Pretty sure its supposed to be soft boiled. They had thigh fiber noodles. It had 19 grams of fiber. My husband and I decided to try it out. It was soft, but it tasted like regular noodles. We were really excited to come here because of all the ramen options.. and because of some dietary restrictions, I asked our server about the broth. He said every single ramen was chicken and beef broth based...I asked, including the vegetable ramen? he said "I don't know". Then looked very annoyed I even asked. So whatever.. then I asked about the difference between the white ramen and black garlic ramen.. I asked what made it white? And he said "I don't know." One of my all time favorite Ramen Ya spots. They're all a little different but this one hits every single time.

We walked in at 8:30pm, the sign says that they close at 9pm. The waitress told us that they are closed already. My husband said, the sign says 9pm. She said we close at 8:30pm so we can leave by 9pm. Wow!! We go here a lot but looks like we won't be anymore. That's such bad service. read more

Great service , the food that we ordered was delicious. From the vegetable ramen, regular ramen with pork, char Siu Fried rice, and Shrimp Tempura. Took my two-year-old out for dinner last night. No wait which was exactly what a hungry toddler wants to hear. We were seated quickly, and checked on frequently. Not knowing what a toddler will ever be in the mood for I ordered a few appetizers, the tofu (enjoyed the sauce), the edamame (a little heavy on the salt but other than that cooked well), the shrimp tempura (always a fave and didn't disappoint this time around), and the 6 piece fried gyoza (no dipping sauce served with the gyoza). For mains my baby got the keiki saimin (baby loved the noodles so I don't think she had any complaints) and I got the mapo tofu (a little lacking in flavor). As for ambiance, nothing crazy just like every other Ramen-Ya I've ever been to. read more

More like Ramen Yeeeeah!!! Before being on island San Diego was just starting to get some solid Ramen. I had my fav joints and was very interested in checking out what Hawaii had to offer. As the Japanese Curry that we've had so far has been top notch. The Ramen Ya in Kapolei has some bonus points. As it's located near the Target and next to Down to Earth. There is also an EV charger out front. So there aren't any excuses not to go. As for the ambiance, this would be the only downside. It was a little cramped - not a lot of space between tables. But honestly once the food gets there you quickly forget. My family is notorious for being a bit picky at times. My boys all got the Chicken Katsu Curry while my wife dabbled with the Gyoza Curry. I however went for the Black Garlic Ramen with extra noodles and made sure to make it spicy. End result everyone enjoyed their meal - and a miracle happened it was a clean plate club all around. Even the toddler ate his food and was so happy and content. My wife even mentioned making Ramen Ya a weekly stop as the price was just right especially for the quality. The servers were all quite friendly even when super busy. There wasn't an empty table the entire time we were there. Overall fantastic experience look forward to coming back. read more

We were in Oahu our first night and looking for a quick bite to eat. We stumbled across Ramen Ya in a shopping center and took a chance, wanting to try new places. The dining room is fairly small, with maybe 10 tables. We got seated immediately and there is table service from a serving crew. The menu is large, with many different choices of ramen and other items. We weren't in the mood for ramen so we went with chicken fried rice, tonkatsu chicken, tonkatsu spam (yes, really), and some pan fried gyoza. Everything we tried we enjoyed very much. The tonkatsu was quite crispy and well cooked, though I personally didn't care for the spam cooked this way. The gyoza were fresh and hot, and the fried rice was really outstanding. Great flavor and a large portion size for the price. All in all, we very much enjoyed our meal and went there one additional time before we left. He came up with 1 of the 2 bowls. I was hangry so I dug in without waiting for my husband. After a half dozen mouthfuls I told him to dig into mine. He thought his would be right behind. It was after all Ramen. After watching another table get their food he started eating my Ramen. 10 minutes passed and no second bowl. He realised he'd eaten about a third of my lunch and pushed the bowl back to me. He said "eat it,it's your lunch." Still no second bowl. Finally his arrives and I'm halfway done already. Came here after a Costco shopping trip since hubz was craving Chicken Katsu Curry. Ramen-Ya is located right across at Kapolei Commons... we come here often (a fam fav offering variety). We were seated and ordered... I chose the Won Ton Soup set. As we waited for our food, my husband noticed a lady on the other table eating her ramen with lots of vinegar. She kept adding vinegar to each bite. Interesting. My Won Ton Soup arrived and thought I'd try the vinegar... jus add a little vinegar to my spoon of won ton. OMG... it reminded me of eating Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings). It took my bowl of won ton to a whole new level and flavor. That was a new taste... it was fantastic! I'll definitely be utilizing that vinegar condiment again. So i just heard from my family how bad the service was tonight. So we are the customers and someone in the party order chicken katsu curry and the ask the water/waitress for katsu sauce and they tell you why u have curry and then they don't bring u any sauce at all. They also didn't refill water when asked. My grandson couldn't eat his Katsu bc he had no sauce. So tell me exactly what was your guys problem for not providing what the customers wanted. I never rated this location but this one was pretty good. We got seated right away and it wasn't too busy on a Friday afternoon. We ordered iced waters to drink. For my entire, I got the chicken veggie noodles. This is my go to at every Ramen Ya location I go to. It's pretty consistent to the other locations. It tasted great with lots of veggies, noodles and chicken. I only managed to eat half and took the rest home. Service by our waitress was awesome. She was very attentive and quick. We asked for to go boxes for our leftovers. There were plenty of tables available and plenty of parking up front. I would definitely hit up this location again if I am ever in the area. Left this review when I got take out from this place: just wanted to share it here as well. I ordered a chicken katsu curry. See, in the picture they put on their menu online, it looks as if you get enough curry to dip your katsu in. This is what I received: a plate FULL of rice, with a bit of curry on top that for the rice to absorb it all up (thanks!) and not enough to dip or enjoy with my katsu, and then all the katsu on top. The amount of chicken is good but what the heck on the amount of curry given? I recommend ordering the curry on the side for some quality control. read more

Went in to eat dinner at 8:15, they said they are not seating any customers because they are out of some of the menu items so they will only be doing take out. I said your hours are until 9pm right? My wife and I were in the mood to take out food and not sit at any restaurant so we choose Ramen-Ya Looking at their menu online they had many offerings and we both choose the same dish. We have had noodle dishes or Pho in Hanoi Vietnam which is a filling meal. The restaurant to our surprise was busy as we seemed to be there for an early pickup. They were well prepared to package the meal since it was a broth packed in its own container and the Ramen, wontons & beef in another package. We brought it back to our Villa and were surprised on the taste. It probably was some of the closest to our meals in Vietnam. Had it been a little closer we may have had additional meals. The restaurant setting was in a busy shopping center and def not a place you would dine but a quick place to sit down and eat.
