Kapolei Ramen Ya is by far the best ramen restaurant we've ever been to. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated right away. We were about to order a regular order of gyoza when our honest server reminded us about the happy hour gyoza special, which saved us money. We really appreciated the honesty and great service. The gyoza came out hot, crispy, and full of flavor--better than any we've had at other ramen restaurants. Whenever we're craving ramen, Kapolei Ramen Ya is always the first place that comes to mind. The food, outstanding service, and welcoming atmosphere keep us coming back every time. Thank you to the entire team for consistently providing such a wonderful dining experience! read more

Ramen Ya is located at Kapolei Commons (By Target/Ross/Crumbl) Parking: usually I would say there is ample parking. However, the restaurant is located by the Down to Earth side. So there is parking, but it gets filled quickly. You might have to walk farther if you can't find parking. Ambiance: This place is a cute little ramen shop. Its casual and family friendly. Service:a When we came, we were greeted right away and had a table in hust a few minutes. Our food came out FAST. My husband wasn't even done parking and we already had our food. Food: my kiddo loves ramen. She ate a LOT and loved the tonkatsu broth. The noodles were chewy and the broth was delicious. The only bad thing was the overcooked boiled egg. It was hard boiled. Pretty sure its supposed to be soft boiled. They had thigh fiber noodles. It had 19 grams of fiber. My husband and I decided to try it out. It was soft, but it tasted like regular noodles. It's a totally great alternative if you are watching your carbs. Overall it waa a good experience. My daughter loved her ramen. We had nothing leftover. We will be back for the high fiber noodles. read more

Fresh off the plane, we were hungry. So glad this was our first stop. We came during happy hour so the prices were very reasonable. The food was even better! We tried several types of ramen, gyoza, curry katsu, and spam katsu. I would fly all the way back for more spam katsu. Still thinking about it! Our server was kind and friendly, answering all of our questions. The location was very clean and service was fast. My family and I enjoyed our visit and highly recommend this spot. read more

Used to be $11.25 then $13 for the combo set when I first started going to ramen ya. Now it's $20, not bigger portions though. Used to be a deal now can't justify. Food is fine, made to order but the price has gotten way too high. Inflation is a real bummer. read more

We were really excited to come here because of all the ramen options.. and because of some dietary restrictions, I asked our server about the broth. He said every single ramen was chicken and beef broth based...I asked, including the vegetable ramen? he said "I don't know". Then looked very annoyed I even asked. So whatever.. then I asked about the difference between the white ramen and black garlic ramen.. I asked what made it white? And he said "I don't know." And just stood there.. silent..so when I kindly asked him if he could find out for us, he just stared at me and rolled his eyes like I was the worst person ever for asking him to do his job... We ended up walking out. Super disappointed, we were really looking forward to this. read more

Great service , the food that we ordered was delicious. From the vegetable ramen, regular ramen with pork, char Siu Fried rice, and Shrimp Tempura. When we got our ordered the female that helped us stated that we ordered during happy hour which she gave us 8 steamed gyozas (dumplings) which were amazing. Highly recommend!!! read more

Took my two-year-old out for dinner last night. No wait which was exactly what a hungry toddler wants to hear. We were seated quickly, and checked on frequently. Not knowing what a toddler will ever be in the mood for I ordered a few appetizers, the tofu (enjoyed the sauce), the edamame (a little heavy on the salt but other than that cooked well), the shrimp tempura (always a fave and didn't disappoint this time around), and the 6 piece fried gyoza (no dipping sauce served with the gyoza). For mains my baby got the keiki saimin (baby loved the noodles so I don't think she had any complaints) and I got the mapo tofu (a little lacking in flavor). As for ambiance, nothing crazy just like every other Ramen-Ya I've ever been to. read more

Found this by accident as was shopping and we needed to eat lunch after arriving from the airport. Looked at the Yelp! reviews by others and clinched the deal. Had enough leftovers for another meal. $16.50 for a combination was well worth it for gyoza, mini ramen and chicken katsu! All very tasty. read more

One of my all time favorite Ramen Ya spots. They're all a little different but this one hits every single time.

The portions here are huge--definitely enough for more than one person. Everything came out hot and tasted really good. Our server was super patient the whole time, and when i couldn't finish everything, she happily packed up our leftovers and even gave us disposable utensils, which was really thoughtful. The homemade kimchi was one of my favorite parts. You can tell they make it fresh, and it tasted awesome. Definitely coming back next time we're craving ramen read more

More like Ramen Yeeeeah!!! Before being on island San Diego was just starting to get some solid Ramen. I had my fav joints and was very interested in checking out what Hawaii had to offer. As the Japanese Curry that we've had so far has been top notch. The Ramen Ya in Kapolei has some bonus points. As it's located near the Target and next to Down to Earth. There is also an EV charger out front. So there aren't any excuses not to go. As for the ambiance, this would be the only downside. It was a little cramped - not a lot of space between tables. But honestly once the food gets there you quickly forget. My family is notorious for being a bit picky at times. My boys all got the Chicken Katsu Curry while my wife dabbled with the Gyoza Curry. I however went for the Black Garlic Ramen with extra noodles and made sure to make it spicy. End result everyone enjoyed their meal - and a miracle happened it was a clean plate club all around. Even the toddler ate his food and was so happy and content. My wife even mentioned making Ramen Ya a weekly stop as the price was just right especially for the quality. The servers were all quite friendly even when super busy. There wasn't an empty table the entire time we were there. Overall fantastic experience look forward to coming back. read more

Ramen-Ya serves ramen and other noodle dishes. The service is good, servers were friendly and helpful when asked about items on the menu. The ambiance is of Ramen-Ya is basic and simple, nothing fancy which is fine. Your order is prepared and served quickly. Curry Ramen - 4/5 The curry ramen was very good. The curry ramen tasted good. The curry was not spicy. The ramen noodles are good and not rubbery hard and not soft or mushy. The pork belly was tender, not hard or dry. I wish a soft boiled egg be included. Cold Noodles - 4/5 I ordered the egg noodle or somen. They other cold noodle choice is soba noodles. The dipping sauce was good, and when you mixed all the condiments (sliced fish cake, sliced pork, bamboo shoots and bean sprouts) together, the dish is very refreshing. Ramen-Ya is a decent place for a witch meal. read more

It's a basic Ramen place and we were hangry. Guy greeted us and gave us water and a menu right away. We ordered and then it took a LONG time to get our food. The restaurant was about half full and half of them came in around the same time we did. After watching 3 other tables get their food we saw our waiter looking out from the counter at us. He came up with 1 of the 2 bowls. I was hangry so I dug in without waiting for my husband. After a half dozen mouthfuls I told him to dig into mine. He thought his would be right behind. It was after all Ramen. After watching another table get their food he started eating my Ramen. 10 minutes passed and no second bowl. He realised he'd eaten about a third of my lunch and pushed the bowl back to me. He said "eat it,it's your lunch." Still no second bowl. Finally his arrives and I'm halfway done already. This is poor management back in the kitchen. The overall time was long but splitting up an order like that is not good thus the 3 stars. 3 stars means the food was decent, the price was right, but there are things that take down the experience and that memory will make me hesitate next time I consider coming back.e read more

We were in Oahu our first night and looking for a quick bite to eat. We stumbled across Ramen Ya in a shopping center and took a chance, wanting to try new places. The dining room is fairly small, with maybe 10 tables. We got seated immediately and there is table service from a serving crew. The menu is large, with many different choices of ramen and other items. We weren't in the mood for ramen so we went with chicken fried rice, tonkatsu chicken, tonkatsu spam (yes, really), and some pan fried gyoza. Everything we tried we enjoyed very much. The tonkatsu was quite crispy and well cooked, though I personally didn't care for the spam cooked this way. The gyoza were fresh and hot, and the fried rice was really outstanding. Great flavor and a large portion size for the price. All in all, we very much enjoyed our meal and went there one additional time before we left. The prices were reasonable by Hawaii standards and we felt we got good value for our money. read more

Came here after a Costco shopping trip since hubz was craving Chicken Katsu Curry. Ramen-Ya is located right across at Kapolei Commons... we come here often (a fam fav offering variety). We were seated and ordered... I chose the Won Ton Soup set. As we waited for our food, my husband noticed a lady on the other table eating her ramen with lots of vinegar. She kept adding vinegar to each bite. Interesting. My Won Ton Soup arrived and thought I'd try the vinegar... jus add a little vinegar to my spoon of won ton. OMG... it reminded me of eating Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings). It took my bowl of won ton to a whole new level and flavor. That was a new taste... it was fantastic! I'll definitely be utilizing that vinegar condiment again. Lesson learned: It's always a good idea to watch other patrons at a restaurant - to observe what's good to eat and how to enjoy it. read more

The service at this restaurant tonight was awful two waitresses got our order wrong and one left out one persons order completely. The ramen also was soggy and not hot like other locations that we've enjoyed in the past. We definitely will not be returning and will not recommend this location. I hope for future patrons this night was just a fluke. Other locations are by far more welcoming, pleasant and efficient. read more

Good food but customer service lacking. I came in to place a takeout order. The girl taking my order wasn't too friendly. After ordering, instead of verbally telling me how much I had to pay, she just pointed to the amount shown on the tablet/cash register. And when she brought out my order and handed it to me, I said thank you, but she didn't say nothing, no thank you back, not a word. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the service (or lack of). If you can ignore the crappy service, the ramen here is pretty good. read more

Customer service sucks. We got seated within a few minutes of entering (it was pretty empty with only 2 families but no one seemed to care we was waiting) which was fine we didn't mind. after being seated we got our waters within another few minutes. I thought okay we shouldn't be waiting long to order. We waited 25 minutes for no one to take our order all while 3 groups walked in after us got seated and ordered immediately and the other 2 tables to be helped multiple times. At that point my very young kids were getting impatient so I told my husband isn't that the 3rd group to walk in and order before us he said yes - he wanted to wait a little longer I said nope they don't want our business we're leaving and walked out. First and last time we'll ever visit here. On the other hand pearl city location has great service. read more

So i just heard from my family how bad the service was tonight. So we are the customers and someone in the party order chicken katsu curry and the ask the water/waitress for katsu sauce and they tell you why u have curry and then they don't bring u any sauce at all. They also didn't refill water when asked. My grandson couldn't eat his Katsu bc he had no sauce. So tell me exactly what was your guys problem for not providing what the customers wanted. So we will not be going back to this restaurant bc service is bad. read more

I never rated this location but this one was pretty good. We got seated right away and it wasn't too busy on a Friday afternoon. We ordered iced waters to drink. For my entire, I got the chicken veggie noodles. This is my go to at every Ramen Ya location I go to. It's pretty consistent to the other locations. It tasted great with lots of veggies, noodles and chicken. I only managed to eat half and took the rest home. Service by our waitress was awesome. She was very attentive and quick. We asked for to go boxes for our leftovers. There were plenty of tables available and plenty of parking up front. I would definitely hit up this location again if I am ever in the area. Highly recommend this location as the service was excellent here. read more

Left this review when I got take out from this place: just wanted to share it here as well. I ordered a chicken katsu curry. See, in the picture they put on their menu online, it looks as if you get enough curry to dip your katsu in. This is what I received: a plate FULL of rice, with a bit of curry on top that for the rice to absorb it all up (thanks!) and not enough to dip or enjoy with my katsu, and then all the katsu on top. The amount of chicken is good but what the heck on the amount of curry given? I recommend ordering the curry on the side for some quality control. read more

We wanted to have ramen. We saw this restaurant when we were driving around, and decided to give it a try. The combo is huge! I think it can be easily shared by 2 people. The tonkatsu soup base is quite good. The ramen is not chewy enough. It was too soft. The gyoza was good. However, how can a restaurant not have apple juice and orange soda when they were listed on the menu? That was not acceptable. Will I visit again in the future? Probably. It's just that there are better choices if I am willing to drive into Waikiki. read more
