I was able to enjoy Ramen-Ya for the second time and it did not disappoint! This time I indulge in a whole lunch plate of chicken Katsu with curry rice and it was incredible. It was worth every bite even ordered to go. I recommend curry from here!!!
Ramen Ya is located at Kapolei Commons (By Target/Ross/Crumbl) Parking: usually I would say there is ample parking. However, the restaurant is located by the Down to Earth side. So there is parking, but it gets filled quickly. You might have to walk farther if you can't find parking. Ambiance: This place is a cute little ramen shop. Its casual and family friendly. Service:a When we came, we were greeted right away and had a table in hust a few minutes. Our food came out FAST. My husband wasn't even done parking and we already had our food. Food: my kiddo loves ramen. She ate a LOT and loved the tonkatsu broth. The noodles were chewy and the broth was delicious. The only bad thing was the overcooked boiled egg. It was hard boiled. Pretty sure its supposed to be soft boiled. They had thigh fiber noodles. It had 19 grams of fiber. My husband and I decided to try it out. It was soft, but it tasted like regular noodles. It's a totally great alternative if you are watching your carbs. Overall it waa a good experience. My daughter loved her ramen. We had nothing leftover. We will be back for the high fiber noodles.
Fresh off the plane, we were hungry. So glad this was our first stop. We came during happy hour so the prices were very reasonable. The food was even better! We tried several types of ramen, gyoza, curry katsu, and spam katsu. I would fly all the way back for more spam katsu. Still thinking about it! Our server was kind and friendly, answering all of our questions. The location was very clean and service was fast. My family and I enjoyed our visit and highly recommend this spot.
This restaurant not on the mainland so of course when I come out here, I try everything and it's local and it really pays off 98% of the time. Robin ya did not disappoint. Excellent service nice atmosphere small restaurant but really a perfect setting for something casual.Ill definitely be back.
Found this by accident as was shopping and we needed to eat lunch after arriving from the airport. Looked at the Yelp! reviews by others and clinched the deal. Had enough leftovers for another meal. $16.50 for a combination was well worth it for gyoza, mini ramen and chicken katsu! All very tasty.
The portions here are huge--definitely enough for more than one person. Everything came out hot and tasted really good. Our server was super patient the whole time, and when i couldn't finish everything, she happily packed up our leftovers and even gave us disposable utensils, which was really thoughtful. The homemade kimchi was one of my favorite parts. You can tell they make it fresh, and it tasted awesome. Definitely coming back next time we're craving ramen
I love Ramen Ya! I requested a change to our Ramen and there was some confusion, but our server was very nice about it and our food came out great and fast. Definitely recommend.
More like Ramen Yeeeeah!!! Before being on island San Diego was just starting to get some solid Ramen. I had my fav joints and was very interested in checking out what Hawaii had to offer. As the Japanese Curry that we've had so far has been top notch. The Ramen Ya in Kapolei has some bonus points. As it's located near the Target and next to Down to Earth. There is also an EV charger out front. So there aren't any excuses not to go. As for the ambiance, this would be the only downside. It was a little cramped - not a lot of space between tables. But honestly once the food gets there you quickly forget. My family is notorious for being a bit picky at times. My boys all got the Chicken Katsu Curry while my wife dabbled with the Gyoza Curry. I however went for the Black Garlic Ramen with extra noodles and made sure to make it spicy. End result everyone enjoyed their meal - and a miracle happened it was a clean plate club all around. Even the toddler ate his food and was so happy and content. My wife even mentioned making Ramen Ya a weekly stop as the price was just right especially for the quality. The servers were all quite friendly even when super busy. There wasn't an empty table the entire time we were there. Overall fantastic experience look forward to coming back.
Ramen-Ya serves ramen and other noodle dishes. The service is good, servers were friendly and helpful when asked about items on the menu. The ambiance is of Ramen-Ya is basic and simple, nothing fancy which is fine. Your order is prepared and served quickly. Curry Ramen - 4/5 The curry ramen was very good. The curry ramen tasted good. The curry was not spicy. The ramen noodles are good and not rubbery hard and not soft or mushy. The pork belly was tender, not hard or dry. I wish a soft boiled egg be included. Cold Noodles - 4/5 I ordered the egg noodle or somen. They other cold noodle choice is soba noodles. The dipping sauce was good, and when you mixed all the condiments (sliced fish cake, sliced pork, bamboo shoots and bean sprouts) together, the dish is very refreshing. Ramen-Ya is a decent place for a witch meal.
It's a basic Ramen place and we were hangry. Guy greeted us and gave us water and a menu right away. We ordered and then it took a LONG time to get our food. The restaurant was about half full and half of them came in around the same time we did. After watching 3 other tables get their food we saw our waiter looking out from the counter at us. He came up with 1 of the 2 bowls. I was hangry so I dug in without waiting for my husband. After a half dozen mouthfuls I told him to dig into mine. He thought his would be right behind. It was after all Ramen. After watching another table get their food he started eating my Ramen. 10 minutes passed and no second bowl. He realised he'd eaten about a third of my lunch and pushed the bowl back to me. He said "eat it,it's your lunch." Still no second bowl. Finally his arrives and I'm halfway done already. This is poor management back in the kitchen. The overall time was long but splitting up an order like that is not good thus the 3 stars. 3 stars means the food was decent, the price was right, but there are things that take down the experience and that memory will make me hesitate next time I consider coming back.e
Came here after a Costco shopping trip since hubz was craving Chicken Katsu Curry. Ramen-Ya is located right across at Kapolei Commons... we come here often (a fam fav offering variety). We were seated and ordered... I chose the Won Ton Soup set. As we waited for our food, my husband noticed a lady on the other table eating her ramen with lots of vinegar. She kept adding vinegar to each bite. Interesting. My Won Ton Soup arrived and thought I'd try the vinegar... jus add a little vinegar to my spoon of won ton. OMG... it reminded me of eating Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings). It took my bowl of won ton to a whole new level and flavor. That was a new taste... it was fantastic! I'll definitely be utilizing that vinegar condiment again. Lesson learned: It's always a good idea to watch other patrons at a restaurant - to observe what's good to eat and how to enjoy it.
Ok so first time here. Felt like ramen. But, junk. For my palate, yes I've had the best ramen around. Today I Ordered the Won Ton Ramen $11.25. No flavor, no nothing actually. The 3 slices of Char Siu was tough and tasteless too. A Cup Noodle taste better than what I had here. Nice employees and Covid clean. read more
This place is okay, it's not bad but it's not the best ramen you'll find. I only eat here on lunch when I'm crunched for time and want something hot. I always order the combo set. I get spicy ramen with fried rice and it comes with gyoza. The portions are large for the price, so it's a good deal! Every time I've eaten here the service is pretty quick and the food comes hot and fresh. I wouldn't eat here for dinner because I there are better ramen places near by. If you want something quick and tasty this will do just fine! read more

Came here with a party of 9 during the week without a reservation and we quickly got sat. This place for sure gives you the most bang for your buck. They have a large menu which includes ramen, katsu, fried rice, and various appetizers. I opted for the black garlic ramen. The broth was not too garlicky, but definitely had a great flavor. Portion was kinda small, but then again I was starving so I probably should have ordered extra ramen noodles. read more

Probably the worst ramen I had on Oahu. The broth is very much flavorless. And the noodles tend to be too hard. I ordered their special spicy beef ramen and the beef's texture is very much questionable. I wouldn't go back to this place again read more

Ramen - Ya like most of the places related to this such as Daiichi is just as good as any other. They have a pretty simple menu very easy to read and follow. We went with the Combo A which is the Beef Ramen and we also got the Chicken Katsu Curry. Free Gyoza was included and it was yummy ! What I love about these kind of establishments is that the portion size is generous so you always get a bang for you buck! When the ramen came out as well as the Katsu Curry it was Piping Hot . Good indicator that everything was fresh! I had to actually blow on my Katsu in order just to chew so I appreciate that . The broth of the ramen was just right especially add the hint of Chilli Oil to it. The Katsu though has to be my absolute favorite. The outside was nice and crispy and the chicken was juicy . The Curry was so savory and I appreciated the generous amount of rice that it included. Overall Ramen Ya is delicious and I would prefer it over Daiichii or Ramen bones in the Area! read more

After an awesome day exploring Hawaii and Aulani coves, we're ready for some comfort food. Ramen Ya is a chain but you feel like family walking in. I had miso ramen, we added potstickers/dumplings and out came so much food. My ramen was just perfect,warm and satisfying, the potstickers were glorious. So happy with this dinner!!! Ate here for the first time. It's a typical ramen place that's known for their combo deals which comes with gyoza, small saimin bowl, and a small plate of selected dishes for less than $11. They sell individual plate lunches and/or saimin bowls. The restaurant appears clean and service was really fast. I had the spam katsu curry combo. My wife had the mochiko chicken combo. My oldest had a regular sized spam katsu curry. There is a lot of parking since it's located in the Kapolei Commons shopping plaza. We really didn't have a server because the initial server came to take our order and someone else brought it out in a matter of 10 minutes and never saw anyone else again. Definitely try this place out if you're in the area looking for cheap eats. read more
Combo A is a sweet price deal to share with your little one! It comes with gyoza, ramen soup, and you can pick a side so we chose chicken katsu. We order a similar combo at New Genki Ramen in Mililani, so creature of habit, we did the same here. It was really delicious and filling. We also ordered mochiko chicken and that was really tasty and crispy compared to NGR. read more

Just average ramen . The taste is more like the Chinese noodles than Japanese ramen taste. Broth and flavor ok but nothing special to me . We have the char siau ramen and Katsu ramen . Kinda disappointed. read more

After picking up our matinée movie tickets at Kapolei's Regal Theater, we decided to roam over to Ramen-Ya for lunch. Located in the same shopping complex as the theaters, Kapolei Commons, this Ramen-Ya was nearby to the Down to Earth market, T-Mobile and Genki Sushi opposite from the theaters. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated like a typical Japanese ramen shop. Upon entry, we were cheerfully greeted and seated at one of their 4-top tables. Being a franchised chain restaurant, their menu was similar to their Waipio site. Our server came by with huge glasses of iced water and took our order as we mentioned that we only had about an hour to dine. She said "no problem" and sure, enough, service was indeed quick and accurate. THE FOOD: -Ma-Po tofu ramen: Ma-po tofu (classic Sichuan dish of silken tofu, ground pork, spicy fermented bean sauces) over ramen. This bowl of ramen was generously portioned and was mildly-spiced. My husband liked this ramen but added a bit more chili oil to liven this dish up. $8.25 -Gyoza ramen: There were 5 plump gyoza served in the steaming hot broth. The noodles were plentiful, too. Although the gyoza were plump, I thought they were bland as they were filled with lots of chopped cabbage and ground pork. The blandness and somewhat thick wrappers were disappointing. And I didn't finish my lunch even after adding some chili oil. $8.25 -Pan fried gyoza : 6 pieces of golden brown and plump gyoza were served to us. Unfortunately, these gyozas were just as bland as those boiled ones in my ramen. But, the "redeeming" quality about these gyoza was their inexpensiveness as they were priced at 6 pieces for $4.50. This Ramen-Ya is average. Their service was very good. Would I drive out 23 miles just to eat here, again? Probably not but we were more interested in seeing a movie. read more
Average ramen joint! Was hoping it would be better than sac's ramen but it wasn't! Pros: nice and clean area and in a good shopping complex that includes Ross, TJ Max, and sports authority. There are plenty of parking and there was a wait when we arrived.... Only 10-15 minutes.... They have plenty of seating as well! I ordered the chicken Katsu ramen and it was decent BUT did not blow me away!! I believe sacramento's ramen is better! The chicken Katsu was crispy and tender and the broth was very mild.... We also ordered the spicy beef ramen and it was average... Broth was red and the beef was cooked all the way.... Not tender at all.... The seafood ramen was just okay.... The broth was too thick and it sucked up the broth.... We even ordered a curry beef to go and it was pretty good but it was slightly on the heavy side... Gravy was thick but it tasted good for lunch the best day! Would we return??? Probably if we didn't have any other spot to eat..... This place again didn't blow me away but it's worth a try! read more
We stopped into Ramen-Ya late this past Tuesday night after the movie got out. Normally I don't like to eat a lot of carbs at night but whatever she wants is fine. Ramen-Ya has a great combo special. For only $9.75, you may choose from either Roman or wonton soup with four pieces of gyoza and one choice from many selections. I chose the beef curry and she chose the chicken karaagei. It was a lot of food for only $9.75. Honestly, the wontons seemed a little under done because some of the wonton seedmed firmer & darker than the outside. Her chicken karaage was delicious as was my beef curry. I'm a big eater and I couldn't finish most of the beef curry so I packed it to go. My friend also couldn't finish her chicken and gyoza so she also packed it to go. Service is fast and friendly but if you go when they are busy, there might be a wait. Be sure to go in and let the cashier know that you are waiting and they will write a number for you and call you when your table is ready. We were told 15 to 20 minute wait but it was less than five. Definitely tasty food and definitely recommended. read more

2 stars for the service.. , Tried a ramen and I know ramen , this was just too watery and bland. Honestly I could only tastes water and garlic watered down still. Idk maybe not a good day . But not worth it. The egg was over boiled. read more

Great value! The food quality Ramen-Ya isn't spectacular, but the portions are huge and you definitely get your money's worth. My family and I all ordered the combo ramen set. This comes with a mini ramen (shio, shoyu, or miso broth), 4 pc gyoza, and your choice of entree. We got the mini fried rice, spam katsu curry, and mochiko chicken. I loved the chicken! It also came with a big scoop of rice and mac salad. The gyoza could have been cooked a little longer/crispier, but still good. Service was quick and the food came right away. The combo set was around $11, which is a great deal and we were all stuffed afterwards. read more

5 cause the ramen and gyoza was tasty and it got me out of the bad weather today. Ramen and rainy cold days go together. Stole pictures from their yelp page but the ramens looked as good. Service was good even when the power went out for a bit. Saw a good friend on the next table and that's always a good sign for a restaurant. read more
We come here once in awhile for a quick, cheap meal. Never again. Halfway through our meal, our youngest daughter crunches on something and spits it out... it was a TOOTH!!!!! We thought her tooth fell out, but when we checked with a flashlight, we realized it didn't come from her mouth. GROSS!!!!!!! Especially during a pandemic!!! We wanted to throw up... it was the most disgusting thing ever!!! We told the waiter and either he didn't understand or he didn't care. Finally, he told us he wouldn't charge us for our meal. Thank goodness because we weren't about to pay for ruining our lunch. read more
