Fried Shrimp Dumpling

Wagyu? All-you-can-eat? Count me in! As big fans of Shabuya, we were intrigued at the idea of higher end hot pot at a higher end price. AYCE hot pot just warms the soul in a different way, and adding in some of the richest, fattiest cuts of meat? How can you go wrong! For a two birthday celebration, we called ahead of time to reserve a table for six. I had to call a day before our visit to reduce the head count and they were more than accommodating. When we arrived early, they seated us right away, and came around quite often to take orders. There's a 90 minute time limit, but after 90 minutes our server said oh you have 30 more if you'd like. Top notch service all around. Gyu Masu melds right into the architecture of Hilton Embassy Suites, adopting the contemporary elegance of modern hotel styling. It's very clean and quiet. The AC was a little strong, but I can imagine it would be a refreshing escape from hotter Kapolei nights. The little table got pretty tight with a full shabu shabu setup, so make sure you stack up your empty plates for service. Street parking is pretty easy out front, or find the second floor marked stalls behind the hotel. There were seven cuts of wagyu to try, and you can order four at a time. The cuts are much thicker than other hot pot places, which we loved. Here's what we thought: - Top Sirloin Butt - Had a fat line that tensed up and got noticeably tough compared to other cuts. Decent flavor. - Top Round - My favorite, perfect balance of marbling and flavor. - Short Plate - Thick fat cut that was just way too fatty for us. - Short Rib - Wow, very distinct flavor and great marbling that was an overall favorite. - Outside Skirt - Similar to short plate, so fatty and too rich. - Brisket - Fatty marbled meat, thin and tender. A bit too rich for us. - Chuck Roll - The least fatty and beefiest in flavor. Not my favorite but popular with those that like the beef! We skipped the extra cost cuts, which I'm sure are amazing, but the included meats were plenty rich and decadent. We honed in on a couple favorite cuts and reordered those throughout our meal. You can get up to two broths per pot, and we settled on miso and spicy garlic. They add wagyu tallow for amazing depth of flavor, and be careful with the spicy variants - it's got more kick than most places. Loved the broth here. Also note that they add tofu, bokchoy, cabbage, and mushroom to the broth, so you can skip those in your first round. Gotta say, the nabe ingredients do feel a little lacking compared to other places. "Mixed Mushrooms" were only quartered brown mushrooms - would be nice to have oyster, wood ear, or seafood mushrooms mixed in. Ramen, udon, and rice are staple starch options, but nothing special here like fresh or konjac noodles. Fish and shrimp are awesome options, but I regretted getting even one order of salmon, it was way too much (like a big 6in filet). The cooked kitchen items are also mostly a trap. Be very careful about what you order, it's probably better to focus on the shabu wagyu for value. We had a couple of good items but were disappointed in others. - Wagyu Pupu Steak - DELISH. Not the most tender, but absolutely popping with flavor and garnished with zesty green onions. - Fried Shrimp Dumplings - Brah these shumai have big, juicy shrimp pieces and are fried til the wrappers are nice and crispy. Recommend. - Ahi Poke - Previously frozen and stringy. The sauce was good, but the icy, low quality fish was not. - Lemon Ginger Opakapaka - Dry, hard, severely overcooked. The seasoning has a strong artificial flavor. Skip this one. You also get a free soft drink, which includes a variety of lemonade/limeade mixes. The limeades were very sour, and we had lilikoi, strawberry, and li hing flavors. Wonderful perk. They also brought out slices of Japanese Style Souffle Cheesecake, two since we had two birthdays! Very light and fluffy texture with a rich and smooth cheesecake flavor, enhanced by a honey sauce that is brighter and sweeter than most. Very generous, as these are normally $5.50 per slice, but we would absolutely pay full price to get these again. At $65 per person, it's a great deal, considering how many different wagyu cuts we got to try, and how many extra side options they have. It's an indulgent experience that is hard to treat like traditional hot pot, as the meat is exquisitely rich and hard to eat mountains of. I can't see it being a regular dining choice, but it's absolutely a worthwhile journey for special celebrations, or simply exploring high-end dishes at an affordable price.

My steak was cooked to perfection

It was my friend's birthday, and wanted to go someplace new. Seen this restaurant on IG, otherwise would have never have found this place. A hidden gem in Kapolei in the embassy suites hotel. Restaurant is so cute, Asian modern decor. Lots of parking, street and private parking. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Scallop appetizer was so heavenly good. Served on a shell with all the flavors exploding in my mouth, we ordered this twice, my favorite of evening. Gyoza was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Shrimp tempura was not made fresh, frozen shrimp tempura. Wish they made their shrimp tempura from scratch. Salad was very refreshing and strawberries, what a delight. Raw fish was served chilled and flavored on point. My steak was cooked to perfection. I wish they had surf and turf, but bummers no combo plate. For dessert we had Japanese cheesecake, for our friend's birthday. They do not have ice cream, wish they did. Menu is very simple, not to much choices, but was very satisfied with atmosphere, service, location, and last but not least Food!! Maybe they will add more to menu, coming back for more. Love the location, chill, and relaxing vibe of restaurant. Telling all my friends and more celebrating to come. See you there!

I had a great experience! Our server was super friendly, the atmosphere was nice. Had the Osaka ribs and the 6oz wagyu. Both were incredible:) also got the cheesecake for dessert and would highly recommend. Will definitely be coming back!

Citrus Pepper nabe broth.

This is one is rough. On one hand I wanted to like this place, but at the same time the experience eating here was really underwhelming. I had made a reservation that was confirmed via email for 6:45 PM, but upon arrival the staff didn't appear to have it down and had to get a table prepped 15 minutes after. Now here's the unfortunate part, upon seating we were informed that there were only 2 servers and one cook for that night. This already gave me the impression that things were gonna take a bit, but I still gave it a chance. Our table put in our order and got the first item, Ahi Poke. The poke was excellent, soft melty texture, and had a well balanced sweet and salty flavor in the sauce. The rest of our food started to come out eventually, and then we got the Garlic Miso Ramen. This was an instant drop, the broth was unreasonably salty that it was inedible after a few bites. I'm not exaggerating when I say this, it tasted like straight salt and garlic salt mixed with water that it felt nauseating to eat. The same thing can be said with the Garlic Ahi we received. It had the same high salt taste of the ramen, but just coated all over the ahi. The ramen was sent back after pointing out the flavor. We then got our nabe broth which was Citrus Pepper, and I will admit this was the complete opposite from the Garlic Miso. This broth was enjoyable, light and refreshing. Yes you could taste the salt, but it wasn't trying to dry you out like the other broth. The ribeye, sirloin, and short rib wagyu that came with the nabe were great. Very nice and rich flavor when cooked in the Citrus Pepper broth. Sadly from here it just went downhill. We were informed that the Wagyu Pupu Steak we had ordered was out of stock, almost an hour after we had ordered it. What annoyed me even more was that the table next to us managed to order several orders of it, and they got their orders in. I mean I don't know if it's an issue with allocating supplies or even having inventory on hand, but someone should have been keeping track of what was readily available for customers to order. Just saying, paying $65 for all you can eat at a place that specializes in wagyu and being told "we're out" just comes as a slap in the face and a sign of questionable inventory management. We had to opt for the Osaka Ribs as an alternate, but it was ok. Still had the same issue of high saltiness like the Garlic Ahi. On top of this, I was certain that I never received my Fried Gyoza or Chicken, but at this point our table was done with this place to even follow up about it. So the takeaways from this place. The good - Ahi Poke, Citrus Pepper broth, Wagyu meats for nabe. The not so good - highly salted Garlic Miso Ramen, Garlic Ahi, Osaka Ribs, lack of inventory and staffing. I'm honestly disappointed after dining here. Sure it had a few good points, but the issues with the food and long wait times heavily outweighed the overall experience. Maybe it was just a bad day with staffing or inventory, but I'll give credit to the two servers that were holding it down and managed to tend to everyone. I will say that my overall bill was compensated accordingly due to the issues we had, but still keep in mind you're paying $65 per person. For that price, you'd expect a decent dining experience with food you can enjoy. For the most part we got salt, a 2 hour dine in time that goes well over their 90 minute time limit, and food that was out of stock or never showed up. I don't know if I'll give this place another try. If you do, I hope your food is fairly seasoned and items are actually available.

Great attentive service. Porkchops seem to be the Best value in my opinion. $19.50 for two generous pieces. Yakisoba's both garlic and shoyu flavors were a bit bland. But it was still a satisfying starch to complement the meats. Everything is Ala cart. Majority of items can be shareable/family style. No one ordered the expensive wagyu, so bill came out to around $150 for 5 people.

The place is new and inside embassy suites on the 1st floor so it's really clean. There's ample seating if you have large parties, there were two other large parties there with us. The service was good and we didn't have to flag our waitress down once, she was great. The three stars is for the food though. We all asked for medium rare and got more medium to medium well. I didn't have the heart to send my New York steak back because I was too shame to cause it wasn't my dinner and I was guest to the dinner party. But my steak was cooked well and had no seasoning at all...THANK GOODNESS for the dipping sauces to make it more flavorful and add some moisture to the dry meat. The scallops were overcooked and all you could taste was mushrooms and bacon, the scallops might as well not been in there. The gyozas were good, I think they put potato in there though which was different. My grandma liked her salmon and the chicken was okay, but it was basically just sauced chicken and without the sauce it would be bland since the chicken wasn't even seasoned. I hate writing bad reviews, especially for new places, but their grill guy needs to work on his timing. The kitchen needs to work on timing period. Half the table got their food, and the other half of us just got our rice. While our rice was getting cold it took 10-15 minutes for our entree to come out. We won't be coming back until we read that they've got this down a little better.

(See other reviews regarding location) Plenty of free street parking if not staying at Embassy Suites or living in one of several condos across the way. Otherwise, this seems oddly in the middle of "nowhere", which is not a criticism. Decor is modern, stylish. Ayla's Patisserie is located within the restaurant in the front left corner with 2 glass display cases (not reviewed here). I saw one reviewer had come specifically for the ramen but wasn't able to order it because it turns out it's only available for lunch - I did not know that, so I feel fortunate and am reviewing the ramen exclusively. People were very friendly and service oriented, which was great. The photo attached are four of the ramen offerings that our group chose to try. I'm an "original" or "classic" sort of guy, so my bias is usually that. For the Original, the broth is hearty, savory, full-bodied. It goes beyond "comfort food" in its richness. Sometimes broths are too subtle, sometimes that's what you want? This was anything but, and was deeply satisfying for me. The ramen noodles were FRESH, just what you would want. The wagyu slices were super tender, very savory. But I'll be honest, in a ramen full of flavor and pleasing textures already, any tender meat would suffice/don't hate me. But with that comes my other criticism: I have a hard time spending more than $20 for ramen. Maybe the $$$ is partly due to the wagyu beef? So I would actually rate 4.5 stars because of the price. The other ramen were terrific as well, but Yuzu isn't quite my taste to appreciate. The spicy ramen made me sweat, even though I felt it was highly tolerable, and it was certainly flavorful and delicious. Miso was very good as well despite my miso preference limited to the more traditional miso soup. Gyoza was good too, but I'm not a gyoza connoisseur - when it comes to dumplings of any Asian kind, it's either good or not good (pass/fail), after which it's all about quantity (I've downed 48 in one sitting once. in my youth. homemade at home). So the gyoza here rates Good/Pass. Meat is meaty, savory, not a lot of filler. Skin is thin and crispy-ish, holds the dumpling together well without falling apart. (was there sauce? I can't remember if there was sauce) Will try the wagyu steak when I'm back in the neighborhood! (I like mine medium rare, so fingers crossed)

Good food! Friendly Service. Convenient street parking. They also have All You Can Eat options (but everyone in your table must choose this option). Ambiance is decent.

Wagyu tenderloin supposed to be med rare

If there was a way to give zero stars, I would. We ordered the shoyu yakisoba, bacon bits mashed potatoes, garlic pork chops, fries and the wagyu tenderloin. Service wasnt good even though we were only 1 of 3 tables there. Server didn't check back after dropping food and we had to flag her down just to get her to come to us. I ordered my wagyu tenderloin medium rare and it came out super under done. We asked for it to be cooked a little more and when it came back I could immediately tell that the chef added more salt. It was already super salty to begin with and now it was inedible. My husbands pork chops were also too salty to eat after the 3rd bite. It's sad when the best thing on your table ends up being the fries. This is not a place I'd ever come back to or recommend to anyone. My advice: go someplace else. It's not worth the money.

Been seeing some IG shorts about this new AYCE Wagyu Hot Pot in kapolei and had to try it. Went there for dinner the other day and tried the AYCE option for hot pot. Overall, food was delicious and more cooked options comparing to other AYCE hot pot places. However, I prefer Mikiya over Gyu Masu for Waygu hot pot. The price for $65 is cheaper but the options are very limited. If you want premium A5 ribeye cuts, it's $35 more. There's no seafood options except for some fish and shrimps. The shrimps are large shrimps tho so it's very filling. I find that even with the none premium meat options, the meats were still very delicious. Services were a bit slow but friendly and the place has a cut Japanese design to it. It's nice and clean. We went there for early dinner so it was only a few tables. I would come back for a closer Wagyu Hot Pot fix but if I want the full experience, I will definitely choose Mikiya over Gyu Masu.

Let's start with the reservation process where it confirmed online, then when we got there they said they didn't get it. Probably someone on their end lazy to input the info. Luckily there were seats available but we still had to wait awhile. How tf. When we got seated we still had to wait longer to order. We got the ayce and their miso ramen was soooo salty. Hoo brahh my blood pressure probably went up afta that, even the Osaka ribs were salty and tough. The poke was good I'll give em that. But they were out of a lot of stuff. So much for ayce. Then out came the drinks...isn't the drinks supposed to come out first? Yeah I thought so. Then asked for straws. No straws came out. There was too much of a time gap between the dishes I was ready to dip. I'd say the ayce price and quality of food and service isn't it so we went to Baskin Robins to make up for all of that. Would I go back? Baskin Robins, yes. Gyu Masu? Maybe not.

Came across this restaurant while looking for something new (to us) and different. We found it! Food was amazing. A great selection libations and the staff were warm and welcoming. Enjoyable ambiance.

It's very difficult for me to give less than 3 stars but the service here was dreadful. When we went it was during their lunch hour so they have a set lunch menu. There was only 2 other parties there at the same time. One looked like they were finishing up and another sat maybe 20 minutes after us. The wait was ridiculously long for some ramen. Our server was just rude and not attentive. The food, not worth the price. The gyoza we ordered as an appetizer came like 30 minutes after our whole meal was served because I'm pretty sure he forgot. It also tasted like the ones you can buy at Walmart in the frozen food section. The broth for the wagyu udon was so bland there was no flavor whatsoever ever. The broth for the garlic ramen was good and that's probably it. The egg in my garlic ramen was cold so the soup around it was then cold as well. The garlic shrimp plate was good tho however $23.50 for 6 pieces of shrimp. You gotta be kidding me. It took almost 20 minutes for us to get the check with us being the only people in the restaurant left. The service is the kicker for me tho. I can't believe how bad it was. I wouldn't go back and that's that.

Garlic pork chops! Not that good. Garlic did not taste fresh.

The booking was very straightforward, they don't charge a space rental fee as long as your party spends at least $1000 on food and drinks altogether. Parking was good, and the overall vibe was chill, though it did get a bit noisy. The biggest issue was the condition of the restaurant. The place felt pretty run down. The floors were very dirty, the seats were torn and patched with electrical tape, and the windows were so dirty that we actually thought the restaurant had shut down one day when we were walking by. The bathrooms were also pretty gross, even for a casual bar/restaurant. I wanted to like it more because the food itself was good, but the cleanliness and upkeep really took away from the experience. They definitely need to do a better job maintaining the place. I'd probably only return if I heard they had cleaned up and refreshed the entire restaurant.

The vibes are good with live music but the music is LOUD so be prepared you have to talk pretty loud to hear the people at your table. The gluten free menu is available but it is limited. The server was fantastic about answering questions and honestly she was the best part of the meal. I ordered the edamame and shrimp fried rice my mom ordered the Caesar salad. The portions are LARGE plenty for 3-4 people to split let alone two. Caesar salad was standard and good from what my mom told me. Edamame- I probably would not order this again. It was fine, but I didn't love the seasoning blend on it personally there are other things I would be interested in trying. Shrimp fried rice- I was really excited to try this and I was really hoping that it would be excellent and it was OK. The shrimp was cooked well and the fried rice just felt like it needed some more butter and it was lacking some of the things that make fried rice, fried rice like a fried egg so overall not my favorite dish. The gluten-free menu was pretty limited on options for me to try so I would probably go to somewhere else to try and get fried rice in the future.

I will note that the prices were not significantly or even notably less than the prices at the resort, but it still made for a short walk and great service. If you are driving, there's plenty of parking in the plaza is nice to walk around. In an unrelated incident, someone had fallen and needed to go to the hospital. The staff were all attentive, but also not in the way. I believe that says something good about the vibe.

Spacious. Great spot for large parties even though it was only my date and me. It's Ko Olina so on the second floor it's open air seating which can be bad if you are facing the sun at sunset. I had the fish & chips which we just ok. The fish was fine. It was well cooked and crispy. But the fries were completely sogging and gross. I mean they tasted ok but who likes to eat limp, soggy fries? My date had the poke tacos as her main and she enjoyed them. We also did this chocolate creme pie for dessert which was pretty good. All in all, i would say i much prefer the Waikiki location. Perhaps it was just a busy night for the cooks, but I don't know if I'd give them another shot. On the plus side, since it's ko olina there was plenty of parking around but because it's ko olina it's expensive to park.

We had Bobby cater our wedding in November and the food was such a hit! We would recommend them…read moreover and over again! Our experience with Bobby started with private a tasting in their lounge of a few of the things we were hoping to have on our menu. We tried two mains, a salad and a few sides... when I say everything was a smash it, i really mean it! Our package included a third main and we honestly told him he could pick what to bring because obviously he knows how to cook- it'd be impossible to choose! For our wedding we had the kalbi shortribs, garlic shrimp, and huli huli chicken for our mains. Our salad was the one with the warm bacon dressing (OMG DELICIOUS), and we also had truffle mashed potatoes, a ratatouille, rice and i think 3 appetizers. It was ALL so good. Our guests have been raving about it since. Not only was the food to die for, but also the service before and during the wedding too! we had a few dietary restrictions to accommodate and Bobby was so easy to work with and already had ideas ready to go. Then there's the wait staff - who brought my husband and I full plates of everything first, before anyone else. So many people say they don't get to eat at their own weddings and they made sure that DIDNT happen to us. I was still so anxious that I didn't clear my plate but everything i DID eat was just as good as the tasting. The staff stayed and helped my coordinator for the rest of the night as well. After dinner they boxed up all the leftover food for us to take home and I was so happy for that! Since I didn't eat a ton at my own wedding I got to house all of the leftovers with our families. The taste, the value, the service... it really can't be beat. We've already decided we'll be tracking down his foodtruck whenever we can!

Of course his other foods are great but I don't cook the dishes he makes which is why I'm pointing out the fried noodles. I love that this man is personable and you can really tell the love and passion that goes into his dishes. Rob is such a respectable man and very friendly. You need to inquire on his catering services because apparently he doesn't disappoint. Follow him on Instagram so you can keep up where he's at. Go get 'um!

We were warmly greeted by the hostess who wished us a happy anniversary and were given the option to sit indoors or outdoors. We chose indoor and were seated promptly. The restaurant itself was pretty empty and we got a table by the window where we had a nice view of the golf course. Our server Bianca was super nice and gave us recommendations on the menu. We had the Crab Cakes, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Chinatown Chicken Spring Rolls and the Honey Mustard Charred Beef Short Rib. Portion sizes were good and we were thoroughly surprised by how good the Spring Rolls and Beef Short Ribs were. The spring rolls were hot and crispy on the outside, but was a little different because it had a black bean sauce underneath which was a nice surprise. The beef short ribs were so tender and filling when paired with the mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. At the end of our meal we were presented with a complimentary chocolate soufflé which was a surprise. The soufflé had a nice firm exterior with a nice soft soufflé on the inside and molten chocolate. What a perfect way to end the meal. Amazing service and I look forward to coming back again!

The hostess was very nice and sat us quickly. She also showed us where the restroom was. The service was on point. He was very friendly and explained the menu very well. The food portion was enough for my children and they loved it. It also came with a dessert after. I got the ahi burger which was flavorful. We always get their assorted appetizer (that is enough for 3-4 people) and their brussel sprouts! I can not go to Roy's without ordering their brussel sprouts. The past times I went there, I would order their chocolate molten cake which you would have to put in a order ahead of time and that is really good. I love coming to this location because of service and their menu.
