Amazing experience and the food was even better! I am in town to serve with City Relief, a local nonprofit. Their leaders took us to Abu Rass for a group dinner. Everything from the first sip of Arabic coffee and to the last sip of post-dinner tea with baklava was incredible. And what a great atmosphere on the Abu Rass patio. We shared the 6 item appetizer assortment and then ate a large family style spread of meats and salads. I didn't order, so no idea what all we enjoyed, but it was all delicious. Everyone in our group of 9 was thoroughly satisfied.

Moe's musings: We got the vegetarian platter which served as appetizers. The baba ganoush was really good, hummus was ok but a bit heavy on the tahini, tabouleh wasn't great and finally the falafel were ok. For the main we shared the Small Mix Plate which was by no means small. It is enough to feed 3-4 adults. Absolutely incredible value. Really good barbequed shish kabob and shish tawouk! The meats and chicken were juicy and flavourful, well-seasoned and tasted like they were grilled over charcoal. Delicious and they hit the spot. Oh and the fresh pita bread that they bring out (complimentary) was phenomenal! I didn't like the beef shawarma, it wasn't very juicy or seasoned. The chicken shawarma was a bit better but I would recommend the grilled meats instead. To drink we had a Laziza (Peach) and Mint Lemonade. Both were good. Customer service was fantastic from start to end and the atmosphere (outside patio area in the rear) felt like we were in the Middle East, it was chill and lively. Great place, I would recommend and will be back for their shish kabobs and shish tawouk!

Sat in the heated back patio which was very nice but a little chilly. The food was full of flavor but a bit too acidic for my taste. Very quick service and helpful with food options.

Ordered: Lemonade with Mint (~$6) Laziza - Peach Flavor (~$3) Vegetarian Platter (~$18): falafel, hummus, babaghanouj, tabouleh Small Mix Plate (~$36): 2 kofta, 1 shish kebab, 1 shish tawook, beef & chicken shawarma; served with rice Aya's take: Being Middle Eastern myself and having tried a bunch of restaurants in Paterson, I knew I'd have a good meal no matter what. It was our first time at Abu Rass and we were taken to the enclosed outdoor area to sit. It had that village vibe and automatically felt familiar. I love a Lemonade with Mint and there's this pretty solid! It's refreshing, not super sweet, and has that slushie texture. We decided to share the Vegetarian Platter and Small Mix Plate which easily could have fed 4 people. It's great value and we had plenty of leftovers to say the least. If you're not wanting an assortment of appetizers, the Vegetarian Platter is a good option. It includes some standard dishes like hummus and babaghanouj which went well with their fresh, warm pita bread. The tabouleh added some freshness and a light bite to the meal and falafel were fried well and had good seasoning. The Small Mix Plate was also delicious! My favorites were the shish tawook and kofta. If you like shawarma, you're in luck because you get a literal pile of both chicken & beef shawarma. It came with rice or fries and I didn't understand why they couldn't do half and half despite me asking for it. The rice was cooked well, fluffy, and lightly seasoned but some fries would've really paired well with this meal. Good food & good try overall!

This place is absolutely amazing. I came here yesterday on December 30th for my birthday with some of my family and boyfriend was absolutely amazing This is by far the best Jordanian restaurant I have ever been to highly recommend even if it's out of your way go there!so much Food Taste so good and if you like hookah, they have so many flavors you will not be disappointed at all. The service is amazing The owner is so nice absolutely loved it The ambience is so beautiful as well as the staff so friendly love that it is a family owned restaurant as well go and support this business!!! we had leftovers and we ordered two more of the Family Mix Plate and the appetizers with pita bread to go so my aunts and cousin can have my family try it because they live upstate my uncle said he hasn't tasted that food that was so authentic since he was young he felt like he was back home in the Middle East :) plus I was given a free drink when we were picking up the food to go & leave it was the matrix cherry strawberry soda was so yummy definitely will be coming back here soon since I have 2 of my cousins birthdays coming up!

One of the finest spreads of Palestinian cooking in the world greets you not after crossing through the Al-Aqsa Gate in Al-Quds, but after paying the 80 cent toll on the Garden State Parkway and turning onto Paterson's Main Street. There is a looming feeling of foreboding along the street, subtitled as "Palestine Way", these days. My controversial opinion is the mezzes here are tastier than at the more popular al-Basha nearby, which I felt peaked before they moved into their swankier new digs on Crooks Avenue. The hummus here is served with a smooth blend of tahini and a decadent pour of high quality olive oil, and the textured muhammara goes excellently with a serving of fried jibneh. It was breakfast time when we arrived, so we also had to order a plate of ful and eijah, both well executed. The only item we did not love was the eggplant salad, which had a bit of misplaced raw crunch from the red peppers.

I would have gave 5 stars but service needed some work when they automatically add the tip you can expect service to be below average and it was !!! However the food definitely made up for that and my pomegranate juice was refreshing I will definitely be coming back soon!!!! Especially for the Turkish salad Get up and go get you some !!!!!!

Hummus

Ordered with Uber Eats and everything was warm, delicious and plentiful. Got the mixed grill platter. Juicy cuts of chicken, steak, gyro on a bed of seasoned rice. With grilled tomatoes. Side of hummus and soft pita were all delectable! Their hummus hits different! Insanely good!

Words cannot describe how amazing this place is the customer service is amazing. The food is out of this world. Literally when I tell you out of this world it's out of this world. I've eaten so many Middle Eastern restaurant. Nothing like this. This is straight up from back home. The hookah is amazing. The coffee is the best. The tea is the best. Their desserts are the best. There's nothing wrong about this place on this to God. One of the best of the best in New Jersey. Must come and try.

Second time ordering take out from here. First time was the shish tawook platter. Second time the vegetarian platter. The flavors are the best I've ever had in Mediterranean cuisine. Incomparable and authentic

Popular Palestinian spot in the heart of Patterson on Palestine Way with an authentic food menu and many flavorful dishes to try from. I was pleased with the flavors and the service and friendly staff.

This is an amazing place to get some delicious middle eastern food for a super fair price. There are a lot of great options on their large menu and I really don't think you can wrong with any. A few things I would suggest: Fattoush Salad, Falafel, Shish Taouk Platter, Hummus. The tea there is great as well as the mint lemonade. Emphasis on the Hummus!!!!! It is some of the best I have ever had. They offer you free pita as well which is great about this place. If you want a bang for your buck, I would suggest the Shawarma sandwiches. You can make it a deal with a side of french fries for an amazing price. The service is pretty good and there is a nice inside. There is a lot of seating in their outdoor tented area. Definitely will be coming back here soon!

We ordered a whole range of things including chicken kebab, chicken gyro, tahini cauliflower,…read morelabneh, and hummus. Everything was delicious, but I'll leave the food writing to the Yelpers with more sophisticated palates than I. (Actually, I take that back--the fresh-baked pita was amazing and I would eat it with/for every meal if I could.) The real reason I wanted to leave a review the service, which went above and beyond. Let me start by saying that Al Basha takeout has a wonderfully efficient order-number-based system for managing the hundreds of orders they get on a daily basis. But if, say, the person who placed the order sent you to pick up the food with the wrong order number, you're going to struggle, and that's not the restaurant's fault. With that prelude and without getting into the details, we'll just say there was a user error issue with my order that led to a mix-up and a very late pick-up. Everyone from the Al Basha staff with whom I interacted could not have handled it any better. They were very apologetic, not because they did anything wrong (to be clear, they didn't), but because they were disappointed our meal hadn't gone well and wanted to fix that. The top priority of the manager with whom I dealt was making sure that my wife--it was Mothers' Day--got the best meal possible, and made sure to send me home with fresh bread and a treat for the moms. It was true hospitality, and greatly appreciated. TLDR version: great food, excellent service, out-of-this-world pita, and make darned sure you have the right order number.

The chicken kebab was dry and the shawarma was a bit too sour for my liking (not sure if they squeezed lemon on it or something). The kofta was okay but nothing spectacular. The filet mignon, was a major let down. My server didn't ask how we'd like it cooked, which is medium rare for my family. It came back well done. He said everyone usually prefers it to be well done, but I think that's a mistake that shouldn't be made and preference should always be asked, especially with steak. We asked for it to be swapped, and it still came back well done. When we let them know again, they brought it back a little on the rare side, which is fine for my family, but had it been another family, not so sure. I'm sure they have hundreds of orders for the char grilled meets, so I'm a little confused on why the technique has not already been established My favorite dish had to be the makanik - which is pan seared lamb sausages finished with sweet and tangy pomegranate molasses. I usually don't like lamb because of the gamey flavor but these sausages didn't have that. I didn't taste much of the pomegranate molasses. The arugula & beet salad would've been good if the pomegranate molasses vinaigrette was less sweet. The stuffed grape leaves were also a bit too sour. The lemon was just taking over the entire flavor profile. I didn't really taste the tomato or parsley. The falafel platter was good but nothing different than other falafels that I've had. The mint lemonade was so refreshing. Almost everyone in the restaurant had one and I understand why. The mint is not overpowering I had high expectations because I've seen this place on instagram but I'm afraid they were not met. Service was good, but the food definitely needs some work. There's valet parking, which i recommend because it's hard to find street parking

THE GOOD ----------------…read more+ The food and, more specifically, seafood was AMAZINGLY fresh and delicious!!! ++++ Grilled Octopus appetizer with lemon garlic butter was to die for. Octopus was soooooooo tender and the restaurant's signature lemon garlic butter was a perfect compliment to it. ++++ Surf and Turf was, once again, PERFFFFFECT. Order came with a (hugeeee) 12 oz. ribeye and 10 oz. lobster tail. Both were as good as it gets anywhere. ++++ Branzino with rice and fries was excellent! The branzino was extremely bony, as you would expect, but the fish meat was sooooooo good. Rice was very flavorful and the fries were some of the crispiest I've EVER had. ++++ Mint Lemonade was absolutely refreshing. One of the best refresher drinks we've ever had anywhere. + Spacious and bright interior. Bright blue and white walls and floors make you feel like you're actually in the Mediterranean. + Parking lot is right outside of the restaurant and there are 8 spots in total, but it's on a steep slope that leads up to the restaurant entrance. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - The waiter was very, verrrry nice, but, for some odd reason, the side of rice for the Branzino came out 30 minutes after the Branzino arrived on the table!!!! This is not an exaggeration. The waiter kept promising it was coming out soon, but it just took longer and longer and longer to arrive till I was already done with my entree. - The restaurant automatically added a service charge of 15% for just the 2 of us. Typically, you see this for large parties, NOT for parties of 2. With that said, we were a bit surprised it was only 15% though considering 18% seems like the minimum these days. MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Nada. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Dined here on an early Monday afternoon from 12:15 - 1:45 and only when we were leaving did another party finnnnaaaalllly come in. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves until then. CONCLUSION -------------------- = Bottom line, the food is spectacular here. I don't use that word lightly. Our meal here was as good as we've had in a longgg time.

Yasmeen 39 Union Ave…read moreCresskill, NJ 07626 Strawberry Matcha Latte One of the two locations of this Lebanese/Syrian restaurant is in the heart of Cresskill. As I entered the restaurant, I was impressed with the attractive interior and even more so impressed with their viral coffee bar. With so many flavors to choose ranging from pistachio to coconut cloud, I decided to choose the strawberry matcha latte (and it was hard to make a decision). When server Ana placed this iced beverage in front of me, it was love at first sip. The appearance alone instantly caught my eye. Its red, white, and green colors are a perfect fit on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, I had to stir this drink for maximum flavor which altered the appearance; thankfully, I took the photo shot before I started stirring. The ice cubes in this drink made it difficult to stir with the plastic straw, but I was offered a spoon. Although I felt there was a tad bit too much ice in this drink, the combination of strawberry puree, milk, and premium matcha was very refreshing. For an up charge, I added strawberry whipped foam to enhance the flavor even more. When I next return to explore their other signature lattes, I will remember to request less ice which will simply the stirring. #yasmeenmediterranean #yasmeencresskill #strawberrymatchalatte

We sat in the front dining area where there was a large TV, good for watching the game (in our case, the world cup). The place was clean and server was friendly. We ordered 3 lunch specials that included the fattoush (house salad), mouhamarra, labneh, shish tawook (grilled chicken with rice pilaf), kufta kebab, and mint lemonade. Honestly for food, my average rating for everything would be closer to 3.5/5. The pita bread that came with the table was room temp and served in a plastic bag. I would have liked it to be at least warmed up a little before being brought out. The sides and dips were average. They lacked flavor and depth in my opinion- the labneh was simply plain, sour yogurt without any other flavor. The mouhamarrah was also average, it was a bit spicy and that was about it. Standouts from our table that were very well executed were the lentil soup, shish tawook, and yasmeen fries. The lentil soup came out steaming hot, and was very nicely seasoned. I liked that it came with crispy pieces to add texture. The shish tawook surprised me as it didnt look super special, but it was actually very good! The chicken was juicy, fell apart easily, and had that nice grill flavor. It went well with the rice and vegetables. The yasmeen fries were hot and crispy, the garlic seasoning was a very nice touch. I would've liked if my mint lemonade had more mint flavor in it but perhaps that was my bad for not ordering the slush version. The portions were pretty generous, 19.95 is a fair price for all the food we received. Overall, we had a nice experience and am glad we got to try the place out.

I am not an expert of Turkish food, but I am very familiar with cheese pide (think Turkish pizza)…read more My family are allium-free vegetarians and the cheese pide fits the bill. We moved and it was finally time to try to find our new go-to place for our pide fix and out of the 10+ restaurants in the area that also serve pide... I chose this one. This place is conveniently located on a very central and busy street. It's mostly street parking (good luck) though they do have 2 dedicated spaces in front if you're lucky. It's a cozy place with maybe 4 tables when you walk in - all were full when we got there around 1 pm on a Monday that happened to be a federal holiday - and we were told that there were more seats around the corner. They built an addition - you will be briefly exposed to the outdoors for a few steps - and it's so much more roomier and brighter with more (and larger) tables. It's climate controlled as well. There was only one man manning the front and everyone else is in the kitchen so expect some wait if it's busy and especially if you're in the separate room, but it honestly wasn't that bad for us. We were all given menus (the two adults AND my two young kids) and given sufficient time to peruse. The menu is fairly simple: they specialize in pide and lahmacun. There's a small salad section and beverages but no dessert. Their pide is different from what I'm used to; they have a super long version that is at least 2 feet long (don't quote that; I didn't bring my tape measure) and a round one that is likely around 12 inches in diameter. I focused on the cheese pide section and the drinks and ordered: Kaşarli Pide (mozzarella pide) - this was for my daughter. It is LONG. I'd venture to say it could even be 2-1/2 feet long as the ends were longer than the board it was on. The dough for this is stretched thin so it comes out almost like boat shaped flatbread with an equally thin, but adequate layer of cheese. It's crisp with a chew and is positively delightful. It says mozzarella, but the cheese used in pide always seems to be more and wonderfully three dimensional. Yuvarlak Kaşarli Yumurtali Pide (2 egg and cheese round pide) - I actually wanted the cheese with tomato long pide but I was also intrigued by a circular one so he added in some sliced tomatoes in this as well! We weren't sure how to eat it as the eggs were still mostly raw but we ended up breaking it up and spreading it everywhere and just cutting it like a pizza. It was AMAZING. The dough on this is thicker than the long pide but not very thick either. Not as crispy but does have crispy edges. The combination I got from this was perfection. I can't pinpoint it but it's definitely juicier - whether that be grease, tomato juices, the egg, or all the above - and that made it nice. Very nice. Ayran - we always order ayran when we get pide. This place doesn't make their own, sadly, but it was nice. It's essentially a salty yogurt drink and still hit the spot. Şalgam (fermented turnip juice) - this is completely new to us. I got this because I noticed that almost every Turkish restaurant in the area also offered this as a beverage and adventurous me got curious. They don't make their own so it's bottled and they only have the spicy version (which is the default). This thing is STRONG. It's got an earthy taste to it like beets (but it's mostly made of purple carrots for color and turnips) but it packs a punch like pickle juice and V8. Salty, spicy, earthy, intense... deep flavors. And I LOVED it at first sip. I chugged the first third. It actually reset my stomach enough that I ate more pide, haha. BUT definitely an acquired taste. My husband thought it was okay and let me have most of it. This drink surprisingly contains wheat, so avoid if there's an allergy. Note: my youngest child has multiple food allergies including to wheat and eggs. They don't have a gluten free alternative, unfortunately. There's a sign saying no outside food allowed, but we brought him his pizza and he was perfectly content with that. We never managed to ask the man if it was okay since he was in and out fast, but he didn't question us when he caught a glimpse of the Pyrex. The pide both came with their own pizza cutter wheel for convenience. They also typically come with pickles on the side but we opted out because their pickles contain garlic. I'm supposed to be trying other pide places to give everyone a fair chance, but I've fallen in love with this place. Even my husband who mostly eats to survive... well, he said it was good (which is huge compared to his usual "it's okay"s). They have good service, the pides are stupendous, it's clean (antibacterial wet wipes at every table), single restroom is tidy, and they introduced me to şalgam. I'm thrilled Pide 28 was my first foray into Turkish food in NJ and am looking forward to trying all the cheese pides on their menu in due time.
