Additionally, while the pork is still moist, it is not pre-cooked like before. Cooking the thick pieces from raw results in an oily, very dark coating. Finally, the frying oil is breaking down. It imparts a bitter, oxidized flavor to the katsu. Portions remain large and reasonable for the price but like all the other offerings from Don Quijote and Times, what started off strong is now just caloric sustenance.

One friend had curry udon and a piece of katsu from her husband's meal. She said that's what she usually gets (she is a noodle fan).
