And not wheatgrass, and Tofu... this is real Mexican food. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of pork chicken and beef. There are very large menu. And now, everything you look at it is delicious. I have been coming here since they opened and just now realized, I wanna try everything on this new menu. We had the beef chili rellinos with mole and refried beans, which I don't know how they do it but the refried beans have no pork and taste like they're loaded with bacon. She opted for a a la cart selection of black bean soup, roasted poblano pepper and cheese tamale, mushroom, cheese and spinach enchilida served with guac and pico. And as soon as our server left with our order, we immediately felt like we should have ordered this or that instead until our food arrived. TBO. Everything was totally delicious. I guess it means we just have to come back more often and try everything else on the menu. My server was amazing even though we did not order alcohol... (I had the worst feeling that since this place was really a drinking establishment for so long that they really kind of expected to grab a Margarita). The bill came with an included 20% tip, which I would always do anyway but i'm still kind of eah about telling me how to tip... politics! That said the prices were reasonable and the food was killing it delicious.

Now with all of that out of the way, let's get into the chips. They were crisp, freshly made, perfectly and lightly salted. Now this is what I was missing! My food arrived and it was a good looking and even better tasting plate of food. The Chicken Enchiladas came with a side of rice and refried beans. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back to this location.

I on the other hand got the chicken fajita, and while it was not a traditional fajita I'm used to, it was still pretty good. I did however about have a heat stroke eating the pepper that I assumed was a jalapeño. Turns out it's a trick and it's really a serrano pepper which was extremely hot. Don't eat the pepper unless you can seriously take the heat! We'll be back to try some other options and read the menu a little more carefully.

I don't know who's idea it was to make swankys full service, but I would highly recommend they change their mind. I've never liked chipotle, I've always been a swankys fan, but it feels odd to take away the thing that makes them comparable. Swankys has always been a casual dining experience "eat. drink. chill." And I believe having a formal wait staff throws off the ambiance. Don't get me wrong, the wait staff was very kind and attentive, just not what I needed for a quick meal. I also did not love that the soft tacos were no longer wrapped in tin foil (were they still put under the hot press? I couldn't tell). I was honestly surprised they knew what I meant when I wrote "table sauce" on the slip of paper (anyone else remember the huge bottles that sat out pre covid?) though it also seemed to be a different recipe. I've always loved swankys but this has been a big change, part of the fun was the line. I hope you are able to reopen a second location near where carrefour was and maybe things can be like old times again.
