I was not told to come to the hostess stand to be seated, no friendly greeting when I did approach the stand. Nothing to drink nor any sign of anyone even slowing down @ my table to take a drink order. Maybe they were fighting to see who would take my order? ‍ I was almost finished w/the basket of chips, decided what I wanted and LAID THE CLOSED MENU on the other side of the table close to the edge, hoping someone would notice. I had decided if they couldn't be bothered to come by the time I finished the chips I was leaving. Magically a waitress finally shows up w/3 chips to spare. Placed the order for water and dinner at the same time. Dinner came out quickly but looking pitiful w/barely a full tablespoon of guac, tomatoes or sour cream. Cheap bastards! The flour part of the chimichanga was NOT CRISP, & I was given plastic utensils to maneuver this sad plate. I have eaten here MANY times as I live in the area so I am more than disappointed w/this experience. Not a single customer sitting in the middle @ the 4-tops & @ least 7 booths empty; on a Saturday night @ 8:00 pm. Sad that they have lost so much business, I'll think twice before considering spending my money here again.

The meal at Torchys didn't meet my expectations. My burrito was missing the steak, despite the extra charge. I was charged $3.50 more but didn't get what I paid for. The drinks I ordered turned out to be flat. The lack of fizz in the beverages was a letdown. Overall, my Torchys experience was underwhelming due to these issues. read more

The location used to be a Gutheries Chicken, and the restaurant still has a fast food vibe. But this is no Taco Bell. You order and pay at the counter, but they bring your food, and the server refilled my drink as well. The sodas come with refills, but not the speciality drinks like horchata. We ordered a birria taco which comes with a spicy dipping sauce. The meat is shredded beef, like shredded roast. It came in a crunchy shell with cheese and onions. It was tasty but not outstanding. We also got a fish taco and a shrimp taco. The shrimp were small, battered fried morsels that came in a crunchy corn shell with peppers and onions and a bit of spice. The problem was the shrimp and vegetables were drowned in a thick cheese sauce that overwhelmed the flavor of anything else. The fish taco on the other hand was bright and crisp. The fish was a single fried plank that was hot from the fryer. It came with fresh cabbage slaw and a tasty mayo sauce. We order the taquitos. They come in a set of four. We got two beef and two chicken. The beef was the same as the birria taco. The chicken was shredded. They came topped with cotija cheese and pickled onions. This was a HUGE plate of food, much bigger than the frozen or gas station variety. They were a bit on the dry side though. For sides, we got chips and white queso, and black beans. The beans were tender with a deep savory flavor. The chips were fresh and crunchy and the amount of cheese dip was very generous. In summary, the fish taco was great! The chips and dip were plenty for two people. I can recommend the beans. This is not inexpensive food, but it was more like casual dining than fast food. The portions were large and tasty, and mostly worth the cost.
