    Beef & Lamb Shawarma Platter
    Deborah M.

Omg!!!!!!!! Just omg!!!! Food ecstasy! First time there holy smokes! I feel Middle Eastern food is a healthy option when it comes to dips, meats, rice and veggies. We have been thinking of trying this a while and so glad I finally did. The portions are hugeeeeee moderately priced. The staff super nice the ambiance was cool. Just amazing. The food I just can't give it enough praise without using expletives on a public forum. You have to try!!

The Olive Bistro is in a large white building that it shares with a Rita's. They very conveniently share a large parking lot. The restaurant is BYOB, which is always a plus. We were warmly greeted when we entered. We were seated in the enclosed patio, which is very comfortable. Upon seating, we got a dish of olives and a dish of a variety of pickles. These were delicious. I wish that I could have bought a jar of the pickles for home! We shared a Shepherds Salad to start. The portion was massive. Easily enough for four people. I thought that it needed more lemon and salt, but it was tasty nonetheless. I ordered the Lamb Kidreh and my husband ordered the Shish Kabob. The Lamb meat is the shank, and it was flavorful and succulent. It was served over a humongous mound of spiced rice and came with a cucumber yogurt sauce. The Shish Kabob was a very generous serving of beautifully grilled filet. It was served with spiced rice, pita, and shepherds salad. We left with plenty of leftovers. We shared the Knafeh for dessert. It was honestly underwhelming. I did have some excellent Arabic coffee. Overall, this was a very nice meal. It would be great for a large group. We would return.

I ordered some food from here today and was really impressed. We got the mixed grilled and the hummus with meat. The mixed platter was very good, the meat was very tender and very well seasoned. It came with chicken breast, chicken shawarma, beef kofta, and steak. We opted for the sweet potato fries as well. The hummus was great. The portion was pretty good (it was $14). The meat was well cooked and seasoned and the hummus tasted perfect. It was clearly homemade hummus.

The place seems small but it extends towards the right and it has a lot of space! The service was amazing, our waitress was super kind and patient with us (as we were two friends catching up), didn't rush us to order nor to leave and that was super appreciated! We got the zaatar chips which were good but just couldn't finish as it was a huge plate. We also each got a chicken shawarma platter and it is, by far, the best chicken shawarma I've had in the US! I liked their rice but wasn't wild about it and same with their side salad, but the side sauce was fantastic, as well as the pita, and, like I already mentioned, the shawarma was beyond amazing. I will most definitely be coming back!!

Very friendly great service and good price for good food. The mix grill dish is very good and salad very good.

The food was delicious, and the service was very pleasant! I was happily surprised at how much I enjoyed the big grill platter and apps to share with three of my friends. Parking was easy in the back of the restaurant and I would definitely recommend to anyone that's looking to come here.

Olive Bistro was delicious! First, it is a versatile spot, in that it can be a date night or a chill hang out with friends. I really also enjoyed the authenticity of the restaurant with its authentic Palestinian food house special options and Arabic music. I had the cheese rolls and hummus + meat as an appetizer. It was incredible. The food came out quickly and STEAMING! There was a nice bit of a crunch in the rolls and the hummus was incredibly flavorful. It with meat is an excellent combo. As an entree, I had the mixed grill and it was also delicious. The assortment of meats were different and paired so well with the salad and rice, which had a touch of spice to it and added some extra flavor to an already flavorful meal. The garlic sauce was also a perfect pair with the meal. All in all, food was delicious, service was excellent, and it really lived up to its billing, as an authentic restaurant. Highly recommend!

    Olive Bistro Mix Grill

Olive Bistro was great. We ordered the hummus with meat, lentil soup, falafel, and shared a mixed grill, and everything was really good. The service was top-tier from start to finish. All of the meat and chicken were perfectly tender, and the falafel were super crunchy and filling. Even the rice that came with the mixed grill stood out--it was aromatic and clearly seasoned with a nice blend of spices. The ambiance was also really nice. It's not as extravagant as their other location, but it's still very well maintained, and the Palestinian decor on the walls gives it a warm, welcoming feel. Highly recommend!

Labne, muhammara, and Baba Ghanouj are outstanding quality dips!

Tried The Olive Bistro with friends last night. Parking is good. The restaurant itself is bright and modern. The staff is friendly from the time you arrive and throughout your meal. Our waitress was helpful with good recommendations. We had excellent falafel, baba ghanouj, muhammara, labne, and some ground beef pastries. The dips were really high quality, nice flavor. The falafel was enjoyed by all, even the guy that said he doesn't usually like them. For main courses we had musakhan and makluba. They didn't have lamb for the makluba, so we had the chicken version. The musakhan is excellent! You get a nicely roasted leg quarter, roasted onions, and spices served over a crispy flatbread. Grabbing pieces of flatbread with the toppings was a tasty experience. Since we had already ordered a bunch of items and also wanted their dessert, the makluba ended up being a bit too much rice for three diners. It was good but if you want it, you should be prepared to not order much else. We had kunefe, kunefe ice cream, and baklava ice cream for dessert. The kunefe was very good and the ice cream was creative and tasty. Certainly worth a return!

    Lamb and beef shawarma, muhammara

Great food and friendly service. We ordered the trio dip for appetizer and got the muhammara, labana and baba ghanoush. The muhammara was on the sweeter side, but we enjoyed all three. We also got the shepherd's salad and tabouleh. Loved the shepherd's salad- not too salty which I've found to be the case at other places when ordering same dish. For entrees, we got beef and lamb shawarma and the chicken kidreh. Chicken was fall off the bone tender and perfectly seasoned. Portions were generous- leftovers enough for a full meal! Atmosphere is bustling, on the louder side which we didn't mind. Great for a casual, delicious hearty meal with friends and family. Highly recommend!

We thought the food was just ok. There are other better, similar spots in the area. We prefer Rota, for example.

The service wasn't even the greatest nor the food. Which it was quite a disappointment. My nieces food was uncooked and they only gave her a free milkshake as an apologize. I don't think we be coming back here again. When i asked one of the staff what is this wthat comes with the paratha Omelet and the staff gave me an attitude and said it's patistani bread like i should have known. It wasn't even listed on their menu that's why i asked. It's a cute place but with their rude attitude, uncooked food. No thanks

I placed my order with the kind of focus usually reserved for a high-stakes IT deployment. Then, at the very last possible second--literally as I was mentally preparing to dose for the meal--I got the notification: "Order Cancelled." It's almost impressive, really. To wait until the absolute final moment to pull the plug is a level of suspense I didn't know I needed in my life. It was like they were playing a high-stakes game of "Guess Who Isn't Eating Lunch?" and I was the grand prize winner. I'm sure the food is great, but it's hard to enjoy the flavor profile of an empty plate and a "Cancelled" status update when your blood sugar is actively dropping. If you're looking for a reliable meal, this might not be your spot. If you're looking for a surprise metabolic rollercoaster ride right in the middle of your workday, they absolutely nailed it. When we walked in, we weren't greeted, but we sat wherever we wanted. As soon asbit became Maghrib time, we headed to the buffet table where there were about 8-10 items ready to be self-served. There was one pre-packaged dessert (Jalebi) abailable. Flavor wise everything was average, the beef in one of the rice dishes was tough. The spice level was mild of most dishes. Durum Doner is pretty close to the gym i go to which is good...and very bad! Lol Anyway, when i arrived I didnt notice the place right away and had to do a couple of turns. Inside was nice and cozy. It wasnt a very large place but had enough space to accommodate maybe 10-15 people? There is also outside seating. I bet its nice during a nice sunny weather. As you can see in the photos submitted by many Yelpers, the food looks very good! One of the things that caught my attention was actually how they prepare their plates and how nicely the meats were cooked. When i tasted my orders, they did not disappoint one bit! Chicken and beef were very flavorful and the smell that wafted inside the car as i was bringing them home was sooo darn good it was almost torture. The rice that came with the beef and chicken gyro was flavorful for some reason and the mix of "noodle strings?" was surprisingly very good. Pita bread was nice and soft although became a bit soggy after since it was placed below the meat. Perhaps it was also to catch the oil? Hmm. But either way, i was a happy customer today and ate my big fill...Fyi after a workout. Not good!! But sometimes you just have to be bad right? Will definitely be recommending this place!

Everything was delicious, but I'll leave the food writing to the Yelpers with more sophisticated palates than I. (Actually, I take that back--the fresh-baked pita was amazing and I would eat it with/for every meal if I could.) The real reason I wanted to leave a review the service, which went above and beyond. Let me start by saying that Al Basha takeout has a wonderfully efficient order-number-based system for managing the hundreds of orders they get on a daily basis. But if, say, the person who placed the order sent you to pick up the food with the wrong order number, you're going to struggle, and that's not the restaurant's fault. With that prelude and without getting into the details, we'll just say there was a user error issue with my order that led to a mix-up and a very late pick-up. Everyone from the Al Basha staff with whom I interacted could not have handled it any better. They were very apologetic, not because they did anything wrong (to be clear, they didn't), but because they were disappointed our meal hadn't gone well and wanted to fix that. The top priority of the manager with whom I dealt was making sure that my wife--it was Mothers' Day--got the best meal possible, and made sure to send me home with fresh bread and a treat for the moms. It was true hospitality, and greatly appreciated. TLDR version: great food, excellent service, out-of-this-world pita, and make darned sure you have the right order number.

The chicken kebab was dry and the shawarma was a bit too sour for my liking (not sure if they squeezed lemon on it or something). The kofta was okay but nothing spectacular. The filet mignon, was a major let down. My server didn't ask how we'd like it cooked, which is medium rare for my family. It came back well done. He said everyone usually prefers it to be well done, but I think that's a mistake that shouldn't be made and preference should always be asked, especially with steak. We asked for it to be swapped, and it still came back well done. When we let them know again, they brought it back a little on the rare side, which is fine for my family, but had it been another family, not so sure. I'm sure they have hundreds of orders for the char grilled meets, so I'm a little confused on why the technique has not already been established My favorite dish had to be the makanik - which is pan seared lamb sausages finished with sweet and tangy pomegranate molasses. I usually don't like lamb because of the gamey flavor but these sausages didn't have that. I didn't taste much of the pomegranate molasses. The arugula & beet salad would've been good if the pomegranate molasses vinaigrette was less sweet. The stuffed grape leaves were also a bit too sour. The lemon was just taking over the entire flavor profile. I didn't really taste the tomato or parsley. The falafel platter was good but nothing different than other falafels that I've had. The mint lemonade was so refreshing. Almost everyone in the restaurant had one and I understand why. The mint is not overpowering I had high expectations because I've seen this place on instagram but I'm afraid they were not met. Service was good, but the food definitely needs some work. There's valet parking, which i recommend because it's hard to find street parking
