiful. There seemed to be a lot of traditional Turkish decorations and this restaurant would be an amazing date spot as it is very cozy and inviting. A good sign also was many people came for the brunch. When it is a rather full house, that is usually a good sign you made the best decision! read more

I went here for a work lunch & it was really good! Our waitress was really attentive and brought out everything really fast. I almost got too full off of bread before my entree came out because it was AMAZING! And the hummus to go with it was great as well. I got the salmon dish and it was seasoned and cooked wonderfully. 12.99 lunch special ended up being a pretty good deal. One appetizer (all vegetarian), one entrée, soup or salad, and a drink. Not too bad especially if you're looking for a social place to grab lunch with friends on a weekend. The entrees were on point - our party ordered a variety of chicken, lamb and beef dishes - all were cooked well-seasoned and relatively moist (apparently the beef was somewhat of a disappointment in terms of dryness, but still pretty good per friend). Soup with their complimentary bread is AMAZING. I can't say enough for the bread - crispy on the outside, warm and soft on the inside. Appetizers were good but if you're a pure carnivore you're outta luck. Only disappointment was that only American coffee (not Turkish coffee) was included as part of the lunch special. Went for a late lunch early dinner on a Sunday afternoon. The food was absolutely wonderful from the shared appetizer to the combination entrees for dinner and outstanding desserts. I must be losing my memory as I forgot to review Toros! This Toros differs a lot compared to the Paterson location (which I tried some years back), as this Toros is decorated quite a bit more elegantly and formal versus the more casual atmosphere in Paterson. Notwithstanding the decor, both locations offer some very good Turkish food. For the appetizer I ordered the Sigara Boregi that was very nicely fried, piping hot, and filled with a nice (not overly strong) feta cheese. My entree was the Pirzola & Adana (Lamb Chops & Adana Kebab) and it was good, though with some inconsistencies...... The lamb chops, while nicely seasoned, were a bit overdone with a little char on the top which was not tasty. Conversely the Adana Kebab was grilled very well with a nice peppery seasoning. The side dishes of rice and couscous were excellent and had a nice rich flavor as if seasoned from the meat. Of note was the excellent service from the staff who were all cordial and attentive. Overall the meal was solid, nothing great, which maybe I was expecting from Toros whose reputation is pretty stout. read more

Midye Dolma: knowing what a gem this dish could be, I ordered it with enthusiasm. I wish I didn't. It was way off. The rice was overcooked which turned it into a mush. The mussle was giant one and overly meaty. You had to chew through an overly cooked shellfish meat that was spongy and quite unplesant. The original dish gets its kick from the al dante rice grains, rich olive oil and the all spice which were completely nonexistent in this dish. Maybe its a sourcing issue? I really wish they could make it properly. Icli kofte: YES! YES!! Crisp and yummy outside, warm and moist inside. A bit nutty, a little spicy. This dish was an absolute home run! Acili ezme: this is the Turkish pesto. Again, perfectly executed with walnuts and the right ratio of spices. You might as well be in Turkey eating this. Great stuff!! Arnavut cigeri (liver).: they were well spiced and fried but, I think more attention needs to be paid to sourcing here. The dish is supposed to be made with a young veal. That was not the case. The texture was mealy with hard grown veins, definitely from a much older animal. I can't say it was terrible because with enough lemon and onion you could look beyond the age of the liver. Sourcing aside, the kitchen did a great job. All in all, I got a sense that the restaurant was struggling with its size. They are clearly struggling with sourcing. The authentic cuisine relies heavily on the freshness of ingredients and I do realize that its not an easy feat to pull off. If you have been to Turkey a few times you will notice that the flavours resemble what you had back there, however if you are a native you may be dissapointed with some of the trickier dishes. I also noticed that the restaurant owner or host kept doing his rounds every 5 minutes, making sure no one is frowning at his table. I trust they will improve with that. read more

But the hostess was so nice and hospitable, she offered my wife and I a complementary glass of Turkish tea that was absolutely delicious. I go to many Turkish restaurants as I love Mediterranean/middle eastern cuisine, but Toros has beautiful ambience, great service and delicious food. Definitely worth the wait. read more

Every time we went, missed taking pictures as we dove into our plates. I promise myself I must take pictures! Found this by chance on a day we wanted to go out of our usual...and so glad we did! Best Adana ever had. The food there is cooked just right. We are big lamb lovers. Kabab, yummy. And besides the usual hummus and babaganoush...you must try the eggplant sauce appetizer. Absolutely loved the chopped turkish salad of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, fresh dill & parsley in a citrus vinaigrette. The combo lamb kabob plate (cubed and chopped) was seasoned quite well. My only criticism was that it was a bit on the salty side and the rice seemed like uncle bens or something (I usually love middle eastern restaurants for their fabulously nutty basmati rice). Wow! I was amazed with everything in the restaurant. I was referred to go to the La Ziza's. I went there but I wasn't feeling to comfortable with hooka while eating. Perhaps I just walked out of the restaurant. Thanks to yelp I looked for what was nearby and Toro's restaurant was one of the hot spot and let me tell you it was phenomenal. Our waitress she was sweet and gentle. The food was great and the wine price was reasonable. Which it was lovely. I give this place a + because they are not stingy with the food. I ordered toros Karisik combo plate today via grub hub. I was not impressed by the quality or flavor of the meats.some of the beef cubes and the Adana had pink inside which tells me meat wasn't cooked right. They probably took a frozen piece of meat and put in the grill, so only out side got cooked well and inside looked pink. The meat didn't had any flavor either. Some one need to teach the people in kitchen how to marinate meat and grill the meats properly. Totally disappointed. read more

This place was pretty good! We went here on a Saturday night and they were nice enough to take a reservation only 30 minutes ahead of time. We ordered the salad and baba ganoush for appetizers. I ordered the yogurt chicken kabob. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It was moist and not at all dry. They had the yogurt on top of it and some tomatoes to garnish. They kept the water and bread coming plentifully! Our leftovers were boxed for us and bagged individually. The only thing I didn't like about this place was how cramped the seating area was. After coming off a life changing trip from turkey, i was really missing turkish food so my friends recommended going to toros to hopefully try to fill the hole turkey left on my heart. we started with the spicy vegetable salad and lebni (yogurt with cucumbers and walnuts) and all of our apps did not disappoint and came out fairly quickly too. Bread was good and ample. for entrees we got the a set of the mixed grill so we could have all the kebabs one meal because we really wanted them all. The meats were all cooked really well and done well. between the 4 of us we got two plates of the mixed grills and even than we had leftovers were full, so portions are good here. anytime im hankering for some good turkish food this is going to be in my rotations of places i visit again and again. loved the food and atmosphere. feels very warm and comforting and authentically turkish. read more

What a great lunch special deal. Delicious, warm, soft bread and buttah. Soup/salad, appetizer, an entree, and a drink. All under $13 (I think it was $11-$12, I can't remember too well). I had the hummus which was excellent, tried the toubouleh which was decent. To be fair, I'm not a huge fan of toubouleh but it was refreshing. Soup was big but light and flavorful without the lingering taste of heavy spices. I ended up dipping my bread in it. The entree was on the small side but I was pretty happy that it turned out to be small since I was full by the time the hummus came out. I ordered the lemon salmon and it came with the nice side salad and a bed of rice. Very filling but light-tasting meal. I think it's a perfect place to take a date since you don't leave smelling like food and your breath isn't reaking of garlic. Not that it's a bad thing. Oh did I mention they serve Turkish coffee? Yum. I was a happy girl. I got my veggies, my grains, and my protein without the abundance of carbs. Bread and butter. Healthy, right? Right? My only gripe with this place was that the service was a bit cold. No eye contact, very quick, and they didn't make any effort to give suggestions when we asked. The interior is cute, almost kind of fancy which made me feel out of place since I was in jeans and sneakers. Maybe that's why I got the cold shoulder but nonetheless, we were left alone for most of the time to chat but we got the service when we needed it. As long as the service isn't rude, I don't mind too much. I can't speak for Toros's dinner service but it's highly recommended for lunch. $12 for lunch is a steal. read more

Lovely place! The atmosphere gleams in gold accents with vintage red walls. It feels warm and authentic. They have a cute bar section along with a cozy dining area. The service was a delight. We started with the Shepherd's salad and it was the best one I've ever had. Delicious! The bread was rockin' too. I kept it simple and ordered the lamb/chicken combination platter. The meats were really tasty, but the lamb could have been a tad more rare. The rice was yummy - they give you two different styles which I enjoyed. My date ordered the Turkish Ravioli. It kinda tasted like beef stroganoff. The sauce was yogurt based. I don't think he loved it, neither did I, but then again that really isn't my thing. We finished the night with some Turkish Coffee.
