    Mixed pide
    Mel T.

Came in on a Saturday at around 1 pm. There's only one guy working there and I assume he's the owner. Seemed like he was really busy with takeout orders. Maybe it's more popular for takeout because nobody was dining there at the time - although I will note that the dining area was very clean, which I appreciate. To start, he brought us a plate of pickled cucumbers/cabbage, and some seasoned thinly-sliced tomatoes. We ordered the Mixed Pide (a thick dough crust stuffed with Turkish pastrami, Turkish sausage, chopped meat, and mozzarella cheese) and a Lahmacun (Turkish style pizza - ground meat blended with peppers, parsley and herbs, on a thin crust dough). It took a while (20-30 minutes) for the food to come out but they are making it fresh back there so if you don't want to wait, I'd recommend calling ahead. Both came out piping hot. I can't decide which I liked better because the pide was loaded with meat and cheese, but the lahmacun was amazing. It was really flavorful, and super thin - I don't even know how they get the crust so thin. I've tried making this at home before and it definitely does not compare. It's really hard to get such a thin crust (although I'm also not a professional). And for just $5? It's a steal! My husband and I finished both but I could probably have eaten another lahmacun easily on my own. Will definitely be back but I'll probably place my order ahead next time.

Great lahmacun! Turkish pizza with incredible toppings. Must try and the price is right...

One of the best turkish pide and breakfast that I have in US even in Turkey. You may taste almost the same flavour as in northern part of Turkey, pide experts. Breakfast was incredible. They served a special turkish breakfast meal baked in oven earthenware pot called menemen. Try this! And dont forget to drink delicious turkish tea. Prices are very resonable for that kind of meal.

My favorite lahmacun in the area! I have tried 2 other places but this is the best in my opinion. The dough is not too thin not too thick and has the perfect amount of meat. We were 4 people dining there and 3 out of 4 agreed that that's the best Lahmacun from what we have tried in New Jersey. Service was nice and polite, i don't eat onions and they didn't have any problem with giving me parsley without onions for my Lahmacun (i have asked at another place and they wouldn't do it for me). Also other places use lettuce mixed with onions and not parsley as it is supposed to be. The place is spatious and clean.

Really really really good Lahmacun. For those who've never had lahmacun, it's similar to a small personal sized thin pizza but you won't find your traditional mozzarella cheese and sauce but minced ground beef with onions and spices (and occasionally tomatoes depending on where you go). Park Pide probably serves the best lahmacun in the area. They cost $3 and come with cut onions, tomatoes, parsley and sliced lemons on the side. Just a heads-up, parking can be a pain here. If you can't find a spot in their lot, you might have to park on the street a few stores down. If you park across the street, I hope that you're wearing your running shoes because cars do not slow down on Crooks Ave. Also, it can take up to 20 minutes for 3-4 lahmacun pies so call ahead if you're in a hurry.

We had breakfast twice here on our 1 week NJ-NYC trip. We absolutely love the pide (karadeniz yaglisi with cheese) and the menemen. Also tulum cheese inluded in the breakfast plate had a very very unique aroma. All ingredients were fresh and very tasty. The lady who served us was very kind and friendly. We will definetly be coming here next time we visit here!

We got a table right away. The menu had a variety of dishes like appetizers, soups, gyro, kebabs, pasta, pizzas, seafood, wraps and sandwiches. In drinks section, they had the Turkish coffee and tea. We started with their complementary bread, so fluffy and light, we pretty ate the whole thing before any of our dishes came. I ordered my favorite fried liver cubes from the hot apps section, and it was fantastic. It was full of flavor, perfectly sized cubes and properly fried. Tasted so good with the complimentary bread (we requested a second one). For entree we ordered the Mix Grill and Karisik Izgara as it was a perfectly sharable dish for two and we got to try 5 of their kebabs that are lamb shish, ground lamb, chicken shish, ground chicken and grilled meat patties. Both ground kebabs were excellent, full of flavors. The shish and patties were also good. We got the margarita pizza too, but that one was disappointed, seemed like some sauce was just thrown on top of the cheese and wasn't baked long enough. Our server was really friendly. She always stayed on top of things. Our dishes came out in quick time, it was impressive. Despite the shortcoming of the pizza, which is not usually a Turkish dish, I was thoroughly impressed by the actually Turkish dishes, like liver cubes and kebabs. I'll for sure visit them again whenever I feel like having kebabs next time

We had to ask twice for our rice we ordered for entrees to be brought out because our server forgot. Fine, that happens. But what really threw me off was when I questioned if the mold in my cheese was normal, the server assured me it was naturally occurring for the flavor. I felt gaslit because I have never had Parmesan with such questionable green growth on it for consumption in any restaurant in my entire life. The server said if it bothered me, he'd bring out fresh shavings with no mold. I have left pictures so you can be the judge of this. Aside from my minor issue with the cheese, the ambiance of the restaurant was nice and there's plenty of choices for meat and non-meat eaters alike

Turkish cuisine is a unique combination of flavors, spices, and herbs developed over thousands of years, influenced by the Central Asian nomads and Arabic, Persian, Italian, French, and Eastern European cultures. While New York has some great Turkish food if one knows where to look, most of it leaves some room for improvement. Could Jersey be better? The town of Carlstadt has mainly residential private homes, with a spattering of condos and garden apartments. The main shopping area is all of about three blocks long on both sides of the street. Translated from the Turkish language, meaning sultan, we have come to this family-owned/family-run establishment located on Hackensack Street since 2006 for Saturday dinner. The reservation was easily made by Google Assistant. Upon entering this hidden gem called Hünkar Restaurant as first-timers, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the staff inside a cozy room, where ethnic pictures and decorations as well as the music all add to the vibe. A great view of the NYC skyline is visible from their enclosed back patio. Their menu features Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine with a modern twist and serves alcohol. As an appetizer, we decided on the Kibbeh (Icli Kofte), Calamari (Kalamar), and Cigarette Borek (Sigara Boregi). For our main meal, we opted for Chicken Saute (Taouk Sote), Shrimp Kebab, Lamb Shish Kebab (Kuzu Sis Kebab), and Chicken Shish Kebab (Tavuk Kebab). All Kebab meal accompanied by rice, char-grilled tomatoes, peppers, and a small salad. Warm, fluffy pida bread with a crisp crust started our meal. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor and is beautifully presented, from the fact that Turkish families from all over the area eat here. The staff is warm, welcoming, and very professional; our server was Akincan "John," the owners' son. The price was comparable to the area with the right portion. We can recommend this place.

All of that was leading me to want to try it and then a coworker that I recommended Paterson to, returned the favor and told me how good Helvaci Ali was after he tried it. That was the push I needed to walk past my usual favorite dessert spot. (If you come to Paterson often, you'll have a favorite of everything) First things that hit me when I walked in with my daughter was the delightful air conditioning, followed by the stunning decor. Absolutely gorgeous navy blue, with decorative touches and great tables/seating. Next thing that we experienced was incredible service, super pleasant and accommodating staff. They provided samples of the helva and it was love at first bite! Pistachio is always a favorite. They made my daughter and I sundaes with pistachio helva, kunefe topping, and Turkish ice cream. So wonderful! The Turkish ice cream has a unique and lovely texture from a slight thickener that helps it stand up to the heat without melting quickly.
